2501  Economy / Gambling / Re: Join a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms on: March 17, 2022, 10:16:17 AM
If I say here I am not saying to boycott the Bolobo Russia platform because there is no connection between the war and the actual platform site.  Doesn't look like one with this I think it needs to be distinguished between the Chuar platform site and the battle and when mixing like the battle platform here
you always have your rights which site to play with and which to Boycott , what i wanna know is why supporting those sites? are you regular players of those casinos? if you are going to play with those then you must believe that supporting the listed  site would let the Russian government collect some funds to support their War against Ukraine.
<snip>

I'm always against war, but I do not think it is a right thing to do to "boycott" every Russian casino. I mean, there are possibly Russian online gambling site that operates really well and innocent (no scams, etc.) which gives good service to their customer. I do not think that they should also be directly affected by this war that started by their president Putin. However, I think it is true that the Russian government collects tax from these licensed casinos, in which can be used to fund their invasion.
Everyone has their own way of choosing which gambling site they will use to gamble. After all, people are now smarter in choosing the gambling site so maybe we don't need to boycott the gambling sites in question, but we can just play on the sites that we have played and play with the choice of gambling sites you like.

Yes, Putin can levy taxes from these licensed casinos, especially since we know that Putin has the power to do that. So let the people choose what they want and rest assured, the war will stop soon.

In fact Putin has made many companies that were having earning in foreign currency buy rubles forcibly or else. This means that if you play with bitcoin or with USD or with EUR in any Russian owned casino or even if you spend your money in any Russian owned company of any short your money will be going to finance Putin's economy of war and kill people.
2502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I BUY RUSSIAN TANKS - 100 USD in bitcoin on: March 17, 2022, 10:09:18 AM
I cannot help but to add here the instructions to make a white flag out of a Russian Federation flag. Thanks to suchmoon.

Feel free to pass this on to any Russian soldiers you know:

Just for Putin's soldiers and officers, please notice that you can cut your flag with anything, you do not really need scissors. I suggest that you use the edge of a rations can, these seem to cut even when you do not want them too and can cut the flag perfectly.

Do not die for Putin. Live to see your family again.
2503  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 17, 2022, 09:33:00 AM
That wasn't the question. Why would someone cramp that many people in the middle of nowwhere. Any cellar in a house is saver, even the subway.
If have no idea if even a single person died there, if so it looks more like a sacrifice like Normandy .......

No, that's exactly the question that needs to be asked instead of your straw man bullshit. Why bomb a theater? Why bomb civilian housing for two weeks so they become homeless and have to shelter in other buildings, such as a theater? What about people who don't have a "cellar", open season on them?

Subway in Mariupol, yeah right Roll Eyes

I see four possible answers
-It was Azov that blew it up (seems to be Russian argument)
-It was used by UA side to attack from, so its a fair target for RU.
-It was a RU mistake
-RU side just decided to risk its plane and use a bomb on civilians instead of targeting nazi Azov (because Putin craves more innocent blood)

The scenarios can be debated by the keyboard warriors.

What concerns me is why 350.000 people are still not allowed to leave Mariupol!! Why people who seem to care so much about human casualties, are not outraged that 350.000 civilians are forced to stay in a besieged city with a humanitarian crisis? Is the concern for their safety still the official reason for calling off evacuations? But then how come 20,000 residents have left Mariupol in private cars so far? Why only letting few thousand go per day is fine but not all 350.000 in buses? Who benefits from keeping civilians in the city?

Shouldn't everyone concerned for innocent civilian lives be talking about this, and putting more pressure on Red Cross/UN to make sure people can evacuate so things like this won't happen again?

Or another answer: terror tactics or just destroying anything big enough to group people, which, in my view, is the most likely possibility. It has been confirmed that there are a large number of schools across the country that have been destroyed, the "mistake" or the "false flag" options are just not realistic.

