I've read an article today, and according to it, it will still be Nicholson who will be their import in game 4. Maybe that's the reason why the odds favored the Ginebra and they are now favored by -2.5 points. This is the first time where Ginebra was listed as the favorite, and we all know that game 4 is a very important game for the Bay Dragons as they need to win to even the series.

I have also read that Nicholson won't be playing today because of injury and they will not field Powell as their import so i think that is the reason on the shifting of the odds and this may be a bad sign for those who bet for the Bay Area Dragons as not fielding an import is a sign that they are conceding this early in the series.
Consider the series over already. Ginebra will win the title.

Nicholson will remain as their import but will not play in Game 4? I mean they are in a PBA Finals series, and you will not let any of your 2 imports play. If one of them can play, then at least let them play but they aren't doing it. That alone is a sign that the Dragons are raising the white flag. Anyway, Game 3 alone has many discrepancies and for them, it looks like the referees are favoring the Ginebra when it comes to fouls. Well, they've always been. Ooops!!! Tongue

This Finals series might be over in 5 games. I'm pretty sure the morale of the Dragons went down drastically after what happened in Game 3. They are very frustrated that even Powell and Blankley posted their feelings in social media, and they were fined because of it. For the Ginebra, it's a big achievement for them but for the Dragons, it's just a scrimmage series for them so why bother sacrificing their imports. That's what they are thinking right now.

I was surprised to see the Lakers pull out a win over the Miami Heat. Without LeBron James in the lineup you had to figure the Heat would win easily but that wasn’t the case. Schroeder stepped up and scored 32 to lead them. Adebayo and Butler had big games for the Heat also, but it wasn’t enough for them to get the win as they lost by 3, 109-112 Lakers.
Kinda surprising but more surprising if they will sustain their way of playing against the Heat in their next games.
I mean without Davis, Lebron really needs help from other role players offensively. Good to see Schroeder stepping up in this game and got the victory. Not that many people are talking about the center of Lakers right now which is Thomas Bryant. I believe he is a big help with the team with Davis being absent. He just stepped-up big time on this game and I believe he is a good role player at the center position.

This is where it all goes wrong for one great player. Lebron took years before he can get a championship although he was a promising rookie at the start of his career.
Let's take note that when he is Cleveland on his rookie season, the team are on the bottom team before he was drafted.

The team only changed and become better when Lebron came to Cleveland. Well obviously, 1 player can't change the whole team from a bottom team to a team who will get the title in just one year. That's the reason why it took him years to get a title and I believe that's also the reason why he decided to leave Cleveland. He believes that he needs another all-star to win that's why he went to South Beach alongside Wade and Bosh and there, he got 2 titles.

His rookie season and its succeeding year really is a very good season to him. It's just that, he doesn't have enough players around him that can help him win that title at that time.
2383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I made some years ago on: January 05, 2023, 08:53:48 AM
I'm pretty sure we all have the same mistakes that we've made years ago.

I didn't lose the Bitcoins that I bought thru a pyramid scheme, but I lost the Satoshis that I got from faucets in a cloud mining website that turned out to be a scam. It might sound funny but if only I kept all of my earnings in faucets and decided to hold it until now or at least at the peak of 2021, I might've earned some huge money for free just by solving those captchas and holding it for a very long time. Unfortunately, I was a newbie back then and I learned from it. Aside from that, it's also my last time that I tried to do faucets and didn't do it until now.

For sure, we've all made some huge mistakes in the past. Things like "A friend introduced you to Bitcoin years ago and you ignored it..." or "I sold my Bitcoins that I bought years ago and if I held it for a longer period of time, I might've got more profits..." etc. We can't control it anymore because it's the past but what we can control is our future. Learning from our mistakes is the best thing to do. Making better decisions for the future is the best thing to do.

What other factors do you know contribute to form addictive gambling?
In the end, it all comes to how the gambler can control himself.

The first time I read the whole post of OP, I laughed a bit just because on how he brings up that "free alcoholic drink" as the reason why he lost too much money. At first place, he can just ignore or not to get those free drinks if he really doesn't want to, right? If he didn't try those alcoholic drinks, will he lose his money? I don't think so unless that man is really addicted to the point that it doesn't need alcoholic drinks just to empty his wallet.

Overall, self-control really is a very important trait especially when you are gambling. Knowing when to continue and when to stop is a big thing. Not having a self-control and discipline will lead to these kinds of things. Wallet getting empty, savings being gone because of gambling etc.

