1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT real store of value on: February 06, 2022, 06:16:34 PM
I don't think that NFTs are real store of value because they have no liquidity and volume, how can one say that NFT is a real store of value when you can only sell if anyone is willing to buy, the advantage that a good alt coin have over NFTs is huge this is why I don't like the buying and selling idea of NFT or there is more I don't know about?.
The art market is a crazy one and i never understood why someone would spent that money money for an art, i understand they wanted to preserve and have their private collection but i would not spend millions for a painting or any form of art let alone digital art in a blockchain. I purchased them just for curiosity sake and people are willing to spend huge amounts in the NFT market and they might have their own reasons.
1462  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for Feb on: February 06, 2022, 05:07:56 PM
~
I also don't see Bitcoin smashing the ATH within the month or even within the quarter. But if this current rally will only rest for a quick sideway movement before it resumes rallying again, it is indeed possible that the ATH will be smashed by next month. But that is already a very optimistic prediction.
I did not expect the market to recover like this in a short period of time and now maintaining above $41k is fine with me. I am not assuming the price to trouble the all time high valuation in the near future but if the market could stay afloat around these valuations then it would be great but my doubt is that the institutional investors will book their profit whenever there is a market movement and that is what i am expecting this time as well.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 06, 2022, 10:28:57 AM
What happened to WI today? Are they playing an ODI match or a T20 match with India? 93/7 what went wrong this time? I doubt they will be able to score 150 today if they lose another wicket now. This match is now completely one-sided now and I have lost all my interest in it. Chahal took 3 wickets today and has only given 17 runs and Pollard was out for a duck.
May be they thought they are playing the IPL or the T20  Cheesy .Now their 8th wicket partnership between Jason Holder and Fabian Allen is showing the top order how they can handle the situation, if not the match would have been over earlier. So the first match was an easy win for India and it was not even a struggle and any score West Indies make from this situation, India will easily chase them.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crash is also a chance to change allocations of your coins on: February 05, 2022, 11:59:34 PM
Have you forgotten that is not always rosy in crypto? A crash in price will always occur to shake off weak hands.
Are we to change allocation on losing our profits or to gain profits of our investments? You know, it's better to be "making profits".
That's why is necessary to diversify your crypto investment to potential coins.
It is really good to hear that the market crash always happens to shake off weak hands Cheesy. When you are investing in altcoins then you should be really careful because if you are not following the project you never know that the project owners will be shaking their holdings as well. In the past one year, i have seen many new projects in the space and i have seen the team selling off their coins which is a shady behavior in itself and as an investor if you are not careful you never know what happens in the future.

If you are talking about the top coins in the market then there is a safety net but that cannot be said about all the projects.
1465  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is not at least $75,000 yet? on: February 05, 2022, 11:24:13 PM
Do people here really want btc to be half a million or million dollars?  One issue seem to be if that is the case, wouldn't there be so much rich people then?  Also if say it hits half a million, wouldn't everything be more expensive?  Thus a million dollar home might be double that of even more?
That is what everyone is waiting for, a speculative market where holding is the best way possible to become rich. What i am curious is how long we will see these users who are asking to hold the coins and never spend and what happens if it reaches the target they are looking, they will dump the coins and continue the same process of getting the coins at the bottom and then starts preaching again about the importance of holding  Cheesy.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where is SHIB coin going? on: February 05, 2022, 10:58:08 PM
~
I am secretly hoping it will die but it'll probably just thrive in the next bullrun. Also, SHIB marketcap is $11 BILLION not million. And what do you mean low? The price? What conditions? I am assuming that you know that marketcap is just circulating supply * price. Price by itself is irrelevant
Even i was thinking about the same during the initial stages that the market will die off eventually after the crazy hype but what it showed is that if there are backing from certain exchanges and some gambling sites then it would stay afloat and i think that is what we are seeing right now. Giving drops to some high profile users and now a $11 billion dollar market  Roll Eyes.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 05, 2022, 10:38:06 PM

Ireland is subsidiary of UK, so I don't think they are short in funds. Afghanistan is surely in dire need of funds. India generate major funds for icc but icc must take care of small boards also. If countries continue to exit from cricket world then on whom big 3 will rule ?
If you think that Ireland is subsidiary of the England and Wales Cricket Board what about Cricket Scotland and are the players all getting the same pay scale. Before getting into conclusion you need to understand that Cricket Ireland is a separate body as far as i understand from their official website. Due to political situation and corruption some of the cricket boards are finding it hard to find quality players because all the talents are looking elsewhere to find an opportunity rather than playing cricket. You raise the amount of money they earn playing cricket and you will find talents.
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Celebrities Embracing bitcoin because of Divorce? on: February 05, 2022, 09:20:21 PM
All the celebrities and anyone with money will follow the financial trend and it is not a big surprise. In my country one of the regional actors were raided by the economic wing because he was investing heavily in the cryptocurrency market and they wanted to know everything about his investment which is not a great thing for the general public when you hear people are raided for investing in cryptocurrencies.

