Why Only 1000 bytes for arbitrary message?

An arbitrary number was taken.

But how can someone send a file? I can only split but with a 2 MB files became impossible

Think Torrents

I have a few 500GB SSD's ready for Nxt storage!

He's busy with NEM.  Question for CFB; Is a Reputation System being developed by JLC or You? (or plans to develop)  I was going to offer a bounty for a working version, implemented using public AM.

Reputation System is not going to be implemented in foreseeable future.

Thank you.

WTS 50k NXT, PM your offer. I want to sell that quickly.
Scammer.

To be a scammer we need to scammed. Who I scammed ? For you Patel every "newbie" or "Jr member" are scammers, just read your posts. If you don't want to buy, don't buy I don't care, I will sell my NXT anyway because I do a good price, not like super-greedy-full-member in this forum. I'm not here just for the monney, for my god “Dollars”, you know. I'm here because I want to share  cryptocurrency.

So far I have 100% accuracy when I accuse people of being scammers. Just saving people from getting their btc stolen.

+1, unless you are a major trader with history here, most likely a scammer by your intentions.  Why wouldn't you trade on Dgex or Bter?
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 05:11:37 PM

Guys, u were talking about splitting the bounty to 4 parts. Did u come to a decision? If u r agree to split the bounty then I won't spend time on speedtests.

Well I wouldn't mind. We all spend a lot of time coding. I guess hoax and gimre don't mind too, but I haven't heard Jaguar's opinion yet.

Ok, let's wait for Jaguar.

Hey all

I read apenzl post and I agree with most but I think a real important aspect is
KEEPING PEOPLE IN THE LOOP
These forums are so fractured. We could be like the NYTimes, simply by pushing a report out every day

Example for this weekend

Price breaks $0.10 on Bter, Dgex
-------------------------------------
NRS 0.5.9 holds steady and stable
-------------------------------------
NXT Voting initiatives being worked out
-------------------------------------
One Click client expected April/14
-------------------------------------
etc..

and once we can roll this into AM and distro it through the blockchain, all the better. but for now a mail client would be best

Cross OS One-Click client is going to be here first week of Feb, not April.

NEM NXT is the first 100% Proof-of-Stake (PoS) currency

Small correction on your OP.

Is Vicurex a prominent exchange?  I hadn't heard of them before.

They're top tier, and likely if it goes well on Vicurex, we will see Nxt on all major exchanges.
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT - Imagine Fairness! on: January 21, 2014, 02:23:53 PM
I'm interested!  Smiley

NEX open source from the start. Why would anyone prefer the closed source alternative? (NXT promised the sources for January, they now say April; it will probably never be fully open source. This is too bad for serious money)

Haven't you heard?  Nxt is a proprietary closed source coin disguising itself as 'open source'.

We've already decompiled it and have a running version of it.   One reason it is closed source is because the code is plain horrible.

In fact, the entire experience is horrible.  People can't get their clients to sync,  people lose wallets all the time and it is so common for the files to become corrupted.  I'm not making this up,  just head over to the Nxt threads.

Anyway, that's why the 1:50 Nxt to NEX exchange is reality plain and simple charity.  Same kind of charity we are giving the VisaCoin victims.  Nxt coin holders are actually victims not investors.

Liar. She doesn't even know how to read the codes. Join NEM instead https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.0. We have a real intention and we don't take your
money and promise bull.

Joining NEM, a real alternative to Nxt.

Man, that FrictionlessCoin guy and his NEX bullshit literally makes me sick to my stomach. Now he's stealing Levelcoin's ideas and trying to get him to help with NEX - see my response here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422309.msg4642193#msg4642193

The Nxt community should not offer this ahole a single bit of help. He is actively trying to discredit Nxt, so I feel obliged to do whatever I can to discredit this parasite in return. I hope other Nxt stakeholders will join me!

