2201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Win a Presidential plane... on: January 22, 2020, 04:28:33 PM
Seems like it's still being decided whether it is being sold or not? Seems like a nice idea for them to try though. It is going to help their country in the end, and  it is a raffle, luck still plays out in the end. Too bad its only for Mexican residents though, which could be said to be a good and bad thing since no countries could take advantage of the raffle.
Well, if you read the article, the government of Mexico needed the money so they are selling the plane. The money they will be getting will be used for the development in their country. As I said, it is not just for the chance of winning the plane but also a chance to help the country. Obviously you did not read the article the OP posted, the president will give the maintenance of the plane for year free. He also thought about those people that might win the plane and don't have the money when it comes to taking care of it. It is true that people can just hog all the lottery tickets but that is not worth it. Even if it is a plane, it is not worth it.
The other guy might be considering it in terms of a "selfish" kind of perspective. I mean, some people wouldn't know what to do with a plane tbh, and if it just sat there doing nothing, even if you got it for a few bucks, it'd still seem to be a waste right? And a year of maintenance, it ain't like you're gonna fly the plane a hundred times per year, so yea. If the Mexican Airport could accept a rent kind of thing with the winner though, it might be much more worth it/helpful.
2202  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your opinion on the highest /lowest value of bitcoin in 2020? on: January 22, 2020, 03:49:49 PM
Expect at least a 100% increase by the end of the year. Around November - December would probably the time for the halvings effect to kick in, and most traders are just watching right now, on stand by and waiting. By mid year, some might spread FUD so that the market loosens up so that they could profit more, so take care of that. Still, judge with your own eyes whether those news are FUD or not, but I solely believe that BTC might reach $16k before the end of the year.
2203  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Institutional Investors Bring in the Next Wave of Hype to the Crypto-Sphere? on: January 22, 2020, 02:26:51 PM
They are kind of yes. Could be. But the name of Institutional Investors isn't all positive and all of that. They can also bring about negative results with their decisions. See, Libra coin indeed hyped the news of Crypto towards the world, but it also brought negative effects since the coin that let the world know that the crypto world isn't all fun and games, and that losses can be quite huge. We all acknowledge, and know of this, but in terms of BTC adoption, this kind of seems a setback of sorts.
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting exchange or regular sports book on: January 22, 2020, 01:34:50 PM
Yeah everyone has his own opinion. I am using both on a daily basis.
I use regular sports book to play accumulators, bet builders and system bets.
And I use betting exchanges to 'trade' the betting markets.
Same. Using both doesn't really defeat my purpose or anything of the sort, and if anything else, it actually gives two different atmospheres since betting exchanges seems like a pvp kind of betting, and sports book is like betting against a bot/AI. Still, there are times when I feel like I don't really want to experience fees, and times where I want to play against others. Been playing with Betfair for quite some time now. Haven't really found anything better IMO, but I'm still trying out other betting exchanges.
2205  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Is Now More Than 50% Dollarized, Study Finds on: January 21, 2020, 03:54:59 PM
Investing in cryptocurrency might require high fund but trading cryptocurrency does not necessarily require high fund. Although bitcoin may look high price to venture into, thats why satoshi can take go round as individual can acquire.Solving Inflation goes beyond the adoption of dollar to settle the economic situation, government do more into production, international exchange, corruption and other economic management policies.
Venezuela had issues with their economy situation, not with trading issues sadly. Usage of dollar helped them alleviate the problem, but without fully adopting it, problems would still probably arise, that is until they are able to manage their own currency, or they fully adopt the usage of dollar in their country.

Poor countries would probably have the ability to adapt to crypto in the long term, just not now. Crypto is considered more right now as an investment, and naturally, only those abled countries could possibly trade them. Especially with the requirement of electricity and Internet access.
2206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You CANNOT trade successfully without RISK-MANAGEMENT on: January 21, 2020, 03:15:41 PM
Personally I don't agree with your statement that it is harder to save than to earn. If you have a little bit of financial education you can easily put your money to work for you at a relatively low amount of risk. For the average amateur investoe the returns won't be very high if you choose to invest in assets with a low risk like real estate or bonds.

Trading is a whole other endeavour than investing. You've got to have a viable edge first of all and then to implement solid risk management principles that protect your account and limit your behaviour. Losses will incur inevitably when you're a trader, risk management will enable you ro "absorb" those losses without much damage while you expose yourself to gains.
I think what he meant by "save" is to break even, which is true, because people often forget to do so. They only focus on making profits, much so that losses seem inevitable for them, and this leads to continuous losses which in the end leads to bankruptcy. See, what you said about investing with a low amount of risk means to use proper "Risk Management", just like what OP has said.

