I almost don't want to do this story because I don't want people in the UK, and Australia and Canada to go, "Really?... Really guys?... That's what you're doing? You're gonna fucking use the bible in science classes?!?"

This predates science... What are you doing?
This is a sick disgusting joke
Yeah, grab the book with the 7-headed dragons in there, and lets use that...

2402  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: February 19, 2016, 05:17:26 PM

And since Atheism is a religion according to the dictionary definition, religion has been in the schools for ages, now.

You do not get to choose which of the several definitions you prefer... that's not how definitions of words work...
Words have different definitions depending on the context in which the word is used (6th time I've explained this to you)

Atheism is not a religion... Atheism is not taught in schools... please provide an example of exactly what you are referring to

...

Naw, fuck that... its time to stop being polite... religion is fucking bullshit... it is NOT SCIENCE and RELIGION SHOULD NEVER BE TAUGHT IN A SCIENCE CLASSROOM... NEVER!... PERIOD. FULL-STOP!

If you disagree, it is your right... but know that it makes you a fucking moron when you say people should teach religion in a science classroom... it makes us all look like morons because we are associated with you... go fuck yourself, and quit making me look foolish in front of the entire world!

Currently our educational systems seem to be effectively teaching a great deal of Gaia worship green bullshit so, in my opinion, teaching religion is already happening.  My solution would be to get rid of the classroom since nobody can use it without pushing their own agenda.

A centrally controlled educational system simply wants to pump out workplace ready robots and are increasingly good at it.  To the extent that it is failing here in the West, it is because there is no more 'workplace' so the shift is to pump out lemmings who will throw themselves over the cliff when the time is right.

Your solution is... since you can't teach religion in school... get rid of schools?!?

NO! NO! NO!

The solution is... only teach provable facts in public schools... if you can't prove it, don't teach it!

As always, you can attend a private school and be brainwashed any direction you like... but don't try that bullshit in public schools!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXFY29ZRHB8

For most of my life I had been fairly rabidly of the opinion that this guy spouts.  As of the last few years, not so much.

 - Our education system is a wreck and I don't think that teaching gibberish in science class can possibly make the results any worse.  It's probably better than teaching basically wrong or at least vastly oversimplified stuff with some vague assertion of legitimacy 'because, science.'

 - It's probably more dangerous to have a unified and inflexible curriculum defined by a single state and designed to achieve the goals of that state than it is to have a more flexible locally influenced one.  I'm now of the opinion that basically the state should mandate no more than that kids somehow learn 'the three R's and provide some basic support for that available to those who wish to use it, and everything else (including science, history, etc) should be left to the student, parent, and community.

 - I don't have a real problem with there being individual and regional differences in inputs and outcomes.  I simply don't believe that 'uniformity' is very critical and not even all that desirable.

 - I don't give a fuck what people in other nations think about us and it absolutely should not define our internal systems.  To be honest, I don't think very highly of most of them when it comes to a lot of fairly important things.

Naw, fuck that... its time to stop being polite... religion is fucking bullshit... it is NOT SCIENCE and RELIGION SHOULD NEVER BE TAUGHT IN A SCIENCE CLASSROOM... NEVER!... PERIOD. FULL-STOP!

The only reason atheists hate religion is, all religious people hate people of other religions, momentarily, once in awhile.

The only reason that atheists hate Christians is, atheists know that they are wrong, and that Christians are right, and nobody likes being told that he is wrong, especially when he is, like atheists are.

The only difference between me and you is that I have facts and evidence to back up every claim I make...

Well, that and about 50 IQ points

Haven't shown any evidence yet, and since my IQ is about 50

IIRC, I pegged you as a 23 yr old white female who was home-schooled and has an IQ of 120... how close am I? Shocked

You're doing quite well, and you know that, don't you? You are doing the only thing you have left that you can do, pick on poor srinikethan. I mean, since God has been proven to exist, and since you are too chicken to go out and commit suicide to get it over with faster, you do the only thing you have left... badmouth poor srinikethan, and anybody like him.

Well done. Here come the test results:

That's what it says: a horrible person.
We weren't even testing for that.

The only way to lovingly console you is to strap you down, and muzzle your vicious mouth as we would an animal, and then to lovingly pet you. You are too dangerous to get close to otherwise.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the person advocating suicide, and violence... is the Christian?

I don't hate Atheists  Smiley

Well maybe you don't hate Atheists but you're God do that's for sure...

God doesn't hate Atheists.

Sounds like someone hasn't read the bible!

God loves Atheists so much, he wants to get them stoned...

