Theoretically the way I look at it is that Nadal and Djokovic have pretty much developed their
game to the max whereas the younger generation and in particular Alcaraz are still developing.

I would like to think that Alcaraz in 2023 will be much better than 2022 and should pose more
of a threat to everyone including Djokovic.
1683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: December 26, 2022, 07:43:13 AM
I did, I had the Lions to win but of course that didn't happen.

My second bet didn't workout either, Glasgow the favourites held on 16-10 to beat
Edinburgh too.

Today will be Munster v Leinster, I really can't see Munster win, Leinster are unbeaten so far
in both The URC and Heineken Cup.

On a slightly positive note, Benetton whipped Zebre 38-5 so at least 1 bet has materialised.

For me I think Nadal performed better in the earlier part of the season this year than
at the end of season. These results were all from the first 6 months:

Winning 2 grand slams, Australia and France
Winning, Melbourne and Mexico
Beaten in the final of Indian Wells
Beaten in the quarter final at Madrid

After his semi final loss at Wimbledon in July he didn't reach those highs again!

I strongly believe he will be better early on in the season!

1692  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has your budget for gambling been affected by the festive season? on: December 23, 2022, 08:55:55 PM
No my budget is not affected. I don't over extend myself with gambling, that said I wouldn't
be a high stakes kind of gambler, it's more for entertainment rather than trying to
make massive gains.

I can imagine during this season when there could be financial pressures on people that
a gambling budget could get chopped but then there are the cases of addiction and if something
else would have to be compromised instead of gambling.

Timelord I'm using Rollbit for the United Rugby Championship!

My first pick didn't materialise:

Sharks 37 - 10 Lions

Friday 23rd
South Africa - Lions 5th to beat the Sharks 10th

My 4 remaining bets are:

Edinburgh @ 2.4
Benetton @ 1.15
Cardiff @ 1.52
Leinster @ 1.51

I'm a bit worried for my Edinburgh bet, I thought they would be favourites even
away from home. There is definitely value in them.....if they win!
1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 23, 2022, 04:13:22 PM
I think Nadal will still be a major threat in the early part of the season when he is fresh and
fit. His skills, experience and his mentality will be able to compensate a bit for his fitness.

His main threat over a 5 set match is going to be the top experienced guys, Djokovic obviously,
Zverev and Medvedev and Alcaraz I suppose.

Obviously, Rafael Nadal is not expected to be eliminated early on. He is still a very capable player. People are saying that he is not eligible to win the title. Despite that, he is not bad enough to be eliminated from the tournament in the first round.

I think the five-set matches are going to be a treat for him alone because I don’t think he still has that type of stamina right now. As he gets older, it is also likely that his stamina will decrease as well. My opinion is that he is not winning. But he should be able to go far in this tournament.

I would think the opposite, I think a 5 set match suits him better because of his other strengths,
Skill and mentality or mental strength.

In a three set match if a player gets the better of you in the first two sets, it's over. In a five setter
you can go behind in the first two sets and still win the match.

I have seen some younger players with less experience go ahead in grand slams but don't have
the mental strength to finish the match

Hi everyone,

I will be closing the raffle tomorrow at 13:00 CET and shortly after that will pick a
block number and the last two digits of the hash of that or following blocks will determine
the winning ticket.

Also with the remaining unclaimed tickets I will allocate them or part of them to the
members who have already claimed one.

I have also updated the OP to include:

a random copy of the Bitcoin Colouring Book

and some of the limited edition BCB stickers.

1696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 22, 2022, 11:51:12 PM
Everyone will have a reason and a time when they want and/or need to sell Bitcoin.

The reasons could be either a price point or a necessity or an emergency.

If no-one is selling, others cannot buy. Selling and buying Bitcoin is part of the ecosystem
and there will always be opportunities to buy back what you sold.

Rugby Union

A bit of news from Women's Rugby....

Quote
NEW WOMEN'S CELTIC CHALLENGE COMPETITION TO START IN JANUARY

A Pilot Celtic Challenge Competition is due to begin on January 29th and sees the IRFU, WRU
and Scottish Rugby coming together to create a new competition with support from World Rugby.

https://www.hersport.ie/rugby/new-womens-celtic-challenge-competition-to-start-in-january-44791

This is interesting because while the men's game here has multiple competitions in
a season, United Rugby Competition, Challenge Cup, Heineken Cup and then the
Six Nations, the Women's game really only has the Six Nations. This move should
help promote the women's game. I wonder will there be betting available?

1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 21, 2022, 01:04:39 PM
~snip~
Yes 2026 tournament will be a great tournament, because many of the teams that did not play for the year edition will play in the 2026 version. But this one you mentioned China, I have not seen china played in a world not even in the qualification stage including India. These two countries are always excepted. I think because of their inability to quantify at the qualification level that making then not to appear in the world cup tournaments.

Yeah, one thing some people forget is that the world cup is an incredibly competitive tournament.

Even Italy failed to qualify for Qatar 2022.

So it's not really the case that FIFA doesn't like certain countries, or things like that, it's actually that Europe and South America consistently produce the best teams for the competition, and therefore end up winning the most trophies.

If anything, I could argue that Europe and South America should have even more slots than what they have at the moment, as many talented countries from there couldn't qualify.

You forgot to mention that Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup for the second time in a row, which is clearly not a coincidence but an indicator of the crisis of Italian national football.
As for the rest, the European and South American national teams are still better than the national teams from other continents and achieve better and better results at the world championships, but this difference is getting smaller and smaller at each world championship, and the Asian and African national teams achieve better and better results at each the next world championship.
It is no coincidence that South Korea was fourth at the 2002 World Cup and Morocco fourth at this World Cup.
And in the future, there will be even more successes like this of Asian and African national teams.

Yes the continents of Europe and South America traditionally produce the strongest
teams, it was great to see Morocco reach the semi finals and maybe they will achieve
the same or better at the next one.

How did everyone's betting go during the competition and especially for the Final?

Sadly for my own wallet I had France to win.
1699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very thankful for what bitcoin has done for me. on: December 21, 2022, 07:25:30 AM

Long story short I am able to work remotley and live anywhere and be happy with what I have because I know without bitcoin I would never have this life. Thank you satoshi Smiley

What did bitcoin really do for you or what do you do with bitcoin. Really how is this happening to you? Did you buy 1,000 btc 10 years back and you hodl it long time until the price is $64k last year haha or you trade on bitcoin. Your account is new to profit in campaign posting, so how is the benefit you talk about bitcoin for you .

Bitcoin with the help of the community can help people understand more about personal
finance it helps educate people about the FIAT financial system and how it creates an alternative.

It's up to everyone how much and to what extent they want to embrace Bitcoin.

Personally Bitcoin has taught me how to understand my points above and the long
term goal of being financially independent and escaping as much as possible the
FIAT system.

It's up to everyone to make the most of it for themselves.