A number of Putin's generals have been demoted due to lack of progress, the ones that take over have seen how Ukrainians do not seem to be going anywhere on their own volition, so terror and mass destruction are now on the table.

Re Mariupol, the problem is that Putin's army does not seem to be abided by their own words. From refugees that made it out of Mariupol, the "green paths" are kind of green-grey, meaning that some of the people seeking safe passage have been massacred. And that is civilians fleeing. Killing them is an act of hate, madness and desperation that does not look like the typical coldly calculated and propaganda-covered action by Putin.

There is no comment of any refugee being forcibly retained in Mariupol. As you say, there is a balance between fear of getting killed on the road and fear of dying of the bombs and people make their choices. Some, the elder, the sick,... they do not have a real choice.

The hypothesis of the Ukrainian army or any of it groups threatening civilians is not realistic. They are fighting Putin's army and cannot afford to divert efforts nor have a hostile population under their feet. Also, Putin's army has shown little regard distinguishing between civil or military targets - any tall building is considered a risk and blown.

On Putin's army suffering an significant number of losses, it clearly matches the strategic outlook regardless of destruction tweets and Ukraine's own information war. The war is no longer a blitzkrieg. Putin is facing determined resistance and, while there are undeniable gains and advances from his troops, the price being paid may be just unaffordable politically and economically.

Seems like Putin is winning in territory at the cost of loosing very valuable equipment and even veteran soldiers he may not be able to replace - even less if the country is sent into an economic recession. He cannot risk loosing too many planes, as, in his imaginary world, the NATO can easily use that weakness to attack and gain full air superiority. He cannot afford withdrawing troops from other borders without risking inferiority. The so called reservists that artificially rise the number of Putin's military are not trained, lack leadership and cannot be supplied (they are the definition of cannon fodder).

Despite all this Putin will not (cannot stop). He may "win" in some form the war (territorial concessions), but all indicates that he will loose the peace, and, unfortunately, it will be the Russian people, whose only fault is not being able or not wanting to risk getting rid of this government, the ones that will pay with poverty and ostracism.
2504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UN condeming Genocide in Ukraine Could we See the rise of a Second UN on: March 17, 2022, 09:11:09 AM
IF the US uses the UN to condemn Russia one sided of Genocide while ignoring the Genocide in Donbass that Caused the war.

...

FAKE. The reason for the war is not a "genocide" of any short, that is just the usual propaganda you are pouring in all your post. There was an armed conflict sponsored by Russia in the Donbas unrelated to language, race, religion or culture.

The only reason for the war is that Putin wants to have control over what happens in Ukraine to feed his court of oligarchs and cronies by using the same "mafia style" of business model they have successfully implemented in Russia. An this is not just saying, we are talking about many journalists killed, people poisoned with Polonium even abroad, opposition leaders and even anti-war protesters are incarcerated while Putin hides in his bunker and speaks even to his closes circle across a 5 meter table.

What could potentially happen is not a second UN, but a simple expulsion of Putin's Russia from it as it he has show little intention of becoming a peaceful and prosperous estate, but rather chosen war, invasion, aggression and bullying towards his neighbours. What good is to have Putin in the UN if he despises it?

2505  Economy / Economics / Re: Putin next steps and where it may fail spectacularly on: March 16, 2022, 07:00:40 PM
Putin knows that his troops are destroying residential buildings and deliberately shooting at the peaceful civilian population of Ukraine. The captured Russians directly say that they received an order to shoot at the civilian population, shoot at women and children. Now in the south of Ukraine there is a stubborn struggle for the city of Mariupol, and after unsuccessful attempts to capture this city with 400 thousand inhabitants, it is simply destroyed by Russian rockets and artillery. Agreements on the provision of "green corridors" do not work, since at the agreed time the Russians begin shelling the city. Ukrainian intelligence has clearly established that Putin personally instructed not to release the civilian population of Mariupol and not to allow humanitarian supplies into this city. Putin is a killer of the civilian population of Ukraine.
That is all because he is 70 years old and he has gotten whatever he wanted until this age. When you have that kind of hubris, and that kind of power for 70 years, then you turn into a maniac whenever someone tells you that you can't get something.

