2221  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Network Difficulty increase 20% to 35% & Estimated ROI BFL/Avalon/KNC/Bitfury on: September 15, 2013, 12:27:48 AM
Update September 14th 2013

I have taken the liberty to give an estimate as to the expected day 1 difficulty when shipped from manufacturer.

The difficulty dates selected are from the manufacturer's expected shipping date start. The numbers are based from a low Network Difficulty Increase of 20% every 12 Days.

And as always here is the link to the updated estimate both 20% and 30% increases.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmeuPljmUNHCdEpqX2RmMDFwemJyLURVUWFtZ3J3aGc&usp=sharing

P.S.

Seems to be on target with expected Hardware growth. If hardware development and purchases continue at this rate. Expect to see a higher average then 30% come the end of October.
2222  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Skipping 50 million and 70 million on: September 14, 2013, 07:58:03 PM
The hashing power is growing at about 2.5% a day and growth is actually accelerating. While this rate of growth is sustained it means doubling just about every 29 days, and ten fold just about every 3 month.

Accelerating at 30%+ as predicted.

2223  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces the launch of a new Bitcoin ASIC on: September 14, 2013, 04:45:16 PM
Sounds like we'll be able to get an Avalon ASIC unit for 239 dollars next year.  Pretty impressive progress.
Thats what is crossing my mind as well. As well as the possibility that BlackArrow is leaking details on Avalons Gen 2.

Notice he is avoiding the question of whether these are Avalon ASIC chips in development?

Edit: Have to admit, I haven't run the numbers yet, but 3999$ for 1300Gh/s sounds like a good deal.

It is on schedule to be the new 75 Gh/s and replace the first generation Avalon units.
2224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: tldr: Why isn't KNC able to compete with *55nm bitfury's W/GH? on: September 14, 2013, 03:54:25 PM
thats a little unfair.  bitfury took pre-orders just like knc did.  bitfury has started shipping now.  and knc is not yet late on its promised shipping dates of end of september so its a little unfair to claim theyre selling squat.  theyre selling pre-orders just like every other asic company including bitfury.  bitfury still has many pre-orders for its october batch, too.   if we get to october and knc hasnt shipped any, then you can crow all you want

That's not quite comparable. Bitfury started taking preorders after showing a working chip, and then delivered working miners a few months later. KNC took preorders months before even having a chip, still doesn't have a chip, yet promises to deliver working miners in under 2 weeks. The odds of KNC delivering on time are rapidly dropping.

Punin from bitfurystrikesback.com (EU) and Dave from megabigpower.com (NA) took preorders, one week apart for cscape design hardware using Bitfury chips.

They delivered the majority of the orders within 31 days despite having manufacturing mishaps.
2225  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC mining board project on: September 13, 2013, 07:55:42 PM

2226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: September 13, 2013, 07:10:46 PM
This thread can be condensed to a single TL;DR version:

MOVE ALONG PEOPLE, THIS IS A SCAM

exactly

just because they worked 'in the industries and are world class blah blah's' do not stop them from going for a fat money grab

Taking bets?

Yeah I bet on KNC by ordering from them

I too have a day 1 order from KNC.

The question I posed was to the validity of the Cointerra project.
2227  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 13, 2013, 04:27:47 PM
I'm pretty sure the CoinTerra team is legit, though I have no idea what asxproject.com is or was and stuff related to that.

Why? I assume: "If Dr. Naveed Sherwan is legit and involved in CT, CoinTerra is legit also".

1. He is a team member and there is reference to Open Silicon:
http://cointerra.com/team/

2. Open Silicon is huge:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-Silicon

3. He is CEO of OS:
http://www.open-silicon.com/management/

4. The "proof" that Mr. Sherwan is indeed involved in CT:
http://www.youtube.com/K199f61n4qM?t=2m27s

(link in 4. doesn't work).

You didn't actually prove anything. If a scammer wanted to scam us, they could just create website called: http://scamware.com/team/ and put there a reference to Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Dr Sherwani.
If you try to prove that CT is legit, you can't use CT website as a source.

If you want actualy proof that Dr Sherwani is really affiliated with CT, then it is here:

(assuming you trust me that I didn't PhotoShop that Grin)

Thank you for that.

Now it would be great if someone would go visit their offices in

Orly? Linkedin?  That is awful hard to fake Cheesy

It is, if you want to have many 100s of connections and dozens of recommendations/endorserments of people who themselves have many 100's of connections and recommendations.
Do the math.

Has anyone met with him and talked with him about his project related with Bitcoin mining hardware?
2229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 07:43:25 PM
Ravi, Timo, and Dr. Sherwani seem pretty legit to me...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K199f61n4qM&feature=player_embedded

I didn't see anything about their chips. Just a bunch of marketing speak about how they are changing the future of finance. Like most Cointerra stuff I've read, its a whole lot of talk with very little, if any, substance.

If they are successful or not is not what concerns me. I truly hope that this does become a reality.

However apart from that video, everything else just seems a little off. Call me paranoid.

I will wait to place any orders as we have other options.
2230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 07:39:08 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K199f61n4qM&feature=player_embedded

I seen that video last week.

I contacted Bitpay to see what they have to say as to 3rd party validation and the lack of HTTPS for the online ordering.

Honestly I am sick of people getting scammed and having to reassure them that bitcoin is not full of scammers.

2231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 06:39:42 PM
punch their addy into google and look at street view

11130 Jollyville Rd
Austin, TX 78759

dental office, mortgage firm and a chiropractor no cointerra.

According to others bad phone number, faulty email, no paypal or CC....... smells like a scam  Undecided

To be fair on that one, you'd have to see the date of the street view. Cointerra is a fairly new company.

Someone from the community please go down and verify this address.

