2641  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Painting "BitcoinBird" on: June 15, 2022, 06:02:07 PM
wasn't asking for proof of the work - was simply pointing out you called it a painting and this is quite a bit more than a painting.

Artwork  Wink

Mopar was pointing out that your thread title is incorrect, what you
are auctioning is not a "Painting". You can call it Embroidery, Beadwork,
Mixed Media and/or Artwork. For example:

[AUCTION] Mixed Media Embroidery Artwork - "BitcoinBird"

The piece is very interesting and looks very nice, well executed and  I
figure quite time consuming. Best of luck with the auction.
2642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "It's Better to Sell Bitcoin Now and Rebuy Lower" Twitted by Peter Schiff on: June 15, 2022, 12:18:54 PM
Yea it May be the bottom
It May go lower
It May go sideways for weeks

Anyone can come up with comments like those.

I would do the opposite to what Schiff says, Buy now and if the market falls further buy
more!
2643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peter Schiff Advices Don't Buy the Dip on: June 15, 2022, 06:25:06 AM
Peter Schiff's advice might end up to be the thing that would turn the tide. There was a funny pattern being detected on a social media platform that every time Peter Schiff talks about Bitcoin, or more particularly trolls or criticizes about it, the more the price rises. Of course this is just some funny thing they play with against the old man.

Kidding aside, who would not be buying Bitcoin at this cheap a price? An opportunity as golden as this doesn't come knocking on our door too often. Let's grab it!

I dont know about that trend of price rise correlating to Peter Schiff's "advice" but he
isnt going to influence Bitcoiners or anyone else who has been sitting on the sidelines
waiting for such a price opportunity.

When the price was $60k + a lot of people were thinking I should have got into Bitcoin
when it was $20k or I should have bought more.

and when we hit $60k again I'll bet there will be people cursing themselves for
following Schiff's "advice".
2644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 14, 2022, 08:33:01 PM
At Queen's Club Championships the match between Ruud and Peniston has just ended, with a clear defeat in two sets for Ruud (tie break both sets).
Bad performance for the Norwegian (seed player number 1!) , absolutely not at ease on this surface (he slipped a couple of times and missed sensational shots).
Definitely a long way from the form condition shown at Roland Garros Roll Eyes
Peniston could be the "Van Rijthoven" of this tournament? Smiley

Its definitely worth watching him, he plays Cerúndolo on Thursday and he is classed as
a clay court player or at least he favours clay so there could be an opportunity there!

I know there is talk about the British lads doing well but Evans is already out, losing to
Berrettini who is growing and growing into the grass court season, definitely one to watch
along with Cilic who plays Bublik tomorrow.

Draper plays Ruusuvuori tomorrow, the commentators on Amazon Prime recon it will be
a very close match there as Ruusuvuori is kind of under rated.
2645  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Loading a DIY Collectible on: June 14, 2022, 12:17:38 PM
@krogothmanhattan @MoparMiningLLC thanks for the tips, I'm planning on picking up
a cheap used laptop and I will be able to delve into its guts and remove the wifi card.

@wheelz1200 I have some coins which are DIY loadable and have holograms which can
be applied. The only end game is to load them as they were intended with some Satoshi's.

@Todamont I dont have any such hardware so I cant say I'll be using that. The actual process
seems quite simple, the address and private key will be stored on the coin with a tamper
proof hologram.

I get it that scans can be made and do happen but the excersize of creating the address
and keys is what intrigues me, I wont be loading any coin with substantial amounts of Bitcoin.

2647  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Tulip Mania 2.0 on: June 14, 2022, 06:34:42 AM
Ah here go again with the Tulip comparison, I wonder how many times this has been brought
up in the past already? and yea always when rhere is a big price "correction".

At what point along this fictitious journey back to $1000 will there be MASSIVE buy pressure?
At what point will more people realise its an unbelievable opportunity to avail of the SUPER
KNOCK DOWN CLEARANCE SALE price for Bitcoin and sell everything to buy Bitcoin?

Now perhaps?
2648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super|6s|7s|Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics Touch..... on: June 13, 2022, 10:14:44 PM
You are going well this round Timelord, its looking like a clean sweep this round for you.

The Warriors v Sharks game has just started and I'm just after picking up the Sharks at 1.2!
and yea the Eels should do the business against last place Bulldogs.

*2nd edit*

W
T
F

??

In the case of the Eels, its funny how they are in the top 5 having lost some games which
they really should have won.

