2242  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: April 30, 2014, 11:31:17 PM
Ya know folks, Bitmine.ch still lists AMT as the Authorized Distributor for North America.  http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=5426 btw, I also have a screenshot of that page for when that changes.

As such, they are also legally involved in this mess. While they may have no direct control over how AMT is ran they DO have responsibilities for actions taken by AMT in their name.
Just sayin'...

One thing interesting that will come out in court is if AMT even ordered/paid for enough chips to cover miner sales...

As said Bitmine will be no help they are in the middle of a shitstorm themselves with their customers essentially doing the same in Europe as you guys are doing in the US. i.e. pursuing legal avenues

2244  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: D750 750W Server PSU Breakout Boards on: April 30, 2014, 10:18:11 PM
Well everyone has their own standard for "freaking LOUD". I agree that, at full fan speed - heck even at half speed - they're pretty annoying. But the fans don't need to be up that fast to keep the supplies cool outside of a highly-restrictive-server installation. Mine are running at probably less than quarter speed, about a tenth of the full-speed noise, at 85-90% load for months with no problem. I know some people are touchy about being able to hear fans but honestly I don't care much. I am less annoyed by three of those server supplies with properly adjusted fans than a high-strung GPU fan though, if that helps. I have some running GPUs, and the GPU fans are definitely louder.

And actually, the most annoying server fan I've run into so far was on the DPS-800. I had one running two S1 for a couple weeks to see how it behaved, and those fans are internally thermostat controlled so there's no manual adjustments. Asking 800W from it really pushed the fan up into "Holy crap that's irritating" territory, far past the volume level of a manually adjusted and comfortable-steady-state-cooling 750W Dell.

If I had a dB meter I could give you comparisons, because it's pretty clear my fan noise tolerance is atypically high. I know a guy that can only sleep with earplugs, with less fan noise going on.The last time fans kept me up it was actually the lack of fan noise - a PSU died and my equipment turned off, which the sudden silence woke me up before the fans had even finished spinning down.

If you have an android or iphone there are actually a few decent sound meter apps

Sorry maybe a bit mean, but can you explain why anyone would buy from you rather than the manufacturer, the price isn't any different and every one I buy from the manufacturer probably gets me money off the next one in terms of coupons for $100's

I hate to rain on this great pre order parade here, but every single pre order I had (starting with BFL) did not work out for me so I try very, very hard to stay away from them. So it is just my personal opinion that when these SP10s start arriving in May they will be worth around $1800 even though $3K sounds great atm ... not to mention the August stuff that's probably almost 4 months away. And just to give everyone a quick example: My Bitmain S2 batch 1 at $3899 shipped out 1 April, today 8 May shipping for batch 4 is $2199...

Yes but this group buy has nothing to do with SP10's Smiley

Thanks All....

Have figured it out...

Just sent PM to RoadStress...

Phew... only minutes to go!!!!  Appreciate your help!   Grin Grin Grin

Still 49 minutes left!  Lips sealed
2248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 30, 2014, 09:08:17 PM
I believe Road Stress said he requested his refund on 4/11/14.
I requested mine on 4/8/14 and still waiting.
This is bullshit.
 Angry

There has only been 20 working days in April in Sweden up till now so he is only at 9 working days. You are at 12.

Remember tomorrow is also a public holiday in Sweden (and most of Europe) then  back to work on Friday before another two days of for the weekend.

Biffa was right, i have bad stats again on the pool...
the graph on miners show that the units are definitely stable and there is just a variation of few GH... I'm waiting for the power consumption graph from the DC tech team to confirm but I'm pretty sure that I'll switch pool.
However I'm currently mining on ghash.io and I tcp ping @ 100-170ms. On eligius I tcp ping @80-90ms. I'm gonna try eligius and confirm to you.

for now, much much better : http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/13NWuCfiWzNxku12tJ2z6hRWVW2pZhUBpZ

Unfortunately none of the pools are immune, Eligius has been the recipient of a very nasty ddos almost constantly for over a month but luckily whizkid is keeping on top of it most of the time.

There is also a nasty man in the middle type attack going on on many miners on various pools redirecting miners to a third party pool. Check the eligius thread in the pools board here.

4 separate delivery exceptions

this means that the box was thrown on the Fedex truck several times because you were not home...

maybe best to do an insurance claim with Fedex

maybe best to read the post before commenting?
2253  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 30, 2014, 02:03:35 PM
FYI, I noticed a drop in hashrate. Thought it was bad luck but the hash rate dropped a bit everyday. After a reboot, I'm back with fantastic hashrate : quiet mode runing @ 1.4+ TH/s and normal mode @1.55+ TH/s (one hour stats).
I advice a reboot -done in 60s- everyday for optimal hash rate.
Running version 1.2.35

I didn't see such system behaviour. It can be related to the way the pool computes hash-rate. Can you send me image of your hash graph to zvi@spondoolies-tech.com?

