COLUMN: Moral of Vic Manuel contract saga? 'Wag magsalita ng tapos

Quote
CHICAGO - After six losing seasons where all his heavy lifting fell short of a PBA title he has always dreamed of, Vic Manuel must have felt like he had more luggage than an airport shuttle.

So on January 8, when no desirable contract landed on his lap after another trying year, he told this to Spin.ph.

"Kung ganoon na lang ang gagawin, aalis na lang ako sa kanila."

A day later, after meeting with head coach Jeff Cariaso, the bull-strong 6-foot-4, 231-pound Manuel upped the ante and insisted that "Ayoko ko na talagang maglaro sa Alaska."

Manuel was insisting he would get out of his present team but in the end he still sign with them.
Does it help his reputation or not,.. maybe because no team are interested with him that's why he was force to sign again with his team?
2622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible that NPXS will reach 1$? on: February 12, 2021, 10:38:58 AM
They are going to lower the supply than it will get more better chance to achieve such price goals otherwise with current circulating supply that is impossible to achieve the $235 billion market cap. I hope when that proposal will be implemented than it will get more high value than $1.

I don't think they will lower the supply, PundiX started with less than a billion of supply and then they increase the supply through swap, so it's not possible they will again go back to the old supply.

Manuel will stay with the Alaska Aces, sorry for those who are hoping he will transfer to another team.
Good to know that news for him that he'll stay. The big man of Alaska Aces will stay then. After all of those speculations that we've discussed that he's about to transfer to another team.
Well, it's still Alaska that has won the contract for him. I'll just be happy wherever he is and at least he got back to his home.

Alaska keep him as he is only their chance to at least compete with other teams which has improve their roster. I don't see a chance where Alaska will reach the playoffs again next season, but with Manuel, they can always play a competitive game.
Improved and experienced player. They can't just release but I think with all of our speculations about him that he really wanted to go to another him is what's going to make him happy. But in the end, it's about the talks and negotiations between him and his manager and with Alaska.
In all of this, Alaska still won him so good luck to the upcoming conference.

He was just frustrated at the beginning but he help his team realized that they should not let go of him. At least Manuel was vocal and honest, that helps the team to know that he is not anymore happy with the contract or term agreement, so for sure we will see a better Manuel this season to come.
2624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 11, 2021, 07:24:34 AM
Early pick.

Game : Denver Nuggets vs Cleveland Cavaliers.

Denver Nuggets badly need a win here, they are on a 3 losing streak and this is their chance to bounce back strong against a weaker team.
I'm expect Jokic here to again have a triple double and he will dominate in the game.

Therefore my pick is : Denver Nuggets -9.5... Good luck!

Well covered! Amazingly the Stars don't need to push hard.

Everyone are contributing and they really outscored the Cavs,  Drummond and Sexton both only have 4 points not very usual for this
two gunners though it's also same with Murray and Jokic didn't score that much but the 2nd stringers are doing so well, looking to see
more from those players to help lifting up the team.

Stadus was right, that was really a must win by the Nuggets and they have an easy win in this game. Nuggets displayed a full dominance over the Cavalier as they won every quarter. Jokic only had 12 points but end with double double and had a big contribution from his teammates.
2625  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I'm looking for a New Trading Site on: February 10, 2021, 10:53:11 PM
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll try Binance first and see how that goes.
Binance is the best choice and it is right. Even without using KYC you can still use Binance with a transaction limit of 2BTC. rather than having to use another exchange that is not necessarily good in credibility. Binance also has security and stable servers when people have a lot of access to Binance. for deposits and withdrawals there is never a problem.
Reputation and market liquidity are very important to consider when choosing an exchanger and OP makes his wise selection to choose Binance.

