My bet on Rublev did not age that well Grin

Đoković really looks dominant, he secured the semis already.
Tsitsipas won the 3rd set TB against Medvedev and will fight it out with Rublev for the 2nd spot in the group.

My favorites are Rublev and FAA, and overall Đoković is the most likely to win overall.

Djokovic destroyed him and played o most a perfect match against Rublev. This is how prime Djokovic plays and if he continues like this he will win the tournament without losing a single set for sure. Djokovic is in the semis so now he dosent have to push against Medvedev

cryptofrka - eh no the bet didn't age well! I didn't even get a chance to make an in play bet
on Djokovic. I thought maybe if Rublev took the lead early on, which can happen when playing
Djokovic that the odds would jump up a bit.

Joca97 - yes that was some display from him, I would say a lot of people lost on Rublev.

Nadal is currently playing Ruud, I have a bet on Ruud to win this.

-snip

I think Djokovic will win, he will be super psyched about his news from yesterday regarding AO,
so I might do an in play bet if Rublev takes the lead...

have to say that I did not expect to see Djokovic this good, but he looked today as in best days, cannot see someone to take him down on this Masters

AO visa issues are now gone, and he could see himself another GS title as well, looking at Nadal play here, Djokovic is pruned to overcome him in GS numbers next year

Me neither, I cannot see anyone beating him, as I said earlier it is like he is at the top
of his game ATM. His mental state and belief are 100%

I believe his 2023 season has got underway since that AO news!

Maybe his age is finally affecting his performance, I don't know. But this performance from him certainly did not feel like the Rafael Nadal we all know.

Nadal himself said after his elimination that he is currently lout of self-confidence and mental strength to play at a high level. But without victories he will have a hard time getting all that back.
He had some problems with his health this year and could not play some tournaments. But he is already 36 and he has noticed himself that the young players have it easier to play.
Self confidence is really big part of Nadal's game and he is nowhere near his best when there is even a little doubt in his mind. That is why he has such good record on Grand Slams, they are played BO5 which gives Nadal time to turn the matches around and they start against opponents that are well below his level. Then after Nadal gets a couple of easy wins he raises his game in each consecutive round and becomes that unbeatable beast that runs his opponents into the ground.

Yes, Nadal is one of those elite players as he can completely turn on the switch in a BO5 games and this opponent didn't know what to do as he thought that Nadal is already down and he is about to win the games against him.

Right now though, we understand if he doesn't have that confidence, he is not getting any younger, his body is battered and bruised. But for sure, it will only take just a game for him to have that mentally again and become a beast.

Of course, his injuries which he is probably constantly carrying will eat away at confidence
especially towards the end of the season.
1825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of self-custody outweigh the risk of exchanges on: November 16, 2022, 10:01:41 PM
His mistake was that he didn't have the priv keys written somewhere.

AFAIK he wasn't expecting BTC to actually become big so he just didn't mind the coins he got until its too late. Now he wants to overhaul a mountain of garbage. Today its widely advised even altcoins holders keep their private keys saved not just on a txt file but written on a piece of paper to minimize the risk even if they lose thier hard wallet, computer crash, or phone loss.

Yes this is what I was going to say as I was reading down the thread. At this stage in Bitcoin's
life and it's FIAT value there is no chance you would be discarding any hardware. So self
custody is always #1.

There are those out there who would be reluctant to spend $100 on a hardware Waller but
willing to risk their coins by handing over control to exchanges.

Fritz won the second Trofo and my bet on Ruud was good, close enough match, just the
3rd set tie break to decide the winner.

First up tomorrow is Rublev v Medvedev, the commentators on Amazon Prime are
giving Rublev a solid chance at winning, I'm not so sure though.

Second match Medvedev v Tsitsipas, that should be a close one, Medvedev is favourite.
I think you've mistakenly made it Rublev vs Medvedev, which is Rublev vs Novak Djokovic. For now the loss of Novak Djokovic against Rune in the Paris Master's seems to be the reason for the Amazon Prime commentators to fix it a winning for Rublev. In the match between Medvedev and Tsitsipas, it is going to be win for Medvedev though both are almost in a same level based on their recent matches win/loss history.

I did! of course it's Djokovic today

Tough tournament for Nadal, his 2nd straight set loss against FAA yesterday. He's playing Ruud next, based on recent performances he'll lose that one as well.
He's out and has nothing to play for - and he doesn't even look physically able to cope anymore.

I'll try a cheeky bid on Rublev against Đoković today @3.50 odds. He played well against Medvedev, the odds are attractive although I do expect Đoković to win.
Agree that Rublev should be good against Djoković but I wanted a safer bet for higher stake. Looked at handicaps but couldn't find +5.5 that pays decent so ended up playing Rublev to win at least one set @1.9.

Hopefully he will storm Djoković in the beginning and get on scoreboard before breaking apart.

Can't get decent odds either, I was looking at a simple bet on whether there will be a tie break,
around 1.8 for YES but it's too hard to call that one so I will hold fire altogether.

