2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 23, 2021, 10:03:17 PM
There is nothing wrong with the England strategy of going all guns blazing in the initial overs. The Indian bowlers were hit left right and the center and made in to pulp. Both the pacers and spinners looked demoralized at that point. But then none of the middle order or lower order batsmen could continue the good work which was done by Roy and Bairstow. They started defending and the Indian bowlers made a grand comeback.
The England opening strategy worked and so is the reason they were able to put a partnership of 135 runs and then loose the next 10 wickets for 116 runs was not the best situation they wanted, the run rate was par with the target but England started loosing wickets at regular interval and India once again pulled off a victory which i thought was impossible when the England openers were dominating every bowler.
2302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 21, 2021, 08:55:05 PM
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly. Had Mohammad Sami or Bumrah been in the squad with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India's bowling lineup would have been even stronger. Apart from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, no other bowler has been able to bowl well in this match. Although Shardul thakur took 3 wickets, but he gave 45 runs for 3 wickets.
If Bhuvneshwar Kumar can maintain his fitness he is always a great bowler but in recent years he is struggling with injuries and if he could overcome that India will be having the best bowling lineup in the world and Mohammad Sami also nursing an injury with his broken hand and hopefully he will be returning in a month or two. With all these absence due to injury we are not seeing Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti which i thought will be a great prospect for India which is sad.
2303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 21, 2021, 07:08:05 PM
Bitcoin was not like a fiat currency where you can have the price of your services right away, and you can use it for buying foods or others but in bitcoin you must know how to use the technology and how to exchange it in the fiat where country you have lived in. Bitcoin can only make a person's life better in terms of financial aspect if and even if he/she knows about the technology, the blockchain or simple know how to deal with it, bitcoin can be made to purchase services and foods but it does need to exchange first.
The initial purpose was currency and then the rest is an added bonus. There are merchants that accepts bitcoin and you can pay them using BTCitcoin and a merchant will get the dollars worth and he can choose to hold or instantly convert them to fiat. Right now if you are international trader then it will make your life better rather than going through the banking hassle as it is much easier to trade internationally.
2304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance smart chain is centralized ? on: March 21, 2021, 05:23:02 PM
I love bsc and its totally backed by binance. Recently heard that this is centralized and nods with binance

What is nods and how become centralized ?
BSC is supported by a single entity and any changes they make will be under their discretion, in ETH there are multiple developers and thousands of nodes while BSC works with PoSA consensus and  they have basically 21 validators and you can become their chain validator but if you are planning to spend money on that there are much better coins with much lower requirements.

You can read further about validators here
2305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The higher BTC goes, the bigger the risk/reward ratio and the less buyers enter on: March 21, 2021, 04:18:40 PM
Some rich people have jumped on this new found digital gold and others like Mr Bill Gates have clearly shown no interest in it, despite knowing about the digital currency...its all up to them , maybe they don't understand crypto but with time as more institutions endorse crypto I think this is when new money will be pumped in from individuals and institutional money to push price up.
Bill Gates made his money through innovation and if he made money investing in the stock market then it would have been a different story, so you cannot expect people like that to invest heavily. The major funds are invested by financial institutions who always identify the smart market to reap the profit and so is the reason billions are invested even when the price is soaring at an all time high valuation.
2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for Nigerian crypto enthusiast on: March 21, 2021, 02:14:50 PM
I stumbled on this just today, am still yet to get further sources, but will be following the news round the clock, to see about the current unfolding of the news.
I stopped searching for these news as you always see conflicting news about the plans by the government, the situation in Nigeria and India has more topic here i believe as we hear conflicting news about a blanket ban one day and about regulating the other day and these news are published in the pretext that the source close to the government has released these plans  Cheesy.

If you stop looking for these anonymous sources then we will be fine, if a government comes up with a drastic step i am sure we can overcome them.

~They will print more dollars, $1.9 trillion for the covid relief bill by US and they can print more for the Olympics Cheesy Tongue.

4 more months to go for the Olympics.
It is not that easy as that sounds, the burden is real and what all policies they come up determines their economical strength.

Just 4 more months and we are not seeing the hype we used to see in the past, i am yet to see the prospects.

~
I am not sure about France, but I don't think that the US will pull out. Recently they announced a $1.9 trillion stimulus. You really think that they will have issues in spending 0.5% of that amount in hosting the Olympic games? Anyway, cost remains a concern for many of the countries. If things go on like this, then only the oil rich Gulf nations will be able to host Olympics (one of them is already hosting the FIFA World Cup next year).
The stimulus package in this scenario is they are pumping more money in the economy hoping everything will be back to normal, hosting an Olympics means more infrastructure, advertisement and other amenities and it will help boost some industry but it will create debt and i am yet to see a positive example of deficit spending.
2308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 21, 2021, 11:39:59 AM
Bumrah and Pandey will be missed by indians in the series. However it a good opportunity for Krishna and Surya Yadav to proof themselves in the tournament and make a permanent spot in the national team.
Is Jasprit Bumrah staying away from the team due to his marriage, he skipped the final Test and the T20 series and now the ODI. Good to see many youngsters getting the opportunity.

