241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal Experimenting with smart contract !! on: March 05, 2021, 03:19:56 AM
I guess they don't want Elon Musk Getting all the head start. I wonder what kind of project are they going to do though? What's this "super app" that they are referring to? because from what they've described it, it's going to be one of those third-party wallet app that accepts cryptocurrency and can be use for services (like coins.ph) globally.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Ethereum classic can be hacked, what is stopping someone from doing it again? on: March 04, 2021, 02:47:08 AM
I've actually been interested in getting some ETC classic because there is a finite supply.... but... what is stopping a hack and I lose my funds?

Well, it's not as easy as one, two, three. The reason why ETC had their security compromised is because of their negligence. They didn't actually take into account that someone would 51% attack them (because it's really really rare), and some rich guy really did. And I think at the time, the mining difficulty of ETC was half of its peak which made it more easier to attack.

I think ETC is actually the first crypto I've seen that suffered this. To be honest, I wouldn't trust this cryptocurrency.
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another month of March on: February 28, 2021, 12:33:49 PM
I will keep this short, we all know how month of March do not favour bitcoin at all, bear market started ending of February and today is the last day of February, hope the market will not still go downside? I do fair the month of March because bitcoin and generally all cryptocurrencies do suffer in price declination during this time.

What you think this coming month (March) will bring?

Nothing to worry to be honest. Looking at the picture above posted by Lucius, it looks like every negative returns in March, it's always being followed by a positive return in the proceeding months. Isn't this good? we get to weed out weak hands temporarily and buy cheaper Bitcoin for us Grin.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUSD Vs. USDT on: February 28, 2021, 11:09:41 AM
I have permission to ask in this thread, why is BUSD different from USDT?
and why many are choosing BUSD today than USDT according to what I see.
Is that true?

There's not much difference between BUSD and USDT since they are both Stablecoin that is 1:1 with USD.

I think the reason why people is choosing BUSD is because Binance is one of the most reputable exchange and they are audited properly. That makes BUSD safe and preferred by many. USDT on the other hand was shady in its early day, even now there are some speculations that they are faking their audits and they aren't really backed 100% with USD, some are physical and digital assets. I'm not into USDT that much though so I can't say for sure.
245  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo speech at economic summit on Friday on: February 28, 2021, 10:50:05 AM
What confuses me is that they decide to ban bitcoin in the first place before implementing any regulation on cryptocurrency. This is not a good move at all because it can make the whole crypto market and ecosystem in this country become stagnant for an eternity time. According to his words, I can understand that the authorities are working as hard as they could in order to approve new laws and this prove that his understanding of cryptocurrencies is quite astonishing

It's probably because the majority of their government are against cryptocurrency which is why the banning happened before regulation and there's the minority like the Vice President who supports Bitcoin. Well you know, it's the majority who always wins and the government controls this. Still, at least we have someone who is in a very high position that promotes cryptocurrency. It's a start.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who leads the frontline for the war against Bitcoin vs Government on: February 28, 2021, 10:41:55 AM
Is there even a war to begin with the government? It's not like all the government in the world is against Bitcoin. There are some but that doesn't mean Bitcoin is in trouble from all those bans and restriction. They can do that but there's really no point since people can still use Bitcoin whenever they want, people just need to be sneaky of course. Nonetheless, there's a lot of government who supports Bitcoin now.

Anyway, who's this government you are referring to? because I disagree that your government is doing within their power to stop Bitcoin because if they are, you wouldn't even be in this forum.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain "cleanliness" analytics on: February 28, 2021, 03:08:20 AM
I don't know if you can do that but I do know that you can check a wallet if it's from a criminal or no.

I think you can use https://scam-alert.io/ to do this. Though you can't directly check the coin, you can at least check the wallet where that coin came from and the other wallets history of that wallet. Although it'll be tedious but at least it's something
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this still a good time on: February 27, 2021, 01:08:33 PM
I think you're just in time. All cryptos right now just had their correction so this might be a good time to invest again. Just look at the market right now, they are recovering a little bit. Though it might take weeks or months again to beat another all-time high. Don't listen to the panic sellers who's telling you that it's a bad time to invest. They are the preys of the whales.

Always "buy low, sell high" not "buy high, sell low". Also, don't get FOMOed
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SV will die and it will be deserved! on: February 27, 2021, 12:48:05 PM
Sorry but i dont think that will ever happen even if he dies. Unless people will stop mining this altcoin.
it's hard to take down Bitocin SV unless the SEC go against just like they did to Ripple,

There's no way SEC would get involve in BSV like they did in Ripple because if they did, they can do the same with Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies. Let's just hope that one of this days, Will be jailed for all the lies, false documents, and false accusations he cooked up against the Bitcoin community. I mean, he's one step closer by admitting that he is hacker and a criminal. I'm sure once that person's gone, BSV will follow.
250  Economy / Economics / Re: The bitter reality on: February 27, 2021, 04:42:33 AM
Don't lose hope. From what I've heard, it's only the Central Bank of Nigeria who is against Bitcoin but their SEC is actually willing to adopt cryptocurrency. Who knows, maybe one of this days the government will actually try to do something about this that banks can't go against. It's unlikely but I'm sure the people of Nigeria wouldn't just let cryptocurrency go.
251  Economy / Economics / Re: How billions in pandemic aid was swindled by con artists and crime syndicates on: February 27, 2021, 04:22:57 AM
And they have the audacity to blame Bitcoin for being used in illegal activities when they are losing Billions of dollars in fiat to these criminals.

