How does the lottery work? How is the winner selected, and is it provably fair?
?
Just play in Hi-Lo games and get some ticket or get 5000 satoshi and you can simply buy tickets for 10 satoshi get back every sunday to see the result if you win or not. I don't know where they getting the result for this lottery if it's fair or not.

They are not a fair in the lottery because they never mentioned anywhere how they are going to pick the winner. It looks like they may be choosing the people who they want and one or two public for the low price lotteries. If you can avoid this site for lottery.

You have an option to disable the obtaining of lottery tickets every free roll. You can have then points instead for which you can "buy" one day of bigger minimal winnings. And I think buying the lottery tickets there is out of the question.

Bitcoin 2016: the Year of a Different Rise

It’s been three solid years since this time, and we are still trucking on. During that time when the price was over USD $1,000 a coin, many companies like Mt. Gox were still doing business. Earlier in April the price had rallied to $266 with the small country of Cyprus in fear of bank runs and economic failure. The price then took a steady dive after the European Union swept the crisis under the rug and smashed to a floor of $50 a coin.

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-2016-year-different-rise/

Since they are asking in the article "The question is if 2013 was the year of Bitcoin and 2014 was its worst year, what will we call 2016?" I think we can try to answer the question in this thread.

Well, we can witness the price rising through all 2016 and this is a gradual rising, it's nothing like when Bitcoin went from $200 to $1,300 in the matter of a month. So I'd call 2016 The Year of a consistent rising of Bitcoin.
2323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: December 12, 2016, 09:01:08 AM
India is the best example right now for this thread. A lot of people got their gold and money seized because they had no proof of where the money comes from. Bitcoin might help some because they can buy Bitcoin with the money they own, but what will they do with it after that..? I guess they will ban Bitcoin too, I mean now you're not allowed there to own gold, you're not allowed to own old money, the new bank notes.. I guess over half of the population is now poor. Bitcoin cannot help a country in which the technology isn't even advanced enough and not many people can afford paying their electricity bills.

Probably, bitcoin can only help a country if there are people able to afford and use technology as bitcoin is used only on internet and it does not have any physical existence, so if the people in a country are not even able to pay their electric bills then i wonder how they will use a technology like bitcoin.

I think millions of people in India use the Internet but they are still poor. So for those people Bitcoin for sure can be helpful.

And actually if to talk about those whose gold and money seized because they had no proof of where the money came from, I don't think those people are poor. Poor people don't have gold and lots of money about which they can't explain from where that came from.
2324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I use my small amount for GAMBLING? on: December 10, 2016, 07:17:37 PM
How am I going to use may small btc? Can somebody hep me to use this in profitable earning here..
Its hard to decide if where can I put the risk.
Thanks..

Either you have a small or a big amount no one can really tell you how to increase it with gambling. But one thing is certain though: the bigger the amount you are going to gambling with the more you are going to lose, in the long run anyway. So if you have a decent amount you better not risk it, but you have 100k sats you can try your luck I guess.
2325  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-09] The Rise of Bitcoin in the Wake of Demonetization in India on: December 10, 2016, 04:16:43 PM
In india they will simpeley start using BTC ,,, The gov was probably NOT aware of its existence.
or tought they could control it , and now realizing they released the beast out of the bag.
Gov in India are like in europe non tech people.
India has a lot of tech people that do understand btc , and you only need 1 per family to spread it like wild fire.

I think almost all the governments in the world are "non tech people". All they can do is drinking alcohol and party with high class hookers. Oh, and rise taxes to have money on all that. Unfortunately the article isn't opening for me but from the title I think that's a good news for Bitcoin.

-snip-

Well, it is interesting because the mods are indeed biased but in my opinion it is quite hard not to be biased in any way, doing anything in life. You are always influenced by your friends and other factors.

Let's wait till TheFrog responds about the situation. Taking proof from only one perspective isn't a good thing.