As you can see the 18 men squad, already 4 openers are sitting there (KL Rahul, Rohit, Sikhar, Gill). Hard to add another opener in the squad, competition is tough but Prithvi Shaw/Devdutt Padikkal time will come as Sikhar Dhawan seems to losing his charm nowadays. They will move up to the ranks anyway in the next 2-3 years.
I wish Devdutt Padikkal got selected as he was in great form and even if there is no slot in the playing eleven he should be selected as scoring 4 centuries back to back is not a small feat and he is really young and a selection would have elevated his confidence.
2309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: there's only 4 months left to mine ETH / imagine 4 months left to mine BTC 2140? on: March 20, 2021, 06:14:02 PM
The EIP1559 upgrade in July will turn ETH into a deflationary asset while bitcoin will continue to become inflationary.

So after July there will be no more ETH mining, which would be the equivalent of the last 4 months left to mine bitcoin in roughly the year 2140.
Just the words change, there wont be ETH mining but there are staking rewards which means more coins are created, i am certainly curious to see how the staking will affect ETH in the long term as the majority who invest heavily have the final say in the entire network while the rest of the users should follow them and it is a heavily premined coin, so figure out what happens and i am expecting more issues in the future than a positive change.

2310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 20, 2021, 05:23:00 PM
Wtf...  But I could see why the UFC brass chose Chandler.  They want him to be their next poster boy.  He speaks well, fights well and is from a blue collared, working class background..  The kind of guy who most could relate with.
It is not because Michael Chandler is the next poster that he put that fight together, actually he was the back up fighter during Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje and it makes sense to be in the title picture and in his next fight he stopped Dan Hooker in the first round. If working class background and blue collar was a benchmark for Dana Stipe Miocic would have been a super star by now as he is a full time fire fighter and the Heavyweight champion of the world and yet he is not promoted that much.

2311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Elon Musk theory on: March 20, 2021, 04:46:46 PM
Elon musk is more carefully right now because his tweet about Dogecoin is under investigated by SEC. Since every Elon musk tweet about Dogecoin it will manipulate Dogecoin price.
Not sure Elon Musk is playing it safe and i do not think he really cares if the SEC is after him as he has the money to defend anything that is attached to him. Even recently he tweeted about Doge coin, his defense will be he never asked anyone to invest, so you can say that he is careful with the words he puts out  Cheesy.

Right now he's tweeting about NFT, that's why NFT token price pumping and interested with many people.
Musk did tweet about NFT and he was actually mocking the million dollar art sale that happened a few days back and that sale made the market go higher if i am not wrong.
2312  Economy / Economics / Re: Big test for Bitcoin during the next Economic Collapse. on: March 19, 2021, 09:15:38 AM
Bond yields are rising in the United States. This is typically a sign that inflation is rising, or will rise as well. Although there are some “analysts” that foresee the bond yields to go back down again. They might be right, but they might also just be calming everyone down. Cool
You cannot trust these analyst and everyone will be having their biased opinions. During the last economic meltdown everyone was laughing at Nouriel Roubini and other who predicted that a global economic crises is inevitable and just two years after that the fucking banks filed for bankruptcy. So if there is someone who predicts these with some believable substance then you need to have your own back up plan as well if everything goes down.
2313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 09:23:35 PM
Cut some slack to third umpire, do you know how tough is to take shitty decision and stand against the rules of logic.  Grin
The flawed logic is since the field umpire who does not have a clear view of the catch gave them as a soft dismissal while referring to the third umpire and even the third umpire in his eyes cannot see the ball landing because he might be thinking Malan has extra long fingers than normal and then it was inconclusive to make a decision so that the on field umpire decision stays should change as the on field umpire has no clue or view about the catch and with these technological advantage they should not make these blunders.

Even a school kid would have the insight what a third umpire did not have in this decision Cheesy.

2314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 18, 2021, 06:55:28 PM
retiring being a champion and without loss makes Khabib a legend but him being that young will always welcome a match whenever an offer is good enough. win-win for Dana too.
The legacy of Khabib is how he dominated elite fighters and the debate everyone will be having is how he got hit by Michael Johnson once in his career and the next debate is Conor McGregor winning a close round when he took a break in the third round and that too in the toughest division in MMA and to be undefeated when no one in the history of MMA cannot have that kind of dominance and now he announced his retirement and now everyone will blame that he someone escaped getting an undefeated record and if he continued he will get defeated eventually  Cheesy .

In his interviews he says that a fighter can be in his best shape only once in his life. He already was in that shape. Means if he returns, he wont be as good as he was, and he doesnt not wants to be like that. Also there is not a single fighter who would he be interested to fight against.

Long story short - it is Islam Makhachev time now Cheesy
I saw the interview, what Khabib said is that there is an age limit to be an elite fighter in lower weight division and he was referencing Tony Ferguson and then he said if he is 37 he will also have his limitations. The plan of Khabib was to focus on Islam Makhachev and if not for his dad's sudden demise he would have fought a couple of fights and would have retired when Islam Makhachev reaches the position to fight for a title.
2315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 05:25:55 PM
The match is on the line as England needs 46 runs from the last 4 overs and they still have Ben Stokes and Morgan in the crease and if India could pick a wicket now they will have the advantage and put more pressure on England.

