2521  Economy / Services / Re: [Wanted] Guerilla Marketer to help promote new gaming DApp ($100/week) on: October 16, 2018, 11:38:29 AM
Respected Sir,

1. I'm Stedsm, working as a Sales executive in a reputed education-based firm where I need to sell the customers a USB drive with the material these students look for. I can spread awareness simply by putting a great grand banner on the top of my home, can wear a t-shirt with something interesting written about this DApp thing and can also spread small paper templates near technical schools where such students are eager to know new things better.

2. This forum itself is one of the best platforms to market this DApp, and I have got a few more forums and traffic exchanges where I can market this as it'll be relatively new for people and as said before, there are a lot of techies who like to see and learn something new everyday, so DApps would really get a great response from such places. AdWords is good if we have strong budget and keywords.

3. English and Hindi.

4. Honestly speaking, I don't know much about this except that these are decentralized apps that the EOS team wants to market and make people use them.

5. Can't promise what I cannot afford to give, but I'll be able to give at least 36 hours of marketing for this $100 weekly pay.

6. @MrBitcoiner
2522  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: October 16, 2018, 03:22:14 AM
The spreadsheet has multiple people with vanity addresses, and basic non-segwit addresses. If the campaign manager added them, it means his rule isn't enforced.
This campaign started before SegWit even existed. Rules change for new participants.

I'd like to add that arguing about the rules your breaking doesn't generally make you look better. In my opinion, it would be most beneficial to take the suggestions, learn from the mistakes and give it another try once you've made the necessary adjustments. The rule is that new participants must apply with a Segwit address, which part of that rule hasn't been enforced?

Please stop arguing about this point. Yes, I made a mistake and I didn't follow a rule written by the OP. In the end he is the one allowing and denying entry to his campaign. If I was going to be allowed and he tells me to provide a segwit address, I would have to oblige. It adds nothing to keep commenting on it.

I'm proudly saying this that we at Chipmixer are completely different people, we're all family here. Unlike other campaigns and campaign managers, we really like to involve in a matter we feel that needs some explanation - be it coming from the campaign manager or us (the participants). As well, as clearly as I (and everybody here) can see, bill didn't really argue with you but tried to help you in your case where you were arguing about non-segwit and vanity addresses. It's really your choice to decide with what attitude you take it, whether you take it as a suggestion or an argument - clearly a case of either misunderstanding or ego hurt. You're not literally enforced by someone to use SegWit here, but as everyone knows, SegWit is really helpful in saving fees and so it is being asked here - it's not for the self-interest of campaign manager but for the participants' convenience.
2523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [OCT 2018] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: October 16, 2018, 03:12:35 AM
It's once again starting to appreciate higher from previous days and I even saw mempool clogged with too many transactions during last few days. I've had a test transaction that went wrong, I checked how much time does it take to confirm and didn't add more fee (intentionally kept priority at normal) and it turned grey for me. This is the transaction that confirmed after ~9 hours - https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/fb266692b2b43d511be23f6de16c9eeb63af331f9c444b65a07ccf076c89b695

I also have a thread regarding this - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5050686.0

P.S.: Posted my thread reference here for others to learn not to make such mistakes.
2524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Just a test transaction and finally stuck! on: October 15, 2018, 02:08:24 PM
If you want some accurate estimation for the recommended fees, check this out: https://coinb.in/#fees

The mempool looks fine so It might take some hours but it will eventually get confirmed. I submitted your TXID to some services I had bookmarked but not sure If they're still working, hope it helps.

Thanks for the help, mate. Smiley

About 7K transaction with size 6.7MB (no idea the size in weight unit), no wonder your transaction is stuck. If you're not patient, just use RBF if the wallet support that feature or look for TX accelerator on Services section (even though i doubt it really works).

Also, it's no surprise about high TX fees and slow confirmation time since SegWit and change to block weight limit isn't enough as scaling solution without sacrifice decentralization.

I've used the Replace By Fee method in order to try to increase the fee if such situation occurs, but accidentally sent the whole amount in urgency due to which I can't even add anything to it ATM. But I believe that it should get confirmed today itself and shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours at the most. This was just a test but sometimes, it proves to be very painful when you try to check something and the experiment goes wrong.
2525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Just a test transaction and finally stuck! on: October 15, 2018, 12:45:54 PM
Hey miners, what have you been up to?
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/fb266692b2b43d511be23f6de16c9eeb63af331f9c444b65a07ccf076c89b695

Check this out, a SegWit transaction, fee that was recommended by the wallet itself (GreenBits wallet it is) and Voila! It's now stuck. I can't believe fees are once again playing games as even transactions with fee less than 1 sat/byte used to confirm in the next block but I guess it's not going to be the same anymore. It's almost more than an hour and I'm still waiting, I wanted to see what will happen with the least fee as I'm aware about GreenBits fee structure they use during sending a transaction. I guess the days of taking advantage of low fees will be going missing again, soon.

