This started to make me doubt their performance after the group stage. The trio must focus on their game completely otherwise they might have another disappointment by being eliminated earlier than they expected just as it happened last season. Now if they can work out their difference, then we should be ready for some great football. Mbappe should be willing to assist more instead of wanting the ball all to himself. In other games we saw Chelsea who played like losers, they couldn't even beat a team like Brentford. For Liverpool, even though they played quite badly, at least they managed to get 3 points, this is very important for them to move up to the top of the EPL standings.
We couldn't even beat a team like Brentford you say, seems you're underrating the Brentford side that won Manchester united 4:0 this season and also disgrace Chelsea last season winning us 4:1. If you watch the game, you could see how direct they were in their play and if not for the brilliance of Kepa again, we could have conceded. Again if you observe the starting lineup you'll get the idea that we didn't come into this game to win as we can't be playing that squad and expect a win. Potter just wanted to manage this game in the best way possible and not risk playing our starters for the 90mins then go lose awfully to Manchester united that we're playing this weekend. A draw is fair in that match as both side did deserve something, we could see the difference when out main starters were substituted into the game. We became more direct and almost got a goal for ourselves. Brentford had to retreat to defending as the attacks were coming in from all angles. Also do note that Chelsea aren't their self again, we have lost Reece James to injury and just like last season when we lost Chilwell to injuries things mightn't be going smooth anymore. |

I didn't even see Messi in the list for Ballon d'Or. It was really interesting in my opinion. Ronaldo was there but Messi wasn't. But even if Messi was also in that list the winner wasn't going to be him for sure.
Messi wasn't on the list this year because he didn't deserve it, he wasn't himself last season but this season he's on another form and would definitely make the list and might probably win it again if his side in the national team wins the FIFA world cup and PSG wins the champions league, his individual performance will get him the win if both competition aren't won. Both achievement aren't impossible as his side in both competition are capable of winning both tournament. Real Madrid have a mental steel, they were able to get out of the pessimism that was initially not too superior to other top-top teams. in this season too, Real Madrid is not the most favorite team because the current trend of hype is more on Manchester City and PSG.
The fact that Real Madrid is consider an underdog always surprise me. In those matches they play, all were less experience them Real Madrid both on and off the field. This season as well, Real Madrid might silence those not considering them favourite. For a competition you have won 14th times I think you should be favorite even when you're off form. Real Madrid don't play champions league to compete, they play to win. Them and other top side are at advantage of lifting this year trophy. Where others have brilliant individual prayers, Real Madrid has both the individual players and experience that the other team will be lacking. |

Wait a minute, didn't Gonzalo Higuain retire from his international duties in 2019?  As far as I know, he was playing only club football and now he has announced that he will be retiring from club football as well after he ends this season with MLS. Again I might be wrong. But that's what I know. My bad I just remembered, he did retired from international football in 2019 and now club in 2022. Overall it was an awesome career for him and we to watch him play. I didn't follow his career at MLS but I'm to believe that was decent as well due to the kind of player Gonzalo Higuain was even when things weren't working out so well for him at Chelsea, you can see the players determination to make it work. Good luck to him again. Almost a year Steven Gerrard train Aston Villa but until now there was no good progress for this team and since against Nottingham Forest i have already heard this rumour but until now it just only a speculation and so far Pochettino linked to Aston Villa still remains rumours because there is no plan from management will be sacked Gerrard in the near future
Before the Chelsea game Aston villa were unbeaten with draws and you could see the frustration from the fans as anytime Aston villa passed the ball back when they could advance, the speculators complained and this gave the players more encouragement to advance forward and almost got rewarded but thankfully Kepa was in form to stop all their efforts from going in. I won't call Steven Gerrard a bad coach, and who knows he might just do well with a better side like Liverpool. If he eventually get sacked, Pochettino would be a perfect replacement and that'll be a good job for him as he needs a low profile club so his efforts can be appreciated and not when he wins people say they expect him to win but when he lose they say he shouldn't be doing so with the quality of players under his disposal. Mane may not be recognised in the way he should, but the truth is that we the fans knows who Mane is, how he has contributed to every team he has been. We all know Mane talent is raw and good. Even if what he was award is not the best for him. I still congratulate him for the award, it is not easy.
I was happy when he was leaving Liverpool but not happy with the club he went to. Liverpool underated Mane and were the causes of his problem of not been put forward as a world star, the attention was always on Mo Salah even when it was clear Mane was the better of the duo even though Mo Salah was the goal scorer but before there is a goal scorer, it means the players behind him are putting on some impressive display to create such chances for him to score. Mane would had opted to go to La Liga, that club he went to isn't taken as a serious club. I don't even think there has been a Ballon d'or winners in that club history or probably Mane would had stay in premier league to him any of the big six win the premier league and the champions league then there wouldn't be anyone against clowning him the best player in the world as his influence would be felt in any premier league top side he plays in. |
