2261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most exciting alt coin tech I can use right away? on: July 28, 2016, 02:55:20 PM
Most exciting altcoin nowadays is Etherum, because it have capital - 18 millions USD behind it. Other altcoins can not even hope about that. So if you check ETH market, you can either buy or sale, and make some profit in one or two weeks. And from technical aspects, altcoin wallet, network and  send/receive must work perfectly - this is important, because not all altcoins have good technical background.  Wink

Ethereum being 'exciting' is an understatement at this point. It's a Nancy Drew mystery rolled into fucking Lost.
You can't even make this stuff up, people aren't that creative. Freaking hackers and child DAOs and forks and spoons, it's all bedlam.

Again, this needs to be a book/movie. People won't understand the technological part, but it's still intriguing.
2262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC price speculation on: July 28, 2016, 02:51:52 PM
Bitcoin Maximalists will pump it to parity for political reasons IMO, ETH Whales will try their best to dump and dump to keep it down, but Bitcoin Whales are 10x bigger by marketcap than ETH Whales.

Afraid there might be additional selling pressure from the new mining interest on ETC, but I agree, this is political now and subject to whatever team has the deepest pockets. But I do see a long term increase, ETH is so seemingly broken after this last gem that I can't understand people continuing to purchase/hold the asset.
2263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Return Of The ETH on: July 28, 2016, 02:44:35 PM
Gud to see ETH, the real Ethereum, bouncing back while ETC, the criminals coin, is in freefall.

Your enthusiasm for ETH has no limits Smiley Why would ETC be the criminals coin? ETC is the original concept of Ethereum, which was formerly known as ETH then. You specifically told us ETH was a cool buy back in the day. They are both valid chains now, I don't know why people are having such a hard time accepting that.

If anything, the blatant conflict of interest the fork presented for the developers is "criminal". You don't get to make decisions like this when you have obvious ulterior motives.
2264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: steemit.com more then 5 tags bug that i found on: July 28, 2016, 02:41:17 PM
I wrote about it here:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@sparkeddev/steemit-bug-to-add-more-then-5-tags

But to sum it up you can have up to 6 tags currently but this is a bug so I'm not sure if its ban able.
So use at your own risk.

Has anyone found any other noticeable glitches on the site?

I just joined yesterday, so id like to know if there is anything else i should be looking out for.

Good catch man Smiley of course, this only makes a few bucks while some blonde chick holding a sign and talking about bullshit is getting 10k. They might have a bounty for this, I would really try to contact support.
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Collapsing - ETC up! on: July 28, 2016, 02:34:49 PM
eth classic will need a hard fork too in order to keep dapps related to the correct chain, everyone ignores it

i speculate that it will be all fun and idealistic for a few days, then the profits from ETC will go back to ETH

If there is an exit, a complete exit, from ETC, I strongly believe people will divorce ETH entirely. It seems like they will both have to fork eventually. Despite the current interest, another fork for ETH and it's over. Any fork for ETC, and that game is also over.
2266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Creator: Interest in ETC ‘Coming from the Bitcoin Side’ on: July 28, 2016, 02:30:49 PM
I wouldn't trust one word vitalik says any more. Too much behind the scenes scamming by these guys... Etc is probably theirs too

Also, the stand alone/separatist mentality isn't really appreciated at the moment. This was his baby, now it's all belly up. Taking the stance that ETC is the enemy, along with Bitcoin enthusiasts, and that they are working together to hinder the project is kind of silly/childish. There are plenty of 'Ethereum' guys with ETC,
2267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The RISE of ETHEREUM CLASSIC - A Black Swan Moment? on: July 28, 2016, 02:24:35 PM

Wait, what? This isn't over yet? And there is still the possibility of yet another fork? The article wasn't clear to me if both chains would require an eventual fork. just a definite on ETH.

Mind is blown. Even if Godzilla becomes involved with this at some point, I'm jaded.

To be honest, most of the coins don't do anything novel. If there is a unique feature, well, that's why they are asking for ico/startup money usually. So.they can develop it.
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Creator: Interest in ETC ‘Coming from the Bitcoin Side’ on: July 28, 2016, 02:11:09 PM

Sweet Jesus man, did you make this?! This is the best on of these besides the one on the toy package. I might have this printed out, it's great  Grin
2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the dao was a scam on: July 28, 2016, 02:08:33 PM
DAO was promising project but it failed because of security hole. Life sucks sometimes.