They've done it again - I don't even know what was on offer for the Bulldogs.  I wasn't paying attention.

Still Seven from eight is my best round to date!

W the actual F is wrong with the picture above? not even close scoring, was there only 2
Eels players on the field? thats abnormal, I wont be betting on them any more this season
waaaaay too risky.

Round 9 they beat the ladder no.1 the Panthers the following week the are beaten
by the Roosters, its a real mixed bag of a season. Every team here on in should be looking
at the Eels and figuring they can be beaten.
2649  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 12 Banknotes "Moor's head" By ArtiKando & 4 ORIGINAL PROOFS on: June 13, 2022, 10:04:32 PM
Lot Y - 0.002

Really interesting to see these being offered, I first saw ArtiKando's work from this
thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5395188.msg59904848#msg59904848

....:::snip:::....

Making a work unique has always been my goal. So I made these "banknotes" in a limited series (strictly by hand), subsequently printed on a 90 gr paper individually, 21 banknotes (only 21) symbolically as the 21 million of bitcoin, each banknote has an "hr" indicated by a code that identifies the precise position of the manufacturing "defect".
The technique used is BIC pen, yes, just a pen and fantasy!
They will then be individually numbered by hand, with an embossed stamp (unique identifier code of the banknote).
It contains numerous details, for example, the morse code indicated on the back of the banknote and the hash of a pleasant bitcoin transaction (it's up to you to find out). I also tried to "create" a fake watermark using only the colours and overlays to make it a particular note.
The project was born for fun, a challenge that I wanted to launch to try new drawing techniques, and for love I feel for bitcoins!
I think the character represented is known to most people, made as a Moor's head (Sicilian) because the idea was born in this wonderful place that is Sicily. Many will turn up their noses, but this is also a peculiarity that distinguishes the work.

....:::snip:::....

@bitbollo - are you auctioning these on behalf of Artikando?
2650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act to defend privacy or resign ourselves to its loss? on: June 13, 2022, 05:21:52 PM
Some great points made by many on the thread. My take is similar to others. ATM privacy
is becoming more and more inconvenient, divulging personal information makes it
easier to conform.

I personally am becoming more and more conscious of my privacy, that I have learned
from this forum. I have started removing profiles from various sites, forums and exchanges,
back tracking.

Regards Bitcoin we have to fight to hold on to what privacy we still have by trading
peer-to-peer and using trusted escrow's for example.

Even if we have gone through KYC/AML policies we xan abandon the services which
they are attached to and opt for the alternatives above
2651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 13, 2022, 06:23:59 AM
There is an interesting game for me tomorrow on halle tournament rublev will be facing basilashvili on a grass court despite rublev being the heavy favourite i expect the game to be really competitive because we have seen basillashvili performing really good against kyrgios in their last game and he even won a set against him in grass i think he can win a set against rublev or at least a bet on a handicap may be a good idea.

IDK, In my mind Basilashvili has gone off the boil a little although I havent seen him on
grass yet. I checked on this site their prediction and they favour Basilashvili in 3 so yea
it could be a bet worth considering...

https://lastwordonsports.com/tennis/2022/06/12/atp-halle-day-1-predictions-rublev-basilashvili/

I really like to see this kind of tournaments, when a unknow made a beatifull tournament and in this case also be the champion. And against the next top 1 of the world.

This kind of magic doesnt see to much in the too much profesional era.

Luckily I didnt have a bet on this final, I was looking at Medvedev but the odds were poor
and I didnt bother with the handicap, I'm sure a lot of people lost out.

Its a dream win by van Rijthoven at his home event, this doesnt happen too much in the
ATP but happens regularly in the WTA and as recently as last US Open when Emma Raducanu,
a qualifier won the tournament!
2652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 12, 2022, 04:06:51 PM
[

Just looked at the odds there on Rollbit, Murray 1.90 - 1.91 Berrettini. -3.5 @ 3.8 looks
very appealing on Andy but that means at least 1 tie break in a 2 set match or 3 tie breaks.

it is starting in few minutes, I will wait for a few gems, and try to put Murray to win above @2, if there is a chance, and he looks solid
Medevedev is also starting at the moment, and there I am playing handicap on Rijthoven, should be a Medevedev win, but hardly with two breaks and better than 6:3, 6:3, he is playing next week as well

So Berrettini wins in 3 sets against Murray, well done to him especially coming back
from surgery and he will be pumped going into Queens.

Murray can be proud of himself though to get to a final after all he has been through
and the fight he has to get back competing in finals.

