241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLAYSTORE and APPSTORE!! on: March 07, 2018, 08:20:55 AM
Even before the idea of using cryptocurrencies as a payment option in Google's playstore and Apple's appstore reaches the tables, both these giants would be quick to rule out the possibility because of two key problems, volatility and instability in price.
Of course this could a good addition from the store user's perspective but the big players mentioned above would never take up the risk of dealing with continuous price fluctuations and other issues that come along.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: AdFunnel Signature Campaign on: March 07, 2018, 02:20:22 AM
Legit rates right there. Might want to escrow a two figure BTC amount with a trusted escrow or nobody is going to waste their time.
Besides, have you asked for permission from yahoo before ripping off his exact thread design?

EDIT: If those are ETH rates per week based on the fact that ETH address is being asked for, moving this to altcoin bounties would be appropriate.

Looks very likely so. DT members should be leaving a red trust once they see this until the account is back in the hands of the original owner, once he confirms it.

245  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you follow trading advice from crypto influencers? on: March 01, 2018, 07:06:24 PM
I'd rather believe and follow my own instincts rather than putting all my faith on a random 'McAfee's' prediction which just creates buzz for a few up and coming projects. Its hard to believe most investors blindly follow their advice without doing any further research about the coin/token in question. I'm just waiting for one of those 'went wrong' calls which everyone will follow like lambs to the slaughter and when they lose thier monies, only then will they realize to trust their own gut before believing in others' advice.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin a Snail/slow coin? on: March 01, 2018, 04:37:11 PM
Can't expect much from a 'copy paste and rename' coin which just came after the father of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin. Even its creator Charlie Lee sold and donated all of his holdings which worsens the situation at hand. With that said, adding up the pace of a snail and a turtle would be a better comparison to throw at Litecoin.

litecoin was launched in 2011 and its still not hit $500.
ethereum was introduced in 2015 and it has grown so much.

By this logic, every coin which was founded in the early days should be in the race for being on the top, while the coins that progressed by showing actual usefulness and applications should not grow at a faster rate? Ethereum is where it is today, only because of its rapid growth and implementation through smart contracts and decentralized applications over the years.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Revival of Bitcoins and alts and your strategy. on: March 01, 2018, 04:05:29 PM
I don't think price fluctuations matters that much to the regular gamblers at all since they do their own thing and always stay ahead of the curve with decent profits at their disposal. It does take a significant amount of time for the crypto market to rebound and settle down at corrected prices but this barely has any impact on the staunch decisions to continue their gambling activities.
248  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Is Contamination - ECB on: March 01, 2018, 03:20:47 PM
A highly corrupt organization talking about economic contamination caused by cryptocurrencies? That's some hardcore irony right there. Let alone the fact that the ECB has been quiet about the accusations against its board members being involved in scandalous issues, all it can do is call out cryptos to be polluting the world economy, which is an outright false claim.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will survive in "cashless society" ?? on: March 01, 2018, 02:29:29 AM
Let's go back to pre-Bitcoin times and see. The only cashless payment options were credit/debit cards which have their own risks when it comes down to online thefts and fraudulent carding activities. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, has been a solution for this long sought out problem. By making payments backed on the blockchain, almost all sorts of mishandles are avoided, making everything smooth and secure.

So yeah, Bitcoin is definitely going to be surviving the cashless society while continuing to soar in price over the years.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investing in alt-coins worth while? on: February 28, 2018, 07:00:19 PM
With the right choice of tokens, it is definitely worthwhile to invest in altcoins, both on long term and short term basis. Take Bitcoin for example which grew massively last year, and yet the likes of Ethereum, Ripple and many other coins outdid the former in terms of percentage growth.

Does anyone actually make a lot of money from investing in cryptocurrencies? Is there a method behind it?

Yes they do. The traditional method goes by the rule 'BUY AND HODL' which translates to investing and holding for a long period of time as they just sit back and watch their investments grow. Alternatively, with so many altcoins in the market, day trading can also be a profitable thing with the right decisions at the right times.
251  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Crypto Social Networks and Networking on: February 28, 2018, 06:29:28 PM
So I would be very thankful for placing here some topic links from this forum (search is not so helpful, believe me) if you find anything interesting to the topic.

