Recap on my bets on this weekends round in the United Rugby Championship: It worked out with 2 from 4. My predictions won but I made those two losses wrong, The points difference didn't workout Munster on the other hand were very good and covered my +3.5 bet by beating Edinburgh by 21 points, I definitely think they will be on a winning roll from now on.
I have 2 more bets on for today, -11.5 on the Stormers to beat the Dragons @1.71 and a straight ML win by the Lions to beat Scarlets @ 1.23
Connacht v Benneton - Connacht will win today but to get some value I have Benneton +11.5 @ 1.63
Stormers only beat the Dragons by 8 points Connacht beat Benneton by 19 points. I might rethink my point spread betting for next week....

B U M P I have been sporadically colouring my copy and have been meaning to post up the 4th page I completed. Also everyone who has bought a book has been sent a few BCB stickers, these are limited to 100 and all remaining sales will have some stickers included. I will update the OP later.

Hi Tennis posters
Obviously in the ATP and WTA there are no tournaments happening. We can be sure most of the players are hard at work training for the new season.
There are still lower tournaments happening at Challenger and ITF levels, just wondering if anyone is betting on these?
Also is or has anyone done the simulated betting?

Thanks for the links, yes it's easy to do an online search but I was hoping to get some suggestions from UI UX designers here on the forum.
I see from those 4 links the first recommendation from 3 of the sites is a "general" design book - 1. The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman are they just copying each other or is that book really the "Bible" of design?

Hopefully I'll be able to get home in time to put some wagers on those games. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get myself sorted this last week to put any wagers on, but from what I can tell they were great games.
Indeed Timelord they were! At a time when the Soccer world cup is on I find it difficult to watch that sport after watching Rugby and especially those two games last weekend and all the Autumn Internationals I got to see. There can be really bad games in Rugby but they are in a minority where as IMO really good games in Soccer are a minority. Anyway last night's games in the URC threw up wins for my predictions but I didn't put a wager on the Sharks, I wanted to do a point spread but the lowest I could get on Rollbit was -21.5, lucky because they only beat the Ospreys by 15 points. Munster on the other hand were very good and covered my +3.5 bet by beating Edinburgh by 21 points, I definitely think they will be on a winning roll from now on. I have 2 more bets on for today, -11.5 on the Stormers to beat the Dragons @1.71 and a straight ML win by the Lions to beat Scarlets @ 1.23 Connacht v Benneton - Connacht will win today but to get some value I have Benneton +11.5 @ 1.63

Hi all, I think/hope this is the correct board to post this in
My son is a few months in to a UI UX design course online and wants some related BOOKS for Christmas but we have no idea what to get.
A bit of background: he has been working in Data Analytics for a few years and wants to add UI UX Design to the portfolio.
My first thoughts on this would be that the area is a fast moving one and that somebooks would become obsolete fairly quickly I could be wrong though.
I guess there are a lot of designers in this board so hopefully you have some suggestions. any input is much appreciated.

Rugby Union
Round 9 in the United Rugby Championship kicks off tonight with 2 games:
Cell C Sharks v Ospreys - these two are close enough on the table but I'm backing the home team for this one with a point spread. Sharks are massive favourites 1.06 - 8.4... maybe a point spread on the Ospreys would be a consideration too?
The second game tonight is Edinburgh at home to visiting Munster. I think I'll go with a Munster win. I think they have their game back on winning ways. Odds are 1.75 - 2.14.
I'll go with a +3.5 on Munster @ 1.65

They say two good heads are better than one, I couldn't agree more. Here's a an unconventional betting strategy that me and my friends have come up with to bet on some of the world cup games. I totally love it because we have cashed out about $1000 since the games began. Also, it minimized the losses and everyone goes home happy.
The strategy - We created one betting account with a local gambling site prior to the World Cup Games. We all contribute equal amount of money to fund the wallet. And using different analysis we place our bets on at least 3 of the world cup games every day.
For me it has a lot of advantages -
- it minimizes losses - it reduces the chances of being addicted - it helps to build bonding. We hang out. We watch the game and we have fun. - We have a budget and we stick to it. It sorts of builds accountability.
Do you have a unconventional betting strategy that have been working for you? Do Share.
This is pool betting, not really unconventional we also did that when I was in my teenage but we did not get the results that your group or friends enjoy, there's always conflict on what team to bet and there's blaming game along the way, I'm not doing it anymore I want to be responsible on my losses and winnings and there's money involve and when there is money involved between friends there's going to be conflict, so there should be a gentlemen's agreement and you know each other character so there will be no fight, hopefully, it will not happen to you and your friends what happened to us. Yes it's a betting pool. The advantage is obviously as the OP says that many heads are better than one so everyone can input various ideas and data to create a strategy. I don't think it would reduce the chances of getting addicted though. On the plus side I could imagine that discipline and budgeting would be stricter which would be a good thing. Yea sounds good but not unconventional