Considering the amount of time and energy put into this. I would be very surprised if this turns out to be a scam.

However something just does not seem on the level here.
2232  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 06:14:26 PM
Their phone number posted on their site does not work either.

Censored ASIC chips found on their website:

SCAM

OP is probably part of this scam.

Hello everyone,

We have become aware of the concerns in the bitcoin community and see it best fit to address the concerns here. The skepticism as to the images used is justified as the ASIC chip is indeed an example of a future product-part. We thought it would be possible to attain the required funds for our first batch delivery based on the information provided to create a solid client base for subsequent batch productions. This is clearly not the case.

We think that it is in our best interest to deliver prototype miner(s) to highly trusted member(s) to establish trust and confidence in our ability to produce and deliver the products. As we are confident we can. This will however delay the 'mass' production, which was initially intended to start as soon as possible. Our supplier has already shown the capability of producing the required hardware. Thus, we feel confident in our combined ability to reach set goals.

We will dedicate our time to update and provide additional information for the coming period. Tomorrow, we have an appointment with out supplier to discuss the cost and possibility of producing a smaller amount of ASIC modules for the purpose of providing prototypes.

We will keep you posted. Any suggestions regarding efforts from our side towards helping this project reach its potential are very welcome.

Regards,

ASX Project

and now asxproject.com no work anymore.

Please understand that we do not wish to spread FUD. But do not continue on ignoring this equation.
2233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 12, 2013, 05:04:25 PM
Yup, you cant argue that. What do you pay for power in your area? im wondering if the Bitfury1 is earning more $/watt than the BFL rig, I assume that it is.. But im also curious to hear the actual cost
When I had a bill to pay in 2011 it was 0.08$/kWh but in 2013 I guess it's more around 0.10$/kWh. I'm not a miner anymore, too much work -.-

0.079$/kWh at this location and only 160 watts used for environmental management. It kicks in once every 30 mins and runs for about 15 mins.

NO AC

Power service at this location is interruptible, however only happened two times this year that lasted a total of 40 mins combined.

2234  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 04:28:48 PM
1. Way to expensive
2. What Guarantee of Delivery do they have
3.Do they Accept Paypal and Credit Cards
4. What Refund Policy Protection do they have
5. Be Careful these are Pre- Orders.

We are currently working with both Paypal(Credit Cards) and Bitpay(Bitcoin). This early unveiling of our 2TH/s TerraMiner IV was due to the incredible amount of requests we have received on our site. We will be publishing our full delivery and refund policy when we have our full product line release later this month.

Thank you for your patience.

Now with the reduced price, yet still no paypal option?

Also where is the https service and SSL Ca authenticated ownership and identity verification for the website?
Since Bitpay is the btc processor have they taken steps to authenticate your team's identity and claims?

Just some questions I wish to have resolved prior to making any type of investment towards funding via pre-order a future ASIC product.

Edit: I think Joeri, your web developer should see about the SSL CA asap.
2235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 12, 2013, 03:54:33 PM
Can it be used to make phone call?

Yes it can Smiley
2236  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 12, 2013, 03:19:25 PM
I just love the worksmanship and attention to detail on the two fan blowhole cuts in the steel chassis.

Looks like a 9 year old with a jigsaw went at it!  Cheesy

It is missing one of the right angles that secure the cover to the sides due to the additional power supply.

Apart from that the design and operation is remarkably well done.

I am certain that if given priority, they could have came up with a better solution.

It is unfortunate that they had so many setbacks. This product 6 months ago would've been in better shape as their would of been less competitors on the market.
2237  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 12, 2013, 02:53:04 PM
Here are photos of what to expect the Mini SC units will look like for those whose orders will be shipping in over the next 17 days.

And here are the results for Avalon, Bitfury, and BFL minirig sc operated in the same environment.

2238  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BPMC Launch BF1 USB miner - probably the fastest USB miner in the World on: September 12, 2013, 12:41:43 PM

Good we paid $130 per chip... and? You want to say what? We are lying? I think there are about 11 people in the COOP can verify what we paid per chip.

Better plug them all in ASAP and mine with them as fast as you can.  You should also consider lowering the price to 1BTC now , because you will be stuck with useless hardware that will never ROI in a few months and then they'll be worth 0.1BTC...... get rid of this useless inventory asap.

Not everyone will buy them for profit in btc.

2239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BPMC Launch BF1 USB miner - probably the fastest USB miner in the World on: September 12, 2013, 12:40:30 PM
Today I would pay 1BTC (+ship) each or 2.1 for two incl. shipping.  Smiley

Pay for 2 devices at full price and get the 2nd device free!
2240  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BPMC Launch BF1 USB miner - probably the fastest USB miner in the World on: September 12, 2013, 12:33:38 PM
You should have realized by now that the community has been learning a lot from the past months.

Don't complain about your costs being high... that's your problem. Make better decisions next time.

Almost everyone is in this for the money and the ones who are not just got run over by your minimum order.

So please, improve your pricing.

That may be. Consider that the primary item is over $108 each chip and consider that the price of those asic's are expected to drop for next months orders.

However the unit itself is USB based and cgminer supported and you can flash the firmware.

Hmm sounds like a great tinkering tool for those who want to see what they can do with Bitfury Chips.
BS the reels of chips until recently were $60,000 for 3,000, that's $20 per chip.

Zefir is selling them for .27BTC per chip https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=288718.0

Even the July delivery ones were only 21 Euro each http://www.bitfurystrikesback.com/product/bitfury-55nm-asic-by-reel-july/

You are wrong about the August price as those reals were expensive 300k +
However the old price for October chip Reals was indeed $60k
I purchased chips myself at August price.

https://megabigpower.com/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=33

They had a minimum amount before of 10 chips per order. However now minimum order is 1.
