601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: March 02, 2014, 07:59:26 PM
there's already hundreds of altcoins out there that are 'mined' .. that's the last thing we really need is another mined coin for someone with a large ASIC rig or CPU farm to make more money on. The original promise to investors was no mining, even distribution by account stake.

Want to reward people for setting up nodes, creating ways to exchange the coin, or other unique features, I have no problem with that? Mining, already been done hundreds of times elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with giving the coins to the account stakeholders, as promised.
602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Identity Of Satoshi Nakamoto REVEALED! on: February 28, 2014, 03:29:19 PM
back in the day I used to care about this jewish conspiracy stuff, but I really don't anymore. However it's a documented fact that jews, although they only make up 2% of the population of the US, are about 25% of all the millionaires, plus they dominate hollywood, politics, banking, and legal areas. They are good with money and loyal towards they own... although they preach multiculturalism  and try to make other nations melting pots by encouraging open immigration they do not practice what they preach. Although they are powerful, they are not the top of the pyramid.. the top is not even the top.. you have the hidden underground chamber...

So they are middle to middle high tier in the grand power structure and it varies by person to whether they are members of secret societies or just simply wealthy... even presidents and major figures are not the ones really in control.. if you know their name, they are not in control. They are actors.

I still think 9/11 is an inside job, but no longer care.. those who are in the secret societies, run the world's central banks, and also control the major media of major nations... so you hear what they want you to hear and get something closer to what really happened by going and digging online and even then it's only speculation.

I really like this. I dont know why. Maybe its the Simplicity. A New Economy doesn't need to be complicated.
Too plain though.lets add some fantastic colours

that can be arranged. Wink  I don't know if any entity still holds the trademark to the image though. It used to be used for something else... by that I mean the circle, triangle, square logo.  I'm sure some posters here must know what... a hint would be that if you watched "star trek voyager" when it was putting out new episodes you likely watched it on what network?

605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins: My Random Thoughts on: February 26, 2014, 06:07:27 PM
There's no original altcoin left, they are all clones of each other and picking one is like throwing a dart at a dartboard, they are all inherently worthless. Before long there will be 300 of them listed on coinmarketcap.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whose got all this Bitcoin to dump? Three simple answers on: February 26, 2014, 05:54:58 PM
whiny ass crybabies only in this for profit and it shows... whining because people are using it for commerce and the retailers are converting the coins to USD and distributing them on the open market? Give me a break.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Scary future of BitCoins - the Death? on: February 23, 2014, 04:09:01 PM
the mistake people make is getting so greedy they don't back one coin... example dogecoin people slowly starting to pump worldcoin.... if even dogecoin holders are not loyal to their currency what chance does some other no name currency have? They are all becoming nameless, faceless currencies and it's hard to find justification to invest in any of them.

With that said there's a reverse head shoulders formation on bitcoin... it's possible that it may have found bottom and could go up from here. I still won't invest at $600 per coin, it's still too concentrated in too few hands. Sorry, it's not worth $10,000 a coin. Drink the kool aid if you want...
608  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can you buy Bitcoins on Mt Gox and transfer the bitcoins to your wallet? on: February 22, 2014, 03:38:34 PM
the funny thing is, GOX used to have higher prices BECAUSE it was so hard to get fiat out, and all the sites quoted their price to fluff up bitcoin and make it look more valuable... now that you can't get fiat out at all, you'd think the coins would be $1200 and everybody would be quoting them! Wink  Perhaps the fact you can't even get BTC out has caused the low prices.... inquiring minds have to ask themselves this...
609  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How many of these mistakes are you making? on: February 22, 2014, 03:21:26 PM
I really don't care if the NSA is spying on me. I should, but I don't do anything illegal. I just don't have that 'rebel' sort of personality. I should care.... I used to care... but I don't. They would just get bored. I'm willing to trade some freedom for extra security and truly believe the NSA is really just trying to keep arab terrorists and other undesirables at bay... why there are even arab terrorists threatening us and our foreign policy decisions is a subject of another discussion entirely.  They are not going to care about blue collar joe schmo going smoking pot or speeding or something like that. They don't have time for that. Only local law enforcement cares about that...and you have to get caught doing that even. Does the NSA care that people have bitcoins? Perhaps, since bitcoin does attract people who participate in illegal activities. Just your average altcoin trader not reporting his capital gains?  I suppose if you get good enough at it...

