agreed.

I really dont get it ... why dont the bagholders buy the coin at this price ? I have already buy more then 300k BURST ... it is the first coin that can be mined with HDD and looks like nobody care about low energy bills ... everyone like to pay a lot of $ ...
because look how many coins are produced every day Wink

BURST will never come back to 500 satoshi.
My 2 cents.

lol, no offense, but your 2 cents are WAY off.

I will be buying as soon as I possibly can, Just had to shell out 4 thousand dollars, so my cash is a little low right now. But trust me, I would totally be buying if I had extra btc lying around.
2303  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 10 X Antminer S3 0.55 BTC/EA | 4.4 TH for 5.4 BTC! on: September 19, 2014, 06:34:03 PM
I sold two so far, and have more interested PM's atm.

A bit slow, but still looking for sellers.

One month has passed and you are still selling them Huh

Prices change over time, if you waited a month of course asic prices will drop

0.55 BTC ? wish you gave me that rate before when i first requested :p

I am still interested, but I don't know exactly when I will be able to make my next offer. Still watching thread.
2304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.2 on: September 19, 2014, 05:47:03 PM
I've got a problem.  I switched back to solo mining on 10.43 TB of disk space a few days ago, and have received no new BURST coins.  I realized last night that even though I am using the solo miner, somehow I am still mining in a pool and have about 70,000 BURST coins in a wallet with a different BURST address.

I have only ever used one made up password, which created one long chain of numbers to access my wallets, but there have been a couple different 12 word strings for those wallets.

I only have the 12 word string for a wallet with 45 coins in it.

I do not have the 12 word string copied anywhere for the wallet with 70,000 coins in it.

I can go into my wallet with 10,945 coins and type the BURST address in the search box to see how many coins are in that 70,000 coin wallet, but how do I get into that wallet to get those coins into a wallet I can access?

And just as importantly, how do I change the code in my config file of what I thought was a solo miner to really be a solo miner?

I don't know why I am taking the time to answer you, but here goes...

it seems to me that somehow you got assigned to a different wallet address, how? I have no idea...

what you need to do , is go to your localhost:8125/rewardassignment.html and assign your passphrase to your own burst address, then you should be ready to go.

That should be all that needs to happen, you will see a transaction from your account of 1 burst, to yourself, after 4 confirms, you can solo mine again.

Come on people. Plenty of room left

http://burstpool.ddns.net

Set your reward recipient to BURST-7CPJ-BW8N-U4XF-CWW3U and start mining

I'd give it a shot... but I'm not sure my plots are plotted correctly... :-/

If you mined another pool and it worked. It will work here too

Well I mean all my deadlines seem to be in the millions and billions.  You don't want useless shares, do you? Smiley (see post at the top of the page)

Unless I'm misunderstanding...

I am not sure, but I think that doesn't represent the deadline.

Well I tired with my java pool miner from dev's v2 pool and the windows miner you have in your "how it works" section and both give me a "null" error. :-/

You have to use  dcct's java miner, or uray's C miner. It's a uray built pool.

For all of you with pool problems. Come join http://burstpool.ddns.net

A dynamic DNS host, which implies you're running this on a home ISP connection.
Really amateur. Not trustworthy.

I'm mining here, and so far so good, I can see my stats, etc. I have over 30TB there.

I am currently mining on Dev V2, would I have to do new plots to use this pool?

First you need to get any of the miners that are compatible with uray's pools. So, dcct's modded java miner, or Uray's new C miner.

Then, move your plot files to the plots folder of the new miner

set your reward assignment to the pool's addresss

set your batch file to the pool's address (the web address)

run.

that's it!

People, I am the on who runs burstcoin.info, but I really need content. ANYONE who has any idea about burst and can write it down, please post it so I can put it on the site! Especially for the what is burst bit, I need a little help here! SmileySmileySmileySmileySmileySmiley

I'll give you 2k burst(i'm a poor boy) if it's a real nice piece of writing(my discretion, so don't go an cry if you send me some trash and i don't pay you)

I've got ya man. I'll help you cover paying people for stuff.
2309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.2 on: September 19, 2014, 03:04:31 AM
this new pool, any special configs?? or just change the address?

All you have to do is use the same miner you would use for the cryptoport pools. I just threw another 30+TB there, so the pool will be finding more blocks Smiley

Well obviously ive realized that im not getting .55 but i think 125 shipped is a little low. And noise wise its not quiet but its nothing crazy, i sleep in the same room as it. I would take $200 shipped(inside the US) and throw in a cx750m

I would be willing to do this right now if you take paypal, I have positive trust here, as well as a good rating on ebay with 100% feedback. verified paypal address, etc.

let me know. Thanks!