I mean think about it this way, if Ukraine didn't put up this much resistance when it was crimes (there was still a war, but Russia was more successful) then Putin thinks how come he can't do it now? This is why I believe that we should not be surprised that some maniac at the top of a huge nation with nuclear powers and a big military can't really end up comprehending he is doing something bad, that is because he doesn't really see it as a bad thing, since he is a bad person as well, what he does seems normal to him.

There is plenty to talk about when you are seeing a crony government, living on crony business, extorting their own countries into making them even richer. And it is that bunch of old men, not only in age but also in mentality and in the way they conceive their relation with other human beings, just the ones that send the young and poor people from the most remote regions of Putin's Russia to die without even telling them what they are doing and without any reasonable argument since their country, their lives, their families nor their culture is being threatened in any ways.
As a citizen then you wont really be having any choice but to deal with it because there would be no other way except if you are flying to other country which does have better jurisdiction but if not then we are seeing

...

Freedom is not free. French revolution, the fights with the British kings, the Russian revolution, the Chinesse revolution and many other cases did start with people deciding they wanted something else and I am seeing very little of that in Russia, although there is some.

One of the things they could start by doing is selling their tanks and vehicles (to me if possible) and do not die for Putin.
2506  Economy / Economics / Re: Putin is trying to coerce firms into doing business or else... on: March 16, 2022, 06:57:22 PM
Let's take McDonalds for example. Say the company decide to leave and then Putin seizes the assets, what is he gonna do with it?

I think that it's not the best example.
MacDonald's works as a franchise business. So the owners of the actual restaurants (hence the assets) are (probably) Russians.
They were paying for the rights and recipes and parts and MacDonald's was actually having all the contracts right so the suppliers keep sending what's needed where's needed.

However, there's nothing for Putin to seize in MacDonald's. Maybe from other businesses. But going on this track he ensures Russia will become a big no for... basically every goods and services that matter (but I'm no longer surprised; I'm curious how long will it take until most Russians get to understand what happens there).

Just used McDonalds since I don't know what other foreign brands have presence in Russia but I suppose there's still the problem of seizing their assets - how do you liquidate it if no one outside is going to buy it?

...

Judging for Putin's usual modus operandi, he will seize the assets, give them to one of his mafia bosses oligarchs to open a local version (McPutin or Vladpple) and get his cut of the business to buy more flats in London, a larger palace or a couple of islands or archipelagos that he fancies.

He can get very creative and quite persuasive when he wants to take someone else's stuff as you can see right now in Ukraine.
2507  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Declares it is ready for war with American and European countries on: March 16, 2022, 06:49:12 PM
As an American, it's easy for me to look at the Russia situation and blame them for trying to ignite a war.  It does appear to be a bit of a double standard though.  Russia has been fairly open about the military defense systems surrounding their country making them uncomfortable
...

Not trying to defend Russia, but ...

I have seen all over the forum "I am not with Russia but...". Firstly, this is not Russia, this is Putin's version of Russia.  Secondly, "feeling uncomfortable" is not a morally or legal valid excuse to attack another country with the intention to change their government.

Now, I do get there is a point on not throwing rocks at a bear, however you cannot let the bear decide what you can or cannot do in your country or else you will never be free to progress, change and evolve as a nation.

On the NATO argument, there is no argument. Putin knows perfectly well that NATO would not accept Ukraine as a member - it is simply too risky. This is all about Putin trying to get a strategic hold on the Black Sea and trying to incorporate Ukraine, a large food producer, into their crony envelope of oligarchs to steal from Ukrainians as he steals the resources of the Russian people.