Now with regards to other factors that can contribute to addictive gambling, I believe peer pressure is one.

Now leads again to the argument that NBA today has no defense at all.

Personally, I would say that today's NBA can't be compared to the past where hard defense is really a big thing. But is that really a defense or is it just that players today just evolved and got improved where the offense is way more efficient? Thoughts?
Even analysts are also saying that today's generation isn't the same as where it was in the 90's.

During the time of Jordan, you can see the physicality in their games. Sometimes there is blood coming out on them. Players are very physical that if they play in the current era, you will just get ejected immediately. Referees right now are softer. The league is more focusing on offense more than defense that's why we are seeing players who are scoring more than 40 and sometimes 50 in a single game. I just saw an ESPN video hours ago saying that the '98 Finals against the Jazz and Bulls. On that whole series, no team scored more than 100 points. That shows how tough it is to score and just how they are playing defensively

We can also say that there is much talent right now with the players that's why they can put up these many points. Players got evolved and they are into "Offense wins games" mindset where they will be focusing more on offense. Just look at Gobert. He is the perfect example of how defense is almost non-existent right now. Gobert is a very good defender and won DPOY in the past but lacks offense and now, he is having his worst season in the Timberwolves (and I also consider it the worst trade).

Players right now are more focused on offense because you can't win with defense alone that's why you need to be better on offense as well.
2386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 04, 2023, 02:20:19 PM
Just a quick trivia. 50 of the 78 teams who won Game 3 in a best of 7 PBA Finals are winning the whole series. Well, I just saw it while watching the whole game. They just flashed it on the screen, and I just shared it Smiley. Quite a high percentage indeed, but there is still a chance for the opposing team.

Congratulations to the Gin Kings for their comeback win in Game 3. They are down pretty much the whole 3rd quarter and there are times that they are down by double digits, but they climbed back slowly in the 4th quarter, and they outscored them thus, getting the victory. With this win, I remember how the Ginebra also made a comeback against the Hotshots and the Beermen during the eliminations.

On the other hand, Nicholson, Zhu SongWei and Blankley all got into foul trouble and Blankley got fouled out and that might affect the whole team. I'm worried if Nicholson can play in Game 4 after that ankle sprain in the final seconds of the game. There are questions that are coming into my mind. Can Nicholson play in Game 4 and if not, will Powell play for the first time against the Gin Kings. Let's wait on Friday and see which import the Dragons will use. It would be exciting to see Powell playing against the Ginebra for the first time Cheesy.
2387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2023, 01:58:05 PM
I simply don't know if Jazz are awful or if Kings are good this season.... because Jazz had a phenomenal start of season by going in 1st place and having a massive winning streak and since then , they are in free falling that seems it won't stop soon. Then , we have Kings who have been at the bottom of NBA for quite some years now but since they got Sabonis , the entire team kinda changed and I don't see them missing the play-offs anymore and this can be a massive boost in moral for this team but also for the city and fans. Cool
This is what I'm saying at the start of the season. Teams that are at the top spot right now will not stay on that spot and vice-versa and that's what's happening right now, and I guess many knew it already.

Like you said, the top spot Jazz at the start of the season is now on a freefall and the Kings who is at the bottom at the start is slowly getting into the top. The best example of this scenario right now is the Nets. Just look at them at the start of the season. They started 2-5 and after that, they fired Coach Nash and Coach Vaughn took the coaching position and since then, they are performing really well and currently they are on a winning streak. Coach Vaugh even got the coach of the month award for December which is very nice and that might boost his morale to coach his Nets team even better.

Teams will not stay on the top and vice versa and we near at the half of the season so let's expect more changes with regards to the standings. Teams on the bottom still has a chance to reach at least the top 8 or the play-in position and those at the top might still fall and worse, they might be out of the top 8.
2388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2023 be another up year for Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2023, 06:37:41 AM
If you will just look at that picture that the OP has shared, you will see that there is a pattern and if we follow that pattern, we will see that 2023 will be up and that's good to see. However, always look at the other side of the story and always think that the past performance doesn't tell its future performance. What might happen in the past might not happen in the future.

As for me, I'm a believer of cycles especially the 4-year so I expect Bitcoin to go up this year or at least higher than its price before entering 2023. On the other hand, even though I believe that it will be going up, I'm always ready if things will not go the way I expected. We might see Bitcoin going down in 2023 and that will break the pattern OP has shared.

