https://crypto.news/chinas-largest-mainland-equity-funds-quietly-join-spot-bitcoin-etf-market-report-says/
"Chinese mainland-based equity funds have reportedly submitted their applications to launch spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) via their Hong Kong subsidiaries, according to a report from China’s state-owned newspaper Securities Times, which cites multiple institutions as a source"

Some may disagree, but China and its policies have been a drag on Bitcoin for too long and I was personally glad when they finally cut all ties with it. No one can forbid them to launch their spot BTC ETFs, but considering China's attitude towards Bitcoin, no one should be surprised if they start attacking Bitcoin again.
242  Economy / Economics / Re: INFLATION, A MOTIVATION TO INVEST IN CRYPTOFASHIONS on: April 08, 2024, 12:59:47 PM
I always wondered if inflation, in addition to all the bad things it brings to society, has some benefit that could be useful  for each of the people who are harmed by this type of case, and the truth is that it seems incredible to me that It comes only to cause anguish and destabilization. Or do you think it has some benefit? Because it seems to me that there is nothing good about this event attacking countries and the worst thing is that it is inevitable, everyone is or will be going through inflation, The only thing I see as good about it is that it forces people to look, for alternatives that could be useful and more profitable when it comes to future stability.

For most people, inflation is a negative phenomenon, especially if their monthly income remains the same as before inflation. This leads to the fact that the average person can no longer meet his personal life needs and has to start looking for other sources of income, which means that he has to work more, which means that he is more exposed to physical and mental efforts. However, inflation does not affect everyone in the same way, because the rich are still rich and have far more money than they need.

Lately, these second options that I refer to deal with innovation focused on cryptocurrencies. Many businessmen are aware of this and apply it in their respective territories. To give an example, we have Spain, in a news story I read about this country in an article written in Spanish, is highlighted the increase in inflation and the interest that many retail investors have shown in focusing on the area of technology and virtual currencies to cope with what is happening. This is what Laidler, a global markets strategist, comments on, providing his opinion on the situation that Spain is experiencing and the measures that retail investors have been taking, according to him.

People will ride any wave if it makes sense to them at a given moment, and cryptocurrencies are currently a hot topic not only in Spain but everywhere in the world. If the price of BTC was half as much and nothing significant was happening, few would decide on such an investment.

Therefore, I think that inflation is not the main driver (motivator) for investing in cryptocurrencies, but it is about the fact that the expectations for this and the next year are extremely high, and this optimism spreads like a virus among all those who think that they can make easy money this way.

244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-stage positive impact from spot BTC ETFs on BTC on: April 08, 2024, 10:38:07 AM
BTC from Grayscale is only a part of the BTC supply on OTC. They have sold about 15B USD worth of BTC, while the remaining ETFs have bought about 27B USD, meaning we have net inflows of 12B USD [1]. This 12B USD worth of BTC comes from many sources, including miners and people who choose to sell on OTC at a higher price instead of selling on Spot and causing the BTC price to decrease. I believe that when Halving happens, the number of BTC from miners will decrease and they will not have much BTC to sell on OTC either. Similarly, people with BTC will also want to hold after Halving and this will cause the supply on OTC to be exhausted. And the truth is that there have been days when the OTC supply has been exhausted[/sup].

Of course, Grayscale BTC is only part of the coins flowing into ETFs, but it is difficult to estimate how many coins are available through OTC and what share belongs to miners. It is possible that miners have significant amounts of BTC that they have accumulated over the years waiting for the new ATH and that they will sell them gradually, and that the halving will not have an impact on the amount of BTC that will arrive through the OTC.

Until now, halving showed the first effects only after 6+ months, and it is possible that it will be the same now, and that what you are speculating about will only begin to manifest at the end or beginning of next year.

And even though this buying pressure has not yet been transferred to CEXs, it still has an indirect impact on BTC price through the decrease in selling pressure on CEXs. Another thing is that we only have a maximum of 21M BTC, about 30% of which may have been permanently lost [3], and only about 2M BTC are in good liquidity on CEXs [4]. I think we will see something interesting right after Halving, when the supply on OTC dries up while the investment demand from traditional investors continues to increase.

I do not consider all these methodologies for determining "lost BTC" to be even remotely reliable, because 30% would be as much as 6.3 million BTC that are no longer available, and I tend to believe that the real number of lost BTC would be only about 10%. Of that, about 1 million BTC is what is attributed to Satoshi mined coins, and another 1 million BTC would, in my opinion, be what everyone else lost.

You should also not ignore the outflows that happen with ETFs, because all those who invest in such a way do it exclusively for profit and sooner or later they will decide to take that profit.
245  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there any easy way? Where to earn $3 dollars per day? or micro earnings? on: April 08, 2024, 10:15:12 AM
One of the ways is the one in which many members of this forum participate, and it is about signature campaigns in which you also participate. I didn't check how much your campaign pays, but I think it's one of the lower paying ones and you probably can't earn $3 a day, but a good number of campaigns pay at least $50+ a week, which in some countries is a solid $200 a month.

Of course, it is not easy for a beginner to become at least a full member on this forum, but if people are interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, with some time and effort, reaching such a rank is really easy to achieve.