The only thing that Russians forget is that even when it comes to oil they can't do shit without western equipment. The first Russian artic platform was 20 years decommissioned Conoco oil platform,  most of the drilling in northern Siberia was actually done by western companies, see the associations with BP and Shell, and what is not western is made in South Korea.

As I know, what concerns the oil and resource research is quite good. At least I've heard they got decent specialists. Also, I agree with your general statement that in globalized world you can't do shit alone (works for any country) but situation with Russia is a bit different. This time there is an external reason for that and since Russia becomes more isolated there is no fear of loosing foreign investors because they already lost them due to other reasons. This rule only applies during the times of free trade.

...

On the oil extraction business, it is certain that the extraction, processing and even transportation has become a very specialised business. Even large companies depend on a selected group of technologists and know-how companies. This is nothing like we nationalise and next day we just open as usual. And on the financial side, it is pretty much the same, it is not only the huge investments required, it is the ability to manage efficiently those fluxes of money without loosing them to corruption, inexperience and inflated supply-chains.

If the military invasion of Ukraine by Putin's army is an example of how things are managed in his government, I can already tell you there is plenty of GDP to be lost.

2512  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is still getting funding for the War. on: March 14, 2022, 10:48:18 PM
Plenty economic sanctions have been imposed by the United States against Russia in a bid to suffocate them financially to an extent that they become incapable to fund the war they have started against Ukraine. I don't see these sanctions as completely effective as it so happens that I came across this article about Europe's dependence on the Russian oil, which is about 30%, Germany as well about 11%, the Netherlands (11%), and some Asian countries substantially depend on Russia for energy. So invariably Europe and other countries like Germany, Netherlands and others are still funding the Russian war indirectly even though the United States tries to boycott them.

Source- https://time.com/6156015/us-oil-ban-russia-consequences/

That is true. Western Europe has made the mistake of considering Putin´s Russia a trusted nation that wanted to enter in the world of trade, peace and prosperity instead of going to the cold war, the domination and the cronies sending the young to die in the name of their corrupt business.

In the short term, the EU has only been able to shut Nordstream 2, however this war has changed in full the perception of Putin´s Russia and have no doubt that the long term effects will imply reducing the dependency from Putin´s exports in energy and other commodities and products. Russia is a country with many resources, but is not the only option.

Just for you:

- He expected the EU to act slowly and indecisively. Surprise.
- He expected insignificant sanctions. Surprise.
- He expected UKR to surrender without any serious fight. Surprise.
- He expected his army to be effective. Surprise.
- He expected NATO to do nothing (e.g. not supply weapons). Surprise.
- He expected people not to "notice" in his dominions (e.g. business as usual). Surprise.

And now there are some people even on the rigidly controlled state media stating that "the special operation" may actually turn into an Afghanistan.

Are you sure you do not see any miscalculation here?

Putin's latest crazy idea is to coerce Western and multinational firms into keeping their business open in his dominions. The message here is "you have to keep your doors open or I will take all your assets and property and also send your executives to jail".

McDonald’s—which made capitalist history when it opened its first Soviet restaurant in Moscow 32 years ago—is leaving Russia. So are BP, Shell, Ferrari, Ikea, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Unilever, and a host of other Western companies

Quote
Medvedev proposed that Moscow should seize the assets of foreign individuals and companies in Russia. And on March 9, Russia’s governing party said a government commission had begun the process of doing so.

This is a very peculiar understanding of business and the rule of law. I wonder that, if this is effectively implemented, will we ever see a western company investing or doing business in Putin's dominions? Will the jobs for the Russian people created by this companies disappear for decades to come?

2516  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 14, 2022, 09:13:36 AM
If Finland and Sweden show the same intention to join NATO like Ukraine, will Putin start other wars in those nations? Will he use the reason to denazification in those nations to legalize his war in his distorted perspective?
Putin is trying to scare western countries from forming an alliance against Russia. He is intentionally being ambiguous to scare NATO and Sweden and Finland, and to not put himself in a corner by having to attack these countries or lose credibility if he doesn't. Compare this to Biden who is outright saying that he will avoid a conflict at all costs.