Oh, lol for some reason I completely overlooked the fact that it was with a watercooler and case... haha.

and free shipping LOL

Yea, in that case, definitely worth it, especially seeing btc prices.  Undecided

All this being said, I would be interested in the processor alone, if you would part it out... and I would have to wait a little while, probably a week or two... as I have done a lot of spending lately. lol

Honestly man, it's not worth what you're asking.

The board is worth maybe 40-50 bucks, and the processor is like 60 or so?

That's probably why you haven't gotten many bites.
2316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.2 on: September 18, 2014, 07:21:09 PM
I've created an advanced windows port of the dcct's-linux plotter:

Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!DgsWFIJA!H_D0Tg-Laxwp1yvccUwZG8uRx2jgz0IBTTZ91r0IfQA
Source: https://github.com/BurstTools/BurstSoftware

Improvements against the Java miner:

  • At least a 5 times better performance. With a Haswell CPUs up to 14 times.
  • Break and continue a plot a latter time. Please break only between writes.
  • Optional asynchronous mode for writing the plots in the background. Use twice as much RAM.
  • I have only access to Intel CPUs, so I don't know if it is working for AMD CPUs.
  • Setting lower priority class at start up to ease the impact for foreground applications (e.g. miner)

Usage: wplotgenerator <account id> <start nonce> <number of nonces> <stagger size> <threads> [/async]
         <account id> = your numeric acount id
<start nonce> = where you want to start plotting, if this is your first HDD then set it to 0, other wise set it to your last hdd's <start nonce> + <number of nonces>
<number of nonces> = how many nonces you want to plot - 200gb is about 800000 nonces
<stagger size> = set it to 2x the amount of MB RAM your system has (with async 1x the RAM your system has)
<threads> = How many CPU threads you want to utilise
       options:
/async ... writing plots from a background-thread for best throughput (needs twice as much RAM)

Wow, if this is legit, then we have yet another dev willing to help out the betterment of burst, thank you, I will take a look at this when I get home, much appreciated for your support of the community, if this works, I will more than happily tip you for your work!

C++ clone?

could be better yes

Its crazy.  Remember the virus clone?  People jumped on it without a second thought.  I guarantee you many will jump on next clone.  Shit or not.

Yea, without even checking the source even once. Its that "ooh, something new, lets make quick money"-people. Let them go  Wink

Yep, let the dummies walk off the cliff.

It would take something very worthwhile to get everyone to replot their drives.

with gpu is easy to replot, not for me because i've sold them all lol, but the point stand

OR, we could just make a plotter/miner in C for BURST. AND/OR remake the wallet in C if that's a super huge deal to everyone.

I say why not make the existing coin better, rather than cloning it? Add the features you would like to see, to THIS coin, rather than making a whole new coin just for some features that aren't here.

We have the groundwork, we have the good coin, we have people with petabytes of plots, why stop now? Forge ahead, create new tools, make changes, upgrades, fix things!

That's how we do it. Then we get some PR out here, and suddenly people aren't complaining about the prices anymore, and real investors get interested. This is all it takes.

I am helping where I can, and my dev friend has already made a windows GUI for burst for the newbies, since plotting and mining is a whole new style, and many are having issues figuring it out. YEs, there may be bugs, yes, right now it's only solo (we're working on that right now actually) and yes, there will be plenty of changes and upgrades, based on what people in the community want and need.

But this is what we have to continue doing, we have to continue making burst a commodity, something that people actually want, a coin that's easy to setup and mine, and something that's worth buying. Something that someone will want to hold.

Agreed. Another important thing - marketing.

Very well said.

But how do we make that a reality...? A got a feeling we've got a very talanted dev who, basically, works his ass off. He surely can't do everything ppl ask for alone. So how....?

Perhaps the whole Burst project needs to be more organized. Say, with a team responsible for different sections (design, marketing, c, usage, etc), together helping the dev out and improving the coin.

This is a GREAT idea. Let's develop a team!

Also, I have a developer friend who's working with me on the GUI tool right now, and I know Uray and Dcct are dev's working for the betterment of this coin as well, I really think it will continue to grow with our (The community's) help!

I will gladly take part in a commission of sorts, to help the advancement of burst!

any ideas to make this a reality?

Wellllp ive been afk for a few days and it breaks my heart all the rookie bursters are complete fudders now.

Me too bro, but you know, some people are just going to be negative no matter what, I on the other hand will not. I think this coin has a very solid future, and will do anything I can to make sure it stays that way.

That being said, I will pull all my asics from the multipool to lessen the buy support for the dumpers. I don't want them to be able to make a profit from this coin anymore, then they will stop dumping.