Well, good luck to you OP, I'm sure you don't have to regrets your decision. And please get back here to hear also what is your experience if you still have time because I was now thinking that you are already enjoying trading by using the platform. I hope I was right.
2626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money from Bitcoin in 2021 on: February 10, 2021, 10:30:49 PM
Most people who are new to BTC or find a way to accumulate BTC this might help you out; few ways to make money from BTC:

*Daily trading
*BTC mining
*Investing
*Selling your items in exchange for BTC; i.e(receiving BTC as payment for work or items sold)
*Yield farming (De-fi)
*Airdrops (this helps allot but be aware of fake ones too before participating)

*BTC surveys
I don't want to encourage newbies or anyone new to crypto to do mining or trading because of its high risk and needs a huge amount, especially for mining. And not only that, this is not the best way to accumulate Bitcoin which I can only suggest is to make an investment only.
And talking about airdrops, there is no such thing. This usually happens to altcoins, worthless altcoins.

After all the speculation, here's what happen.

Vic Manuel close to sealing a deal with Alaska on contract extension

Quote
IS it a case of case of all's well that ends well between Alaska and its wantaway star.

That appears to be the case as the latest information reaching SPIN.ph is that Vic Manuel is close to reaching an agreement with the Uytengsu organization on a new deal, just weeks after a messy contract dispute was made public.

The info was confirmed by veteran players' agent Danny Espiritu, who bared that there's a strong chance that the 6-foot-4 bruiser will stay put with the Aces after all if the two sides can agree on a few more fine prints in a new deal.

"We're working on a new deal that will keep Vic at Alaska, which I feel is 'yun naman ang gusto ng mga fans," Espiritu told SPIN.ph without divulging terms of the agreement being drafted for Alaska's premier scoring threat.

Manuel will stay with the Alaska Aces, sorry for those who are hoping he will transfer to another team.
2628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I BET 5 BTC ON THE COIN FLIP - SUPERBOWL on: February 10, 2021, 06:52:28 AM
That's not fun mate, 5 btc for a coin filp, that shows you are a gambler without looking for an advantage to win. coin flip gives a 50/50 chances of winning. Well, I love to know the result, did you win that bet or not? please don't tell me you lose. Grin
2629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will the Ethereum Gas Fee go down? on: February 09, 2021, 02:36:48 PM
Only one thing I think by reading this, ETH is not for small time traders and investors anymore considering how high the gas fees are now. But tbh, I dont think theres much change with this. The trading volume of ETH is still doing good and I think thats because of DeFi's and ETH 2.0.
Yes, but I also believe that the problem of high fees on the ETH platform will also experience changes for the better in the future, because I see transaction fees on the ETH platform are never permanent.
Of course, not. But what we have now is really high and it not good for small investors, they are supposed to save fees but they have no choice.

We wanted the crypto market to have a better future but if that only cause fee goes high, I preferred not to see it anymore, much better to stay where we are in the past in which the fees are so small and acceptable to everyone. I'm afraid that it even grow higher as the market continues to increase, which only a few people could take the fees.
2630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the power of HOLD and believe on: February 09, 2021, 01:49:34 PM
Damn, I did panic sell in 2018 and I wish I never did that. Anyways time is passed and I can not recuperate my loss it's better to begin again from zero. You're correct those who purchase the bitcoin in 2018 and hold it tight they're currently rich and making the most of their benefit. I think it's the incredible illustration of those bitcoin clients who don't care to stand by I realize I am one of them however I learn from my lesson how bitcoins blase you with profit if you hold tight on your investment and never do the panic sell.

You didn't know what really happens this year or even last year. You sell your Bitcoin last 2018 because you might in need of money (common reason) or that you think hard dumps will come. But if you are thinking positive and if you have other sources of income that could help you to survive, maybe until now you still holding it.

I know we do for a reason and that we don't need to blame ourselves nor to blame others. There is no perfect time in crypto, all it comes as a big surprise.
Anyway, you are still in the crypto community, you can start over again someday, have patience mate.
2631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 09, 2021, 11:24:49 AM
Good comeback by the Lakers who were down 11points at a point in the 4th qtr. LBJ with 28 points and Harrell taking advantage of OKC not having a strong center and got 21 points. Lebron got his triple double with 28points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.