Putin is doing the same thing with respect to the supply lines of weapons being sent to Ukraine. He is saying that weapons supply lines from Western countries into Ukraine are legitimate military targets. He is trying to scare the west out of helping Ukraine. Without the weapons the west is providing, Russia would have already won the war.

Agreed, the invasion is not related to nazi-jews-drugs blah blah shit. It may however not be related as much to NATO as it is with the status of Ukraine with the European Union and western Europe.

- Putin is not ambiguous at all, he is invading Ukraine and telling others to fear the same. Facts weight more than words.
- Western countries do not have any military alliance against Putin. NATO is defensive, not specific for Russia but for any other threats.
- If Putin targets any kind of "objective" in NATO soil, the can of worms is open to get retaliation which may end ... who knows where. I hope he is cunning enough to know that.
- Biden's position is not "avoid conflict at all costs". It is about not escalating, but it is not "no matter what", since even the international treaties would force him to intervene or break NATO.

...

A year ago i considered passing through Ukraine. Did not take long to find out what kind of place it is and i've made shure to stay far away from it.

For which I am sure all Ukrainians thank you. You should have taken Putin to your trip.

...
for NATO we would be too small and insignificant to start WW3.

The consequences of WW3 are unknown, but there may not be many to tell the story if things go wrong. The west has to help you win the war while making sure Putin has a way out other than WMD. To be honest, I do not agree on Zelensky's calling for measures that would throw more countries into the war (e.g. exclusion zone). That opens a can of worms that might destroy Ukraine beyond measure.

There is a solution to this war, the problem is that there is not a quick solution nor a humane solution to it, as I mentioned on several posts when the military aggression begun (other than Putin being removed from power). If you escalate you get a high chance of WMD, if you do nothing Ukraine might loose. The only option is to help the conflict be no longer viable economically or politically for Putin.
A different thing is how safe is going to feel Putin once the war ends. Hate will be strong for generations.

...

One thing that Russia has had is outstanding psychological operations capabilities borrowed from the theater world.  The 'West' has tried to emulate and/or just borrow talent from Putin's team.  I continue to believe that even while at least some of the fighting is real, the outcome has already been agreed upon at the upper levels.

...

The fact that the West does not look like having psy-ops does not mean these are not actually everywhere, starting by several media outlets. How do you think is possible that a bunch of armed guys stormed the Capitol? You think they were all insane or that they really had a reason to do so?

On regards to the outcome being agreed, I dissent. USA has pressed forward with economy and diplomacy to win the wills of the people of several countries that were previously under the USSR dominance.  And there is no law against it and it is as per the free will of the citizens, it is simply that Putin cannot accept that and has decided to move this onto the military with his war of aggression.

You know the real looser of this war along with the people of Ukraine? The EU. No matter what, any war in Europe has the effect of making the US stronger and that is something Putin should have realised by now.

Also surprised that they even dared to show a tiny bit of doubt on how well the government is handling the situation. Got more balls than most people in media really.

We don't know how long this conflict will last but just from seeing a few clips it seems many people (majority of Russians as well) do not support this war. If Russia suffer enough, they might eventually do something and the officials would end up following suit to keep with the "times".

Off to the gulag for him, I suppose.

The Putin propaganda machine is too strong to fail but it does appear that over the last week or so the sentiment is shifting. Even the staunch Putin loyalists aren't able to justify the invasion. Aligns well with the sanctions and major companies pulling out of Russia, but I'm still confident that the sanctions won't stop Putin. He's too far committed to make any concessions that don't involve either Zelenskyy's resignation (or assassination, for that matter) and Ukraine becoming a neutral country.

I've wondered how many hit squads Zelenskyy's been able to evade. I've seen numbers over a dozen. Putin must be getting impatient.