I have never had any issues with mods on PD. As far as I know they usually mute those who ask for tips or spamming malicious links. And even those who ask for tips are muted for 1 hour only. So how exactly StarBruck was "trying to dominate the room"? I didn't get it honestly. Probably we haven't seen the whole picture.
2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to get 99% win chance on gambling at freebitco.in on: December 09, 2016, 05:11:55 PM
I just get a warning on your video link like this

This video is no longer available because the uploader has closed their YouTube account.

I was just a little curious and want to know how it works

I wasn't expecting much from that video anyway, but now I'm wondering why the user deleted his account? Isn't that because the strategy was realy cool and he decided to not share it with others? Smiley Just kidding. No strategy is perfect in gambling.
2328  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fuck your vaccines on: December 09, 2016, 04:58:52 PM
What is the dispute? There are vaccines that help fight diseases. Is the opinion of the other side, doing nothing.I understand that so the dispute is not conducted. To cancel you need something to offer in return.

Exactly! That's not enough to say let's not do it and then die from diseases. If there was a way to avoid vaccines but to stay healthy in the same time I'd vote for that, but all the alternatives are not effective so far.
The effect of cancer treatment is also not 100%. So not to treat? Religion offers an alternative treatment is prayer. Is it a method? I believe that until will not be more effective way you need to use something that is.

As I said before, vaccines are not as bad as some people assume they are. Most kids need them and while nothing better is invented we shouldn't oppose vaccination, kids deserve to be in a good health.
2329  Economy / Economics / Re: Basic income cut in Finland -> trouble on: December 09, 2016, 04:21:46 PM
Hey,

Now i read our goverment planning -$215,89 "basic income" "daymoneys" next year  Undecided
I hate our goverment, they have been eaten they promises, raise taxes and cost of living in
Capital City Helsinki area.   Angry

$215 per day is a pretty good money, you shouldn't be complaining IMO. Where I live most people barely make $12 per day. Btw if your income is low you can leave the Capital City Helsinki and move to a place where the life is cheaper.
2330  Economy / Gambling / Re: New gambling game when you win always (Beta) on: December 09, 2016, 04:01:49 PM
The idea is great.
Just don't false advertise. When you always win?
If you bet 10$ and win 1$ but lose 9$,I don't think of it like a win..

Yes but you aspect win 100$ from 10$, but win only 1$. So we tell you you win always but how much it is other thing  Wink But you win Smiley

Then from this point of view it means that you cheating with users by promoting your site with wrong info of always winning , you meant of always winning but not told that in winning you will be in loss of initial deposit.

Their is no faucet to try your site and their is no FAQ and detail about your games and its fairness, so i wont recommend any of my friends to use your site.

If you read name of topic we in beta, now i want to collect feedbacks. Now we all see what do you need and we already give our developer tasks. Faucet, FAQ and others small things.

That's a nice approach. If there was a faucet I would definitely try to play there. Another good addition would be a chat were mods give tips from time to time to active users. Good luck with your project!
2331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a person has millions of Bitcoin and he dies one day................. on: December 09, 2016, 03:29:08 PM
It will be good if the bitcoin from the dead person can't be take, it will increase btc price 😄😄

It would definitely affect the BTC price if a person has millions of Bitcoins, but actually I think that such a person doesn't exists. Most of the early adopters sold their coins at $200 or even at a lesser price because they were already profiting big time.
2332  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the big whales are not cashing out? on: December 08, 2016, 04:30:37 PM
That question has always been intriguing me. Reading about possible control over Bitcoin by the government, I thought about the ways how they could actually do it. One idea that came to my mind was to print enough fiat to buy all bitcoins existing and get done with it for good. But then I recalled about the top Bitcoin holders including Satoshi himself keeping their coins, and it struck me that they might not be selling their stashes just because of this, for the fear that government could easily buy up all bitcoins that are traded and turn into the biggest whale itself.

How likely is that?

