Anyone can say anything. It doesn't make the statement valid.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best ICOs right now? on: December 17, 2017, 12:03:09 AM
Low key shilling for Zabercoin I see.

What real estate they're supposedly going to invest? Where, in which country/city? It's the dumbest idea.

They won't do shit and just ask for money for themselves as most ICOs do...

Pretty much this. The fact that someone can make up a flashy campaign and promise lot of fluff and raise millions of dollars in funding shows that this market is kind of manic right now, like the IPO market was during the tech bubble in 1999, which most of you here won't remember. When the tech bubble burst in 2000, the IPO market just vanished... poof.

I'm not convinced there's going to be a huge crash here though, because of the fact the global economy is so much more massive than a 500 billion dollar crypto currency market. What's going to be the undoing of bitcoin is greed... people making new forks every month will destroy bitcoin's credibility. I called it here in this post. You think the media won't pick up on this?   With that said, another coin will just take it's place.   People like places to put money where it can be safe from criminal, unconstitutional civil asset forfeiture or shady governments all over the world who don't have their citizen's best interests at heart.

With that said, certain precious metals look dirt cheap here. I won't say which ones until I've loaded up on a couple dozen ounces. I suggest the whales here take a good look at some of the platinum group metals and their above ground supplies and consider buying them. The problem with this is chinese make fakes that often pass off as real and act to dilute the supply. Similar to how the chinese are now making bitcoin forks. Go figure. Can't they make anything that's not a knockoff of someone else's idea?
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to invest on: December 16, 2017, 11:58:51 PM
You need an account that handles USD transactions if you live in the US. I recommend Gemini. From there you can do bank wires and you'll want to get your identity confirmed so you can withdraw larger amounts. Even with a confirmed identity poloniex only lets you take out $25,000 per day which is kind of low even by the standards of someone who is not a whale.

On another note, this is my 666th post. Wink
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is a million dollars possible? on: December 16, 2017, 11:50:31 PM
That would give bitcoin a market cap of 16.7 trillion dollars, which is not possible, in my opinion. $100,000 is possible, but the amount of global money needed to hit a market cap of 16 trillion dollars will not be achieved without a huge global inflationary event. Throw in these forks that they are having and more likely will be that the mainstream media will start questioning the legitimacy of bitcoin.  If you ask me people are getting too greedy for their own good and shooting themselves in the foot for short term gain when they do stuff like introduce a new fork of bitcoin every month.  People complain to me because they don't like that I support DeepOnion when they think it's a scam but then they go and pump these bitcoin forks like Bitcoin Diamond as if they do nothing to hurt bitcoin in the long haul.. give me a break.

Hopefully a good proof of stake based coin with a catchy name can spur a "new economy movement" in crypto currencies and take the front spot. Wink
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ►►►[XBC] BitcoinPlus ►Official Thread◄官方公告◄◄◄ on: December 16, 2017, 11:11:36 PM
New investors tend to be very price focused so when they see each coin is already $100 they might be hesitant to invest. Many of them have no concept of total market cap and will buy IOTA with a super high marketcap because the coins themselves are super cheap. If it wasn't for that I might back this one and buy $10K to $20K worth but human psychology plays against it because of the stigma of each coin being worth $100.  I know, BTC and LTC are at higher prices, but they are BTC and LTC. Nice coin otherwise. Looks suspiciously familiar. Wink

I would suggest doing a 10 for 1 coin split, if possible, and giving all owners 10 coins for every one they hold and increasing the total supply by a factor of 10. You could even go 50 for 1 and be perfectly fine. How many altcoins have been able to make big gains with low coins supplies and high prices? The number is not high.

Where I work people won't buy into the company stock because they say the "price is too high" and they want the company to split the stock first. When I tell them that it doesn't matter what the price is, if they split the stock the number of total shares doubles anyways, their eyes seem to gloss over. Given the amount of "dumb money" investing in cryptos, you have to look at shit like this.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Coins are down & good for buying NOW?! on: December 16, 2017, 10:20:29 PM
Well since you asked I'll pump ones that I own.

ONION

XBY

PASC

XEM

ARK

XBY and PASC have features that to my knowledge no other crypto currencies currently have that would come in quite handy. XEM should be what BTC is now. It's much more suitable to be a crypto currency used for everyday transactions. When "Mega" asked if I wanted to pay for my services with bitcoin, I remember there's something like a $20 fee per transaction now, and used my credit card. No point in using BTC for everyday transactions these days. On another note it's a good reason to look for coins and services that offer debit card solutions that get around the fee issue.