P.S.: If possible, someone please accelerate this transaction and help me get this confirmed asap as I don't want to wait being stuck in a mess I created myself.  Undecided Embarrassed

2527  Local / India / Re: Which peer to peer exchange is good in india?? on: October 13, 2018, 06:10:49 AM
I use localbitcoins but not by going through the website itself as I call (some really reputed) traders and directly trade with them offline, so as to save both of us a penny and on the other hand, do it at our own convenience so there's no need to wait for the trader to come online after trade is opened at localbitcoins, but as we're going out of the exchange, the timeline to complete the trade cuts down to nearly a few minutes.
2528  Other / Meta / Re: Analysis - Merited on multiple Subsections and the Correlation Matrix on: October 13, 2018, 02:19:54 AM
Hey Ddmr, couldn't stop myself from bumping this.
Thanks for the most interesting data I've been trying to find all over the forum. Everything is now clear and easy to find that which section/subsection is really worth working on to get better number of merits, especially for newbies (not saying that sections other than those are not useful but they probably need proper knowledge and skills as you said, because as an example here, it is mostly tough for a native French speaker to earn a merit in an Indonesian local board if they ever try to do so.) While people roam here and there trying to post shit and increase their post count thereby trying to increase their merits with it, they should put in some effort to be really eligible for those merits. Some user here said that you really work hard for your merits and earn them, everyone should take a morale from this post and put in a lot of efforts and make us give that damn merit to them. I have a question here that I'm all confused about, where did you get all the data that you used in order to create these tabs with such a well-determined explanation? I mean from where did you get those numbers of users and their merits based on which you made all your calculations?
2529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency on: October 12, 2018, 11:56:20 PM
Bitcoin was created to provide independence from Government control to the users.  But I think it is not so independent.

It depends on fiat currency especially the Dollar for it's valuation.

My question is ; we are measuring it's value in dollars.  So is not it true that Bitcoin is dependent on fiat currency for it's existence?

It's independent in the case that it's a whole new concept, but it doesn't mean that it is not independent due to its valuation in fiat and esp. $ as you said, because if not fiat something is needed to evaluate it else how will you decide that what's the value of something for which miners are burning both their electricity and computing power. And about keeping us independent from Government, it's us who are supporting them by showing them every single transaction as needed in a regulated economy - this is not Bitcoin was derived for - the main property of it is to keep our finances and especially us - anonymous, but I can't really find any place where we may be said as anonymous except decentralized exchanges only, even in P2P, a person poses risks of either getting scammed or their data leaked in case the other party is fraud or suspects you for something.
2530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 10 merits in 1 day on: October 12, 2018, 11:26:14 PM
This merit of a thing as become the main topic since most of the junior member has been demoted back  to newbie.
I just wish there is a rule (not suggestions) that at least we can all follow

The only rule to be followed here is: Posting in the correct thread at correct time. According to my knowledge, the best threads where best discussions are conducted and where chances of getting merits are more is Meta section. Still, it's like for someone, it's a piece of cake and for others, it's like conquering a war whilst trying to make a lot of competitors lose on the basis of their knowledge and posting skills. There are a lot of interesting topics I've seen on the forum which were started by newbies and got merited. As well, for those who think that we don't see your posts, then there are still merit sources and a few people are also helping by asking for your best posts on their thread and a few do it the other way by asking you to PM the same. And yeah, merit is one of the hottest topics here on the forum because if not discussed properly, shitposts will continue to happen and the intention to make this forum a spam-free place for which this system was introduced - will never be met.
2531  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty Hunters ! Must read before join any bounty campaign. on: October 12, 2018, 11:03:20 PM
If you think that scam ICOs are limited to just run away with your money, think again. Visit this thread: ICO scammers, Sell your uploaded KYC ID documents, adress for a lot of money. and see - for how much is your KYC data being sold by them in the dark markets. Trust an ICO and give your data ONLY if you are aware of the risks that your data maybe compromised at a point where ICO turns into a scam as when it's about scamming, scammers have shitheads to make it worst for everybody and they don't think of anyone except money. The image in that thread clearly shows how cheap is the worth of our KYC and these scammers' brains are ridiculously ill to sell such user data breaking everyone's trust and still making money over it.
2532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO scammers, Sell your uploaded KYC ID documents, adress for a lot of money. on: October 12, 2018, 12:07:18 PM
The reason why I don't participate in most of these ICOs and their Airdrops is this only, the biggest fear I had in my heart everytime I thought to get in an ICO and the next minute I stopped myself from getting in. It's better to buy those coins directly over the exchange if the project works out well in the market of such shitty ICOs where our data is sold for pennies. Shocked to see my fear turned real, and surprised that the value of our data is just BTC0.003. Really unexpected, but I think there should be an authority to authenticate the trustworthiness of an ICO and give a certificate of authentication before anyone even gives their KYC docs to them, so no need to invest before any true rating is given.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling addiction a disease? on: October 12, 2018, 11:46:50 AM
I am not really a gambler but I heard about people who can't quit it and keep losing lots of money. Do you think the attitude to gambling addiction should be the same as to drug addiction?