As for other jobs that are offered online, you can try to be a moderator on various forums, telegram groups and the like - and in the Service board you can often read that someone has posted an ad offering a job. In fact, there are countless possibilities for small online jobs, but also everyone who wants to earn something in this way must have at least some skills - there is always a job for a good graphic designer or developer.

BITCOIN SUPPLY
Now , although Bitcoin uses a proof of work protocol in creating new coins and also adding to the circulation, Bitcoin mining is not unlimited or infinite. Now this is because the total amount of Bitcoins that can ever be mined and also circulated is 21 million. Currently, over 19.4 million which is about 92% of the total supply has been mined.
You may probably ask, why is the Bitcoin supply limited and why has so much of it been mined so quickly already?

If you are already looking at the data in the table, then at least you can write them correctly. Reward era 4 ends with 19.68xxx BTC, which is 93.75% of the max supply, and this will happen in about two weeks. One more thing, if we're going to be precise, it will never be exactly 21 million BTC, but 20999999.97690000 BTC.
247  Other / Meta / Re: What is the policy regarding AI generated images on the forum? on: April 07, 2024, 11:07:08 AM
Lately I've been generating images with AI on a private level and for entertainment. It has occurred to me that at some point I might add some to a post but I would like to be clear that I am not breaking any rules. In any case it would be as an addition to what I write and making clear that it is an image generated with AI.

If I were you, I would still note that the image was generated with the help of AI, just in case. Given that the forum has never considered uploading images from any source as something against the forum rules, you probably won't have any problems with such images.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-stage positive impact from spot BTC ETFs on BTC on: April 07, 2024, 10:43:19 AM
~snip~
While spot BTC ETFs currently acquire their holdings primarily through the OTC market, their influence extends beyond that. By absorbing buying pressure, they've helped reduce selling on CEXs, contributing to a positive price trend for BTC. However, this dynamic might shift after the upcoming BTC halving. If the OTC market lacks sufficient liquidity to meet ETF demand, the buying pressure from these funds could directly impact the BTC price on exchanges.

To begin with, I think that those who closely follow what is happening with spot ETFs (US) know that one of the main sources of BTC for BlackRock and Fidelity is in what is sold by Grayscale (so far over 300 000 BTC). Only when they stop dumping their BTC will we see the real state of the market, unless some new source appears that will do the same thing that Grayscale has been doing for months.

As for the halving, regardless of the psychological effect it will probably have, I do not believe that the OTC market depends on new mined coins whose total amount will decrease from 27 000 to only 13 500 BTC in a few days. The liquidity of the OTC market will therefore not depend on what the miners sell in that way given the amount is too small to meet the needs of the market - unless the miners have large amounts of BTC they are holding in anticipation of the ATH.

Realistically, spot ETFs (US) + all other spot ETFs around the world have bought over 500 000 BTC (+300 000 Grayscale) so far, so even if we conclude that they have about 1 million BTC, there is still theoretically about 18.6 million BTC which are in circulation.
249  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [banned mixer] yomix Scam Attention, everyone, stay away immediately!! on: April 07, 2024, 10:01:59 AM
I'm wondering how you were able to send about 30,000-40,000 USD to a site that I had never dealt with before or had the necessary trust? It's weird !!!
~snip~

It is really strange for anyone who behaves rationally and has earned such money in any "honest" way to simply go and do such a sensitive operation without any prior checking. However, without any evidence, maybe the OP is just a victim of clipboard malware and the mixer sent coins, but to the wrong address.
250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 06, 2024, 10:06:35 AM
When you take a look at the some forum posts, you will be amazed at how many people are wondering if the bull run is over and if they should sell their BTC - which means that they have no sense of the times they are in.
But it makes me sad when I know who is going to buy theier BTC if those people are selling.

I look at it from a different angle, because most will sell sooner or later, so the moment is quite irrelevant if they doubt Bitcoin every time it loses 5% in value compared to what is practically worthless (fiat). You probably think that their BTC will go into the hands of companies like BlackRock or Fidelity, but I think that they currently have some other sources from which they are "buying" - so it is not necessarily bad that "easy hands" sell, there is always a possibility that new owners think completely differently from them.

When you take a look at the some forum posts, you will be amazed at how many people are wondering if the bull run is over and if they should sell their BTC - which means that they have no sense of the times they are in. The conditions for a perfect storm are becoming increasingly visible with the upcoming halving and the huge appetite of investors for Bitcoin through spot ETFs.

Particularly like the idea of borrowing $1000 and buying in one hit. This seems like a much more sensible approach!

It is good to consider all options, but be sure that you will be able to return what you borrowed and that the $1000 is not money that can create problems in your life. In other words, try to stick to the golden rule "never invest more than you can afford to lose".

