261  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 vaccination becoming a criteria to live in the world on: September 21, 2021, 05:25:46 AM
Got my 2nd dose today with pfizer. Here in my place there are lot of discounts in every store like there are gasoline stations that has discounts in every liter you purchase for vacinnated person. There are also few restaurants. I think private sectors are getting or pushing people to get vaccinated

The problem with Pfizer is that the efficacy of the vaccine wanes after 5-6 months. A recent study found that the efficacy of Pfizer reduces to just 42%, after five months (compared to this, Moderna fares much better and it has a 76% efficacy after 5 months). Then you need to get a booster dose to remain protected against COVID. This is one of the disadvantages for mRNA vaccines, when compared to Non-Replicating Viral Vector types. On the other hand, the overall efficacy of vaccines like AstraZeneca (AZD1222) may be lower, but they offer protection for a much longer duration.

It's no wonder England is canceling their tour of Pakistan. It was a bad decision to leave Pakistan to fight its own battle. It is sad that politics and terrorism can affect sports. Though I understand the disappointment of both fans and administrators, it would be more productive if they practice internally and focus on the perception the world holds of Pakistan rather than playing the blame game.

Pakistan should first take care of its own problems. The fact that they got blacklisted by the FATF recently talks a lot about their ongoing troubles. And you can't force any team to visit a country, which they find to be unsafe. The only solution is to move the venue to a third country, where the matches can be played without any security concern. And already the BCCI has moved IPL to UAE/Oman due to COVID issue. I don't think that PCB need to think twice on this, and they should discuss with the Emirates Cricket Board to find a suitable solution to the problem.

^ I think sometimes prayer just takes it too easy. They think they have done everything alright and enough so they can have a long rest. But a lot of them can push their body further than they always do. Players at times don't even remember that they are professionals and they get paid for playing better. They treat it like a hobby but actually, they should treat it as a job. Because it is their job to play well and give their 100% no matter what. And if you simply cannot follow some simple rules then you should not be with the team.

I have noticed that some of the Indian players have become extremely arrogant nowadays. They believe that they should be treated as gods, and laws doesn't apply to them. The toothless behavior of the BCCI has further encouraged this behavior. If the BCCI had taken a strong stance after the bubble-breaches in IPL and Sri Lanka, then the players would have fallen in line. But the BCCI is busy with infighting and they didn't had the balls to take action against those who were responsible for the breach.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: September 20, 2021, 04:39:59 PM
LOL.. I am really having a horrible start to the second leg. Received zero points yesterday and today also it will be the same. Picked RCB for today's match and they failed to make a three digit total. I went for RCB because Pat Cummins is not there in KKR playing XI. But then Lockie Ferguson and Andre Russell proved to be even more deadly. I think KKR will get a 10 wicket victory today. RCB really looks clueless and the captain is nowhere to be found. I don't know where he is hiding. Anyway, this is turning out to be the perfect debut for Venkatesh Iyer.

After canceling newzealand and Pakistan series with the  political and governmental issues, then Pakistan cricket team invite Bangladesh cricket team to complete the series. But what would be responsed from Bangladesh cricket team?

Can an international tour be organized in such a short duration? And given the fact that the New Zealand tour was called off due to security reasons, it is even more unlikely that BCB would agree to a tour in such short duration. IMO, Pakistan should rather concentrate on the T20 World Cup. Less than a month remain for the tournament, and if they really want their revenge then they should try hard in winning the trophy. It will validate their argument that CNZ called off the tour because of the fear of losing.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 20, 2021, 04:08:24 AM
Every one love game that can be football, basketball, Cricket or any other. In that respect, I love T20 cricket very much. Which gives me more joy. Currently, IPL is in the biggest position of T20 league. Today there is Royal Challengers Bangalore play with Kolkata Knight Riders. That match will be very exciting. Today I think both teams will make good score. There are more world famous players in this match. Every T20 cricket enthusiast will enjoy the match.