Here's a little DD on XBY

If there's one thing I learned in all my investing years it's that you don't win if you don't play. Generally NOT being invested almost universally ends up being a bad idea in most cases. I should be a multi-millionaire but I thought it was in a bubble when the global market cap got to $125B and then life got in the way and I left during a few critical months with too much not invested.  Just holding the LTC I went and bought at $30/coin but sold would have made a huge difference. Any number of little moves would have made a big impact, but I'm always too concerned with profit preservation. Sigh.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What about DeepOnion? on: December 15, 2017, 08:14:35 AM
I have heard stories of people getting banned from their forum for no reason. Comes off that they are being shady and don't want to give out too many airdrops. Like some one else on here said it definitely feels like more of a cult.

I can't say I've seen much of this. People I've seen banned have been kicked for multiple accounts and attempting to abuse the system. They're quite strict on some of their tasks, but for good reason, to ensure people don't abuse. They're actually pretty chilled an relaxed otherwise.

It's similar to NEM when people tried using sockpuppet accounts to get multiple stakes way back in the day. It can be hard to catch but when the same IP address is found to have logged into more than one account there's probable cause right there. I would suggest not using a VPN to log into their forums as the likelyhood of "sharing" an ip address with someone else goes way up. Or if you want to abuse, I suppose you can try using the VPN on one account but at some point you'll slip up and there go both accounts potentially.

Like a lot of altcoins, they get to keep a large percentage for themselves. 2 million founder's reward and 3 million for development fund. That's something like 30% of the total supply. Indeed 99% of altcoins that are created end up this way, and ICOs well  there you're just giving them boatloads of money, in many cases far more than what gets created when you create an altcoin and distribute it in this manner.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will XTRABYTES (XBY) Be A Top 10 Cryptocurrency By The End Of 2018? on: December 15, 2017, 07:58:00 AM
I'm on the lookout for coins with unique tech. XBY and PASC are two on that list.  I still need to find more that sport a low market cap! Too many generic "smart contract" coins out there right now that don't really stick out from each other.

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - BECAUSE THE BLOCKCHAIN CAN BE BETTER on: December 15, 2017, 05:45:09 AM
The next goal exchange wise should be Binance in my opinion... would be even better then getting listed on bittrex. everyone loves binance these days for some reason.

Agreed. Nice moves. The true test to get exposure will be to see how much the whales can resist selling. The reason NEM got as big as it did other than the fact it had great tech was people like myself simply didn't sell. The development team and the founders didn't sell. Limited supply increased the market cap quickly, which drew more attention and more volume. It retained a high market cap despite having lower volume, and it still has lower volume to this day, which is something characteristic of coins that don't have a proof of work component since so many miners pump POW coins. It's the sign of long term vision versus dumping to take profits.  The more expensive it gets the more exposure it gets, the more volume it gets, and it's that much easier to sustain a high price. I think the devs on some coins shoot themselves in the foot selling what they have too early just to get any funds at all when if they delayed gratification they could become a top 50 coin and really have gotten 10-20 fold more money that way, money to hire a real development team and things flourishing. Not that cryptos are supposed to be about the money.

The tech here is unique.. not many coins have unique tech. PascalCoin is the only other coin that comes to mind with unique tech.  If there are other coins that are proof of signature like this one, or have user accounts and blockchain trim like PASC, let me know.

Ideally the whales don't sell until we're well into the top 100 on coinmarketcap, and the founders focus on getting us into Binance, though I admit I have no problem with Cryptopia. It's where I went to acquire my ONION. I have yet to even get a Binance account.   The fact we're one of the top volume coins on Cryptopia is telling...  people want this coin...
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: December 15, 2017, 04:21:08 AM
but they banning action really bad
me only do 3 task per week also can be banned with poor quality reason

just beware of applying for vip task
anyone can be banned near airdrop time just with poor quality reason  Angry