We have seen an awesome game really. Lakers were 56-60 behind at halftime. 3rd quarter was also so close. In the last quarter, Lakers dominated it and had their the most points of all quarters, 34. They succeeded in defeating Thunder after overtime with a 119-112 result. I liked watching Lebron the most in this game. Lakers maintain their incredible performance. They were the victor in the last 5 games.

Mostly Lebron will choked, but this time he did not, good job for him as he again carry this team. Lakers missed Davis because everything is easy with him, Gasol seems not so productive as a center but good thing they have Montrezl Harrell whoa re contributing to this team as usual.
2632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Government Rules Mean No More Gambling Sponsorship on: February 09, 2021, 11:00:32 AM
It's a good idea If it's a sponsorship by companies that encourage Gambling (or unsafe/irresponsible betting).
Responsible/safe betting companies/business could be accepted.
There's no if in this thing, the fact that a gambling site or companies sponsored an event, that means they want to advertise their business and they want to gain more gamblers to play with them.

By the way, I wonder what companies/businesses they wish to start accepting. If they choose very safe companies/businesses, I think the betting companies could greatly improve their standards in order to qualify, by making sure they provide  very useful and safe products/services to their betting customers.
Most probably the sports wear like a shoe company, and others. It's not necessary that they will survive because of gambling business sponsorship.
2633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon fuels BTC rise 17% DOGE gose 8× on: February 08, 2021, 09:08:02 AM
I think Elon is starting to enjoy the attention he’s getting from pumping various cryptocurrencies. I think he’s starting to enjoy having his ego inflated with the power of having a very public presence. I don’t even know if he cares about crypto & at this point I think he’s potentially trolling. Not impressed tbh!
I am also not impressed with him but today I was looking for few things and have this address which already hold 36 Billion dogecoins some saying its belong to Elon I am feeling he is doing this all for his own. https://blockchair.com/dogecoin/address/DH5yaieqoZN36fDVciNyRueRGvGLR3mr7L

We still can't say if the billion dogecoin belongs to Elon or not, as he is not admitting anything on public whether he is a bag holder or what we have been suspecting all along, he is just trolling us with his tweet about doge.

And then FOMO sets in, as for if he cares about crypto argument, the guy has so many plates in his table and I doubt that crypto will be his concern at this point.
It sounds like he realizes that crypto investment makes better results.

He is promoting crypto now and that he loves wearing it below his name on his Twitter account. He does the hypes, we are also benefiting from it but for sure, he also benefits more than what we got. I suspected him like a bag holder, not only for Doge but also Bitcoin, I think. I may say that he finally understands how crypto works and who will benefit from them.
2634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: February 08, 2021, 08:36:57 AM
If it ever hits at that point, I just want to be sure that I am hodling a lot of bitcoin in my wallet so I can fully enjoy when that moment happens. But that is just a pipe dream, that amount wouldn't hit unless something so big that I can't imagine yet will happen like the supply of bitcoin is steadily declining and the rate of bitcoin pouring back in to refill the supply is not enough or a lot of bitcoin was lost which contributes far more to its rarity.
Then you have to start buying Bitcoin now while the price is still low. But never mind thinking about $1mil, pretty far from its reality. We may buy more Bitcoins or altcoins not for this sake that Bitcoin reaches such highs, $50k, $100k is something near to that. Well, I'm not giving up on this.

Anyway, if that $1mil will come, I definitely have to sell my Bitcoins and convert them to fiat money. I'm going to invest my money in the local stock market which is less risky than crypto.
2635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather vs Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) on: February 05, 2021, 02:45:32 PM
I love watching 50 cent's movie but fighting against the best in the sports of boxing, I doubt he would last here, unless they'll stage this one like a movie that is scripted. Well, good luck, I hope this will not again be the same with Mayweather's previous fight that did not gain a lot of attention.
Why this?
Why not Manny Pacquiao? I thought he called out Manny already.
he does movies too ? 50 cent is showing that he is a multi talented person .
not a  fan of him or fan of boxing but after knowing that a rapper are going for a match between the well known boxer makes me interested and excited to watch this imediately .
this match of mayweather against 50 cent wont be boring as his previous match .
mayweather has a good match to manny pacquiao because both are great boxers , they have completed a match before and there are rumors for having a another rematch

He has a lot of movies just search in google using "50 cent's movies" and you'll see the list of movies he is part of.