Right now it is basically impossible to invest in BTCitcoin without having a trail.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man who lost 7500 bitcoin in a landfill asks gov't he wants to dig it up on: February 05, 2022, 07:11:03 PM
~
He is willing to give the city of Newport in the UK a cut of the bitcoin at a sum of $70 million so to be able to do this with approval of their local government.
This story has been run all around the globe at this point and has alot of people scratching their heads as to why he would need permission to rummage around a landfill site in garbage. Alot of countries allow those who want to go around their local trash site looking for pop cans for recycling or whatever they want to bring out of it. Since it is just garbage there.
Looks like a publicity stunt and nothing else, he threw the hard drive in 2013 and he was in a comma not knowing the price till this time, giving the authorities a cut of the BTCitcoin if recovered is a good ploy but the authorities knows better that the probability of getting the hard disk after years of dumping is an impossible task.

If he had taken this task when he saw the first rally he might had his luck going his way, but now there is no way he is going to recover that.
1470  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India taxes Cryptocurrencies at 30%, what's next? on: February 04, 2022, 11:59:45 PM
There are several cons as 30% is a big share.

Is there any possible way to legally avoid the taxations?
There is no way you are going to avoid the taxes living in India and using the exchanges situated in India. The possible way is that you can move out of the country to free heaven like UAE or other similar countries if you are dealing in huge number of coins and become an NRI and you will get an tax exemption .  Cheesy

It only makes sense if you are holding substantial amount of dollars worth of cryptocurrency.  Wink
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: February 04, 2022, 11:29:18 PM
I forgot to post this earlier but one more ex-UFC fighter Jeremy Stephens is back in the fighting game after he signed new deal with PFL MMA for 2022 season.
He is 35 years old, his first fight was long ago in 2007, his professional record is 28-19, and he will be good addition for PFL competition lightweight division.
Stephens lost five of his last six fights and one was no contest so he needs to come back with a win in PFL.
Jeremy Stephens is famous for the one line counter by Conor McGregor during media event in the UFC "Who the fook is that guy" and he is known for this line after that Cheesy, i really liked Jeremy Stephens and his striking power and he could finish anyone during his day but injuries and age caught up with him and it is good to see him trying other competitions and i still believe he could knockout fighters that are not top ranked.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins released during market crash on: February 04, 2022, 10:57:54 PM
The recent market crash has been a clear example that there are lots of projects that will not be sustainable over time, on the other hand some crypto projects have risen over this difficult time. One Ring  was released on Thorstarter  last week during this chaos and has experienced a 3X already, while having ongoing development. Which are your crypto picks during this crash?
If you think that the market was crashing in the past few months then you are wrong, wait for the big one that could wipe away majority of the money from the market  Cheesy. I know a few projects that are waiting to release their tokens because they think that the market is not that positive to release the coins at the moment and then there are projects that are throwing things expecting things to be fine.

Personally i would wait for an year and watch the market than investing in anything right now, i made my profit during this rally and it is time for me to rest for a while rather than looking for new project when you are not sure about the direction the market might go in the next two months Wink.
1473  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Institutional investors changing the Bitcoin price behaviour? on: February 04, 2022, 10:25:40 PM
~
Do you think as the injection of institutional money increase, that we will see more irrational price movement that are synchronized with global market movements?
It all depends upon how much money is pumped into the market and if you consider the cryptocurrency market as an asset then they will not synchronize the global stock market to the cryptocurrency market, instead i expect them to hedge over the other in case of one market is tumbling and wise versa.

Will Bitcoin still be a Safe haven when institutional money takes over the majority of the ownership of bitcoins and these people start to manipulate it in the same way that they are manipulating other markets?
This is the most volatile market in the entire financial sector and unlike other markets where you can really understand certain market movements it is not possible to even predict when a market moved in the cryptocurrency space as it is purely speculative in nature and nothing else. You cannot call a speculative market a safe heaven according to any economic standards Wink Cheesy.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket betting and experiance on Stake.com (feels unfair, you decide) on: February 03, 2022, 11:33:33 PM
Agree on the fact that my team scored 138 runs in 18 overs..but this is a special case. Where match was stopped in between the first innings and according the scoreline. The opponents had to chase 144 runs to win in 18 overs. Doesn't that mean that my team scored 143 runs in 18 overs? Why would a team chase a score much larger than what the opponents scored? That seems pointless in Cricket. If you think its fair from Stake, that's your point of view and I respect it. I still find it unfair and would like discussion on it. Hence, I do not intend to lock the thread at the moment.
Logically they should have voided the bet because the revised target was 144 runs as you said and the first innings target you predicted is not achieved due to a reduction in overs due to bad weather, you need to talk to the customer support team and convey this to them and see how they proceed with the situation.