This is going to be Virat Kohli's first T20 match since he stepped down as the captain. So it will be interesting. And he has already stated that he will step down as the RCB captain as well, after this edition of the IPL. Anyway, today it is going to be a battle between two star-studded sides. KKR will have the services of Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik, Lockie Ferguson, Sunil Narine and Shakib Al Hasan. RCB is a step higher in star power, with Virat Kohli, Tim David, AB de Villiers, Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Dogecoin survive without Elon Musk? on: September 20, 2021, 03:53:37 AM
The survival of Dogecoin will be dependent on its merits, and not on the celebrities who promote it. From what I can see, Dogecoin has far lower acceptability when compared to coins that are much below it in terms of market cap, such as Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero and Ethereum Classic. The current spike is solely due to the hype generated by celebrities like Elon, and not really due to any noticeable increase in acceptability or adoption. And the problem with such hype is that it seldom lasts long.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kid already making $32k monthly through ethtereum on: September 20, 2021, 03:42:43 AM
Great, really those examples are extra ordinary. Here in this OP example, I don't give only thanks to parents and also mining legit permission. Still, so many countries don't agree with mining and cryptocurrency. Those kids just took the opportunity of the highest GWEI Ethereum cost. We know that this process can't be stable but good enough for one and a half years.

Yeah.. I can understand what you are saying. In my country, cryptocurrency is still in grey area and the central bank wants the government to issue a blanket ban and arrest all the users. They still lives in the stone age and believes that the government has the right to infringe on personal liberties. In the developed countries, the governments are more supportive towards new technologies. And that is the reason why you will hear about these stories from countries like the US and the UK, but never from India or China.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: porn/sex industry and cryptocurrency on: September 19, 2021, 02:03:35 PM
The crypto currency is the best source of payment for the porn related payments because most of the people involving in these activities like to be anonymous. There are some tokens are created for the sake of porn industry even my current signature campaign also provide the same technology and I hope these tokens have more potential in the future.

And anonymity is something that the governments don't like.  Anyway, the question doesn't even arise in my country. Here the government has banned porn and has IP-blocked all the porn sites. But my country remains the at the top in the list of countries by number of porn consumers. In more liberal countries, the governments don't want to peek inside your bedroom to find out about your sex life. But here it is different. These guys have a sense of false morality on the outside and at the same time commit all sort of sexual abuses when they get the opportunity.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not panic sell when there is dump on: September 19, 2021, 01:35:44 PM
I would love to support the OP, but unfortunately different strategies need to be devised for different coins. There may be occasions where it is better to get rid of the coins when the prices are going down. An example is where it is known that a project is a scam and the developers have vanished without a trace. What is the point in holding such a token? Such projects have virtually zero chances of making a comeback. During my early days in the cryptocurrency sector, I made the mistake of investing in a few such projects.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: September 19, 2021, 01:23:27 PM
That's for sure as everyone knows the name CANELO in boxing.

And that will remain like that for the next 8-10 years at least. Not a big fan of Canelo Álvarez, but I have to admit that at this age (31 yrs) he has achieved more than almost any other professional boxer of recent times have achieved at a similar age. And he has a decade of professional boxing left in him, given that he maintains his fitness levels and stay out of injuries. I don't expect him to keep boxing until the 40s, like Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. Professional boxing is stressful and requires enormous effort. At some point he'll get tired of all this and may consider retirement.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: September 19, 2021, 01:12:57 PM
Anyone opted for CSK today? Not all of the participants have locked their picks, but I can see that 4 out of 6 have gone for Mumbai Indians. And most of the participants think that the winning margin (irrespective of the side) will be small. Right now, it is really unpredictable. I have made my prediction based on the fact that some of the important players are not available for CSK today. Their 4 overseas players are likely to be - Moeen Ali, Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir and Josh Hazlewood (last one is not confirmed, Lungi Ngidi may be picked instead of Josh).
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kid already making $32k monthly through ethtereum on: September 19, 2021, 01:01:42 PM
At least in this case, the kids are doing something productive. Children are very talented and knowledgeable nowadays, compared to the situation we had two or three decades ago. But that said, not all of them use their skills for the right purpose. Ever heard about Graham Ivan Clark? He was the guy who hacked the twitter account of Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian and Barack Obama, and then committed a give-away scam using the hacked accounts. He was 17-years old at the time of the crime. And I can give you numerous examples like this.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 19, 2021, 12:51:10 PM
Even i would like to see CSK perform well and i am expecting  Mahendra Singh Dhoni to cut loose and bat like he used to do when he first burst into the Indian team back in 2004, taking on bowlers and those were the best days when he played without any fear and if this is his last season with CSK i want him to end his IPL career with a win.