The shock of the day has to go to Medvedev being beaten in sHertogenbosch by a van Rijthoven
the qualifier, 6-4, 6-1 <--- that is some scoreboard against the world #2 1 soon to be.

Well done casperBGD on your handicap bet!

...and Mopar its a brilliant service you all provide for us here in the collectibles board.

I cannot see where MrMojoRising26 said it arrived at the last centre empty, It still looks
like nothing can be ruled out. Fair enough he trusts the distributor, I just asked the
question is it a single person like yourself or minerj or Mitchell or is there potentially
any number of people who could be involved, reading back through the thread OgNasty made
the same point.

It will be interesting to find out (if ever) what happened
2654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gathered every Satoshi Nakamoto thread. on: June 12, 2022, 09:19:11 AM
How the hell did I not notice this thread?
Oh right, I virtually have Bitcoin Discussion on ignore.

This compilation is a data mine for people (like me for example) who are trying to aggregate all the posts related to Satoshi together. But how did you manage to collect all these threads without any automation? Going from page 1 to the last one and reading topic titles?

Almost to the day I can ask the same question, How did I not see this before?

Since this was published I have seen new Satoshi threads and commented in them too.

Two things come to mind:

1.) From when the thread was launched there shouldnt be a need to create any more Satoshi
themed threads, EVERYTHING has already been asked, commented upon and answered.

2.) This thread should be pinned

3.) Well done BlackHatCoiner! Three full posts of Satoshi threads.

I think the +4.5 is a safe bet for Murray, but the odds are not that very attractive. But if it's a sure win, then why not?
Hope some of you cashed in on that my prediction. Handicap passed super easy and even ML was not really in doubt at any point. I love beginnings of grass season, so many opportunities to play against people not used to that surface.

There will be shitload of players who don't know how to stand on grass in Wimbledon qualification and first rounds. Gotta hone my skills before that.

Yeah, that was a good tip mate, love how Andy manages this game against Tsitsipas.

Nick might be different though, I think this is going to be another close one. I will take Murray +1.5, maybe he could steal 1 set but eventually Nick might be too much for him.

Berrettini winning the first set against Otte 7-6, and it's on the second set, 5-5 Mateo serving with 40-15 lead.

No I didnt take it Trofo, the odds were 1.25, I went with Medvedev @ 1.20. I did however
do ML on Andy against Kyrgios @ 2.21 thinking Andy has the firepower to trouble anyone
and if things start going wrong for Nick its game over for him.

I am accepting your argument that he has difficulty recovering between matches but not your conclusion. Grand Slams are special in a way that you get a day of rest in between matches. Shouldn't that work marvelously for him?

The day off between matches will work in his favour, but the fact that slams are best of five sets will work against him.
I'd suggest that if he wins a dramatic and lengthy five-set match against a tough seed on say a Wednesday, the chances of him being fully recovered and ready to repeat again in the next round by the Friday are very low. And the chances of him winning seven best-of-five-set matches in two weeks, which is what it takes to win a slam, is extremely low. IMHO the only way he could win Wimbledon is if every match is easy and he wins them all quickly... but this doesn't seem that likely. There are some tough grass players out there, and it's difficult to break serve on grass, which can make matches longer.

I should add that I'm from the UK, and desperately want Murray to win... but can't see it happening.
You got a point there but it doesn't make me change my strategy of forcing him at this moment. We have a privilege of seeing how his previous matches went before betting on next one. If he has two 5 setters in a row I am skipping him for next match 100%.

I still think that one day of rest means more than possibility of 5 sets. Especially if he manages to keep matches short.

Then I think we pretty much agree. A fresh Murray on grass and in current form is likely to win against most players... but the longer he goes and the longer and tougher the matches get, the more of a challenge he has to recover.
I suppose the big question for betting is what happens if he wins Stuttgart? Presumably the odds on him winning a match at Wimbledon will become less favourable. And this might be the case already, just with him beating Tsitsipas and reaching the final.

Good point Cnut237, while we all like our favourite players winning it doesnt help with the
odds going forward.

The match against Berrettini today is massive for both but more so for Murray IMO, a win
today will be confirmation that he can still compete, continue playing and sets new
targets.

Just looked at the odds there on Rollbit, Murray 1.90 - 1.91 Berrettini. -3.5 @ 3.8 looks
very appealing on Andy but that means at least 1 tie break in a 2 set match or 3 tie breaks.
2657  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WATCH OUT FOR MY STOLEN COINS PLEASE on: June 12, 2022, 07:22:19 AM
Sorry to hear this, its a right kick in the pants.