Also take into account that the DCA method (dollar-cost average) has its advantages because you can be lucky and buy at an average lower price than what you will achieve with a single purchase. Of course, that's where fees and security come into play, so we're back to the beginning.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some major institutions investing heavily in bitcoins in 2024 ? on: April 05, 2024, 01:23:44 PM
Based on your question, I know that MicroStrategy, Galaxy Digital Holdings, Marathon Digital Holdings, Tesla, and Coinbase Global are some of the of the top investors in Bitcoin, and they hold a great deal of it.
~snip~

Except for Microstrategy, all these other companies are real dwarfs with their investments considering how much they are actually worth. It seems to me that some of these companies are buying Bitcoin just to draw a little more attention to themselves, but they are far from serious investors.

As for Tesla and their great leader, some information appeared that they started buying BTC again, although some say that it might just be an accounting error.

Many of the reputed members of the forum have replied in that thread without noticing that the content was AI generated and the one who posted it used AI content generators to create the content of that thread.

I try to check every OP before answering, especially if it's newbies and classic shitposters - but we can't expect all members to have such high standards when it comes to fighting against AI, plagiarism, spam and low value posts. Those who do not check if they are communicating with AI could often find themselves in a situation where their posts are deleted as a result of the entire thread being deleted.

Can we have a feature where the AI generated content automatically get flagged as AI generated content so the reputed members may not reply to that post/thread and just report it when they see that flag.
~snip~

I don't think it's something achievable, and I wonder how it would even be possible to have something like that on the forum. After all, anyone can check every post in at least three AI detectors in less than 1 minute - you open three detectors in three tabs and paste the post - if all detectors show that it is AI content, instead of the post, make a report to the moderator.

typical wall street white head... just do the opposite of what he says and everything is fine

You, me and some others from this forum know that, but how many people have been buying gold for almost 10 years and waiting for $5000 per ounce? Maybe one day in the future it will happen, but then 1 BTC will be worth at least ten times more than today.

Considering the kind of stories we can read on the forum, I will reserve the right to be skeptical because some things are a bit strange to me.

At first, the husband does not allow his wife to do anything except housework, she hides from him and invests $10 a week and thanks to the bull run makes a profit, and then she decides to confess everything to him, and suddenly he not only allows his wife to invest, but help her open her own company Roll Eyes

Will the wife now turn her husband into a housewife - I mean, since she is now the big boss, someone has to work in the house, right?

As we all know, Bitcoin, emerged in 2009. It is built on blockchain, a decentralized ledger for recording transactions. Bitcoin's decentralized nature frees it from central authority, fostering beliefs in its potential as a universal currency.

Bitcoin's appeal lies in its lower transaction costs compared to conventional banking systems. This advantage favors international transactions, particularly in areas with limited banking access. It also boasts fast processing times, valuable in an era of urgency.

Bitcoin's path to becoming a widely accepted world currency faces obstacles. Its volatility, with significant price fluctuations, raises concerns for everyday transactions. Furthermore, cryptocurrency regulation remains in its nascent stages, with governments worldwide navigating its implications, potentially influencing Bitcoin's future.
Despite these hurdles, Bitcoin has garnered considerable attention and adoption. It has spurred innovation in finance and inspired the creation of other cryptocurrencies. Its potential as an alternative to fiat currencies is particularly promising in economies facing instability or inflation.

It is crucial to recognize that while Bitcoin has made strides, it still needs to mature to challenge established currencies like the US dollar or the Euro. Global adoption of Bitcoin hinges on acceptance by businesses, governments, and the general public.

Bitcoin's future in relation to world currencies is an intriguing subject. Its advantages extend to cost-effective transactions and speedy transfers, but it confronts challenges concerning volatility and regulation. The evolution of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the global financial scene remains a mystery to be unraveled in the coming years.

258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your educated guess on BTC price at the end of 2024 on: April 04, 2024, 09:45:40 AM
With spot ETFs that have already bought more than 500 000 BTC and with the halving effect, I don't think it's too optimistic to speculate on at least $100 000 by the end of the year. Everyone has the right to their opinion, but I don't see any good reason (so far) in favor of the fact that by the end of this year the price will be only slightly higher than it is now.

A 50% price increase compared to the current price is quite possible if we don't have a black swan event, but given the crazy world we live in, anything is possible.

It is hard to classify him in any other category than an ordinary troll who repeats the same phrases so long that he has convinced himself that they are true. He said in 2015 that the price of gold will reach $5000 per ounce, and today the value is not even 50% of that amount.

Everyone who was active during 2015 remembers that 1 BTC was then worth about $200+, today it is about $65 000+, while the price of gold in 2015 was in the range of about $1300 at the beginning of the year and just over $1000 at the end of that same year. Who is poor and who is rich in that story is clear to anyone with a little brain in their head.

Peter Schiff, president and CEO of investment firm Euro Pacific Capital, recently predicted that the gold price will reach $5,000 per ounce. That’s hundreds of dollars away from its 2011 high point of about $1,900.

I plan to buy more BTC on a regular basis now. Lets say $200 per month for the purposes of this thread.

Have you thought about the option to "borrow" say $1000 and immediately buy BTC, and then pay back $200 every month? In this way, you will save on fees, and at the same time you will have BTC in your wallet immediately after the purchase.

I am here for the HODL.

Are you planning to invest only in BTC? If the answer is yes, then consider a hardware wallet that is only for Bitcoin, and also one of the most secure on the market -> Foundation Passport Official Thread