I believe that 2023 will be much better compared to 2022 but that doesn't mean that the worst is over. We might see more negative events that will affect the whole market this year. We don't know so just be ready.
2389  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 04, 2023, 03:17:18 AM
I wonder how ordinary people around the world felt the worsening economic situation in their respective countries. I know that although many are very much aware of the soaring inflation, nothing has changed much in their day to day lives. I can observe that in some families. They seem oblivious of how the prices of basic goods and services are rising in double digits.
I just came back from a travel 2 days ago and went to a mall and I'm agreeing with what you said.
Many people still are going to a mall, spending some money buying some stuffs even though the prices are really expensive. People are spending almost the same as it was a few years ago when the inflation is still aren't that high. Nothing really has changed with how people are spending their money despite the rising prices of commodities and the things that we need.

From my household, however, we can literally taste the economic downturn. It feels odd and sad that we have to sacrifice taste in order to somehow cushion the impact of the economic problems my country is facing. Onion here is already hitting $12.57 a kilo. Depending on the size, that's about $0.63 apiece. Cooking an ordinary dish for a small family requires a bulb or two. During this holiday season especially, we normally need tens of onions. That's not affordable anymore. So we had to greatly reduce the use of onions and try not to care about how the dish would turn out. On ordinary days, onions are even removed from the ingredients.
We came from the same country, and I already feel that the prices of Onion increased that much that there are some people who are preferring either to lessen the number of onions that they are putting to their dishes, or to not buy onions anymore.

I know OP that you know what happened to the price of Chili years ago Cheesy. It's the same as this one and there's not much difference on it. Prices of Chili at that time spiked to almost $20 per kilo IIRC. Now people are posting pictures of Onions painted with gold color on Facebook. Cheesy

I had to share this here because it feels like the economic situation has already affected the most basic need of everybody. It seems insignificant because it's only a spice, but I thought that if the economic situation is already affecting everybody's taste buds, it could mean things are getting pretty serious.

I wonder, especially in other countries, how drastic is the change in your daily life that's brought about by this economic downturn?
I felt the downturn of our economy when we tried to budget our money to have some food to eat this Christmas and we saw how expensive foods this year are. Last year, we can make at least 7-8 dishes in Christmas but this year, we used the same budget, and we can only make around 3-4 dishes. The effect of inflation really is too much especially for average people who are working just to have money to be used in their daily lives.

The good thing though is that inflation in the US is going down already and that affects the global market. Even though I don't expect that 2023 will be a fruitful year for everyone, I'm not expecting as well that 2023 will be as harsh as 2022. My advice to other people is that, as much as possible, be frugal and save money and if you can, invest as well.

Sarili niyong gastos yan LogitechMouse kapag natalon kayo? Nung nag mercenary ako dati sariling gastos tapos may pabaon lang na DS. Mga 6M yata binigay ng former server.
Yes, yes sarili naming gastos yung Gold.

Dun sa former server namin which is 73, yung mga leaders ng alliance namin, sila ang nagdedecide kung sino ang magjujump sa ibang server para tumulong sa HOF makuha ung Castle. In exchange, bibigyan sila ng rights para makapag world boss ng around 1-2 weeks ata tapos may sahod silang either DS or Mystic/Darkened Stones.

Well, wala kaming magagawa kaya nilalabanan namin. Dumating na mga ibang HOF sa 134 at panigurado may mga pupunta jan na mga high PS sa mga susunod na buwan. Nagsabi na rin kasi si Brother Long-gadog na sasakupin yang Asia 4.

Donovan Mitchell!!
71 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists.  Shocked 7/15 - long-distance shots. My oh my, he took the game to overtime where it's almost a white flag game.
Then dominated the whole overtime and snatch the win away from the Bulls.

The highest point made since Kobe in 2006 was 81 points. Mitchell is now listed as the 8th most points in NBA history tied with David Robinson. Wilt still holds the highest at 100.
Absolutely a monster, he found his zone and the Bulls didn't expect that. They chased a 21-point lead and flipped the game.
Include also the one that only Mitchell is holding right now.
He's the only player in NBA history who got a 70-point 10 assists in a single game.