My personal favorite was the DEN of THIEVES, its a great movie, 50 cent died in the end, but it doesn't matter, his acting is good.  Grin

In this fight, I believe he will become a best actor.  Grin
2636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BINANCE will delist these 4 coins! Check it out! on: February 05, 2021, 02:01:43 PM
They are cleaning their exchange, this project probably does not attract investors and traders already, so this opens for new projects to get listed and other existing coins to gain volume from traders of such coins delisted.

CyberMiles 24 hours volume - $2,014,615, biggest volume Binance
Blockmason Credit Protocol /24 hours volume - $1,004,635, biggest volume Binance
Time New Bank/24 hours volume $1,418,898 -  biggest volume Binance
VIBE/24 hours trading volume, $838,168 - biggest volume Binance.

As we can see, their biggest trading volume are coming from Binance, so this project will surely struggle after it get delisted in Binance.

2637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 05, 2021, 01:42:40 PM
I thought the injury was serious.

Joel Embiid Nasty Knee Injury After Collision With Enes Kanter

Good thing he was able to come back and play, unfortunately they loss by a huge margin against the Lillard less Portland TrailBlazers.

What a disappointment.

That was really unexpected when he hurt his knee but as you said thankfully he gets back to the game. The Big Dude was giving all his best because he might likely get that MVP award if he could continue doing such excellent skills. after he gets back to the court, he already scored 30+ but still didn't get enough in the second half to beat the Portland Trailblazers. I think he should give it a rest because getting such kind of opportunity is rare. There are lots of good players in the NBA but only a few got their names listed on the MVP award race.

Giving him a rest is a nice decision, they are already at the number 1 now, they are not chasing for a spot. The fact that he played after that bad landing, that means injury was not serious or there has been no injury that happened. Embiid should be healthy this season, this is their best chance as they are playing well under the new coach.
2638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Report ETH for SCAM because $80 fees on: February 05, 2021, 12:31:37 PM
I don't experience that huge fees, but regardless that's not a valid point for a scam accusation as you were warned before you make the transaction. I use MEW for my transaction, the fees are calculated before I send, so once I send, it means I agree with the fee and the fee was like $5 and lower, nothing close to $80.
2639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects and their unreal excuses on: February 05, 2021, 12:14:17 PM
Covid is only used as an excuse by projects that intend to commit fraud, as you said if they really want to create a successful project they can hold meetings using many applications such as zoom or discord

The thing is, they will use every possible excuse just to hide their scams.

In the first place, they know already their plan, they will run a project to scam people, its just a matter of when are they going to formally go scam.

Covid-19 should not be an excuse because some projects are also successful and we should also consider that we have a bull run during the pandemic, so covid-19 was not really the problem as investors are coming here.
2640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple the next bitcoin? on: February 05, 2021, 11:42:17 AM
I find it very strange because people who really believe in the cryptocurrency market still manage to support XRP. Everyone should have their own opinion, but I do not support the XRP project.
XRP has got potentials the way i see it and is a good investing opportunity but then, its far from being the next bitcoin. I would have considered Ethereum but then, non of the cryptocurrencies would attain the growth bitcoin has attained so far. So, having eyes on bitcoin growth as at now and views on XRP would be an exaggerated fact for these currencies and would be extremely difficult to contend with in the long run. A few weeks of growth is far less for a long term investment analysis.

With the recent problem they are facing, I don't see the potential anymore, they are now battling the SEC and usually the chance of winning is very low so its investors will definitely get affected with this trial they are facing. Good luck to them, hopefully they'll be able to surpass this big problem as it could kill their project and many will regret investing in ripple.
