Do you even know what Bible teaches? No, and I don't care very much. Same with the countless other religious texts. I was a science buff when I was a kid, and (until I went to a school which had a top notch science teacher) I learned almost everything I knew about science on my own. If my science teacher taught me that 'it's turtles all the way down', it would have been beneficial since I would have learned skepticism at a more opportune time. Some say that it is unfair that some kids get a leg up by having a good teacher. I'm not convinced of this, and even if it is true, so what? I mean, most kids are not destined to become scientists, and many eminent scientists cropped up at times and places where education and society was decidedly non-secular. You know it is good to have a skeptical mindset. I teach my kid this. Don't trust what your teachers tell you. Don't trust what I tell you. Figure things out by yourself. If you have questions, I'm here to help, but you have to do your own research. The problem we have now is that some people are trying to reverse scientific progress by bringing up a bronze age science and philosophy to school. It would be ok if they taught it for what it is.
