1901  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Proof that Proof of Stake is either extremely vulnerable or totally centralised on: March 04, 2016, 05:10:59 PM
Why not just use the easy 51% attack on PoS?  There is no need to buy all these old wallets, etc... you can 51% attack PoS with 5% of the coin

All PoS coins forked from PPCoin are vulnerable... I can't say for sure if non-forks like nxt are vulnerable in the same way, but I'll explain the method

Separate the 5% you own into 5 wallets each containing 1% of the total supply of coins

Take 4 of the 5 wallets offline, and wait a day or 3

Spend the coins in the online wallet, and wait for 2 confirms (and credit on a 2-confirm website/exchange)

Bring the other 4 wallets online with a modified wallet code to reject the last 3 blocks, and start a competing chain to double-spend your 1% of the coin

Since your 4 staking wallets were offline for a few days, they have accumulated "staking weight"/"coin days", and will find a block almost instantly... you are nearly guaranteed to find 4 blocks in a row... 51% attack with only 5% of the coin!

No. America took every bit of profits it could from WW2. Then AMERICANS died to free us. America never done shit for us. They stole us, then used us, then send Americans to be killed on European ground, then America stole us again, betrayed us and ruined us.

No European could be grateful enough for the American people sacrifice. But No European could be hateful enough for the trahisons of the USA government.

Your euro friend wants to kill all Americans indiscriminately , not just the American government... Would you agree with his/her/it statement?

Yeah totally but personally I would also kill all Europeans, Asians, Arabs and Africans.

I'm a bit tired of the global stupidity, lost all hope in mankind few months ago so I'm not a good example ^^

You only recently lost hope in mankind?  How old are you?  Tongue

Santelli on Romney’s Anti-Trump Speech: Where Was That ‘Courage’ Against Obama in 2012?

Breitbart Feed  by Jeff Poor 1:09 am

Thursday on CNBC following former Gov. Mitt Romney’s (R-MA) speech on the 2016 presidential race, which he criticized current party front-runner Donald Trump, network CME Group floor reporter Rick Santelli questioned what inspired Romney to engage in such an attack. According to Santelli, if Romney had shown that “courage,” he would have won the 2012 election and have been president today. “ haven’t seen this Mitt Romney, as a matter of fact, the only word I could think of is irony and I’ll tell you where my mind is going,” Santelli said. “You recall that on September 11, 2012 our consulate in Benghazi was attacked. There was a debate five weeks later on CNN. The moderator was Candy Crowley and basically — she did something I’ve never seen, ever, in a debate, ever. She inserted herself to stand up for the president and how he labeled what happened that night. And Mitt Romney did not show this kind of courage because if he would have walked off the stage, like a Donald Trump would have done, he’d probably be president today.” “So I guess I’m a little lost that all of a sudden he has the courage that he didn’t display

The thing that is making Trump popular is, all the rest of the candidates are there by planned show. Trump is not. He might be lying a lot. But he is doing it from his heart rather than by plan.

The American people can feel/see this. Trump is lying from his heart. The others are lying by plan. Which would you rather have?

Is it too much to ask for a candidate who isn't a big fat liar?

Too many redirects is typically a server problem... They have an infinite loop somewhere

What site are you using? Have you tried sending them an email?

Your system is rebooting to reality: bernie is not in the picture anymore. That's a good sign my friend.

Bernie does not fit with this particular meme... you can't compare Bernie to Hillary and Trump, lol

I do try to stay on topic, this is the troll Trump thread... there are other threads for trolling/supporting Bernie

Funny story... I had some student loans at a fixed 2.75% interest rate... until a few years ago, when the gov illegally jacked it up to 6.5% for no reason... without notice...

During the bush regime or the 0bama regime?

Fairly sure it was during Obama, but you can't blame everything on the president... IIRC, congress was republican at the time

It had to do with the financial crisis and subsequent bailout

You see, wall-street made a killing creating a real-estate bubble (via fraud), similar to a bitcoin price bubble...