I never came across this similar situation or i do not remember how that went because i am placing bets for over a decade, usually when i place a bet i usually check the weather forecast because i messed up my predictions because of the weather situation.
1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: meta is the future ???? on: February 03, 2022, 08:33:18 PM
I personally don't like the idea behind meta. have you ever seen movie: IDIOCRACY? Yes, I don't like when children have TVs on their eyes and enjoying virtual reality. I don't know maybe I'm wrong in  metaverse but I see children locked in their room all day.
If you look in that aspect, that is true. You will be holed out watching all the virtual reality contents and you will see many abnormal kids in the future. That is part and parcel of technology as you will see everyone immersed on their mobile phones and real communication is less and that will happen in the metaverse as well.

Gala will be distributing some tokens on 20th February and the market might react negatively as we are in the bearish market. This is a good project still so do not be scared by the price drop. Keep holding, I myself is waiting for a good buying opportunity.
Why you think that the market will react negatively, even in bearish market some of the coins will move up. It depends upon how the team behind the project will promote them.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: FURY vs WHYTE - CONFIRMED on: February 02, 2022, 10:05:44 PM
Something is not right about the Fury vs Whyte fight because the WBC have given Whyte to return signed contracts by 21st February 2022. It seems the brother of Whyte is saying the fight might not go ahead.

Whyte is after a 70/30 split of the purse and this is getting messy but Fury has been taunting Whyte is typical Fury fashion Grin
It is a fact that Dillian Whyte is not showing any interest for the fight, i doubt it is because of the fight purse because a loss here from Tyson Fury will delay his chances for a rematch against Anthony Joshua and that is a huge money fight for him as well and he does have a real chance to beat Anthony Joshua rather than defeating Tyson Fury, so you cannot complain about his tactics as well Cheesy.

According to his own confession he was told by alleged businessman that 15k was some sort of token amount for new sponsorship, they also sent him tickets so that he can visit them personally at Mumbai. Then he was offered Cocaine at the party, he didn't think much and took it willingly. During their cocaine session someone recorded everything and blackmail game started.
So it was trap set for him and he thought it was a business opportunity and they secretly recorded his interactions so that they could control him later. In situations like these, i can sit here and say he should have approached the authorities the first day he got the blackmail call but who knows what the situation he faced. If i was in his shoes, i doubt i would have done anything differently if i really thought it was a genuine business proposal.

1478  Local / India / Budget blunders: Income from transfer of digital assets to be taxed at 30% on: February 01, 2022, 07:02:48 AM
As the budget session is going on, India Announces Tax On Income From Digital Assets at 30% and there is no deductions allowed and from what i understand during the session, even if you encounter a loss trading cryptocurrencies there is no deduction in taxes Roll Eyes.

Since the session is going on live, the details will be known at a later time, but still i think this is the way moving forward and the hefty tax will force anyone dealing in huge numbers to look for safe heavens.

I know there are some experts in here in the finance sector, so i would like to hear your opinion regarding this and what are their plans moving forward.

Another initiative that is announced is that RBI will be launching its own digital currency  Undecided
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis: Australian Open 2022 on: January 30, 2022, 08:21:44 PM
A big! as we say "EnHoraBuena" Nadal. These three RF_RN_ND are going to continue taking Slam from this new generation that finally with Medvedev in the lead (this can create diatribes) appear as the next generation, this game was ... when a game involving these three greats is trivial , never.

Nadal not only played the final incredible, all AO was at a level that I think surprised, a return in such conditions was not expected.
The performance by Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open can be considered as one the greatest comebacks as i did not expect Rafael Nadal to win after loosing the first two rounds and it thought it was a matter of time Daniil Medvedev to win the tournament and sadly i cashed out my bet at a loss but then after an hour when i check back the game was still going and still i thought Daniil Medvedev would win but the 5th set was incredible and Rafael Nadal winning the marathon of almost 5 and half hours was incredible.

Tennis is in a good place at the moment with younger players breaking through. Eventually when the Federer-Nadal-Djokovic era comes to an end tennis will find new superstars that is how the sport continues.
We are watching the three greatest to ever play the game and there is no one that can replace them in the near future.
1480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payments decline as other cryptocurrencies grow on: January 30, 2022, 07:55:36 PM
Hope this will not affect bitcoin adoption if people that are using it for payment is decreasing?

On the other side, I am thinking bitcoin is not just a coin that can be used for payment, it can be used for asset too.
With the huge rally we had in the BTCitcoin market, everyone is holding their coins thinking of a much bigger profit than spending them for transactions. Expect these situations during a bull market and it would be interesting to see the same data next year when there is a reversal of trend.

~
People that are using bitcoin now are using exchanges and centralized wallets that charge high fee in a way it will also discourage some people to move the coin to a private key wallet.
That is the mistake majority of the users are doing, it is clear that it is not safe to hold your coins in third party wallets or exchanges and even with N number of hacks, no one would change. Always use your stand alone wallet to store the coins and it is not hard to use them.