If this happens to me I will reevaluate things. I may not even waste my time with these tasks at all. I don't even know how much they pay out.. unless it's the equivalent of what I make at my day job I'll probably just stake my wallet, collect the airdrops, and be done with it.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: December 15, 2017, 04:14:07 AM
please deep-shitters get some legendary accounts and bitcoin whales that have knowdlege about crypto to shill for you guys - it is so sad to see only newbie accounts from africa defending deep shit  Cry

the ponzi seems to be out of gas soon  Roll Eyes

and btw. i would write down every detail of the "devs" - atleast you can crowdfund a russian mobstar later when you realize you got scammed and are living under a bridge lol :S

People made similar accusations about NEM back when the stake signup process was going on. I'm not concerned. I'd be more concerned if and when the bubble bursts and the global marketcap in 18 months is at $250B or less... all people holding most shitcoins will be under water. Keep those stop loss orders ready unless you have a multi year holding period in mind and watch the action. That may or may not happen. Time will tell.   Anyways if the developers keep developing the coin and make me money, I'm happy. Isn't that what altcoins are about?

Most altcoins are pyramid schemes of one degree or another. People are hoping other people will pay higher prices than they did. That's the definition of a pyramid. I would consider the equity and commodity markets to also be pyramid schemes of sorts, though certainly people don't want to classify them that way. What about real estate.. hoping someone will pay more for your house down the road...

Low marketcap plus active development plus strong community plus airdrops means I'm willing to throw $10K into it and see what happens, for me a trivial amount of money.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: December 15, 2017, 04:09:51 AM
All of deeponion paid shills and supporters are immoral motherfuckers. They will support any scam that is paying out and will sell out anything and anybody for a couple bucks a weeks. If that Chinese dude Crypto-Rainbow will offer them to suck his dick for more free onions, they will agree for sure.

The immoral motherfuckers are the guys who support (invest behind the scenes, or actively partake in the communities) 99% of all coins that ever posted on this site and claim that the other 99% coins are scams and fraud.

There has been only 1-2 coins in the past 5 years that have legitimate practical use or are the stepping stones to doing so. The rest of digital currencies were created for 1 purpose and 1 purpose only, to enrich the pyramid.

The devs/founders of these coins are all money hungry whores as well, and that fosters a large market cap, by getting your shills to buy in the coin to create the illusion that non-investors in shitcoin X are missing out on Shitcoin X. You put your money in, you create value for the coin (price mcap etc) and you take it out and become rich when enough people have bought into it.

I'm not defending DO, and I've stated i don't like their devs.  But, again 99% of cryptos ever launched on these forums have the same type of community and the same type of money hungry whores as DO. There is no difference. The hypocrisy that's occurring here is triggering me.

If you're that braindead to mock this coin, then you should take a hard look at any shitcoin you've invested in and ask yourself "why is my shitcoin different?" it isn't, it's only different because you've invested your time or money into it.

Wake the fuck up you hypocritical idiots.

Finally someone who gets it. Bash deeponion but passively condone the 27 bitcoin forks that are coming out in the next 3 months. This by my definition makes bitcoin a scam coin as well. Who's just trying to cash in now? Everyone's just out to make a buck in this space.. let's be honest here. None of these coins have any intrinsic value because they are all open source and if a corporation wants to use them they will simply copy one, with no remuneration.

You want the honest truth? Aside from being a store of value, 99% of these crypto currencies are going to end up with no services, accomplishing absolutely nothing. They are a stepping stone to the blockchain technology that will replace them, technology that will be constantly evolving, and I have to tell you, the numerous bitcoin forks coming out are not what I would call "evolution" ... the first evolution in this space was proof of stake, delegated proof of stake, and hybrid proof of stake and work, and from there we will continue.. of course the mining hogs will always promote the proof of work coins.

Which one of those evolutionary features does deeponion support?

I will admit it's nothing ground breaking. It's a hybrid proof of work/proof of stake coin which offers advantages when it comes to confirmation times and fee structure. It uses the tor network which adds a layer of security. The main selling point is a community structure designed to promote development and advertising of the coin by the people who have a vested interest in it. It has one of the most active communities for a coin it's marketcap that I've come across. Heck NEM doesn't get 1/2 the messages on their board and they're a top 10 coin.

It's somewhat like NEM when they gave away all the stakes way back when hoping it would give more people a chance to own the coin thus they'd be motivated to promote it. (I was one who got a stake)  I don't put it at the same class as NEM, but I believe a profit can be made from it. For me that's all that matters. When I pick stocks in the stock market I don't get myself emotionally attached to them. I weigh the fundimentals and ask myself if there's profit to be made.

