241  Economy / Economics / Re: Banking on people's ideas, visions, and talents. on: March 18, 2024, 05:42:50 PM
Idea is nothing until it implemented in the real world, and if you found someone only with the idea then ask them Why they didn't take the next step forward then you will know the struggles involved to make it in the reality and that's what differentiate the success ones are very few and others are living in a life that they don't have any control over it. Cashing out your idea as money itself a skill that very few people successfully managed to make it happen.
242  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 18, 2024, 03:16:11 PM
The cost of things has gone up so much so that it's glaring. Imagine paying 5-12$ for an average meal you could get before for 3$. The jump cost is extremely high. Cooking a meal at home can cost you the same amount you would spend on eating in a restaurant. Funny enough people still afford all these things without complaining. My anger is that we make money to spend it all into our normal life expenses. It's difficult now to save or invest unless you part of the rich people in society. An average man has to just eat, pay bills, and survive.

This is one of the topic that I am always fascinated to dive in...

The reason is simple inflation reduced the purchasing power of the Fiat money so we are paying more to buy the same product that costed less in the previous year. And why we can't save is different and it's due to change in the dynamics of consumerism and people influenced by people to spend more and the concept of saving money, thinking about future decreased to extreme.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: March 18, 2024, 01:33:36 PM

This is what happens when you are addicted to it, to recover from this solution did you made any extra effort like medications and therapy sessions or you recovered just by making lifestyle changes or in worst case you continue to be same but realised this is wrong and giving warning to others?

Most of the time we get addicted to something without even knowing that and we came to realise when it's too late by that time we may be in a place there is no looking back.

I don't think @OP is addicted to gambling, he maybe hooked to playing after working hours and staying late for gambling activity but as we can read, he is able to change his gambling pattern and is able to not use his previous gambling schedule to not get affected in his work.  That is not a sign of gambling addiction, IMO>

There are different levels in addiction, OP realised his addiction in early days so he able recover on its own but in most cases users consider gambling is escaping from their daily stress and something that's bothering who are the one will keep on going and reaches the extreme level of addiction from there it's not possible to go back to complete start is not possible and it need rehabilitation for sure or atleast that's what I saw in every kind of addiction.

Signature campaign is the most effective way to reach bitcointalk users but there are lots of crypto users apart from this forum, so you need strategize and advertise depends on your needs, if bitcointalk is the sole region that you want to grow then start with signature campaign by hiring quality posters and good manager. If you have budget to spend then SEO marketing strategy will take the brand name to many other sites.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 17, 2024, 10:19:10 PM
Cigars and betting in school that's crazy as *uk. Cheesy

I don't remember doing anything like that to be honest, kind of disciplined kid in the school days and then as well, I only used to bet on fantasy that's kind of crooked game still I went to bet because the amount is too good to be true if I actual tops the table and that's happened a couple of times that I consider still a crazy decision.
Each country has a different school system and you can be expelled for doing one thing, but in another country the same thing will only get you a warning. A great example of such differences is the attitude towards cheating on tests. In my school if you were caught you'd only fail the test, but in many schools in the US it's a serious offense.

I am not degrading the education system or OP himself I just imagined how crazy it will be if I were in that situation. The rules are kind of similar everywhere but how serious when it gets implemented in the real world defines the country/educational institutions. Last but not least bullying is criminal offence in US but is there any country where we can say there is complete bully free.

I’m always a victim of this mistake before when I’m still allure on online casino. I keep playing every night after work. I always play until midnight which makes me consume most of my rest time for my job preparation tomorrow.

The result is I don’t have much energy at work due to insufficient sleep and I lose funds on gambling because I keep playing quick due to my limited time. The effect is very disadvantageous to me since I both lose in these situations. This is the reason why I change my gambling pattern significantly that limit me to play only during weekends when I don’t have job tomorrow.

This is an advice based on my experience, don’t ever insert gambling on your schedule if you really don’t have free time for it because it will always result to disaster in both gambling and your life.

