261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 09, 2017, 02:22:38 PM
There are other altcoins that will outperform NEM on a pure percentage basis so make sure to diversify your investments.  What I hold.. NEM, VIA, PASC, XBY, BAY, ARK, BLK, SHIFT, BSD.  Was going to buy NXT at $70M market cap but didn't.. NXT could end up competing with ETH in the long haul with Ardor and their child chain tech and the fact people are starting to issue tokens with their tech.  I probably won't buy it above $100M which will probably end up being a mistake.   Honestly if I had to chose between NEM and NXT/Ardor, I'd take NXT/Ardor at this point because it's less expensive.   The fact they didn't do an ICO with Ardor increases my confidence in the project, though apparently they do plan to do an ICO with Ignis, one of the Ardor child chains. We'll see if they can resist the urge to milk these child chains by doing a bunch of ICOs in the future.  At least they are honest about their intentions.. they ARE going to convert it to fiat.

Honestly you should use the service the market demands... I'm familiar with slack and am logged into 6 different coins.. I'm simply not gonna join telegram. I hold the coin anyways but the potential for it to gain value is hindered by not adopting the social media the market expects.   Some people like to go "against the grain" like that, so I respect your decision.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crime funded by bitcoin on: June 09, 2017, 02:07:52 PM
Bitcoin is more traceable than a lot of ways to launder money, from gold to cash, even gemstones or collector's items.. anything that has value can be used as a medium of exchange.  If so many big money interests weren't criminals themselves, cash would be outlawed by now and everything would be digital with traceable spending cards. Fortunately a lot of criminals are among the world's elite as well, and they're not going to legislate away ways to make themselves richer.  Bitcoin's a great way for billionaires to launder money.. it's part of the reason it's becoming so popular.. there's a huge underground world out there separate from the official, lawful world that people see on the surface. Humans can be very narcissistic and attracted towards "dark" activities because the allure of being "bad" and just getting ahead any way they can.

why is this in the bitcoin section?
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about rumors that bitcoin is going to die? on: June 09, 2017, 01:59:40 PM
I'm pretty sure bitcoin will move forward and the big mining conglomerates will be the ones that will lose in the end.. they don't have much of a leg to stand on. They can throw their weight around but they have sheer numbers not to mention ethics and the good of mankind working against them, and the free market in general. Change is natural.. change or die.  Adapt or perish. They must adapt, or they will simply be replaced and people will use proof of stake coins and throw them aside. They don't have a choice.

Get a US citizenship and come to South Dakota?  Where I'm at there's a labor shortage and studio apartments are cheap. You could easily make it around here.  I'm one of the most introverted people at my plant. They key is accepting yourself and focusing on your strengths and the positives in life.. and give up the meds.  You have to have discipline. Set goals and rewards and achieve those goals. Focus on personal growth, especially at a psychological level.  I do not connect that much with society either, but even that is all in your head. What you think is your reality, so focus on the things you wish to achieve, focus on the state of mind you want to have...

I can tell you all this but it will take years of personal development work and practice to "get it" .. you are still young and have your whole life ahead of you. Consider starting exercising. Get a pull up bar and a set of dumbbells and a bench, do some compound exercises like bench press, rows, and lots of pull ups. Deadlifts if you can get ahold of a barbell. Clean up your diet.. ditch the sugar. All these things will make you feel good and boost your confidence, and it becomes a self sustaining cycle.

The key is making performance improving habits and making them a permanent part of your life. We are creatures of habit programmed like monkeys to repeat past behaviors and get stuck in a routine.. it takes work to modify a routine.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about LiteCoin on: June 09, 2017, 01:50:41 PM
LTC is okay, but XRP is better.

Ripple is better, sorry mate.

And NEM is technically as good as Ripple if not better, and also cheaper, but the market doesn't care, it will pump what it wants to pump...
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Another Bubble Already? on: June 09, 2017, 01:41:27 PM
A law of nature is that stuff that is big will trickle down into what is smaller, like a tidal wave or a river... it can work the opposite way too, where small stuff flows into big and they form a synergistic harmony.  Bitcoin and ETH and trickling down to promising and not so promising altcoins.  We have a global economy with a combined credit value in the hundreds of trillions of dollars trickling down into the next big thing, crypto currencies and the blockchain.

I thought people at work didn't know much about investing in silver or gold, much less platinum or palladium.. well mention bitcoin to them and for the most part, their eyes gloss over and they have no idea... it's amazing how disconnected the general population is from anything of substance or depth. People's knowledge consists of very superficial things and it takes literally being hit in the face for them to notice anything else.