Then, once the bubble popped (went half-gox), the gov gave them $20 trillion dollars in bailout (more money than actually exists on the planet)

After the banks took all the money in existence, they tripled everyone's interest rates on credit cards and student loans (I also had a credit card go from 7.9% to 20.9%, and another from 9% to 26%!)

At the same time, they gave reduced yields on deposits... My checking account was paying 4%+ interest, and dropped to around 1% nowadays

1910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Best thing to do if you lose your wallet.dat file? on: March 03, 2016, 07:42:47 PM
STOP. YOUR. ASSUMPTIONS.

As someone else already said, core keeps (by default) 100 addresses pregenerated in the wallet.dat file. If someone else has the file they also have these 100 hidden keys. They will e.g be used for change. Your solution is plain dangerous.

A completely new wallet file can easily be created by just renaming the old file when core is closed.

Fo real yo... here's your solution

1) Close bitcoin (if it is open)
2) Rename wallet.dat to wallet_old.dat
3) Start bitcoin (creating a brand new wallet.dat file)
4) Copy receive address to clipboard
5) Close bitcoin
6) Rename new wallet.dat to wallet_new.dat
7) Rename old/compromised wallet_old.dat to wallet.dat
8] Start bitcoin and send all bitcoins to new wallet address you copied to clipboard
9) Close bitcoin
10) Delete or rename wallet.dat (old compromised wallet) (*AFTER* transaction has confirmed!)
11) Rename wallet_new.dat to wallet.dat
12) Start bitcoin and encrypt your new wallet with a new password
13) Pretend none of this every happened

How's sanders doing? Anybody knows?

According to the New York Times, 386 delegates to Hillary Clinton's 577.
http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results

In other words: had it not been for those nasty superdelegates, we'd still have a horse race. Wink

I feel superdelegates are mostly meaningless...

If Bernie wins the popular vote, and the superdelegates nominate Hillary anyway... it proves to the democrats that the party does not care who the people want... why stay in a party that does not respect your choice?  They would literally destroy the party by throwing the nomination to Hillary (assuming Bernie wins the popular vote)... they would shoot themselves in the foot, and Trump would be president... the democratic party would split into 2 factions... possibly have a 3-party system next election

So I have a question.  Since there are really a lot of Evil Jew Haters on this forum - why is NOBODY talking about the Evil Jew Bernie?

Hey, just thought I'd ask....

Because trolls only know how to parrot what they have been told, and the media does not focus on Bernie's religion

He seems to be one of those Atheist Jews anyway...

I would do a little of each option...

Blockchain style
Everyone, including children,  gets 1 credit per day

Depending on the skill level of your job and number of hours worked, you get paid another 1-10 per day for labor

A percentage of the coins mined each day are used for budget/project proposals... Which anyone can create and vote on, similar to Dash

Does anyone else find it ironic that BADecker will (re)define every word from Atheist to Theory, but refuses to define his "proof that God exists" even once?

The Complexity of Birth and Life

Life continues to be one of the greatest miracles. It’s hard to deny God’s reality when you think about the process of birth – that two beings can come together and create life, a process that is complex from the moment of conception. While there are over seven billion people living in this world, no person has the same finger print. While identical twins share the same genetic components, they are unique individuals. How can their not be a unique designer?

How much do you know about genetics, random mutations, and survival of the fittest?
1918  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will win WW3? on: March 01, 2016, 11:12:37 PM
How did 2 countries build 22,000 nukes?  That is enough to carpet bomb the entire planet a dozen times, right?

China is the clear Victor in WW3 if they play their cards right

They just sit back, wait for America to self destruct financially or start WW3 with the Muslims... Then China swoops in and takes out what is left of the winner, conquering the globe

(trolling)

Seems like the SC black voters are either uninformed or know something that I don't...

Bernie was arrested 50 years ago while standing up for black rights...

Hillary called blacks, "super-predators", and they should, "be brought to heel"...

She's basically a racist, while Bernie stood up for blacks during a time in America where a white man would go to jail for standing up for black rights

Did I miss something?