This is what happens when you are addicted to it, to recover from this solution did you made any extra effort like medications and therapy sessions or you recovered just by making lifestyle changes or in worst case you continue to be same but realised this is wrong and giving warning to others?

248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners must consider burner wallet on: March 17, 2024, 07:33:29 AM

I'm a newbie and I have been using trust wallet to store most of my assets,is it safe and secured to store my coins using trust wallet?
I'm looking forward to get advice/opinion from you guys.

       Thank you
I tried using trustwallet many times and I didn't encounter any problems or issues at all but the difference between other wallets is that trustwallet is a close source wallet compared to electrum which is an open source wallet. I'd recommend you use trusted and legit open source wallet like electrum rather than using close source wallet. You should also know the pros and cons of close source and open source wallets.

Electrum is only for Bitcoin and for the shitcoins and tokens we have Metamask and that's the best possible option for something OP is suggesting because it doesn't need any extra app, just download the extension set up as many accounts as you want then we can completely avoid risk of wallets getting drained because we gave access to a scam airdrop projects.
249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: March 16, 2024, 08:17:55 PM
Everything changed in the world since 90s era and 2020 era, especially technology developed unexpectedly that led every field to adapt to online platforms that's how online casinos were born. Still gambling online can be fun and satisfy whatever things that you wanted to bet but it has its own cons too and personally for me hanging out in an actual casino is different and that's more fun than online casino.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Scratch Offs on: March 16, 2024, 07:14:57 PM
It's been very long time since I saw scratch of coupons, I thought it extincted, LOL.

Scratch off can be extremely lucky depends on the probability of the winning amount and that's not the case with the one you are talking because it doesn't make sense to spend $1 to win the same amount and it's unlimited money hack for the one who created and selling.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online Crypto-Gambling Legal in a Country Without Gambling Laws? on: March 15, 2024, 05:00:03 PM
legality of online crypto-gambling in countries like the UAE or Saudi Arabia, where traditional gambling is illegal, is a complex issue.
Is Online Crypto-Gambling Legal in a Country Without Gambling Laws?

If gambling is illegal then it applies to physical casinos as well as online gambling platforms, so even if you can access any casino you are risking your money while using because every casino has a term that states users from restricted regions are not allowed to play even if the name of your country is not mentioned in the banned country list.
252  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium showing zero USDT balance, importing seed word fals to recognise wallet on: March 15, 2024, 04:29:11 PM
Can you make sure that the swap you did was successful? Because it's strange to show ETH balance but failed to load the token balance so it can't be a synchronisation issue and also you said you tired importing the seeds into different wallet with no luck so all I can think is the swap never happened due to some reason.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: March 15, 2024, 03:06:49 PM
Not quite the strange as everyone says, if I am not wrong many countries restricted celebrities from promoting casinos and any gambling related activities just like restrictions on tobacco and Booze so the advertising companies may find loopholes like promoting the brands instead of product that will reach the targetted audience. But proposing penalty even to talk about gambling is quite extreme and most likely it will be rephrased by the respective entity that can be applicable in reality.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Online Casinos Publish Their Bankroll? Your Thoughts? on: March 14, 2024, 07:12:12 PM
Letting the bankroll for the public will create security concerns because if it's big amount then the hackers might target more attacks on specific casinos than they usually do and this may result in breach as well so let it be the casino's choice whether the bankroll is known for public or only for themselves.

Another possibility can be making it visible only for top tier players that can satisfy what you are asking and also mitigate the security concerns.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 14, 2024, 05:31:12 PM
There is no fixed criteria for me to stop betting, I may stop when I win and I will stop when I lose as well and I stop when I feel I made enough bets so it's not actually possible to draw a line for everyone when they have different reasons for gambling.
That is the best way to stay safe while gambling,  not relying on any particular directions before you quite gamblung and regardless wethwre you are winning or losing, it sure to walk away regardless and by doung so you place yourself on a better position to embrace the future with positive mindset.