If I start not getting my airdrops or any other suspicious things start to happen I'll reweigh my opinion accordingly. This is one reason I decided not to invest in Centra. They weren't making their payouts and weren't responding to inquiries. The development team of a coin does need to be held to a standard. When you're talking about millions of  dollars there's no excuse for disappearing for weeks at a time and not keeping people updated. I will monitor things. :p

75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☃☃☃ The #1 Factor Driving Bitcoin Prices ☃☃☃ on: December 14, 2017, 10:34:55 AM
In case you haven't noticed greed drives all of society, from major game publishers milking their users for DLC or online mode, to content providers like ESPN demanding more money for their service, to apps offering intrusive advertising.. the circulatory system we call the global economy revolves around greed. So what?

It is amazing how cryptos have managed to mimic the global economy though. Even in coins that were supposedly fairly distributed, a relatively few people own a large chunk of the net worth.  In any case 500 billion dollars is still a drop in the bucket from a global economic perspective, however the easy money has clearly been made. I don't expect 20 trillion dollars in crypto currency. I don't even expect 10 trillion dollars. Instead of just being able to invest in anything and watch it go up, one will have to start to be more selective. I could be wrong, though. I was certainly wrong calling a top earlier in year.

http://fortune.com/2015/10/14/1-percent-global-wealth-credit-suisse/

I left a lot of money on the table, but made a lot, too. I'm annoyed I didn't make enough to retire. I'm greedy. Wink  If the altcoins I own do well, I will have enough though. I have faith in the development team on a few of them especially.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising coins of 2018 on: December 14, 2017, 10:01:10 AM
NEM... what brought me most of my crypto riches from a stake way back when. I still hold some of this. Fast transaction time, proof of importance, low fees, fast transactions (assuming your exchange doesn't require 20 confirmations)

Deeponion... running the blockchain over the TOR network. Active development, very strong team, and an airdrop in progress. Everything seems to be running smoothly on this one right now.

PASC... get yourself a PASA account which is where you store your coins, this allows the blockchain to be trimmed down and have a maximum size, because the funds are stored in separate wallets you don't need the transaction data going back to the beginning of time, just enough to ensure the transaction is legitimate and done properly. New they let you name your account kind of like a DNS points a domain name to an IP address.. same thing, so you can send money to whatever name you choose. Written in Pascal hence the name, and under active development, this is one I think should be 10/20x it's current valuation. The size of the blockchain is one of the limiting factors to making things work well. This addresses that problem.

Xtrabytes. This one has a unique proof of signature setup, enough to get me invested in it a number of months back. I need to freshen up on the progress they've made with static nodes and the like.
Here's some information
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@shawnfishbit/xtrabytes-releases-roadmap-and-introduces-utility-token-xfuel

Wagerr.  After reading more into this one I am going to hold it instead of sell it. They plan to ditch the waves token format and start their own proof of stake blockchain in the coming month or two. Good name, reasonably strong development team, it's gambing and gambling is a big untapped market, and it's cheap.

Ark. They have too much going on to explain in a couple of sentences. Dig into their thread and see for yourself. I like their transparency. The team members are all listed right there. This one is delegated
proof of stake with 7 second block times and fast transactions.

I'm still in the research phase so I'll be looking at other people's listing in this thread, particularly ones with a market cap under $100M. I like to throw $5 to $15K in my altcoin investments I think might be 10 baggers or better. I'm focused on scalability, privacy, active development teams, and low market caps. I don't need to give another investing 101 lesson but price of a coin doesn't matter. It's price times total number of coins equals market cap. The lower the market cap, the easier it is to go up many time's your purchase price.  These are also less liquid which makes it harder to purchase large amounts in a short period of time at a good price. 80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Forks Coming Out on: December 14, 2017, 01:44:22 AM
This really is a sign the chinese are running the show. Not to sound racist, but they do clone everything and anything... clothing, fake precious metals replicas, coins, and now multiple bitcoin forks. They don't care that it makes bitcoin look like a scam, they just want their money. Not a good sign.   Fortunately, when people sign up to buy bitcoin, they are buying one... BTC. It's the only one that matters. Of course if they have to pay a $17 fee to buy $500 in bitcoins they might not be too happy.  It's up to use to find a bitcoin replaces and up to the exchanges to adopt it. I vote NEM.  I'd say LTC but I can even see them making forks. NEM won't fork out. It has a solid team in place.