Regards`

Depending on the pool it could be that it is being DDOS'ed that would also cause a drop in hash rate at the miner end.

Today i got my BTC refund from KnC. I advise everyone to go that route! Farewell KnC!

THAT IS GREAT THAT YOU GOT YOUR REFUND

Smiley

I will still provide 100 beers to the one that gets an arrest warrant to any KnC team member.

+1 @ Roadstress getting refund, did they send it fiat or BTC?  Gives me hope!!

Read my above post. It was BTC! For fiat you will have to wait 1-2 months. Good luck!

Been waiting 23 Days for either..  ugh

When did you request your refund?
2255  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 30, 2014, 12:06:55 PM
I didn't get into the group buy and I might regret it.

But I wanna ask: if BTC goes to 600-700$ in June will the miners prices be adjusted? Or if this will happen I will be able to get a miner at better prices than today?(in BTC)

That is a group buy for a massive discount, Spondoolies already has a payment plan for people who want to hedge their bets on BTC price increases or decreases but you have to order from the website.

Partial payments!
You have been asking us lately to offer more options when it came to payments on pre-orders.
We want you to be able to secure the best units for future mining, while keeping your own risks at checks.

Starting today and only in April we are offering new and improved payment terms!
1.     40% in advance, 60% when your unit is ready for shipment
2.     40% in advance, 60% converted into Bitcoin and paid when the unit is ready for shipment.
3.     10% discount for upfront payment

These options allow you to better protect yourselves against changes in the Bitcoin exchange rate.
  • Think the Bitcoin value is going to drop? Chose the second option and convert the reminder of your payment to Bitcoin in today’s value.
  • Think the value will rise? Choose to pay your reminder in US dollars.

We will record whichever option you choose and charge you accordingly. On payment of the 60%, you can still choose to pay with Bitcoin, US dollars, or Euros. We will convert the amount in our record to the desired payment methods.

These options will now be available when purchasing a single Yukon unit or the 3 X SP30 Farmer's choice deal.

@ 23+ days withholding refunds KnC should be MUCH lower grade, they have been waffling, excusing, and BS'ing for the last month should be .5 higher then BFL and no more, IMHO  Undecided

There is no way you can relate slightly slow refunds to companies that have been up to a year late with no chance of refund or that have taken over 6 months to refund.

KNC delivered miners over advertised specs pretty much on schedule and have been issuing refunds for those people who don't want to wait for their Neptune Preorder which despite everything are still not late for another two months.

Yes they are self mining, yes you can consider that to be disingenuous, maybe they need the money. It doesn't mean they haven't fulfilled their obligation as hardware suppliers.

Imho of course.

the market become more and more competetive, i am still trying to negociate with the factory to see what is the price they can offer now. anyway, there is a holiday in 1 May-3 May, no miner can be shipped out during these time, so i recommend your guys just wait to see what is the best price after the holiday

Thank you Lee for making the effort to get a good deal for your loyal customers  Cool

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the machines.  You are good.
Any chance for a price adjustment this week considering difficulty just went up ? Also S2's are now cheaper ($2599). https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140429083756017VwGm90Xx06B5

From what I understand he is talking to the factory to try and get a better deal.

I think the price might go down to 2650$ after Chinese Holiday.

2450$ has just been posted by a competitor, and Antminer S2's are $2199 with a $400 rebate coupon for existing customers.

And regarding the individual: You can set up a company without capital, i.e. use the miner as capital. As long as the miner is not delivered, the company is not existing, thus, you still are a private person protected by consumer laws. If you ask for a refund, you stop being a possible business, i.e. you are again a consumer who's assets are not sent back in time.

Sadly, this doesn´t apply.
KnC TOS state that you "agree" to be a business and agree to a b2b contract.

It doens´t matter wether you actually run this as a business or not, you will be treated as such.

As to the fraud debate: as stated above it might be treated as fraud by relevant authorities.

However, i see this as irrelevant because in the meantime they will just refund you and get off the hook.

It's not so easy to bypass european law with one sentence, in a b2b contract the seller has to verify that the customer
is running a business via EU Company VAT/TAX Number.

http://www.shopbetreiber-blog.de/2012/02/23/verkauf-nur-an-gewerbetreibende-verkaufer-trifft-kontrollpflicht/

That really covers selling on Ebay which is primarily a consumer medium, and there is the provision to put your VAT ID on the purchase page.

And its all really a moot point, most people who asked for refunds have recieved them no problem, there seems to be a bit of a delay at present which is being communicated to people who are impacted.

Lets start to get the pitchforks out if it drags on for extended lengths of time beyond what they have said to expect.

There have been two public holidays in Sweden in April, not sure if everyone is counting them as working days.