Gulag? There's no such thing! It's called REEDUCASHUN you bigot! /s

Yup, I too believe sanctions won't stop Putin but if his cronies suffer enough, they might eventually turn on him, as shadow cabinets tend to do when their interests are hurt.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
I seen you around for a long, long time
I remembered you when you drank my wine

Now seriously, what you propose is ye'old confrontation and sides choosing. There is only one side to be chosen: peace, life and understanding. People who say you have to chose your side and fight someone else's wars just want to manipulate others into aggression.

Communication is everything.

Do these Russians solders know:
-   How to surrender
-   Where to go to surrender
-   What financial rewards are available for selling my tank?
-   Who offers escrow service so that I can sell my tank to paxmao
-   How can I tell people at home the bad things I’m doing.
-   How to tell Serbsky Center that KingScorpio has escaped

Drop some prepaid cell phones with a 1-800-Sellmytank number pre-programmed.

Drop some Leaflets “How to get rich quick – sell your tank”

Oh, I had not thought that anyone would need an escrow to sell his tank to me and certainly I should consider marketing options beyond posting on the forum.

What the heck, I am offering 100 USD and an Uber to the nearest bus or train station. Also, a letter signed with my bitcoin signature stating that this soldier has chosen wisely, sold his vehicle and that I vouch for his lack of willingness to die for Putin.

... blah blah jew nazis, bla bla coke consumer bla bla propaganda....

None of that drives Putin's aggression, you should be asking your troll farm leader for something actually believable.

Feel free to pass this on to any Russian soldiers you know:

...

Excellent! They may not know the universal sign for surrender, so this is helpful. I wonder if I could add my telegram user.

16000 Syrian veterans [...] by the side of Russia
group of terrorists [...] by the side of Ukraine

Sounds totally legit Roll Eyes

What happened to the army of 200 thousand?

Ukrainians killed about 15K, wounded about 35-45K, some left on foot back to Russia, and Ukrainians let them (a big mistake).

There are still probably 100K+ walking bodies but they are mostly concentrated in the south and northeast.

Ukrainians should not be taking any POWs, they need to significantly increase the Russian body count.

That is the only way this war is going to stop.

It is sad and cruel, but any dead Russian child soldier gets Ukraine closer to victory.

Show no mercy. Kill them every time you get a clean shot.

putin has at least 3 million soldier at home, and his global support is growing while the global support of woke usa and woke EU is collapsing

this war is increasingly becoming a war between putin and the insane part of the western elite that supports every single jew no matter how corrupt they are (not orthodox jew)

but corrupt drug addicted comedians like Bill mar or Zelinski.

putin will win morally sooner or later and even israel will have to do a choice and start distinguishing between good and bad jews

Putin has a large number of soldiers (certainly not even close to 3 million). However there are many reasons why he is not and cannot use them:

a) The difference between a soldier and a cannon fodder is training, supplies and leadership. Putin most likely has 20.000 tons of cannon fodder. Seriously, I did not have Putin's army in high regard, but after what I am seeing published everyday it is even worse. They seem clueless about tactics, speed or any short of organisation.

b) The problem of being a despot is that you need the army to control your territory. Send more troops into Ukraine and you risk massive revolts (just remember how the Bolshevik revolution came from the monstrosities and gigantic leadership mistakes of WW I)

c) Putin needs to watch his back. China is a friend until it is not. Europe is peaceful until it is not. US would not send troops until they do. Weaken your army too much and you are done.

d) Putin cannot afford to many body-bags coming back home. Russians tend not to question him, but there is a limit to everything and people are starting to have many questions they cannot answer easily.

Do not die for Putin, sell your vehicles, get on a bus a live to see a new Russia some  day.

Again, you are throwing the official propaganda about Putin trying to change an unfit government. This argument is so lame that nobody in the world, including Russia believes.