Why should I not use gmail? I'm more concerned with joe bitcoin hacker bypassing my 2 factor authentication than I am the NSA caring about what I'm doing. I look at google as a company positively.. they benefit society and for the most part offer innovation and higher levels of open source than for example Apple, spending money on projects that benefit people.  I'd be more concerned about a phone rep giving away my password without the proper credentials or even with the proper credentials.. I doubt the NSA is looking to steal people's identities and run away with their money.. that's something criminals do... for the most part, I look at the system, look at what these agencies do, and I'm satisfied enough that I can trust my accounts to my gmail... with my 32 random character password and 2 factor authentication, shredder at home to try to not keep personal information laying around in case someone decides to rob the place, and online bill statements whenever possible to eliminate personal information via the snail mail... these are the precautions I take.

If you need more security, more power to you. Make sure you use it! Wink

TLDR: In the end, I'd be more worried about random joe criminal stealing your identity than the NSA, since you can do quite a bit with a social security number and naive phone reps, but for all I know, some of you reading this are the ones doing the identity stealing...
610  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If we're going to make Pot illegal, why not ban alcohol? on: February 22, 2014, 03:14:54 PM
Certain liberal types want to ban cigarettes while legalizing marijuana as well. I have to admit that is inconsistent. I support the rights of smokers to smoke in private. I feel sorry for their kids, and I hated when I was a kid going to weddings where everyone was smoking like they are going to die tomorrow, having to inhale that crap. Still gotta have some consistency.. you can't legalize marijuana and ban cigarettes.. that's stupid and illogical.  I would not let people smoke pot in public places if they can't also smoke cigarettes. Both should be banned in bars and restaurants.. people can do that stuff at home or at concerts, whatever.

If however someone wants to bring "pot brownies" into a bar or place like that... more power to them. It's the smoke that is the distinguishing factor here and affecting other's enjoyment by doing it. I look forward to the day it's banned in indian casinos.
611  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think cannabis should be allowed for medical and personal use? on: February 22, 2014, 03:05:23 PM
Of course. I suffer from gastroparesis and having access to legal medical marijuana would be wonderful, as marijuana is GREAT for nausea... it takes the nausea away better and more quickly than just about anything, and with dosages not even high enough to get a person 'high' ... people who are healthy or brainwashed by big pharma don't understand how much money there is behind expensive drugs that won't work half as well and are arguably harder on the liver.... in the case of nausea, you are talking about the drug 'zofran' which I've tried and is useless for nausea caused by digestive problems.

People with sliding hiatal hernias who get nausea would benefit as well as cancer patients, etc.  Reduce suffering....

Medical reasoning aside, people should be able to use whatever drugs they want just because the drug war is idiotic. Police should spend time doing better things than worrying  about people who casually use drugs. Some get caught, some don't, and the wealthy can 'buy' their freedom as well. It's very biased against the little guy as well as minorities since they will get profiled with harsher punishments just for their race.
612  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin: Revolution Or Trap? on: February 22, 2014, 03:02:54 PM
Once we have matter energy transport, allowing us to live anywhere, and food replication, allowing us to no longer farm, it will free up vast numbers of resources and reduce the requirements for people to be wage slaves for life for peanuts.. I look forward to that day. I suspect the power structure won't want to give up their power base and ability to make money off the backs of others so easily though... the change will take time.....  as for having no money, that will take a very long time... human nature dictates certain people lust for power, status, and wealth, and as long as these people exist, there are going to want to acquire more and more of these resources. I am not one such individual however I know some that are.

I'd rather not get into my views just yet but sit by and let some responses come in and then join in later... though a search of past posts will show my position, a logical position based on rationality and not on emotional pandering mind you, the conclusion of an INTJ. I can understand why some feel the opposite as myself however.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Scary future of BitCoins - the Death? on: February 22, 2014, 01:06:41 PM
namecoin with it's .bit domain name could be interesting, but it would take support from a major DNS like google for it to work.

Memorycoin has a voting system in place that I find interesting.

New Economy Movement is going to have a large starting community from it's fair distribution system however and it's supposedly being built from the ground up.