On that night, 5 players exploded including Thompson, DeRozan, LeBron and Embiid. I believe that this trend will just continue until the end of the regular season. Players will just explode for more than 40+ points. The league right now is more focused on the offensive side thus, teams right now are scoring way higher than where it was years ago. Anyway, Mitchell for MVP?? What do you think?

If your friend would tell you hey bud I have 10k in BTC lets try to make it 65k. You play on the casino for me.
How would you play? what would be your game pattren?

Id probably do 1 game of black (20k win) then one game of roullete with 10 numbers = $65k profit.

what would you do
Poker, roulette or probably on dice. These are the games that I might choose if he will give that $10K to me and I'll play for it.

Well, let's remove the scenario where he will sue you if you lose the money and the like because in reality, no gambler will give that huge amount to other gambler and will let him/her play. That's pure stupidity if it will happen in real life.

I don't any other games aside from those 3 games and since the OP said that it's on the casino, I'll play on those 3 games. If there are sports betting, then I would rather go sports betting.
2393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 31, 2022, 01:55:35 PM
How about LeBron James tonight. Even Kevin Durant had to tweet about the performance for the old guy. He put up 47 points on 66% shooting from the field and 75% from 3-point range to go along with 10 rebounds and 9 assists. A shame he didn’t get that last assist for the triple double just for the extra effect. Great to see the second oldest guy to touch the court this year still getting it done.

To be honest, I bet against the Lakers as I think that the Hawks are going to win at their homecourt. They even take a good 10 point lead if I'm not mistaken in the first half. But suddenly Lebron has that one of the nights wherein he is on the zone, almost a triple double.

Still though the record of Kareem is for Lebron to break this season, the way he is scoring and playing at high level even at his 20th season, could be the one of the greatest achievement in NBA this season.

I don't see that coming too. I was in the impression that Hawks will protect their home court crowd, but LeBron comes out and bring
the challenge in his shoulder.

What a nice gift to himself in his 38th birthday, I see in him that he's really aiming to break Kareem's record and that's not by far with
how he is playing the game.

Stat's wise he's really capable in breaking that record.

Age is just a number for Lebron, I also lose my bet in this game as I was thinking it will be an easy win for the home team. Just like how the Heat beat the Lakers, I was thinking of the same outcome, unfortunately, it was the other way around. Congrats to Lebron, he still look like he is on his prime, his production this season just prove that he still has a lot left in his tank.
Lebron still has it. The only problem is the players around him.
Obviously, he can't carry the team by himself already but with him plus other all-star players and role players, I guess he can still win a title.

Lebron can still put up 20 points per game like how he was a few years ago but the help from other players isn't enough for the Lakers to dig those wins. Now they are at the 13th spot and with Davis still out, they will remain at the bottom spot. Breaking Kareem's record is achievable this season as long as he will not get a season-ending injury.

FAUCETS!!!!!!!!

Patiently waiting every minute, I'm opening more than 20 tabs in my google chrome browser 5 years ago and spending my time answering those captchas just to get a few satoshis. What did I do with the Satoshis that I earned? I put it into Eobot (a cloud mining website) and I purchased some mining power thru those Satoshis that I got. I'm just happy at that time knowing that I'm just starting to learn crypto and I'm earning some Satoshis for free. What I didn't know is that Eobot isn't profitable and all of my Satoshis are gone.

Right now, I'm not doing it anymore because I don't have the time to do it and I don't like it but I'm just happy that I earned Satoshis thru faucets.

Yes you are right that mate 7 foot tall guy in Bay Area is a nightmare of barangay ginebra as we all know that if they go to a man to man defense they can not handle the center of bay are all they need here is make a good team work if barangay ginebra will go for defenses a tight defense will be recommended. And in terms of offense all they need this that make the ball faster in rotate so that they can find their open teammates and fire for the free points.

They are not using him so much because Ginebra can easily make an adjustment and they love to run. This big man will make the play of the Bay Area slow and that will be taken advantage of the Ginebra especially on the fast break. He maybe so dominant in the center but with Ginebra good strategy on denying him the ball, he cannot be effective.
Their big (Liu) really is a monster on the paint because of his height, but the problem with that one is their pace will be slower once he's in the court. Like @Kelvinid said, Ginebra wants a fast-paced game and putting a big like him against the Ginebra will just be a disaster for the Dragons. Even the big players of Ginebra can run fast especially in transition offense.

