@DreamStage this news should have a positive impact on bitcoin prices, because South Korea has a big crypto community which became inactive due to the various regulations imposed on it by their government. It’s also pertinent to note that if South Korea’s government decides to tax crypto’s income, then they’ll be compelled to accept it as a legal tender which will further fuel up bitcoin prices.
Bitcoin is legal tender nowhere. That doesn't stop it being taxable. South Korea is a closed market so the only effect it'll have on everywhere else is if they suck up a significant amount of supply. Prices have often been a grand or two above elsewhere because no foreign money can get in or out.

Though the publishing of the white paper was of course a definitive moment it was the description of a concept. Billions of concepts have been and gone and never got further. Yesterday 11 years ago is when it became a reality. That's the one that counts to me.

Bitrefill of course. There's a gaming store called Joltfun that uses it which I've bought from a couple of times. There's that Moon Chrome plugin that buys through a few place with it but I've no idea how trustworthy it is. They were doing Amazon but now seem to have lost it temporarily.
Since the average person doesn't understand or use it, including me, it's going to take a long, long time before it gets anywhere.
It's possible third party stuff like the Bakkt and Starbucks thing or some sort of Coinbase account linked payment will take precedence.

Besides Medium that he uses to blog none that I know of.
He's regularly quoted and I think it's all from private channels where he issues his decrees that you have to grovel to join. Why would he be on a platform he couldn't boot you off? That doesn't fit the program.

Of course, bitcoin will never have a price of one million dollars.
It's possible. The circumstances in which it happens are the decider in whether it's a good thing or not. If it reaches 1 million from early six or late five figures in a short period of time we're going to get a hangover that'll drag on for years. Since there's a finite amount of coins on exchanges that's possible if demand goes absolutely nutty. If it reaches it because the dollar has become massively devalued then that's not really good for anyone either. A million dollar bitcoin sounds just as silly as a 1 dollar loaf of bread would've sounded once upon a time but it happened.

Yes, but that would be more influential for a longer timeframe prediction (ie: Post halving, like 6 months, 1 year later). For pre halving I think this time there will be a considerable pressure of front-runners even if there could even be some short-lived dump right after the halving.
Totally agree with Theymos analisys, but I think he isn't taking into account the front-running effect two weeks before the halving. Of course that's just my opinion plus there are many unknown factors that might change everything.
Indeed. I'm way past caring about the halving price myself but everyone else might be balls deep in Bitmex and screaming themselves to sleep.

I love how most people are going with somewhat conservative/bearish predictions in Mic's game. That's a very positive signal. Still too many $10K+ bulltards though ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I think many also following theymos lead.... Yeah, maybe that too. And TBH theymos was very right in advising prudence near the top of the past bubble among other things. The most important point he makes in his post is about the inflation rate which also means the price on halving day is irrelevant if you're capable of looking beyond the end of your beergut. Until recent times the arrival of new coins has been like a waterfall roaring away in the background. Now it's heading towards winding down to a trickle over the next few years and then a drip.

I'm pretty sure that, with a modern colour laser copier and the right kind of paper, one could make usable banknotes to give to old, unsuspecting small shop owners, etc.
Go photocopy a Bitcoin... You can't!
One more reason fiat is doomed and Bitcoin is the way forward.
It's the texture that's hard. The bloke's 20s looked good but the moment you touched them it was painfully obvious. Though it's going to be very unfortunate when cash goes, in future the idea of it will seem as mad as spending two years in the Antarctic sucking slime out of dead whale skulls to make margarine.

I very rarely use my PC or laptop for bitcointalk.org
99.99999% of the time I use this site via my mobile phone & it’s great. I don’t have a problem with it, in fact I’d hate to use a specific mobile, app type version. I much prefer it like this.
Weirdo.

I remember as far back as 2010 trying to photocopy £20 notes at work & the printer coming up with big error messages.
Separately there was an instagram page as recent as a couple of years ago that was selling fake notes. They shit it down.
A geezer I knew worked in a scrap yard and they'd only pay him in forged £20 notes. They were fucking awful and you could tell instantly yet he still managed to get rid of almost all of them. Every shop assistant he offloaded them on would twitch the moment they touched them but they stuck them in the till anyway.

I use this on mobile - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?;wap2It's hopeless for quoting and there are some format problems but it's a lot more usable. If my only choice was the OG format on mobile I would crack up in the space of a few hours and run out into the night with my panties on my head.

Though I love him dearly for his sheer ludicrousness I hereby vow to never contribute to another new thread about him ever again. I will be forced to dip into the scam accusation one occasionally as it's just too much fun. That's where he should remain, that and forever being the queen of our hearts.

All this in a bus stop?
That was my traditional holiday season schism. I have now returned to my country seat for business as usual.

^ I don’t remember gentlemand coming in a suit ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) That was my footman. I monitored from a carriage. That’s you & mic on the left being observed by r0ach, gembitz & Cryptonian.
I'd lean more towards such characters being crabs caught from their housemaster.

The British are perfectly civil provided one knows one's place. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FOfyhQxU.jpg&t=663&c=OmbcUtdETgW7GQ) When I invite personages to dine with me should it prove that they did not attract the correct schooling, their table privileges are immediately rescinded and they are sent to the kitchen to peel potARtoes before being firmly propelled on to the cobbles by a riding boot in the posterior. One has roving working classes under the table removing the excretions of my guests as they emerge and placing them in a (monogrammed) bucket. Every Christmas Eve these troglodytes are permitted to address the chief of my housekeeping staff with their complaints. From under the table. And only in writing. And none of them can write.

Hmmm. So it's New Years Day, and Jessica here decides to register on a Bitcoin forum, necro this thread and tell us how good "Adrian Gonzalez" is at recovering money (supposedly lost on a dating site, so probably not crypto anyway). Hmmm.
I lost my mojo. Adrian found it again. I've had an erection since Christmas morning. Thanks, Adrian.

Yes, OP needs to improve the quality of his English for effective communication, the forum has helped many users on that and with s little effort OP can be one among the long list.
I could understand everything written which is rather more than can be said for many a poster. As long as I'm not left scratching my head I'm not bothered if someone's English is a bit broken.

Who's interested can chick things out who's interested doesn't have to visit the place...
It is now my Christmas tradition to force my relatives to study my stats between 9am and midday and have the backs of their hands whipped if they don't show enough awe. If I catch any of them looking at anyone else's page else they get the cattle prod.

In 2020, BSV (and BCH too) are going very butt hurt...
BSV is probably in a better position. It only has one miner - our favourite chicken fiddler - who'll stick at it no matter what while it fits his plans. He clearly doesn't give a fuck about how much it costs him to keep it alive and a reduction in block reward won't matter. And I doubt on chain fees have ever crossed his perverted mind, not that there are any. I'll guess he's waiting for a generalised alt pump to offload. If that doesn't materialise in the next couple of years then we can talk death. BCH is rather more up in the air as I presume there's a bit more pragmatism from the people who mine it.