Even printing out unlimited sums of fiat will not make it possible to buy all Bitcoins and that is so not because the guys like Satoshi will hold theirs, but because of the exponential rising of the price in a case of massive buying. So trying to buy all the Bitcoins they will do only good for Bitcoin.
2333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fuck your vaccines on: December 08, 2016, 04:01:20 PM
What about little kids? What about the situation when their hippie parents don't want them vaccinated for the reasons "known" only to them, but the kids need the vaccines?

Then you wait until the kids are old enough to make their own rational decisions.

There are chances they won't make it to that time, you know. Also brainwashed as they are in the communities where they live it's hard to expect they will be able to make their own rational decisions.

I don't know about every case because every particular case is unique, but since it has been proved that vaccines are effective parents shouldn't decide for their children whether to do it or not because people are uneducated mostly.
2334  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: December 08, 2016, 03:21:53 PM
I do not have any source of passive income. Every income I have I should work for. I hope when I have 1 whole BTC that will be my source of a passive income because Bitcoin is rising with time. I'm not going to invest in anything but Bticoin anyway.
2335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: JUST HIT 8888 JACKPOT NUMBER! SEE SCREENSHOT on: December 08, 2016, 02:57:16 PM
I never believed that someone could ever hit 8888 or 10000 And now I never will hit it ever again haha so sad ...

Why are you so pessimistic about the future? Smiley You hit it once you can do it again. I hit 0.00 on Primedice once and I wasn't even playing a lot there, so I know it's possible. Do not risk what can't afford to lose though. Play for fun. Good luck!
2336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: December 08, 2016, 02:39:22 PM
What I like about Bitcoin is that transactions are fast, transaction fee is low and the price of BTC is going up. All of that is true compared to other currencies. Another good thing about Bitcoin is that no government can control it and thus they can't ruin the whole thing. The least important thing to me is the so called anonymity of the Bitcoin transactions because I'm not going to do anything illegal anyway.
2337  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much did you spent in the internet using bitcoin? on: December 07, 2016, 12:43:03 PM
Apart from what I lost trying to trade altcoins I haven't spent anything online yet. Oh, yes, spent 100k sats on a dice site. Since I've got no profit from those spendings I'm planning to not spend anymore, but who knows maybe when I earn at least 0.5 I'll start spending again.
2338  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [2016-12-04]Mining company HaoBTC has launched a hash rate-exchange on: December 07, 2016, 12:12:39 PM
Chinese mining company - HaoBTC has informed about the launch of Hash-Ex, a new Bitcoin-exchange, which offers utilizers the ability to acquire and sell hash rate - parts of Bitcoin mining network. The minimum possible purchase is one terahash; the services are available not only to residents of China, but also to foreign utilizers...https://bit.news/eng/mining-company-haobtc-launched-hash-rate-exchange/

So in other words HaoBTC is proposing cloud mining. I was always sceptical about cloud mining but this time it might be something different. HaoBTC is a serious company so I don't think they are intending to scam their users.

Here's a great thread about them:

2340  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of fashion tv? on: December 07, 2016, 10:58:10 AM
what kind of fashion tv, there is so many channels and commercials can you be more precise? Yeah I enjoy seeing fashion and sometimes I buy the clothing that is
advertised, but I don't like watching it all the time as it gets super boring.

I think the OP is talking about this fashion tv https://www.youtube.com/user/fashiontvhotplus

I like it playing on the background sometimes. Of course I don't watch it all day long, but I like the music on the background.

For background music there are music channels and radio stations. All the fashion shows nothing more than the PR designers. See no reason to watch them. And if someone says he understands those shows new trends that I don't believe.

You may believe it or not but they design what you will be wearing in the next 5 to 10 years. For me it's interesting, although as I said I watch this channel for the background music mostly. I don't like music channels because they promote bands I hate.

Have you seen The Devil Wears Prada btw? Even if you don't like fashion it's a great movie you might like it. Below is one of my favorite quotes from the film:

Quote
Miranda Priestly: 'This... stuff'? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff.