My brain cannot work out the bit about the "Distributor", obviously this a third party who takes
physical possession of the goods to ship to others so I have a few questions?

Why use a distributor and not handle the postage yourself?

Is the distributor a single person or is it an organisation?

Did you have possession of the coins then sent them to the distributor or were they sent
from the mint?

My thinking is similar to others, I'm not sure if the package was insured and tracked that a
USPS worker could jeopardize their position by doing something like this.

Anyway besides ebay there are many other places these could turn up, facebook marketplace,
etsy, craigslist for example. I will keep an eye out too but I dont know what series 1 look like and
as Steeley points out what does the reverse side look like?

All the best I hope you get to the bottom of this

I have bets on the Cowboys, Panthers and Broncos this round, I better start picking
all winners without losses for a while to boost my wallet!!

I am actually 4 from 4 this round, I made some last minute bets on the Rabbitohs and Storm,
all conservative $1 bets but all in the Green which is what I badly needed. I was fearful of the
Raiders upsetting the party but well done to the Broncos.

Rugby Union

Semi Final weekend in the United Rugby Championship this weekend and the 2 top
teams from the pre-finals table are playing at home and I have both backed to win,
both with 0.1mBTC, Leinster @1.11 and the DHL Stormers @1.68. Their game against
Ulster may be a close one but at home the Stormers will be hard to beat especially at
this stage of the competition. As for Leinster, well they will be hurting after losing the final
of the Champions Cup and are desperate for some silverware.

So the final pairing has been decided in the URC, an all South African affair after the
Bulls beat home side Leinster by 1 point and the Stormers saw off Ulster.

Leinster managed to score 4 tries to 2 against the Bulls but were chasing the game even
from half time where it was 14-17. So defending champions and heavy favourites
are out.

In the other semi, Ulster were hard done by after leading the low scoring game 12-15
until in overtime85th minutethe Stormers scored a try and conversion to win.

...periodically I replace the drive -
...the old drive is drilled and ran thru a metal shredder
...remaining pieces placed in a furnace.

I print them on Revla paper as well.

Thank you also for the info, I could probably give a HD a fairly tough time
too with a drillpress, lump hammer and blow torch, the metal shredder for
sure is a hard-core job !!

Interesting on the Revla paper, I think that is the same as Tyvek paper
which I am familiar with.

So I have to create an airgapped system which I will look into, and I might
have some more questions further along in my learning.

2660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 10, 2022, 12:12:41 PM
Tsitsipas tomorrow will play against Murray. For sure it's a good match to follow we will see good tennis.
I think that Murray could be easily defeated by the greek player...but generally speaking I think this is the kind of match that could provide some surprise and hard to be guessed. (maybe it will be decided in 3 sets?)
What is your opinion for that match?

Tsitsipas is the big favorite to win it, but maybe Murray can indeed take away one set. We will never see the old Murray again, his movements on the court are limited to his injuries, but it is still quite early in the tournament, so I can see Murray winning 1 set.

I think Murray has a chance. No doubt he would have seen Rune despatch Tsitsipas at
Roland Garros and fancy his chances. On the other hand though Tsitsipas will have
learned a lot from that game and will for sure be wary of Murray's abilities eventhough
he has lesser speed and agility he still posses his shot making skills. Should be interesting.
Tsitsipas is not really that good on grass while Murray was one of the best in his prime. I wouldn't be surprised even of Murray wins this match. My bet is on Murray +4.5 for that added bit of security. Now I just hope he will serve first  Grin

Should be nice match to watch and I plan on doing just that. These are two players that will get us many betting opportunities in grass season so always good to actually see them play.

Yes, Tsitsipas is more of a clay court specialist that's why in the first half of the year, he really plays very good. So it might be good to bet on the handicap for Murray here. Maybe he will still have some in his gas tank to surprised us all if he pull a upset.

The odd for Andy ML is 2.22, very attractive for those who love to bet on the underdog.

Fucsovics vs Krygios could also be a entertaining match. I'm taking Nick -2.5 handicap.

And thats something I rarely do, is bet on the underdog. Going on Murray with a +4.5
is 1.25 odds as per Trofo. I have enough in my wallet to have one more bet before I
load it up again so I'm going with Medvedev to beat Ivashka @ 1.2, I think/hope
thats safer.

I would love to see Murray beating Tsitsipas, he deserves it and deserves to get into
the finals of this and other tournaments.