First things first, an addiction is when we're stuck into something due to our mind constantly thinking about the same and it depends totally upon us whether to get out of it or not, whereas a disease is when we're diagnosed with something that's in our body due to various factors such as unhygienic environment, unhealthy foods, etc. and our mind has nothing to do with it and a disease can be healed with medicines, so comparing both of them is useless.
Drug is a part of gambling (if casinos allow drugs at their premises) and I somewhere agree that both type of addictions are almost same as both are not good, one for health and other for finance.

Quote
Should the government forbid gambling and treat somehow those who are addicted?

Gambling is one type of a group of games only but in a different genre, so no need to forbid any gambling activities, and about treating those who're addicted, no one can stop you from doing it unless you're not going to choose the right path. Still, ask them to go to different gambling awareness websites to learn more on how to stop themselves from going on those casinos/websites.
2534  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dice Sites with FIAT currencies? on: October 12, 2018, 10:04:56 AM
Well, that's because there's a cryptographic algorithm that makes something provably fair. The data has to be hashed and then 'reopened' to see if it matches the initial one. Blockchain allows such things to be performed, while fiat doesn't use cryptography. The reason that the same same provably fair thing cannot work with fiat is that blockchain records data automatically and nothing can be changed by people after that, while with fiat people have influence during many stages of proceeding a transaction. Read more in this article to understand why fiat provably fair casino doesn't really make sense: https://bitcoinchaser.com/provably-fair-gambling/.

It is the brain of human that found blockchain, and so, it'll be human himself who'll find a solution for those fiat casinos to implement this "provably fair" thing if they really want their players to know everything about their bets and to prove that they've not cheated over them (users).

-snip-
...Why are Fiat online casinos not adopting the new provably-fair technology?...
I'm going to react because of option (b).

To me it's pretty clear. Why would casino bother implementing something that could negatively affect their profits when it's users don't require such thing.
Once players realize provably fair concept exists it can be game changer but first they need to start complaining (or stop playing). Apparently this is not happening.
In addition casino must be sure the lost profits (due to people stop playing their unfair games) exceeds lost profits due to offering actual fair game. Unless this condition is met, there is no will to change anything.

BTW I fully agree with SyGambler post.

That's true, no casino is stupid enough to strike a hammer on their foot by adding such algorithm as "provably fair" because it'll help a lot of users to validate if their loss was actually real or they were cheated. I tried to find a casino where a player could get a verifier to check if their bet was provably fair, but none was found. Bet365 is one of the biggest names in the gambling industry and has a lot of users playing there all day long and they have a dice game too, but there were many users complaining about their losses as it's really easy for a fiat casino to cheat on its users by not letting the users verify their rolls through any means.
2535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Hash SHA256? on: October 12, 2018, 09:08:13 AM
@stedsm first of all, I want to thank you for appreciating me.

I created this post to all people who don't have much time to research on google that's why I posted here. Yes I didn't add anything here, because I want people to understand clearly this post whats all about. If I add something maybe they don't understand.(Because I have some issue on my grammar)

Is it just due to Grammatical issues or that you yourself aren't aware of this HASH thing and posted just to add one more post to your portfolio? You tried to play wise, but did you do it right? No. And yes, nobody in this busy world is too lazy to visit https://www.google.com or even open Google's search app and ask for the same if they aren't aware of what is HASH. It takes not even a whole second in order for Google to show the exact results, one of which you've demonstrated here.

This is not all about the merits. I know majority for all people want to earn merits.
But, that is not my reason for posting this. I came here because I want to learn and to share knowledge as well. Not for merit.