I for one has never used other third party software to manage my Risk management. I have though asked for other traders opinions, specifically in my circle with regards to tips and tricks of Risk Management.
2207  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese New Year - Crypto Market on: January 21, 2020, 02:37:48 PM
I see it as a placebo. Many events are thought to be influencing the prices and whenever they don't, there's suddenly a reason the market didn't go the predicted way. Whenever they do though, there's always the "I TOLD YOU!" follow-up commentary.
Well, it can be kind of considered one. From the past Chinese New years of BTC, it has often more than not brought about a bit of an increase, albeit temporarily.
I don't think such events have any major impact on bitcoin prices. We saw that last month too. No significant up or down happened in the price of bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies during Christmas and holidays. It is only after the starting of this year that prices are surging again. Associating crypto market with festivals is as stupid as associating it with Trump's victory. Both had no impact on prices.
Major Impacts, yes it has none. But minor effects could be seen every now and then though. Also, if we were to look at the history of BTC prices during Chinese New year (past 5 years), it has always brought a bit of price increase, just a little bit of boost, but as I said, temporarily. It could be a good chance for some people to sell some of their coins at a bit of a high price compared to the price before the said boost.
2208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price. Will go up? or Will go down below $8600? over the night on: January 21, 2020, 01:52:00 PM
Yes. It's only been TWO days. I see no reason for you to panic that much and choose an immediate position. Well, if you're fine with taking risks, go do so. The recent rally of BTC to $9k failed which led to it dropping down to $8.6k, and it moving sideways isn't really anything surprising. Just compare it to how last years Q4 movement came about, constant sideways movement. After numerous tries to breakthrough the barriers, it continuously did as such. Only when a few weeks after the new year did BTC managed to push through to $8k, managing to continue to push to $9k, which again, as I said, failed.
2209  Economy / Services / Re: Life of a Bitcoin Broker. Is it for you? on: January 20, 2020, 11:56:40 PM
Mate you should probably move this to Services, since you are offering one. Still, it's kind of a referral/Service type of thing so eh. Good luck mate.
2210  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 smart ways to bet on the upcoming bitcoin halvening with options on: January 20, 2020, 05:02:28 PM
Those decisions don't even need the halving to be considered. Read it, but it contained close to zero information that could possibly help any newbie or experienced trader in their trades. Not only that, you didn't even discuss on the basics of what Options are and what are the possible pros and cons in case of the development in what your 3 cases entails. Halving is discussed, sure, but it's quite irrelevant, since the core idea is still playing around with options.
2211  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Shines as US Mortgage Debt Exceeds 2008 Levels on: January 20, 2020, 04:27:45 PM
Aaaand I don't see how Title's OP is relevant to the actual post. If it's related to the recent push of BTC to $9k, Still, irrelevant. The US debt could go and exceed more and more levels, but the crypto scene would barely make a dent on it to actually affect the waves. Especially since the current crypto scene already has its hands full expanding and trying to integrate to the world. It has no time to bother fixing the mistakes of those so called top of the globe kind of people.
2212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does the ETH/BTC ratio present a trading opportunity ? on: January 20, 2020, 03:26:44 PM
Any altcoin with a good enough reputation is a good trading opportunity IMO. It just depends on whether you're able to take advantage of the basics of trading, to buy low and sell high. Still, the relationship between altcoins and BTC can mostly be seen with every decrease in price, since once BTC decreases its price, altcoins almost always follows, and the percentage is even closely similar to the drop of BTC itself.
Guys , I'm NOT saying sell BTC to buy ETH , that is risky ( given what we expect from BTC over the next 12-24 months , and the unknowns around ETH ).

