Yes, but I think we should have an "invite only" room in Ryver, for those that want to test and share IP, just so we can copy and paste.  It seems overly complicated to seek out 5 individuals to share my IP with.

In this case we won't get small-world topology network. Majority will just use those IPs.

Okay, if anyone can PM me their IP I'll test.

I wanted to get a ether wallet but the software seemed supicious. Isn't there a normal online wallet that does not need to be downloaded?
Yeh, The mist wallet sucks balls, not possible to create a wallet in mist. Some random error occur

I am able to create wallets fine (on dell laptop).  I have 3 wallets and 1 account/contract.
So strange, i want to make a wallet in mist (SIMPLE WALLET), so i can put my ether save from the exchanges, but i get the error "Account does not exist or account balance too low"

You need to send a couple ETH to your "Etherbase" address, then you will be able to create a "wallet"

Really?  Why not just have a node list on Ryver?

Do you remember zombie attack on Nxt 2 years ago? This data should be as private as possible.

Can we get a list of IP's to connect to, or perhaps we can compile the list and include it in the nodes.iota file?

Everyone should find 5 other ioters running node and give each other their IP/domain privately.

Really?  Why not just have a node list on Ryver?

I published Iota 0.0.1 on iota.ryver.com. "All hands" channel contains the link and instructions. Come here to help to test.

Will there be another crowdsale with the unclaimed iotas
Hachoir, I think here can you find the answer to your question.

That was undecided at this stage

I would not count on any Iota going unclaimed, even if there is a small amount, it will most likely go toward bounties and development, not another crowdsale.  The only way to buy Iota at this point will be on exchange or otc
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: January 24, 2016, 03:15:01 PM
No guarantee that it will be on an exchange after the launch. Maybe we are going to wait more than 1 months to have at least 1 exchange that accept IOTA ( It's new tech, exchange need time to adapt their structure to it )

Agreed, it takes time for a stable client that exchanges can use.

When can we test this mother?

Join the Ryver, I got some ideas for you to evaluate Wink

Okay

What was the total BTC value of the ICO (BTC + given JINN token value) BEFORE any bonuses?

rlh, I think this will have all the info: https://www.tangle.ninja/iota/crowdsale

NXT related question for my knowledge: Anyone can be so kind and could tell me what was the top peak ROI of NXT?

I think at one point Nxt peaked at $100mil marketcap, so each Nxt was worth 10 cents.  1BTC in Nxt crowdsale got you 50Mil Nxt and 1BTC was worth about $260 at the start of the crowdsale, but BTC had a quick uptrend to about $800 when Nxt was launched.   Sooooo, theoretically a $260 (1BTC) investment was worth $5mil at the peak.  It was a perfect storm combination that we probably will never see again.

Thanks a lot

No problem.  I think the extreme Nxt ROI resulted in a lot of people calling it a "scam" because there were so few participants in the crowdsale.  You can almost draw a direct correlation between ROI and scam accusations.  It's called the "missed boat syndrome"  Smiley

Now back to IOTA discussions!

Check the genesis, please:

Unclaimed Iotas Fund (50+ entities) 101 193 117.999999999

What will be done with/of the unclaimed IOTAS?

Hopefully they will be returned to their rightful owners as IOTA now will get more exposure again through launch, media and events. But if some of them end up not collected within the next 60 days, they will be used to boost IOTA. We'll decide in conjunction with the IOTA community on how to best spend them, whether through bounties, faucet or whatever.

Make a new crowdsale to sell them again with the same rate

I would be shocked if there is any more than the equivalent of 1BTC in Iota that goes unclaimed.  Participants have another 60 days to collect, so I wouldn't focus on what's going to happen to those Iota.  I would focus on how to improve adoption of Iota at this point.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: January 21, 2016, 05:01:59 PM

Hm, wait. It's just an example, not the limit. No need to redo the genesis.

Edit: Anyone speaking native English here to review?

Yes, the 5% was just an example stating what you would get for your participation in crowdsale.  It's not a limit and there was no limit on how much someone could send during the crowdsale.

Edit: what David just posted above  Smiley

Correct for me.

R3 connects 11 banks to distributed ledger using Ethereum and Microsoft Azure Grin Grin Grin knew this last week  Tongue

They forked Ethereum and will run their own private chain. Its great exposure but I'm not sure it actually helps other than to get minor publicity for the original Ethereum.

Yes, they forked Ethereum for testing.  But there is rumor they would like to be on a public chain, so who knows at this point.  Regardless, it's good news for Ethereum legitimacy.

I can inform that we're in dialogue with several exchanges, yes.

Great, well let us know if you need help with "requests to add Iota"
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: January 20, 2016, 04:45:56 PM
So, what's the time frame until we can actually go and get our iotas then? Also anyone from iota spoken to poloniex? I know a lot of us have put in a coin request with them but it would be great if they could be contacted officially by you guys too... if the coin is popular and sought after on the markets then it can only be good news in terms of supporting the project with its value Wink.

now that crapsy is down all the volume is polo.

exciting times... looking forward to seeing what this all looks like as it unfolds

Smiley

Polo and btc38 should both be priorities for listing Iota, it will need to be a community effort to help list.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: January 19, 2016, 06:31:00 PM

CfB, it is true, perfection can't be reached. But perhaps you feel that something requires substantial amendments, I mean, maybe really is better to give devs more time to optimize the code? Maybe the community will be agree, may be it is better to move the deadline by one or two weeks?

I think, in this case, as some people have said, the first impression is very important.

He can make improvements with future client releases.  It's important to release this beast into the wild as network effect is important as is testing the client.