Quote
I want to say when they must stop is, when they are on a losing streak so they can save what's left that's lot better compared to chasing the loss and making more loss then eventually the balance will become zero.
Off course many gamblers will only quite when they record the loses and not winning because on their winning days they believe that they day for the luck is here and they are tempted to continue playing, although the overall outcome may not be favourable to them since gambling is full of uncertainty.

Gambling is supposed to be fun, with all these complex strategies and mind games we are making it an stressful thing, as you said the results are uncertain then why do we have to take it to all the way to our mind and let it down when the results didn't as we expected. Just gamble when you have money, winning is fun and losing is unfortunate that is very common thing that we must used to it to avoid chasing.
256  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What needs to be improved or added to your preferred BTC Wallet? on: March 14, 2024, 03:08:21 PM
Another thing is that still it doesn't have coin control feature to individually select UTXOs for our transactions.
Coin control feature has been added to Electrum on Android in version 4.5.0.

To use Coin control on Electrum Android, you simply go to the Addresses/coins tab and for each address you will see the list of utxo's under it, and you can freeze the utxo's you don't want to spend, and whichever utxo is left unfrozen will be used in the tx you want to make.

Are you sure that it is possible to freeze individual UTXOs of an address on Electrum Android?

I am using ver 4.5.3, and all I can see is the option to freeze the entire address not particular UTXOs as you said in it.

If possible please post a screenshot to see if I am not seeing the options.

258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake on a potential(obvious) loosing team just for love? on: March 13, 2024, 07:38:00 PM
While in a football view centre last night, some of the football fans were arguing with the opposite football fans strongly defending their teams.

There one of the team guy said... Yes we loosed the match but that does not mean I will deny my team for that because the nature of football is that you would win somedays and you looses somedays too.
So he say... I love my team to the core that I will always stand by them and even if it is obvious that they were going to loose a match, I will still bet in support that they would win the match.

Question: Can you have so much love for your team to behave like this guy that even when you know your love fans team would loose a match, would you still further stake on the match against your team?
Remember that we are catching funs here and whoever chasing after profits is at its own will.

Being fanatic or even hard-core fan of respective team doesn't mean you can bet on them even when it's obvious that the team is going to lose, I don't get any financial benefit from a team I love and I choose to watch them because they feel connected in someway to be because they might be playing for my nation and reasons like that.

Stop confusing yourself with you love towards the sport and being a successful sport bettor, if you want to make money then you should bet against the team you love if you find reasons that they are going to win despite its against your favourite team.
259  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need help. I GOT PHISHED FOR 9K ON STAKE.COM on: March 13, 2024, 05:38:43 PM
.
.
I fully told you it was my fault at the end but this matter would have never happened if the data didn’t get leaked and for the hackers to have a lead to go and try to phish. But you need to understand this email was identical to every email I normally get from stake for the monthly bonus and it took me like a minute to realize but by that time they have already tipped the other stake account and gambled it 😅

So yes I’m admitting to me being a dumbass but at the same time this would not happen if stakes security wasn’t shit

How do you know that your data was leaked from Stake? What if it just a random Phishing link sent to thousands of emails and hope some of them are users of Stake?

It is not necessary that someone from stake has to be on the side who phished you, it just need a registration on stake to find out how their official email looks like so the one who sent you can replicate the same just copy , paste and I am defending why you are accusing the stake here when they are not involved in any way.
260  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need help. I GOT PHISHED FOR 9K ON STAKE.COM on: March 13, 2024, 10:52:55 AM
You gave away your stake account access to someone who you assumed that it's someone from Stake asking for account credentials and they emptied your account now you want to take action against stake for all these? Such BS...

You made all the mistakes here and even if someone from the actual Website contacts and ask for details you should not provide at all. You lost your money to someone so blaming the casino isn't gonna change anything.