I don't think that it was an intended scam from the beginning, but more something akin of this:

In still not completely convinced this wasn't intentional, but so far they have played the inadvertent aspect to great effect
2272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH hardfork incoming. on: July 26, 2016, 05:25:40 PM
I'm going to hold 5 coins for a week, on an experiment. My ultimate prediction is that ideology (and profit motive) is going to cause a temporary exit from ETH to ETC. My reasoning? Way easier to mine ETC. This will create some selling pressure, but I think everyone won't be so quick to sell. ESP if btc keeps sliding down.

Slightly concerned about the dip.

Disclaimer: holding 5 etc
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] !!!!STEEM is it a SCAM !!!!- or only honestly unfair??? you decide. on: July 26, 2016, 05:20:43 PM
Don't really see the scam potential in this. Did they ICO? If they did, I'm pretty sure you can exit as we speak with profit. They aren't asking for value, for once. They are actually generating it, at least, the users are.
2274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHo will win - ETH or ETC? on: July 26, 2016, 05:17:48 PM
Watching the price move. Wondering if this is a deadcat, or a correction.
2275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regarding ETC on: July 26, 2016, 02:03:29 PM

Sweet Jesus no. What manner of bullshittery is this?

Thanks for pointing this out, Pop. Cookie for you.
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 'Classic' isn't a fork - it is true ETH. The fork should change ticker! on: July 26, 2016, 02:00:50 PM

I do not believe that Ethereum Classic should have a subtitle at all.  It is not a fork, but rather the true Ethereum.  It is the supporters of the Whale Bailout Fork that should change their ticker.  They can change it to ETF (Ethereum Fork) or ETW (Ethereum Whale) but they should not be allowed to keep the original ETH name.

In fact, I call upon Poloniex, Bittrex, Kraken, Coinbase, and all exchange owners to support this social movement.  Forcefully change the Ethereum ticker to [ETF] for the good of crypto.  Let their network have their valid supporters, and let them trade as they please, but restore the blockchain known as [ETC] to their rightful ticker.... [ETH].

Do it for all of crypto, and support the immutability of code and blockchains (even if that code is ultimately flawed).

Lol, this was one of the first things that came to mind when I heard the continuing news on all this. I had tuned out honestly, after ETH failed to react as I predicted post fork. But the non forked chain is ETH in my opinion, that was the original ledger, and despite a fork, will always be. I think everyone else is slowly starting to feel a similar way.
2277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHo will win - ETH or ETC? on: July 26, 2016, 01:56:18 PM
I believe it will be ETC, it's amazing reading the trollbox, reddit, Twitter and news about both plenty of arguments to come.

Some people look at cryptocurrency and think it's about big companies and big investors, it's not its about people, thier ideas and people being able to create their own futures

I haven't been sampling social media to get a read on sentiment. Usually, this is the strongest tool I have at my disposal in these markets. Anyway, what in your opinion is the majority attitude? Are people salty about the fork, and looking at ETC ideologically, or are people relishing in the safety of ETH? ETH was the herd choice, in my opinion.
2278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Ethereum Farms To Jump Into ETC on: July 26, 2016, 01:52:01 PM
The biggest Ethereum farms in China and other miners promise to start mining ETC , how can this influnce the future and price of ETC?

Source? This is bigger than Trump's hands if it's true, but that's a rather bold statement to be making without presenting at least token evidence. This makes sense, difficulty is greatly diminished on the classic chain, it's like mining with a laser pick Smiley

I thought this was over, but dammit, it's apparently just beginning.
2279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth Classic opened the way for Bitcoin Classic fork on: July 26, 2016, 01:48:58 PM
Ethereum classic is not a fork. It's actually working as an argument against forking bitcoin...

Agreed. If anything, this a reason NEVER to hardfork. If this is happening with ETH, imagine bitcoin. So much more hash rate floating around. And most of it in the hands of a select few. Things will get very political, very quickly.
2280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regarding ETC on: July 26, 2016, 01:44:41 PM

Looking at it that way maybe Vitalik now feels very regretful and dirty for doing the hard fork. He has stained his career and his reputation in the cryptosphere. Now what will happen to the slockit team? They are the ones who started and developed the DAO.

Dude, Slock.it might as well burn down the offices and jump off the roof. They had a mildly interesting product offering at best, buoyed up by the PR machine that was ETH. With the DAO quite dead and ETH post fork, Slock has lost any chance that someone will take them seriously. Guilt by association if you will. Also, the conflict of interest with the devs and the DAO and the hard fork, this shit is simply too much.
