1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scammer caught tortured and killed. on: September 03, 2019, 12:42:17 PM
That's messed up. Millions of money are involved and it's a gang, so I think they are used to it when it comes to harming other people. So I think when it comes to killing another human being they will have no sympathy. Greed can control just about anyone as long as large sum of money is involve.

Although I won't get involve in this kind of situation ever because this is criminals' affair, it's still scary to think that this type of thing is happening. This is the reason why it's important to hide that you are involve in cryptocurrency because who knows who you might meet.
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about investments I've made on: September 03, 2019, 01:17:05 AM
Those are not Stablecoins. If you want stablecoin that you can buy in exchanges, why not Try USDT or GOLD. This coin depends on the price of actual price of dollars and gold. In your second question, both of them are good coins but I think Monero is ahead in terms of community support. Nonetheless, I would invest in both coin when I have capital because this coins will follow Bitcoin's trend.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New cryptocurrency - Libra (LBR) on: September 02, 2019, 07:09:52 AM
Ah yes, another project named Libra. You know that people are not that stupid to fall for another scam just because it has a Libra name in it, right? I suggest that you just stop it. You'll only waste your time and effort.

To all those people expecting it to progress, please stop being delusional. You can already smell the scam behind it a mile away. Just look at that awful webpage, no professionalism at all. Even the Libra image is googled.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antiviruses on: September 02, 2019, 04:45:50 AM
I disagree.

Several user already have been warned from electrum phishing sites (or even from the malware they downloaded from that site) by their AV.
They would have lost their coins without an AV.

is phishing a virus?

it's not, is it?

But it's better than nothing right? Most of the time, AV really helps you avoid old and new viruses from time to time. If you are not a techy guy that doesn't know much about phishing, malware, and alike, at the very least anti-virus would help you secure your computer. I'm not saying AV protects you completely, it's just that it helps. The level of security still depends on the user.
1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty hunting is past it's glory days on: September 01, 2019, 05:31:01 PM
It's possible to make a living maybe if  you are a bounty manager, but as a bounty hunter? It's slim right now. It's not that bad though. There are still projects that pay although the profit is small, you could still make some decent profit.

Maybe with the launch of IEO, bounty hunting would be lively again since the probability of getting scammed in a project that launch in a big exchange is low compared to ICO, choosing those projects to bounty hunt would yield some promising profit.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Says “Bitcoin under $9,500. If you are panicking, you are a fool” on: August 30, 2019, 11:09:29 AM
He's known as a shiller nowadays because of how he pumps altcoins in the late 2017, I slightly agree with him this one though. $9,500 is still a good entry considering long-term investment but when you look at short term-holding, we might see a decline soon in which investors will take an advantage to those who sold early. But still, I won't really trust his words.

On the other hand, just like the others, I'm still waiting for Bakkt to see if the changes will be drastic in price for Bitcoin.
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is official a fraud on: August 29, 2019, 08:03:50 AM
Well played. Now that he's exposed, I wonder what he's going to do next. I'm sure that BSV will really take a big hit this time because of his lies and it will hard to redeem itself again. I wonder when will he drop the "I am Satoshi" case. If he still lies about that instead of trying to redeem himself, the grave that he's digging right now is just going to get deeper.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: IEOs is a game for top exchanges. on: August 28, 2019, 08:21:11 AM
Correct. That's why IEO is the best upgrade to ICO. Compared to ICO where you'll have to wait months before getting into an exchange, IEO will to that for you in no time and you'll also get a nice volume for it. Most IEO will succeed because of the system behind it.

Also, top exchangers will minimize the risk because of how they do the research for their investors (of course you have to do it yourself too). Sometimes, projects will fail but it's a lot less than ICO. It's a win-win for exchanges, projects, and investors.
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why haven't governments illegalized bitcoin transactions? on: August 28, 2019, 08:03:37 AM
I have heard some stories about making bitcoin transactions illegal. It's all been a humor and I don't think any government have officially made bitcoin transactions illegal. Why is that?
Many governments are trying to regulate bitcoin, control exchanges and force people to be authorized. But I am sure government wish bitcoin was not created and there was no trouble of regulating bitcoin. They  prefer their fiat to any other currency.
Why no government have made bitcoin transactions illegal?
I think they want to avoid creating an underground market. They don't want bitcoin to be traded like Alcohol and drugs. They have to accept bitcoin as they cannot stop a decentralized network and now they can only try to regulate it. Do you agree with me? Is there any other things have caused governments to not make bitcoin illegal?

Check your facts first! There are many governments in the world that have made the bitcoin transactions officially illegal. Even though they are mostly from 3rd world but some examples are Bangladesh, Egypt, Morocco, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador etc. and there are some more countries.

Reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory

Governments definitely want to curb the illegal usage of cryptos but they also understand that it is impossible to enforce a blanket ban on bitcoin or any other crypto transactions due to its nature of operation. Some developed countries like Japan or Germany have studied the crypto properly and provided a framework to curb the illegal usage and promote legal usage of bitcoin. There are some countries as mentioned above, taken the easier route to ban instead of providing a proper framework. So it is incorrect to say that no countries have made bitcoin illegal, there are examples!

Maybe he is talking about the government in the western countries like america? because I'm sure that some countries are avoiding the transaction of crypocurrency.