Assuming that you're searching for articles to directly copy and post into your so called 'crypto social network' to get your user base going, this forum is a buzzing place to find the hottest and trending topics. Over thousands of discussions are created on a daily basis and depending upon whatever you might find interesting like trade strategies, signals, news and happenings etc.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Central Bank of China (Taiwan) Promises to Implement the Blockchain! on: February 28, 2018, 05:24:16 PM
This is getting to a point where just publishing news of a development which is being planned is enough to be considered as 'good news' to propel the market towards greenery. Yet, nobody considers the possibility that this could take years to develop and implement, being the central bank of a country brings in great responsibility. Moving traditional ledger accounting onto the blockchain while making it foolproof is a hard task in itself and announcing a 'promise' of sorts seems more like an exaggeration than anything else.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Strategy -> Betting early vs. late on: February 28, 2018, 04:14:20 PM
For me, I don't find much time to sit down and analyse sports on the go, especially during live games. Placing wagers before the game begins while being able to salvage decent odds by comparing a few sport books is my thing. The only odd thing that I find in live betting is that the odds are always skewed hard on one side, and in a wager where everything relies on odds, it gets hard win any decent money for the amount of risk involved in overhauling upset.
254  Economy / Economics / Re: did you know industry marijuana will be good future in cryptocurrency? on: February 28, 2018, 03:50:40 PM
Long before there were any other cryptocurrencies other than only Bitcoin, the marijuana market was a thriving place for trades with Bitcoin. This dates back to 2011 when initial black markets emerged, offering illegal goods and services in exchange for Liberty Reserve funds or Bitcoin. The only problem here was the unaccountable scams with quality of items being delivered which was later fixed by adding feedback system.

this is cryptocurrency within the cannabis industry: (Potcoin, HempCoin, DopeCoin) I hope this helps  Smiley

What do any of these contribute towards the cannabis market? Honestly, as long as I see more of them tag-lining and aiming to provide highly quality 'stuff', I will continue deeming them to be shitcoins without a proper cause. Would rather prefer using an anonymous coin like Monero or Dash for the same.
255  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: DO YOU BUY WHEN THE PRICE DROPS SHARPLY ? on: February 28, 2018, 02:29:30 PM
There are a lot of dependencies when it comes down to buying in when the price drops sharply, the first and foremost factor being the resilience of the token at question. Taking Bitcoin or Ethereum as an example, bearish periods are always overturned by eventual corrections and it happens real quick. The rebound in price should have great impact, nullifying the red zone and progressing towards a bull market. Only then will I be convinced to buy during sharp drops while being highly selective with tokens.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Global Crisis, CRYPTOCURRENCY is in danger. on: February 28, 2018, 02:01:24 PM
There has recently been an issue predicting a 10-year global crisis, people are advised not to save a lot of money in the bank, and better to saving money in gold.

Whats your source on predicting a 10 year global crisis? We go through multiple crises throughout the year and even then, the crypto market quickly gets back on track as it is highly resilient. Its a matter of ups and downs like storms at sea, which eventually has to wear out at one point of time.
Back to saving money, why would gold be any better than cryptos which has done much better over the years, while the former has continued to remain stagnant? This is again just baseless speculation which is being propelled as a savior from FUDs.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Law enforcement has a massive problem with these 3 cryptocurrencies on: February 28, 2018, 01:02:58 PM
Quote
Police cryptocurrency experts at Europol and London's Met Police told Business Insider that a subset of cryptocurrencies are associated with criminality.

Monero, zcash and dash have all raised flags.

These three currencies have extra privacy features which can frustrate investigations.

Exchanges which deal in these currencies are also less likely to cooperate with law enforcement.

What sort of investigations do the authorities think they'll be able to carry on? Let's not forget the fact that infamous deep web black markets like Silk Road used Bitcoin as its major payment option and I'm sure none of the these transactions were traced back to find the trading parties, even with the right set of resources available at investigators' disposal.

I wonder if we'll see exchanges like Poloniex drop Monero and Dash, as part of their deal with Circle?

This could be a possibility, only as a part of the deal with Circle as Poloniex wouldn't just delist three big coins which have been doing pretty decent over the years. Trade volumes are also considerably large and they wouldn't want to be missing out on the profit they make on fees.

258  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency pulls country our of tailspin on: February 27, 2018, 06:36:14 PM
At first, we had companies and startups coming up with ICO projects and now, a entire country is pulling in enormous international investments (not entirely legal in the USA) through the same format. Venezuela was always interested in crypto prospects and I'm not even surprised that they would be the first one to venture into a national cryptocurrency. Lets hope this doesn't end up like any other failed ICO.

Do NOT invest in this coin.

It is a shitcoin.

How did it even manage to raise over $750 million on just the first day of the pre-sale? There's more to it than just being labelled as a shitcoin, as this is big money right here and investors are no fools in doing what they do best, investing.
259  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ViewPointCrypto - cryptocurrency portfolio tracker on: February 27, 2018, 05:36:49 PM
Personal opinion, I feel the interface looks a bit clumsy overall. Making it look simple with neater alignments for columns would be a good change. Checked out a few functionalities and everything looks to be working smooth. Taking notes from decent and established trackers like Altpocket and its users would be a nice idea since you're a new website in the scene and it wouldn't hurt to learn about users' liking and disliking.
260  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How low transactions fees could go? on: February 27, 2018, 04:16:20 PM
why there would be any need for Schnorr, Bulletproofs or any other proposal that could decrease transactions size?

Transaction size is also a major factor contributing towards transaction fees. With multiple inputs and outputs in a single transaction, the transaction obviously shoots up in size, and if optimal fees would be like it was a month ago, (>500 satoshis/byte) problematic times of long confirmation times would come back sooner or later. Since nobody wishes to live those nightmares again, proposals to decrease transaction size should be considered even amidst presence of Segwit and Lightning Network.