Sounds rude, I didn't meant it. I apologized.

Not trying to be rude here dude, I've tried to put the facts in front of you and there's nothing wrong in sharing anything here, it's just that you should actually know what you're posting about. For example, if I ask you anything out of the box related to this SHA-256, will you be able to answer?

Yes I copied and paste here. but, I  think you didn't read my post.
I have a source code to this post. This is not a plagiarism.

The link that I provide as a source, block by the forum.

You may have used the Code function itself to post those links because the links which seem to be suspicious to the forum are hereby deleted without any notice.

I appreciate that you tried to say something here, but on another note, what's the meaning of posting the content that's already available over the internet and can be easily found once Googled? This may/may not be considered plagiarism based on many factors but it's not really needed as you didn't add anything extra to it in your own words and didn't try to describe it in your way.

2537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A query regarding Merits specifically. on: October 12, 2018, 01:17:41 AM
Based on the BPIP project, is it possible to track that on which "deleted" post, the merit was given so as to stop merit abuse by those who try to do it to achieve higher ranks without any specific qualifications? I'd really recommend such a system where when a thread is deleted (in which a post is made gets deleted)/user's post is deleted for any reasons by mods, the Merits should automatically either be reverted back (least recommended) or the Merits should be burnt (out of the system to take that amount of merits from those abusers to make them think twice before sending it back to their alts/merit buyers). I really think that even if the merits were given on a good quality post and the thread itself gets deleted in which it was made, then those merits should be of no use as the thread on which they were made - doesn't exist anymore.
2538  Other / Beginners & Help / A query regarding Merits specifically. on: October 11, 2018, 04:05:42 PM
When we make a valuable post, we get rewarded in the form of "merits" here - a system injected to stop spam and encourage high quality comments. But, a question immediately struck to my mind and I thought I should definitely ask this as it's something really interesting.

When a user deletes their post/thread or when a mod deletes a user's posts/threads (least possiblity) due to low quality which has 1 or more merits given to it, what will happen to those merits? As we're aware that merits once given cannot be reverted back, will it still show in addition to the total merits in that user's profile?
2539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do about spam in Forum Sections? on: October 11, 2018, 01:16:30 PM
If you completely eliminate the "repeat questions" scenario, then this forum will turn into a deserted place. Some of these "repeat questions" are just laziness from some forum members, but I have seen some questions that pose a new twist on the previous questions that looked very similar.  Wink

The mods are very active in some of the sections on this forum and I see whole threads being deleted on a daily basis. I lose about 3 to 4 posts per day, when they delete these threads.

It must be difficult to determine if a new thread is unique or if it adds something new, based on all the threads that has been posted on this forum before.  Roll Eyes

I've already told about this that I'm not really saying that all those same subject threads aren't worth making comments into, as few or many of them add up value and spice to the same subject by adding a whole new twist to the topic with a somewhat/completely different content in the OP, sometimes people who post in those threads don't watch OP or even first few posts, and they just try to add up more spice to the conversation by saying the same thing again and again (spam) which turns that complimentary debate into an unnecessary box of matchsticks which is left empty (even if full as it contains nothing but shit).
2540  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can anyone give some info over Deribit exchange? on: October 11, 2018, 09:17:34 AM
It all depends on whether or not Deribit operates its own internal market maker (which also trades to profit), and whether or not they provide data to external market makers. Given the vulnerable nature of these platforms when internal market making is happening, you can be sure of the fact that the house will cheat on you to be on the profitable end of the trade. In other words, you have to assume these platforms will abuse their own position against you.

But till date, I haven't heard a single complaint about them like they've cheated any of their users (or else I've not yet encountered any).

Quote
The larger these platforms grow, the more there is for them to lose.

That's why I think that as Deribit is relatively new, it looks like a shooting star in the sky from which I can wish anything and it might come true, it's an early-bird opportunity for those who want to get rid of the dirty games that are being played at Bitmex through their market-maker.

Quote
Just think about it, if you operate an internal market maker, and thus provide liquidity to keep your platform active, whales could and likely will empty your pockets if you don't do anything to counter/bust their trades.

True, someone needs to lose money for another one to win, but at what cost? Stopping those whales by locking their accounts for any/no reason is good?

Quote
Funny thing about Deribit is that while their office is located in The Netherlands, people from there aren't allowed to use their platform. Roll Eyes

Shocked Never knew this. But I don't have anything to do with it, I'm interested in getting in if there's really nothing (like cheating or account closure without any valid reason) going on there as I don't really want to experience the same thing I did at Bitmex.