Regarding the issue. There are benefits to using cryptocurrency in the economy and those countries that are utilizing it are reaping it. There's really not much that the government could do though. Even if they illegalized Bitcoin, people would still find a way to use. To that in mind, using it instead of preventing its use is more beneficial to them. It's not like Bitcoin is harmful to people. It just depends on how people use it. Just my thought.
1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sats rather than Bitcoin - will it cause a price pump? on: August 27, 2019, 10:01:50 AM
Well I'm one of those people who use sats instead of Bitcoin because of how easy it is to say and to use. It does make an appeal but I doubt it will be a reason for a price increase. People will still need to find a decisive thing in Bitcoin that would make them invest in it or rather use it in their everyday lives. As time goes by, I think sats will be use more in the future.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what is the future of btc and eth? on: August 26, 2019, 12:21:45 PM
Probably because most of the coins nowadays are being controlled by their creators, for that you can't completely trust it. Unlike Bitcoin where the community decides and supports it with the system already solid, most altcoins die because of lack of support from the developer and from the community. The reputation it built are trust worthy. Also, most coins are just a copy of Bitcoin hoping that it will moon someday.
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why do people lose confidence with ethereum? on: August 26, 2019, 11:58:11 AM
Who's saying Ethereum will die anyway? I think no one. Ethereum is still pretty much strong and kicking. The team behind it is active and it is still one of the most used cryptocurrency in the world. Although the price is declining, it's pretty normal because of how bearish the alt market is right now. I'm pretty sure once the cycle resets, Ethereum will rise again.
1253  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Anong expectations ninyo sa maaring pagbabalik ni YOBIT? on: August 25, 2019, 05:24:34 PM
~snip~

Aw.

1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's bitcoin worst case scenario if Libra will be successful? on: August 25, 2019, 01:44:48 AM
The worst case that could happen is that people will neglect their privacy for Libra. Well I don't think it will affect Bitcoin that much though. They are a completely different coin. It's like comparing Lion to wolf, they are both mammals but different in species. Just like Bitcoin, they are both coin but the other one is stable coin and the other one is volatile. The other one doesn't have any organization controlling it, other one have.
1255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of new POW coins are waste of time on: August 24, 2019, 08:39:53 AM
More like 99% of all cryptocurrency are a waste of time. Most of the time, it's just a copy of another altcoin hoping to get some donations for the project and for a pump. That's the reason why I seldom look into ANN anymore because of how garbage this coins has become lately. I just look for a new coins that is at least 1 year old and a proper community and exchange because this type of altcoin has a chance.
1256  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Anong expectations ninyo sa maaring pagbabalik ni YOBIT? on: August 24, 2019, 04:02:11 AM
Bunggo, Bunggo.

Maraming Salamat Po!

1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What exchange is better than binance? on: August 23, 2019, 09:37:39 AM
Depends on your taste. I doubt that Binance will bankrupt anytime soon because of how big it is. It's one of the biggest so it might even prosper in the future. If you are unsure about Binance because of the happenings lately, try Kucoin. It's a big exchange with big volume. If you want a decentralized exchange, maybe try Bisq. If KYC's not a problem for you, Poloniex is another big exchange.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Founder of bitcoin??? on: August 23, 2019, 03:29:30 AM
Strangely James Bilal Caan claims that he was the founder of bitcoin.. But lost his hard drive.. Is this possible??

What you guys think about James? Why he use this type of statement.. Specially his explanation about his hard drive?

He's stupid enough to think people would believe in that. Any sane developer would make a backup for their project in case something bad happened in their current hardware. He is another attention seeker trying to seek fame through impersonating an online genius. Just like the others who noticed, just ignore him, you'll just make it worst.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dont be surprised if ETH hits 4000$ on: August 22, 2019, 01:15:24 PM
I know for sure that ETH will try to rise again in the future but I doubt it will reach $4,000 before 2021 since market cap would surpass Bitcoin if that happens. Well I think your point is valid because to start, ETH has giant supports in its back, have a team, and a big community. maybe after or before Bitcoin halving, altcoins will try to bounce back again like ETH for example. But before that, it needs to fix all of its mess right now.
1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Game Changer for Cybercrime on: August 22, 2019, 02:00:10 AM
This article states that the World Economic Forum shared that attackers managed to compromise 2 billion data records in 2017 and 4.5 billion in the first half of 108 blaming that Bitcoin could be a big part of it.

Ciphertrace recently reported a $3 billion loss due to cybercrimes and mentioned in their report that BTC still reigns the king of the dark web. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think cybercrime has increased because of crypto?

https://insidebitcoins.com/news/security-experts-tell-why-bitcoin-is-a-game-changer-for-cybercrime/235786

Well it does make sense since the owners of Bitcoin is anonymous unless proven. Not to mention that you could create a lot of wallet now and use mixer in order to avoid getting caught. Fewer steps to transact money and doesn't need any documents to do any cross-border payments.

I don't really agree with you on this. In as much that Bitcoin is widely used by people on the darkweb, it is easier to track down all transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain network and authorities in charge of preventing cybercrimes can take advantage of this to catch people using it for criminal act on the darkweb….

Tracking transaction doesn't really guarantee the identity of the criminal. It's not easier, it's a tedious job to do since they have to find some connections to the owners wallet first, not to mention that there's thousands of wallets now at this point. It's harder for them to track criminals.

What if the criminal divide the money into hundreds of wallets and use a mixer? it would be hard for the government to track more transactions. Then what after? they need to prove that it was the criminal's wallet.

But of course the criminals are not stupid to just rely on Bitcoin for anonymity, they will use some other tools to stay hidden. Not to mention we have decentralized and unregulated exchange that criminals can use. Also, criminals can use p2p Bitcoin transaction to avoid withdrawing from banks.
