2601  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex after 6 months shows no remorse nor guilt, Justin Sun? on: December 17, 2019, 09:47:10 PM
Circle have just gotten rid of their OTC service and it's been acquired by Kraken. I would've thought it was the only thing they've ever actually made money with.

https://blog.kraken.com/post/3355/kraken-otc-acquires-circle-trade/

Looks like good times are ahead. They're going to miss the boat doubly this time.
2602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright: "BTC is not Bitcoin" on: December 17, 2019, 07:17:37 PM
So, you did not hear it yet? ....He is shooting blanks my friend... it's as empty as the words that are cumming out of his mouth.  Wink

No. This is not possible. Somewhere in the world the 'bonded courier' has been in the lotus position for many, many years opening his eyes once a month to check the date. When the clock turns he leaves the temple and travels to the lair he was created in a laboratory to enter.
2603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many confirmations are equivalent* to 6 Bitcoin confirmations? on: December 17, 2019, 02:04:18 PM
And for those who read and discard this it's worth remembering that this may have a bearing on interacting with these coins on exchanges. Okex won't let anything you sold BSV for go until the BSV you deposited has 200 confirmations. Your quick flip will turn into a 2-3 day wait.
2604  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BEWARE of FAKE CASASCIUS COINS on: December 17, 2019, 01:50:43 PM
This was done to the Sol Noctis coins in 2016...  there were "replicas" made with a different date than the original coin.
I would still consider these "fakes"  and yes.. the intention is to deceive people... why else would you make them?

It's a con. It's not a dedicated counterfeit which is what people should be most vigilant about. As soon as one of those pops up and it's good enough that's going to have a major effect on the viability of real ones.

Stuff like this is sad and annoying but it can be shrugged off.
2605  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BEWARE of FAKE CASASCIUS COINS on: December 17, 2019, 01:30:23 PM
So 20 bucks worth of silver and no actual photos. That's a deal right there.

I still don't class this as a fake myself. It's a replica/rip off. It's not attempting to be a full on counterfeit/deception.
2606  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What would make you join a new community as well as here? on: December 17, 2019, 01:18:32 PM
focusing on money will lead to a degraded kind of community and the substance of the content is the key.

Anyone else's take on this would be really helpful.

The evidence is splattered all over here and of course cryptotalk.org. You'll get no shortage of people in with that approach, how could you not? But all they'll do is keep spurting shit all over each other without paying the slightest attention to what anyone else writes.

If you make money out of that and they make money out of that then so be it. Don't expect anyone else to join or anyone at all to stick around when the money runs out. And I'm doubtful any advertiser would consider spending money there when the entire demographic is nothing but broke spammers.

As for the original question, I hate Reddit but go there because it's much faster than here for news. Stuff attracts huge threads within minutes whereas here it may not be mentioned at all or take a week or two to pick up steam. Something that tapped into that would attract me.
2607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright: "BTC is not Bitcoin" on: December 17, 2019, 12:33:14 PM
In only a couple of weeks or so the 'bonded courier' arrives and hands the fat controller 1 MILLION bitcoinings. Then he wipe the smile off our faces with his powerfulosity. You will plead to him for respite but he will only laugh and slide Little Craig inside you and wiggle it around like a fishy and then he'll squirt his filthy semen, grunt and fall asleep on top of you.
2608  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What would make you join a new community as well as here? on: December 17, 2019, 11:58:44 AM
Fewer shitposts. Still a high amount of activity. Lack of the latter is guaranteed to turn me off. If I come across somewhere with a handful of posts in a few days I leave as it's going to be a boring and out of date read.

Somewhere that focuses on members making money is certain to be a worthless fuckhole. The money making aspect is a offshoot of this place, not the founding principle.
2609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do Women Want? More Educational Materials Before Investing in Bitcoin on: December 17, 2019, 11:53:00 AM
We clearly need more Bitcoin related info with pictures of kittens and shoes on it. That'll draw the lovely laydeez in.

Aside from that crypto has a content problem from the bottom to the top. Most of it is shit put together by morons either for empty clicks or to steal your money. It's probably only going to get worse as more arrive.

2610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying bitcoin using ewallets like Paypal safe? on: December 17, 2019, 11:47:07 AM
I've been reading on the risks of using Paypal to Sell BTC (payment reversals etc).

You can sell to Coinbase and they'll pay out in Paypal. That's about as legit as it gets but also the only viable option at all.

Anywhere that sells BTC for Paypal is either nuts or very brave and no matter what they'll make you pay for it.

2611  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken suspended my account and refunded the money on: December 17, 2019, 09:35:45 AM
Why am I looking for a someone else when I can do this on my own? I tried but failed since I'm doing this for my father and not for my self.