This is also the reason why they are putting Nicholson as their center. At least with him on the center position, their pace is much faster.

I'll be on the Gin kings side this upcoming game 3, I believe that they will show good adjustment to win the game.
Basketball is a game of adjustments.
You lose, you will watch the whole game and then adjust. Right now, it's harder to know who will win in Game 3 TBH. I want to bet on Ginebra on this one, but the Dragons are also capable in defeating them. Ginebra will win if they will help Brownlee on offense because that's their problem in Game 2. No help from others offensively.

Investors and the project owners.

This year, we didn't see any good thing about the market. All we saw is a bunch of negative events that affected the market thus, the bear market happened. LUNA crash, Axie Infinity scam, lots of hacks, the recent FTX drama etc. If there are some good things that happened in the crypto market, it isn't enough to cover up the negative things that happened.

The sentiment of the investors towards the negative things that happened in the crypto space is one of the main factors as to why we are in the bear market that's why investors are also the ones who are responsible for this bear market.

I'm actually frustrated when the Nets freed Steve Nash but somehow, it turns out that it's like what the team truly needed because they are going on a straight line already ever since the season started. Although, they still have some struggles, but they are bouncing back impressively after every loss they've got. These new Big Three of the Brooklyn Nets will definitely bring the team to the playoffs and with its role players, together they can achieve much further than what they did last season.

Steve Nash does not have any experience coaching prior to his stint with the Nets. Maybe his lack of experience is the cause why he was not able to control his stars and coach the Nets properly. But I hope he would not stop coaching. He just needs to work under great coaches and get some experience and maybe someday he will be a good coach as well.

Hopefully, Ben Simmons will get back to his old self soon. He is slowly getting there. If he does, the Nets is a championship-caliber team. It is not enough just to get to the playoffs. With talents like Durant, Kyrie and Simmons, their aim should always be a championship, nothing less.
Stan Van Gundy getting fired when he was the head coach of the Magic back when Howard is still there is more frustrating than Nash getting fired. The Magic fired Van Gundy just because of Howard and his bad attitude compared to the Nets where it's a mutual agreement that they will fire Coach Nash.

I give Coach Nash lots of respect because he managed to coach 2 superstars in his first year, He lacks experience when it comes to coaching, but I guess he did a great job coaching the Nets. It's just that, lots of drama happened around the team to the point that the management decided to fire him and find another coach which is really a good thing for the Nets because of how they are performing this season. I don't know if there will be any teams that will hire him in the future, or he might get hired by a collegiate team but nevertheless, he's still a good coach for me.

With regards to Simmons, seeing Simmons back to his old self when he's still with the Sixers would be better but even now that he isn't on that level, the Nets are still doing great. It's because of the role players who are stepping up on both offense and defense. They are now at the top 10 on both categories in the last games. As long as KD and Kyrie are on the Nets, they are a championship caliber team still.

Great performance by Zion in a big win against the Timberwolves, they seems to be having a hard time overcoming this team. But there were stretch in the 4th quarter wherein Zion was the one carrying the team and scored 13+ points straight including a steal with a dunk and then the free throw for that big W at home, 43 points for the big guy.
Zion really is a very different player. It's good that the Pelicans kept him despite not playing that much in his first years. Trusted the process, gave him a good contract and now in his first year, he's doing it all for the team.

At the start of the season, I guess many including me are looking at the Pelicans as the team to watch out this whole season because they really are a team to watch out for. Good all-star players, good role players, great defenders, good shooters. They have it all. On the other hand, I will only say this to the Timberwolves. The Gobert trade will come out to be one of the worst trades in NBA history. They are doing better with Gobert out and there was a time where they are undefeated when Gobert isn't playing.

How about the Nets winning 10 straight. That seemed like a pipe dream a few weeks ago. It seems like they’re starting to get it figured out. I’m glad because KD is too good to not get another chance in the Finals. I hope this is his year because I’m not sure what his future will look like. He seems to be setting himself up to be a bit of a journeyman in his final years in the league.
Credits to their coach for how he is handling the team right now. In his first year, he is coaching 2 all-star players in KD and Kyrie and Simmons who just came back after not playing for more than a season.

10 straight wins. They are on a hot streak. Look out for this Nets team because they might take the top spot after few games if this continues. Currently at the 2nd spot, they are just 2 games behind the top seeded Celtics. Let's see where the Nets will end up before the all-star week.
