...I've decided to start reporting low value posts from spammers as well. Now, posts like "nice project" and "great team" obviously fall in to that category, but my question is regarding one line generic posts. ... Now, all these posts technically answer the question OP has posted, but they certainly don't add anything new or original to an already 30 page discussion. In my opinion, all these deserve to be trashed, but I can only assume posts like these aren't being trashed, otherwise they wouldn't be literally everywhere.
What's the stance on this?
My opinion - worth price paid - is that it is better to report the original post in a spam megathread and recommend deletion or locking rather report individual posts for deletion. The exception would be plagiarism or referral link spam - in both cases the user making the post should be banned.

Is it just me who thinks that OP is not the original owner of this account? ... He has probably bought the account for either signature spamming or something else which is still unknown to us. Look at all those one liners in his post history. That doesn't represent a genuine senior member of the community. ...
Interesting point you raised there, so I scrolled back through the OP's post history and I feel the style and content are consistent. In fact, his second post seems strangely prophetic: There are a lot of traffic from all the world and not all traffic is good for reff link promoting. The best way is very active blog, but even then keep in the mind, that not all traffic will be quality, so the blog must be targeted to some countries.
Keep in mind the merit system was introduced because of people like him - achieving high ranks just by showing up every day to shitpost for whatever sig or bounty campaign they happened to be shilling at the time. Also note that the OP has probably only received 1 merit in the last ~8 months; the other 250 were assigned to him for the rank he had already attained at the moment the merit system went into effect. Consequently, your getting 86 merits in the same time looks far more impressive to me.

Lets say i'm evil, or a pool operator (is there a difference ?) and I know when (where is not a problem) zerg pool dumps coins, I can calculate the bid depth, so lets say I have 1.5btc to sell (you can calculate from pool hashrate and avg difficulty), the last share sold would end up in the order book to a specific point. Example: Market is 800-850 sats, depth 1.5btc brings it to 600 sats. Now lets say I put 0.5btc bid at 605 sats, I would get my fill when the pool dumps. Price may recover after one dump, maybe a bit lower, so you can sell your coins back at 750-800 lets say. Not bad if you do so many times a day on many coins. Its free money, straight out of the miners pocket. edit: not out of mine anyway
Yep, that's a solid plan. There's all kinds of shady crap that can happen in crypto still because regulation hasn't caught up with it. Insider trading, order spoofing, pump-n-dump... it's like the 1920's stock market all over again.

On the subject of websites; the official pool monitoring page on the old intensecoin one stopped working yesterday after both Windows and Firefox insisted I update them on the laptop I use to monitor pools and run wallets. I tried poking around lethean.io but didn't find a pool monitoring page there, as well as temporarily disabling uBlock Origin and HTTPS Everywhere; no joy.
Thank you for letting us know. We moving everything over to AWS, so we will not change the SSL until we finish the migration. You can just use http instead of https on the official pool instead. That didn't work - now I get a totally blank page - but given that a site move is in progress I'll not sweat it. Just update this thread when the move is done. Thanks!

@hilariousetc
I have a question. I reported the user First777 over 15 times within a month.
How much do you want to ban this guy? I have $4.37 left in my pocket
Are you kidding?! First777 is comedy gold! And by gold I mean pyrite... or maybe even a rock spray-painted yellow. EDIT - You just know you are going to find good stuff in a thread asking how to get a beautiful woman: Hello, I have known a very beautiful girl for a long time, nearly six years. I want her but I just can't seem to get it right. When we were younger I was a geeky unfashioned guy, and she was into fashionable skinny guys with cool talks and walks. Over time I lost my geeky uncool side for her and grew long hair and started wearing skinnies and trying to be cool. Now she is not into that anymore. She likes guys who are mature and loaded with money. I am totally lost. Any advice? She just keeps changing.
Started wearing skinnies, you say? Why does that remind me of, "it puts the lotion in the basket"?!

You got negged for promoting a cloud mining service using a referral link hidden with tinyurl. You're lucky you didn't get permabanned for that, actually.
This was in Service Announcements section, so if any forum member want to receive free cloud mining, he can do that via link. I guess you still don't realize that links with referral codes are prohibited. See the excerpt from the rules post: ... Forum rules ... 4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]... But feel free to keep calling me a teenager while you dig that hole for yourself ever deeper.