What I'm saying in the video is that - should you want to buy more BTC now ( as we're still in the accumulation phase ) , it might be a good idea to invest some funds into ETH , and when the ratio climbs , you swop for BTC , this way you get more BTC than if you invested directly into BTC.
And if the odds go down? Doesn't that mean you'd lose the profit you could've earned with directly investing on BTC? Also, its not like BTC would wait for the ratio with ETH before going down. Still, up to you. It's still unclear whats going to happen with BTC during the halving season after all.
2213  Other / Politics & Society / Re: failed states in third world, why are politicians in the west still so stupid? on: January 19, 2020, 03:56:20 PM
African countries were well rich in the resources but their politicians selling them for their own benefits which lead the country to become poverty region but still few people are rich in those countries.People can decide the leaders once for a while but they were failed to pick the right leaders.
They not only look at the riches as the resources, but also the people. The lack of guidance from a first world country towards a third world country is always lacking since the first world countries could be said to be watching each other, and any form of possible spark could lead to internal disagreements. It isn't just about the failure of picking leaders, but rather the people being picked have no choice but to follow the big countries, since they believe their country to be small and unable to face them head on.
2214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have we been entertained? on: January 19, 2020, 01:08:40 PM
Bull runs like 4 years interval? First time hearing that a bull run actually likes the number 4. Bakkt is old news. It's recent announcements are because its an exchange, ofc it wants to add features that would entice users to use their exchange. And we all know that Bakkt was an exchange that would affect the entire cryptoscene in the long term, so it being announced in the news every now and then isn't anything weird at all. Plus, even if it were news that were just meant to keep us entertained, the market would still move on, and I doubt traders would be so blind to not see anything weird happening to the market.
2215  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on the World War 3 and its possible impacts on future? on: January 18, 2020, 04:15:33 PM
No World War III would happen. I'd say both Iran and US know the repercussions of an event such a war, so I doubt the feud between the two would escalate to that. A war would only most likely happen in this world once resources are being started to be fought over, and diplomatic talks are not enough to calm those countries whom are in the brink of losing their resources.

Still, I kind of understand the fears and assumptions of the people, with how the current "supreme" leader is acting towards the US president, as well as towards the results of the "accidental" hit of missile of Iran to the Ukrainian plane. Then there's also Trump, we all know how Trump acts and really, his actions are sometimes unpredictable and most likely goes against literally what everyone wants. Though I doubt that both of them don't know what War really entails.
2216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Easy Ways to Improve Your Cryptocurrency Trading Profits on: January 18, 2020, 03:46:20 PM
They're pretty.. ehh average? I mean. It's not to improve, its more to decrease costs that you do in trading in general. Tbh, if one were actually quite a serious analyst, fees would become secondary, depending on the amount of time he/she believes is required to obtain a certain percentage of profit that he/ she had for the initial investment.
OP is considering himself a newbie to cryptocurrency trading but also writing articles about trading tips. My questions, how would people believe in OP if the tips haven't been proven on himself?
He didn't say anything about it being his though. It's an article he probably found on the net and he wants it to be shared to the forum.
2217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Shorting Got You REKT? Try Crypto Put Options. on: January 18, 2020, 12:33:26 PM
Doesn't trading with options bring about more risk than normal trading? or even margin trading at that? Just the fact that whales are the ones often in the past participating in trading with options, it already says a lot about how risky it is and how you can lose money pretty quickly. Sure, Options may have recently become available for the mass public to use, with Bakkt and CME releasing Options trading but it still doesn't mean that they encourage you to use it, I think. Especially if your a beginner in the market, Options is one part you'd want to avoid, even if your quite experienced already tbh.
2218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is on its best start-of-year streak since 2012 on: January 18, 2020, 07:15:04 AM
You can and can't say so. The year after the bubble headed into a crash so taking into account those years isn't really that helpful. Just goes to show though that the time frame where BTC is rising doesn't really matter, what matters is how the traders move through those time frames. Especially for this year, halving in sight, FOMO in the air, and traders hodling for quite a long time are now expectant of another ATH that results from the halving.
2219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 17, 2020, 05:26:06 PM
Conor still has his fight with Cerrone to think of. Any other matters should be put at hold, especially an opinion of him wanting to fight with Manny, a heavy weight in the boxing industry. Honestly, Manny might even just put on an exhibition for him, let him put out a few punches before knocking him out, which is not what the people want, and even what Conor wants. He needs to solidify his position and improve his skills before even thinking of touching Manny.
2220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Alternate Market Cycle Thesis on: January 17, 2020, 05:00:33 PM
With the price growing a few percentages everyday, I'd doubt that the FOMO wouldn't achieve its goal of $15k and higher though. As for possible crashes, I guess the market is just waiting a point where they can exit it, a point where they would profit and they know that most of the traders would exit at that point in time. I'd say somewhere around $15-$20k is the exit point they are looking for? Since the last ATH was around there, and seeing as the FOMO has spread far and wide, fear has also started being rooted in their minds, fear that the halving would not bring a boom just like what happened last year.