Sex, sports, movies, hunting, tats, music, alcohol, bars, clubs, and food.. that sums up the average person's existence (in America) and level of knowledge besides whatever specialized field they happen to get into. Not trying to sound judgmental, because in fact I'm not.. it's biologically driven and I'm into mindfulness and openness and acceptance anyways, it's nonetheless fun to observe. Smiley
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No ICO on: June 09, 2017, 01:04:08 PM
I always wonder who the sellers are here. You know this coin is going up to 30,000 sats with a 50M+ market cap so why would you even sell here? Day traders and bots I suppose.  If anything this will pull an ark and be an easy $100M coin.   It's interesting how technical analysis tends to prevail no matter how sure a thing an investment is.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wich cryptocurrency is the most promising? on: June 09, 2017, 12:55:54 PM
Thank you, whoever recommended blackcoin to me. The original proof of stake coin is doing well this morning. Others I like are VIA which is a litecoin like coin which is implementing a lot of new features, xtrabytes with the static nodes, pascal coin with the blockchain trimming technology, bitbay with it's online marketplace, Ark, Shift, and BitSend.  Obviously I'm going to recommend coins I own like everyone does. I try to do research to cherrypick the best.   I tend to miss pumps of crap ones with good names because of that (litedoge for example)
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about LiteCoin on: June 09, 2017, 12:51:12 PM
Hard to predict the future. It's dependent on what bitcoin will do. For what it's worth, VIA is a version of litecoin that's implementing a lot of the same things and more and trades on poloniex. I'm amazed it hasn't pumped yet.  I've been holding bitcoin over litecoin and it's been outperforming lately.  I have a feeling the greedy miners are going to eventually lose in bitcoin and solutions to reduce fees and increase scalability will be adopted. They're facing a losing battle and don't have much of a leg to stand on.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No ICO on: June 09, 2017, 12:31:30 PM
It's interesting watching these trading bots... despite the buyers already asking higher prices the bots put in sell orders for 19000 which is below the asking price and get taken out immediately. Effectively giving away blackcoin cheaper than they need to because their programming isn't keeping up with the rising price.   Don't get to watch a pump in progress very often. The buyers literally chase each other upward in price and suck up all sell walls. Interesting to watch.   30K sell orders get taken out in seconds.

Up to 21000 sats as I edit this post.  Again the bots aren't keeping up and are posting sell orders for 20600.

Massive buying interest continues.... 22700.... 23000... lots of buy orders  23200, 23500... lol  23999...  sell wall now forming. 22000 sell wall taken out.  Back up we go. lol
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [WGR] | Wagerr | The Betting Blockchain | Bounties on: June 09, 2017, 12:15:01 PM
So why exactly some people were against this coin? Any summaries?

Although I bought a BTC worth I must admit the way they set up the ICO to me smells funny.. they throw in these little things they say they will do if they can get to such and such funding level... I wouldn't be surprised if they took  the money and ran after they raised the ICO. If they do, this will be my first  and last ICO... I'll only do coins with a NEM style free stake distribution model in the future. Time will tell. Good luck, investors!
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No ICO on: June 09, 2017, 12:04:33 PM
Got in on this one yesterday a pretty nice amount.  Nice move.  Agreed on seeing proof of work die... the miners create new POF/POS hybrid coins, mine them all, and dump them on everyone. They're the parasite of the crypto space... though all the early adopters of POS coins tend to hold all of them which leads to the same problem... NEM requires 3 million for a supernode, and xtrabytes has closed static nodes and wants to charge a fee for new ones that goes to the miners... the people who got mass numbers of coin for close to nothing don't need even more payouts... so in the end you do save power but end up having the same problem... the whales own all the early coin and keep the rules slanted to their favor.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any coins being pumped at the moment? on: June 09, 2017, 02:08:36 AM
I like for future moves Pascal, VIA, Bitbay, Blackcoin, Shift, Xtrabytes, BitSend, and Ark which has already moved.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIFT - The next 100x potential on: June 09, 2017, 02:06:44 AM
I'm in this one.. I like to call it "shit" even though it's not shit just because my tourette's likes to sneak out from time to time. Smiley
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will the price of Dogecoin be by the year 2020? on: June 09, 2017, 02:01:04 AM
I would diversify/divest out at this market cap and go into coins like Bitbay, VIA, Blackcoin, and Pascal. All low market cap. All trade on major exchanges. All have active development, and interesting features.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 08, 2017, 04:02:14 PM
The reason many of those other coins are more popular is they started out as POW or hybrid coins so they have the mining whales promoting them.  Supernode requirements are too high right now and a lot of the early whales control all the nodes and get all the fees with NEM.  Popularity might increase if supernode requirement was reduced to 250K.  Regular nodes simply don't get enough of the fees to make it worth their while. You might be able to get whales to buy up 250K nem, but they're not going to buy up 3 million NEM.. never. gonna. happen.

Whether people want to admit it or not, this coin is fairly centralized due to the 3 million supernode requirement.  It's my one criticism with NEM, just like I criticize Xtrabytes for having all their static nodes tied up in the hand of early investors who got the coin for next to nothing.   Of course, if you make the supernode requirement 250K, a lot of early supernode holders might dump a bunch of NEM. If that happens it will be a healthy thing in the long haul.

Have to think 10 steps ahead, not worry about maintaining the status quo and the current market cap.

I'm a weather nut so I kind of like the name, lol... and the basis for the blockchain is proven POW/POS tech with one minute block times.. nothing groundbreaking, though.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] The new web | IPFS ready on testnet+IPFS gateway! Come in and play! on: June 08, 2017, 03:43:39 PM
Haha reminds me of Pascal.. with that wallet it's easy to see which account owns what and Poloniex has 85% of the circulating supply in their wallet.

In any case, just bought 4000 SHIFT @ 76000 sats.  Long and strong. Nice rebound in progess.