I know this type of criminal activities isn't new BUT how come they have this loose security? Imagine 100 Billions dollars stolen right under their noses, or perhaps it's done by an insider? because it seems that someone has tried to hide the reports regarding the funds until it reached this absurd amount.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi's new attempt to attack bitcoin on: February 27, 2021, 03:57:21 AM
Well, I dont know what to say about this man anymore. He truly wants to prove that he is Satoshi Nakamoto by any contrivances. However, the more he try to attack bitcoin and its network, the more bitcoin become popular. SO does it really necessary to stop him from doing things like that?

Yes, I believe someone should still stop him. You might not be getting affected but his legal actions are really a bother. He is wasting the time of the developers and he is fooling the newbies with his lies. Though his most recent evidences are just trying to make him dig deeper his own grave by admitting he is the owner of the hackers wallet of Mt. Gox
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi's new attempt to attack bitcoin on: February 27, 2021, 02:33:46 AM
Faketoshi back at it again. Like what is this? trying to take legal actions on the developers of Bitcoin? but who is this developers that he is referring to then? since Bitcoin is an open source. Also what's this:

Quote
“the fact that someone has stolen Tulip Trading’s digitally-held private Bitcoin keys does not prevent developers from deploying code to enable the rightful owner to regain control of its bitcoin.”

I don't think that's how it works, no? you can't just magically deploy a code to let the owner of that said stolen Bitcoin to get their Bitcoin again. This guy really needs to go with his shenanigans.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull run is over? on: February 26, 2021, 02:09:34 PM
Not yet I think. This is probably the biggest correction we have yet since 2021 and it's actually expected since Bitcoin has been going up tremendously this last 2 months. There's going to be more bumps from now on especially regulations are tightening up and countries all over the world are either banning or legalizing Bitcoin. It's still a roller coaster out there.

Anyways, this recent dump might be because of Elon Musk and that recent Nigeria issue that's going around lately. Just some FUD to get cheaper Bitcoin again.
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc dump today and yesterday on: February 26, 2021, 01:34:56 PM
Can't complain. More dumps to get cheaper Bitcoin. I mean, do you expect Bitcoin to go up forever? for me no, so I consider this dump a healthy correction. We all saw that Bitcoin can go $57,000, and that's not even that high considering that a lot of countries are still reluctant on cryptocurrency regulation. This is pretty normal. Just don't look at the market if your stomach can't handle it.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Satoshi Nakamoto hide some private key........... on: February 26, 2021, 04:36:03 AM
Would Satoshi Nakamoto hide some private key with stored bitcoins hidden in this or another forum?  Cheesy

It would be interesting if he did  Grin

It's very unlikely. If he intended to hide some private keys with Bitcoin in it and he wants the community to find it, then he should have hinted that there's some. So far there's no evidence or at least some clues about this and most of his post are about Bitcoin development.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth gas fees and investing on: February 26, 2021, 03:21:09 AM
I don't think it will sink Ethereum because as you can see, even if the fees are absurdly high right now, there's still high demand on it. Ethereum itself isn't the only driving force behind its recent pump, it's also the altcoins in it. Though there's certainly a negative effect on this. For example, some projects are actually migrating to other cheaper and faster smart chains since it's affecting their performance.
258  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase has filled for going public on: February 26, 2021, 02:51:48 AM
Coinbase has filled the paperwork to become a publicly traded company. Contrary to other exchanges, that operate with a certain secrecy even "in the dark", Coinbase had followed a compliance strategy focused on gaining the trust of the traditional finance world that allows the company to now file to go public. This paves the way further for the institutional money to enter the BTC world.

It's not just institutional investors that they will attract. There's also a possibility that it will spark confidence to other smaller investors too. The fact that SEC is actually acknowledging this means that they are willing to adopt cryptocurrency. Would be cool if you post the article link though.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with Binance Coin? on: February 26, 2021, 02:01:47 AM
I think it's just supply and demand. Ethereum can't provide what people want right now which is faster transaction and cheaper fees, Binance Smart Chain can do that. The fact that Binance is the largest exchange we have right now and that they actually made it easier for ETH projects to migrate to their chain means that they'll have people flocking to them in no time.

It's a smart move for Binance to provide these, especially the demand for cryptocurrency is at it's highest this year.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone over here accepting Crypto as payment ?... on: February 25, 2021, 11:40:13 AM
I think most merchants who accepts crypto or Bitcoin uses services that converts Bitcoin to USD immediately, that makes it viable. Others probably use third-party wallet apps (Like coins.ph and Abra) to receive Bitcoin or other crypto because the fees are either cheap or free. Anyway, are you going to make your own service that accepts Bitcoin as payment?

Using actual wallet to send or receive Bitcoin is not viable at all, at least for now.