Why doesn't your father send the money to you so you can buy with your own account? Open it without any weird internet connection and you should be fine. I've never had any of the problems you report.
2612  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MESSAGE FROM GRAVITATE CASH OUT COINS NOW on: December 16, 2019, 12:00:33 PM
Tbh there are plenty of non-peeled coins out there. You could always try an auction with the starting price set to
the minimum you’re willing to accept  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Considering what many have discovered there'd be far too much doubt for me to ever consider attempting to sell coins that appear to be funded. I'd peel them and sell them afterwards. No possibility for a grind then.
2613  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Unofficial Quadriga Cx Thread on: December 16, 2019, 01:41:20 AM
If it does turn out to be him, at least his victims can berate his skeleton and toss it in the Tiber.

I cannae believe someone isn't taking bets on whether the body turns out to be real or not. You could win back the property of yours that he burnt if you guessed it right.
2614  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: So Richard Heart is a Bitcoin ponzi scammer too? on: December 16, 2019, 01:27:36 AM
Bitcoin.com's exchange has listed Hex - https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-com-exchange-lists-more-tokens-for-trading/

If I were Mr. Ver that's something I would have just a few wee doubts about but perhaps he's decided to go for broke and go full shit. Bitconnect and Onecoin up for a comeback next I guess.
2615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened after UK general election on: December 15, 2019, 01:50:14 AM
The pound got a reprieve as one form of uncertainty was dealt with. There's plenty of uncertainty to come.

I don't believe it has anything to do with BTC. I don't believe a strong stock market is affecting things either. For the entirety of BTC's existence it has only gotten stronger. The time to worry is when it takes a terminal-looking shit. No one's going to hang on to Bitcoin in those circumstances.
2616  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which of the following Exchanges have these Altcoins Trading Pairs/Wallets? on: December 14, 2019, 07:33:45 PM
That sort by liquidity link you provided lists HitBtc exchange as no.1 however I keep hearing HitBtc is a shady exchange with high fees. You sure that link is a good criteria to use to judge exchanges?

Does the coingecko link list exchanges that shows true volume of the exchanges not fake volume?

Hitbtc is a piece of shit that no one should be using. I'm not sure how the listing sites measure liquidity but I'll guess it's by adding up all the publicly available buys and sells which any exchange could easily fake.

The exchanges they're trying to drive out couldn't be bothered to provide fake order books. They'd run trillions in volume 1c above an order book $10 deep.

I really can't believe Hitbtc has a large amount of custom. Look at how many mentions Binance gets here. Hitbtc is hardly ever mentioned outside its own thread and the subject of that is mainly about what absolute pricks they are.
2617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 14, 2019, 06:39:38 PM
There's certainly a difference between phobia and avoidance or dislike.
When you're crying and begging for your life to not get your ass touched in an invasive way, it's certainly phobia.

Guess I'll have to go out and get fingered and see how I feel about it. Probably sad.

In a medical context I think I'd be just as appalled with an endoscope down my gullet as up the other end. I've found the medical trade unimpressive without fail so far. If I ever get something serious I will go full breatharian and recruit nubiles to chant over my groaning form.
2618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 14, 2019, 06:22:26 PM
I don't see why assphobia should be a phobia.

Is there something unnatural about not wishing to fiddle with a fetid orifice that has the sole purpose of squirting out chunks of dead and dying bacteria, fat, undigested food and dried blood?

If you find that erotic then more power to you. If I ever find Mr. Right we're going to have to restrict ourselves to bagpiping or Heavy Petting.
2619  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] Coinbase Fake Giveaway. Beware... on: December 14, 2019, 06:15:33 PM
Stupid people not only exists in crypto but they exists everywhere therefore we see these scammers keep on scamming. I still see people willing to double their fiat by depositing their money to the scammers. If the whole world would become intelligent there will be no space for such scams. People are lazy and want free money, and therefore they fell in these traps.

The difference crypto has is that magic aura of infinite gains that nothing else has. Also internet anonymity and irreversibility are a beautiful gift to the scammy.

We see the same here every day but it just doesn't seem to cross many a mind.

If a bloke walked up to you in the street with a bag on his head and asked for 500 dollars cash and promised 1000 tomorrow but left no way of contacting him would you do it? Almost no one would. Yet they do it in droves in cryptoland. I do not understand why.
2620  Economy / Economics / Re: Greeks face heavy fines if they don't spend 30% of their income electronically on: December 14, 2019, 06:11:40 PM
I am speechless to see these kind of restrictions and dictatorship kind of rules in the name of helping the nation to catch tax evaders is bullshit, happy that we are not facing these situation and hopefully we will not be forced to do everything digitally as the trend is coming that the government is forcing people to do all the transactions digitally while some of the fools thing that the government is doing it to help the decentralized market and after seeing all these comments i tend to crack up because of the naivety everyone has.

In this particular case it's a direct result of vast swathes of the population refusing to pay their due. If everyone else expects someone else to pay for the functioning of your society then you don't got much of a society any more. Also a lot of people there are paid in cash which is very unusual so the chances of never seeing the tax man are even higher.

But this is ignoring that Greece has the lowest internet uptake in the EU. Paying online can be a hopeless pain up the arse in the UK which is supposed to be well connected so this doesn't bode well. And I wonder how carefully thought through that 30% figure is.