Quote from: Deuteronomy 17
If there be found among you ... that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant;
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshiped them...
Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman ... and shalt stone them with stones, till they die

I bet God invites Atheists to all his parties... (bazinga!)

God hates Atheists so much, he doesn't kill them himself... he commands YOU to kill us... you better get started, we are many

You are totally missing the point. God wanted perfection for His people so much that getting rid of Atheists, etc., was a joy for all perfect peoples

If God could get rid of Atheists... Why does God command his followers to murder them?  Can't God do his own dirty work?

Wait... did you just say, "was a joy for all perfect peoples"?...  God wants you to murder Atheists, instead of doing his own murdering... ... because it's fun?!?

What... the fuck... is wrong with you?!?

Why most of atheists here on this forum feel so threatened that they have to attack against religious world view all the time?
Are they so insecure about their own world view? Why they are so scared?  Smiley

My only real concern about religious people is that they will group into a 'one world religion' of the type that the globalist new world order types and their minions (e.g., Pope Francis) are trying to cultivate.

In 'religious people', I include those significant fraction of my countrymen (here in the U.S.) who consider themselves atheist/agnostic but who I consider to be of the 'scientism' persuasion.  Most of the 'greens' are distinctly in this category.

At this point I believe that the best hope the country has is that enough Christians hold 'true to their faith' and continue to look to the bible/Jesus/God/etc for their strength rather than to some puppet animated by the corp/gov state.  I personally don't believe in any of that bible stuff, but I observe the reaction toward religion of the totalitarian social engineers of the Soviet Russian and Red Chinese states and believe I see why their policies were structured as they were.  That is, among other things, they seeked to siphon off and appropriate 'spiritual energy' for their own uses (and those uses sucked.)

The Book of Revelations actually talks about a forced one world religion ruled by the anti-christ just before the second coming of Jesus Christ  Smiley

Now, Christians, relax. Going out and destroying the atheists isn't the thing that God wants

Have you read the Bible? God commands you to murder atheists numerous times...

Do you need me to quote the bible some more, or are you capable of doing your own research for once?

You are so silly. Chuckle. I and many Christians have looked over the whole Bible, many times, and never have we found, even once, the name BADecker.

In addition, God never ordered or commanded or directed Christians to kill anyone, not even once. You are so silly.

How can you possibly be this delusional?

Please quit lying... You have already proven that you have not read the bible...

Now you claim you have read it multiple times? Liar!

Doesn't God tell you not to lie? I think it was among those 613 commandments

So I've heard in one form or another.

Not being superstitions, I have a hard time believing that there exist 'profits' or people who could see into the future, but I will say that there are some very interesting predictions logged down in various religion's texts which seem fairly stunning when mapped to reality.  I have two main hypothesis on this:

1)  Man's behavior has not changed a great deal for a long time.  This make a situation were a bright person can appear to 'predict' situations which occur all the time anyway.  Example:  individuals achieve positions of power, consolidate it through a finite set of means, then do increasingly shitty things because they can.

2)  Modern engineers designing a strategy to do some of the aforementioned 'shitty things' might decide that rather than trying to convince people of something brand new, it would be easier and more effective to leverage something they already believe due to, say, the teachings of a popular religion.  In this way one might find a number of 'self fulfilling prophesies.'

prophet = profit?  Novel concept...

It's not hard to predict things like war, famine, plagues... those things happen on a regular basis... I challenge you to find a 50-year period in all of history, where there was not a war somewhere

2412  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crazy shit Bible says, crazy shit Christians say on: February 19, 2016, 04:09:04 PM
Actually the first page is one of the most accurate parts of the Bible, and fits surprisingly well to our present knowledge about the history of the universe:

[1:1] In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth,
[1:2] the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.]

Universe as a singularity

[1:3] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
[1:4] And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
[1:5] God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Big bang

Let me stop you right there, at step one.  Earth was created before big bang?  Water before big bang?  Don't you need hydrogen and oxygen to have water?

In the Bible's phrasing "waters" means a lot of things from seas to the sky (space), just like earth what in this context means material what was "formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep". Don't forget that this book was written some 3k years ago (and probably was based on some older scripts) for a bunch of goat herders and farmers with limited knowledge about quantum/astrophysics so the language had to be relative simple, plain hebrew Smiley.

When the bible talks about separating the waters of the heavens from the waters of the Earth:

Quote from: Genesis 1:6-8
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

This is because, bronze age goat-herders, didn't realize that the blue sky was not the same substance as the blue oceans... they thought the sky was water! (God thought the sky was water)

Note: When ancient people used the word, heaven... they interpreted the word differently than people of today... back then, heaven simply meant "the sky" (clouds are literally in heaven)