While I agree this is somewhat of a gray area, note that plagiarism occurs whenever you copy text from elsewhere without acknowledging the source. Also note that it would have taken less work to quote the post he got the text from - thereby automatically attributing the source - than it was to copy all of the text and present it as his own.
I, personally, wouldn't have reported this for plagiarism, but I also wouldn't argue with someone who did.

Did some math with hmq1725 algo and watched buys and sells for some period. Easier on small shit coins to see what is going on.
Nothing good is going on, thats what. I cant prove anything but I do feel strongly that zergpool / pools either mismanages coin selling or is buying its dumps. ...
You are slowly but surely zeroing in on the fatal flaw of all these multi-algo, auto-switching mining pools: they have you mine what is most profitable right now, but sell the coin at a later time when it is often not worth nearly as much (i.e. - because of a pump-and-dump).

plagiarized shit
Ingotcoin strikes again! This shitpost has been used many times, but my favorite example is when it was the OP for a thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3023919.msg31109983#msg31109983Yes, some other shitposter started a new thread with a plagiarized reply from another thread. How stupid can you get and still operate a keyboard?!?

...Creating quality contents and sharing your idea in Meta can also have a possibilities of getting merits...
No. For the love of dog, no. Meta is for discussing issues with the forum itself, not for shitposters to come ply their shameful trade in the hope of ranking up to increases the bounties. And speaking of... ... All of you who are new people may have opened an account in this forum that only earn money by joining this website or forums and vice versa...

Maybe wiping out gpu mining profits, but adoption? I don't think so....
... basically asic builders got so fucking hungry they ate their legs and crippled the industry by doing it. So instead of a gpu kid happy to get a free gaming rig and a few bucks to buy more games you get a gaming kid that hates mining won't use crypto . ... I never thought of this issue in quite this way, but I have to say you make a compelling case here (good enough for 1 of my last 2 sMerits). I would add that the GPU shortage earlier this year also had the same unintended consequence of alienating many who would naturally be interested in crypto. One ray of sunshine: the bursting of the dotcom bubble didn't kill the internet.

shitty mcshitposter shit
I see ingotcoin continues to hire only the best and brightest members for its sig campaign...

i talked to a member of BTC he told me to post in meta and few thing i should maintain. ...
Meta is for discussing forum issues, not for shitposters looking to get merits. Looking through your post history I see an unhealthy obsession with obtaining merits, which, paradoxically, is one of the reasons you haven't received any as of now. And your posts aren't particularly noteworthy, anyway.

After learning about the questionable proclivities of Indians and Fillipinos, I found this unanswered gem on off-topic: You still could go to some industry or some university or the government and if you could persuade them you had something on the ball—why, then, they might put up the cash after cutting themselves in on just about all of the profits. And, naturally, they'd run the show because it was their money and all you had done was the sweating and the bleeding.

Search engine reports says that it is 22% plagiarised. There might be more if one performs a more detailed check. If it is plagiarised, then the account can be nuked.
It's plagiarized from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2901152.0Reported. Aww, snap. I just reported the post, too...

Btw your private pool discord signature link is dead. Can you update/send another one please? Would love to join.
@dragonmike Discord link updated to never expire, I set it that way because I did'nt want alot of people on the pools till we could test stability etc ,we are good now I'm going to be tinkering around with that ProgPoW miner later today and if all goes well I'll point what remains of my Nvidia GPUs over to your private BCI pool. I go by the same user name on Discord as here.

Unfortunately the price seems to still have room to drop, partly because of the overall market conditions but in my opinion mainly because of the millions of coins that have been mined while asics were tearing apart all the cryptonote coins before the forks. ...
I don't think the CN ASICs mined all that much of ITNS/LTHN for the month or so it was possible; I don't recall network hashrate getting much above 7MH/s at any point and, of course, difficulty adjusts rather rapidly to network hashrate, so a higher hashrate doesn't necessarily result in more coins getting mined per day. Ever since the fork to CNv7 the average hashrate has been 2MH/s or less, which results in the mining of about 1M LTHN per day at the current difficulty. A rather minuscule amount, all things considered. Market conditions are, indeed, unfriendly; I'll definitely give you that one.