Any opinion about the blunder of the third umpire on Suryakumar Yadav dismissal, the ball clearly was not caught cleanly and yet the third umpire gave him out as the video evidence was not conclusive because the on field umpire gave soft dismissal. They need to change the law to mandate soft signal from the field umpire as there is no way they could see that catch in the boundary.
2316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: where the sounds of supporter comes from? on: March 18, 2021, 12:44:36 PM
I see something strange on Premier League Everton vs Burnley look exciting

anyone know where the sounds of supporter? when you look inside, there is an empty attribute, nothing the audience. I guess they use sounds on background.
The background sounds were used during IPL (cricket) last year and to be frank it was really irritating as they play that on a loop even if nothing interesting is going on, i have not seen the match but in Football there is no delay in action and i do not think it will be that irritating if they are not panning the empty stadium while they play the background sound.
2317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Becoming a Store of Value on: March 18, 2021, 10:36:37 AM
Do you think Ethereum has potential to become store of value? Why or why not?
Whenever a coin reaches a point which has a transaction charge which is unreasonable for a normal investor do we start calling them a store of value  Cheesy. You can point certain properties as a store of value but the one function that it fails miserably as a store of value is the N number of coins in existence as there is no limit for the amount of coins that can be minted so it negates that entirely.
2318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scams in Google and Apple App Stores on: March 18, 2021, 06:13:06 AM
I guess the problem comes with quantity. The sheer number of apps on both of those platforms makes it hard (if not impossible) to have them checked and verified before being published. Unfortunately, I don't see a way that those platforms can apply more security, they can only act when the scam is discovered. People will just have to trust their own research before using any of those platforms and maybe check on this forum once in a while because for posts like this.
Google and Apple should employ people to review anything that is listed in their platform rather than acting after a scam took place. It is much better in terms of customer compliance and it will save a fortune for their customers if they can monitor all the application that is listed in their play store.

The only option right now is to report them and if anyone can create a thread here is scam accusation about fake applications we could report them in groups and take them down ASAP before anyone loosing money.
2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game 💰 Postponed 21 on: March 18, 2021, 02:59:37 AM
Japan has already build the stadium and 99% ready to go prior to the pandemic, so they have invested billions of dollars already and they need to recoup that. Perhaps not with the full capacity of spectators, but at least 50% could be a good bench mark to at least recover from the high cost of hosting an Olympic games. So they need fans definitely, Olympics games without spectators? that's unprecedented.
The pandemic was unprecedented, Japan invested billions for the big showdown and it is unfortunate what we are going through and i am sure they will allow spectators after through test and they might allow visitors that are vaccinated and then everyone following the protocol would make it safe in papers. The only problem is that the number of athletes for any Olympic event is over 10,000 and how they will manage to keep everyone in a bubble.

It is going to be a huge task and historically the host nation does not recover the amount they spent and they end up in debt, Athens Olympics is a prime example and everyone is aware of the financial struggles Greece had after that and Japan is spending over $35 billion and the delay means they need to shell out extra $3 billion and it is a financial disaster in the making.

Apart from the huge expenses involved in constructing the stadiums and other sports facilities, I can't think about any other negative from hosting the games.
There is a debt the people should pay while conducting these games which means the taxes goes higher and it might even take decades to recover that loss. The prime example is the number of countries interested in bidding for the Olympic games and you will not find many countries throwing their hat especially with the financial struggles after the pandemic and i wont be surprised if France pulls out of the 2024 Olympics or the US from the 2028 Olympics.
2320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 17, 2021, 06:06:56 PM
I dont know the current situation in the US, but is it allowed to gather in such a big crowd right now? What about 2-meter rule?
About the fight - previously, Masvidal was on a short notice (if I'm not mistaken 10 days only) and managed to break Usmans nose. In social media, Masvidal likes to display that, saying if he had a full camp, he would have bitten Usman. Now he has a chance to prove that Cheesy
Dana White is always hoping for a full capacity crowd for a long time even though he says his business is doing well even if there is no crowd. Last time Masvidal was on a short notice and he needs to fight with a full camp and we will see how he will handle with a full game plan. Usman's game plan is not secret and this time he might not try to stand and fight for the most part as he knows the dangers as Masvidal is a good striker.

Some news surfaced regarding the Miočić / Ngannou fight. It seems Usman will be in Ngannous corner. I don't know if I really see a benefit to it. I doubt Usman is coaching him, maybe he showed him a trick or two but besides that, this just seems like more moral support than anything else. Ngannou has serious holes in his wrestling and I don't think Usman's presence there can fix that, at least not to the level it would require to stop Miočić's takedowns. Guidance and ''helping out'' are not enough.
Ngannou and Usman are Nigerian bothers and so is the reason Usman will be in his corner if he is really doing. For Ngannou it will be his last opportunity to become the champion and i am expecting a much better fight than the first one.