Ripple has some interesting prospects, however the potential for pure profit on this one is likely low, whether that matters.  Using the world community grid is easy.

What else? There's so many coins out there that it's hard to pick just some random clone coin.

dogecoin laminated paper wallet available in sig
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The best Bitcoin cold storage? on: February 22, 2014, 09:24:41 AM
Armory paper wallet packup, with a 2-of-3 recovery option, or 3-of-5 or whatever.

As long as you're the only one who knows the location of ALL 2 (or 3) pieces needed to restore, it doesn't matter if one of the pieces burns.

very sweet.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The best Bitcoin cold storage? on: February 22, 2014, 04:50:37 AM
Laminating is fun.
For quite a while years ago I laminated tons of stuff just to do it like a dork.  My girlfriend at the time (now Wife) thought I was goofy.  Joke was on her when we had moved and a couple boxes got wet.  She was so happy I had laminated a couple of her certifications.  She did not lose them.

Make a paper wallet using the link in my signature. If you are paranoid print your paper wallets using "hiren's boot CD" disconnected from the internet with the print spooler turned off.  Buy a cheap laminator and the credit card sized laminating pads from wally-fart. Print your wallet and private key and follow the directions. The private key cannot be exposed unless the lamination is cut open and the cold storage is now fairly weatherproof and you can make multiple copies of a single wallet for a safe deposit box or whatever.

I love laminating things. What self respecting male doesn't love playing with fire, or heat and melting things? Wink

nice. My newest thing is storing all my account passwords on "lastpass" .. all of them are now random gibberish passwords generated from password generators... the master password to lastpass is a random password I have laminated into a QR code stored in my physical wallet and safe deposit box. The password to the main google account associated with all my important accounts including lastpass has it's own random  password that is also laminated as a QR code.. this password is not stored on lastpass. Both are protected by google 2 factor authentication. As secure as I can make it and no longer have to remember passwords. Smiley I have an "MS-1690" 2D USB barcode scanner I bought on ebay recently to scan these barcodes if I'm not using a phone (which I don't and have the mobile bypass feature turned off)

"I just scored 97.4% on the LastPass Security Challenge ranking 1678th overall. It securely analyzes the strength of your passwords, alerts you if you have any duplicate or weak passwords, and tells you how to make them more secure."

https://i.imgur.com/WUtFKdU.png

I also made and laminated a series of barcodes for work since we use barcode scanners as part of the job and have to change passwords and remember usernames and sometimes relogin to buggy java software that freezes every hour or two, the barcodes come in handy. Smiley

This brings up another little thing I enjoy doing.. making complex 2D barcodes of various types and with various texts.. I don't know why barcodes fascinate me... I can't imagine before the days of bar codes and self checkout having to wait behind a line of old farmer joes as they manually type in the price of everything by hand.. I'd go crazy!

It would be fairly difficult to break open the lamination without anyone noticing, or adding personal identification or watermarks underneath, so it might be useful for selling... can only be returned if lamination is intact, etc. I'd use a UV marker to the underside of the lamination before laminating then you can detect of the lamination is your original lamination.. all sorts of ideas along those lines.

619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is 0.00000001 BTC "too small" with Bitcoin QT? on: February 21, 2014, 10:44:24 PM
what do you need to go around sending one cent for? I think they should get rid of the cent in the US and round to the nickel.... and round to nearest 50 cents in bitcoin to get rid of worthless 'advertising' spam transactions. Stop whining.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is A joke and will never last. on: February 17, 2014, 04:44:07 PM
Ladies and Gentleman, WorldCoin is the solution. The transaction is fully confirmed in 60 seconds (sometimes even in 30 seconds).
People have not noticed the coin yet though....  Wink
Everybody screams "BITCOIN BITCOIN" and WorldCoin is forgotten pearl.

there are dozens of other altcoins with quick transaction times... what makes your pump better than another pump? I'd argue that something like Ripple that is trying to advertise itself and play fair with the current system stands the best chance. The altcoin that can decentralize the exchange process somehow will do well.  There's still a matter of getting cryptos converted into fiat, which realistically must be possible. Also fraud protection, insurance, and all that fun stuff would be helpful.

People are still not being honest with themselves, what they really want is a good pump so they can 'cash in' from the craze...