The decision to kick Kedar Jadhav out of the squad is perhaps the best thing that ever happened with the Chennai Super Kings. He played a major role in their debacle during the 2020 season. However during the 2021 season, the CSK middle order performed credibly and that is the reason they are doing so well in the points table. But I still worry about their bowling lineup, which is not as strong as some of the other franchises. There is some over-dependence on Deepak Chahar, but I hope this time others like Shardul Thakur will be able to offer good support.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Gas Fee is too High? on: September 19, 2021, 12:37:04 PM
will the launch of ethereum 2.0 be a solution to the problem of very high transaction fees?
we know ethereum has been developing for a long time, the use of blockchain technology from ethereum has also been developed by other projects that offer higher TPS. Ethereum transactions are also very crowded which makes these fees difficult to bring down. I think ethereum 2.0 probably won't have a big impact on these expensive transaction fees.

I have been hearing this for the last one year, but the gas fee has remained the same. Someone told me that the Berlin Hard Fork would result in a reduction in the gas prices. More than 6 months passed since the hard fork was activated, but I am yet to witness any noticeable change in transaction fee. From what I have seen, there is little enthusiasm from the part of the ETH developers to reduce the gas prices. They are always going for delaying tactics rather than real solutions. On the other hand, lightning has resulted in a 20x reduction in Bitcoin transaction fee.
276  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 19, 2021, 12:25:09 PM
Bitcoin is volatile, and their retirees are afraid to hold a banknote worth five hundred dollars today and depreciate to five dollars tomorrow. And for some older people, the ability to accept things is relatively weak, and some people think that Bitcoin is a virtual currency with low security.

Yes. Bitcoin is volatile. So what? Volatility of Bitcoin is not the topic here. If they think that Bitcoin is too volatile, then they don't need to use it. No one is forcing them to use Bitcoin or convert their savings to cryptocurrency. Personally I don't really care if a few old farts refuse to use Bitcoin. But here the problem is that these old farts will not allow others to use Bitcoin as well. Their demands make no sense. If someone actually wants to invest in BTC, what gives these pensioners the right to oppose that? I am all for FoE. But here it is more like bullying.
277  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador has just bought it’s first 200 coins on: September 19, 2021, 12:13:12 PM
I am struggling with the source of information on the adoption of bitcoin/cryptocurrency in Salvador, some news tend to the success while others to the failure. Salvador adoption had led to some countries move to adopting it, i hope the ETF is successful by November then bitcoin can go crazy again.

It has been just 12 days, since Bitcoin became the legal tender in El Salvador. To get a definite picture, you need to wait for at least a couple of months. Right now the people are polarized in to two camps and I am not sure which one is having a higher level of support. The vast majority are using Bitcoin for the first time and it will take at least a few weeks for them to get adjusted. As time progresses, I expect the youth and the middle-aged individuals to prefer BTC more, while I don't foresee any major change in the attitude of the pensioners.
278  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa’s crypto market has grown by more than 1,200% since 2020: Chainalysis on: September 19, 2021, 12:01:13 PM
One of the issues with the cryptocurrency markets in third world nations is that there is a higher proportion of scammers trying to con the unsuspecting investors. And this in turn will tarnish the reputation of cryptocurrency in general. We have seen multi-billion scams like OneCoin and PlusToken, targeting developing nations such as China and Vietnam. The market in Africa is in its infancy, but I am really afraid that the scammers are really going to target it hard. General awareness and risk perception tends to be lower in these markets, which in turn aids the scammers.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 18, 2021, 07:44:25 AM
By the way, the T20 world cup is near and everyone must be thinking the Match on 24 October, 2021 between India and Pakistan will be the most hype match as usual.

This time we will have another deadly encounter on Oct 26, 2021 , the match between New Zealand and Pakistan.

The revenge time is  near as now we have two rivalries.   Wink

Yeah.. incidentally both India and New Zealand are placed in the same group as Pakistan. The first match will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, while the second one will be hosted at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The ICC always place India and Pakistan in the same group, because they know that's what the fans as well as the TV broadcasters want. Now it is entirely another topic whether Pakistan will be able to axtract revenge against these two sides. They've been in top form, but India always have an advantage as far as the ICC tournaments are concerned.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 18, 2021, 05:30:29 AM
They should stop this habit of making Modi responsible for everything.

I wonder if one day they will say that all the babies born there , are buz of Modi  Shocked

Shifting the responsibility doesn't work. New Zealand cancelled the tour, because of the chances of a terror attack was high. Probably the CIA or some other foreign agency informed the New Zealand government about this. Otherwise, why should they pullout at the last minute? There should be some credible reason. And before blaming Mudi, Pakistan should analyze their own record. Their recent involvement in Afghanistan wasn't very noble. If the security situation doesn't improve, then I am afraid that more and more teams would refuse to tour Pakistan.