I think Djokovic will win, he will be super psyched about his news from yesterday regarding AO,
so I might do an in play bet if Rublev takes the lead...

In accordance with my prediction that Felix will be able to beat Nadal and it happened in straight sets, it can even be said that Felix did not get too much resistance from Nadal. Nadal continues his bad record in this tournament because this is a tournament he has participated in quite a lot but has never won a trophy.

Great news for Djokovic as his three-year ban on entering Australia has been lifted and he can get a visa for early next year's tournament, the Australian Open.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-15/novak-djokovic-to-be-granted-visa-for-australian-open/101657262

That's big news for Djokovic, he will be pumped up with that and will be driven for next year.

Nadal as I said earlier has had 10 appearances here and never won and it looks like he is
out with that loss today.

Match tonight with Ruud v Fritz is a crunch one, both players with wins in their first matches.
1833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 15, 2022, 07:15:26 AM
That match between Rublev and Medvedev is being touted by some as being a classic!
Seriously high tennis from both players especially Rublev who seemed to play at a higher level
than his normal. It looked like mentally he was in a different place. I had a straight ML
bet on Medvedev to win that one.

Djokovic was very business like yesterday and got the job done against Tsitsipas.....again.

Two good line ups today, Nadal v Felix AA, I would give Felix a chance here, he is favourite,
my bet is on at 1.6

and Ruud v Fritz, hard to pick a winner with this one IMO, Fritz is favourite but I took Ruud
at + 1.5
1834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will make it, but might be a long winter-Elon musk on: November 14, 2022, 01:21:40 PM
Personally I don't care what Elon Musk says or predicts or tweets, he's just a troll and what
really annoys me are the of people who will act on his words as if they are 100% factual.
Look at the frenzy he caused earlier this year with Doge? remember how so many people
lost the run of themselves and got hurt.

That's quite an impressive win / loss ratio for Fritz, he did well yesterday, I put a little bet
on before the match in Fritz +2.5 @ 1.83 and it was safe all the way.

I was surprised to learn that Nadal has played 10 finals and not won any!

2 matches today, Medvedev v Rublev and Tsitsipas v Djokivic, yet another meeting of these
two this year. Hard to bet against Djokovic.

I wasn't aware of a big NRL presence in the Samoan team, so yea it could be an NRL type
final but I would expect Australia to be the winners.

Rugby Union

I forgot to mention and I'm sure you have seen the result that Australia lost out to Italy
in the Autumn Internationals. They had a penalty kick to win the game and missed.

Also France v South Africa was a close affair, both with red cards the game had everything,
lots of drama but France got the job done.
1837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a 99% drop in value of Crytpo Will the Morons Move On?? on: November 13, 2022, 05:03:45 PM
A friend of mine refers to exchanges as "Shitcoin Casinos"!

There will always be an appetite for Shitcoin gambling and the lure of get rich quick possibilities.

As long as there is a chance of this exchanges will exist.

The demise of exchanges in the past like MtGox and Cryptopia have been forgotten, FTX
too will be forgotten about in time and there will be those who will "trust" exchanges again.

Felix AA lost Trofo, hopefully the handicap was covered if he was underdog?

Nadal v Fritz later on, this could be a close one and hard to bet on IMO, Frits has
had good form lately.

TBH I find this harder to be on since all players are so capable of beating each other,
the exceptions IMO are both Djokovic and Felix AA, as in Djokovic currently isn't easily
beatable and there are a few more players Felix could have trouble with.

1839  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can Binance also get bankrupt soon? on: November 13, 2022, 12:44:23 PM
No exchange is safe.
They might say they are safe and have all the safety features and procedures in place
but by putting your funds in their care you are handing over control to them.

They offer 2FA protocols to make us feel confident that funds are safe but it's an illusion.

It wasn't so long ago when Shark Tanks Kevin O'Leary was saying FTX was a safe investment.

The only thing that is safe is Bitcoin, not all the periphery services connected to it in relation
to trading and the markets.

Women's Rugby World Cup

The grand final takes place on Saturday, New Zealand v England. Being a home tournament
for the Black Ferns they are not the favourites, this has the makings of being a great final, is there
is a value bet on for New Zealand @ 2.73 ?

MASSIVE day of Rugby yesterday, I asked the question above regarding the Women's
Rugby World Cup Final if NZ were a value undergo bet, and they absolutely were, they
won the final 34-31....but I didn't pull the trigger on that bet.

Well done to them.

Autumn Internalionals

I had two bets on yesterday, Ireland to beat Fiji....but with -21.5 points which they failed
to do, it was a patchy enough game with a good few second team players getting
a start. They won but "only" by 18 points.
More importantly they hold onto
their #1 spot.

My second bet on Argentina didn't pay either, Argentina took the lead early on,
Wales had a shaky start but got the job done to "just about" win from a very
good Argentinian team, it was a close enough game, 20-13.

Rugby League

I only had one bet on the Men's World Cup this weekend, Australia to beat New Zealand.
I was going to bet on England to beat Samoa but actually forgot to do it, they lost!

Australia won, so it's an Australia v Samoa final.