He is actually promoting Nxt, and doing a great job!
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 04:02:59 AM
Does anyone else love the fact that Doge is trading $14mil a day?  At least it shows the crypto community has a sense of humor.  That is going be one massive crash and burn.

maybe not - it has the potential to replace litecoin.  Should have got a few million when they first came out, instead i got 7.8M worthless ADT....ugh

That would be awesome, wish I bought some too, but oh well.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT - Imagine Fairness! on: January 21, 2014, 03:57:46 AM
This whole thing is a ridiculous ploy for FLC to get BTC and Nxt.  People, don't fall for it, it's embarrassing.
1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 03:50:46 AM
bter current withdrawal limit is 200000 NXT per day

There is a pretty steady 5% to 10% premium on bter vs dgex, currently .000113 vs .0001, people clearly don't like withdrawal fees.

bter volume (NXT/BTC + NXT/CNY) is bigger than all other exchanges combined

Any sane exchange would add NXT as soon as possible to get a piece of this trading volume. NXT is #4 by 24 hr trading volume:

BTC: $21 million
DOGE: $14 million
LTC: $5.6 million
NXT: $2.4 million (bter CNY+BTC and dgex)
peercoin and namecoin <$ 1 million

It is possible peercoin or namecoin might total more from all the different exchanges they are on. No sure how coinmarketcap.com adds up total volume. Still $2.4 million per day is a good amount of distribution. Most of the sales seem to be in <10,000 NXT lots so this means a lot of new NXT'ers were created today. Most probably don't even have a client running yet.

Very big developments. Of the top 10 market cap coins, only NXT and DOGE were gainers today and both by very big amounts. The two weeks after source release might have been the last chance to get NXT at super low prices.

It's rather interesting to see that >80% of the posts here discuss IPO and mining and very few posts discuss the interesting aspects like the scripting language or transaction logic, privacy, etc...

Greed!

How about making economically rational decisions in a resource scarce world? Spending without regard to economic consequences is luxury, unless you are doing this for the betterment of mankind. In that case, do so without complaint.

+1
Should we talk about the Botnet problem?  Or the fact that Dagger doesn't work?  Give me a break, we're not improving mankind with another POW.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 12:17:43 AM

NXT can handle all transactions from all ***coins that are out today together?

I think this will become really huge... think about Bitcoin on top of NXT Wink

Sorry, I'm dreaming...

Yeah, I think you are close!
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 12:07:18 AM
I'm suggesting keeping our voting system within the Nxt blockchain, where it belongs, so it can be implemented into a client in the future.  You are the one talking about developing a website to handle all of this, that is more complicated then opening a Nxt account and sending AM's to that account.

What the cost of website development has to do with it? What matters is how easy and convenient it is for people.

Sending AM's into different accounts is a Rube Goldberg contraption. It's difficult to use, it's difficult to see the results. It loads the blockchain with something that can be done off-chain.

What's the advantage? Integration with the client? It can be integrated with the site too, especially since we're moving in the direction of thin clients anyway.

I don't think we will ever come to an agreement.  How much do we need to vote on anyway?  Let's put this to rest and let the core developers tackle the "how to"
1258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 20, 2014, 11:49:37 PM
At the risk of sounding like an extremist, I want to have people like klee and CfB to have a LOT more weight than frictionlesscoin. does anybody disagree with this?

The problem here is wealth disparity is much larger than intellect disparity.

If I have $10 and Bill Gates has 50 billion, does this mean he's 5 billion times smarter than me?

So we need a "compressor" function and that can be gamed by splitting wealth into multiple accounts to get "optimal" voting power.

If you are voting on Microsoft topics?  Yes.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 20, 2014, 11:41:17 PM
Really, is it that difficult to send an AM?  We aren't bloating the blockchain, we are adding value to the POS system with forging rewards.  With public AM, all votes are there for the public to see, no manipulation.  Voting needs to cost 1 Nxt so people only vote on topics important to them.

Votes will be on the site too, even easier to see than going through all the messages in different accounts.

You suggest a complicated scheme with little to no advantage over a site. If the payment is involved, the site can do it too.

Are you developing the site as we speak?

I'm so interested that I finally made my account on this board.

Thanks for your work and I hope you get it running.