I don't know, man. It seems like a very short leap from banning/restricting privacy coins to banning/restricting any cryptocurrency up to and including bitcoin itself. Makes sense, right?
These fucking government bureaucrats aren't at all concerned about money laundering in the context of privacy coins. Do they know there's a problem there to begin with, and how would they even get the data on that?
Just like in the US with its brand-new 80,000 IRS agents, the EU wants control over the money you spend whilst keeping their octopus hands in every pocket their citizens keep money in. My only question is how to fight this nonsense. Is anyone even trying to?
absolutely, this move by the EU to ban privacy coins has nothing to do with money laundering, it's just the go to excuse to ban something which gives us control over our property. and in the mean time we have the corrupt Christine Lagarde head of the EU Central Bankable to side step any accountability for her shady dealings in the past and still hold one of the top institutional positions in the world.

Is there a difference between Payment Method and a legal tender?
It is extremely frivolous to comment on something without reading what exactly it is about - is it so difficult to click on a link or do you consider it a waste of time? While this represents a huge step forward for cryptocurrency adoption, the bill falls short of making Bitcoin legal tender. For all those who relate this news in any way to El Salvador, don't be too excited - Brazil has not declared Bitcoin to be legal tender. How much this kind of law will help people in Brazil remains to be seen, and we will be able to see that only when it is officially approved by the new president next year. Yea while it does fall short of making Bitcoin legal tender, it's a massive step forward and could be seen as a stepping stone to the legal tender status. Another positive is that it's Brazil, largest country in South America. It's also another government softening it's view on Bitcoin. On the down side there will be more regulation. It's important in times like this that we can be reminded that we should seek out decentralised options for entry and exit points.

Well betting on draws in Rugby is non-sensical, it rarely happens, I get it though when betting on Soccer though, draws are the norm. (I also went to do a wager on the AFLW grand-final and mistakenly bet on Brisbane at $1.40 instead of Melbourne at $7+ - needless to say, Melbourne won and I'm a dollar shorter).
Ouch, that was a missed opportunity. Did you get a wager on Australia against Wales? that was another missed opportunity!

Nice one mx12.levins, quick turnaround! I assume you have contacted Timelord and have the details for postage?
This is moving along nicely, Europe finished!
I'm sorry to say I missed this post - (and the PM too) - @aoluain - was your message in relation to this, or something else? Did you get a message requesting your postal address from mx12.levins? You are next in line Timelord!

I'm ok with either Danes suggestion of smoothie picking the winner or with an open voting system. I would like to offer one of the remaining Bitcoin Colouring Books to the prize pot > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406385.0What happens in the highly unlikely event that I win? maybe I pass the book to my personal pick?

De Minaur actually has to improve. And he will also have to become very consistent in his performance. The reason being is that if he does not do this, even if he has really remarkable talent, he will not be able to produce the results that will propel him to the top of his field.
And I say that he has to improve because he does not have a stellar record against the top 5 players in tennis right now. So obviously he has to improve his performance. And consistency is a must for any player. There is no replacement for consistency in a player's career. In most cases, only having potential is not enough for a person to succeed.
about de Minaur it's interesting this statistics: 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 Year-end ranking 349 208 31 18 23 34 24 He has a superb season on 2016/2017, and later a really impressive result reaching atp rank 31th on 2018 and 18th on 2019! After this he has two years with slow decline with 23th/34th place in 2020/2021. Nowadays he seems again on track at 24th place. However I think he is a strong player that can be a top 10 players in the next few years. It still has to explode its full potential, that's for sure. They are interesting stats, it seems like he has reached a kind of limit and cannot progress towards to top 10, or maybe that other players are doing more than him and have overtaken him like Tiafoe who leapfrogged him into 19 position, this does seem like if he has the talent he needs to work harder and possibly develop other aspects of the game to rise with other players. It's altogether very interesting and really comes down to finer details like the mental side of the game.

The thing is, I have heard some people on the past saying if they could go back in time to 2010, 2011 and 2012 they would have sold everything and bought Bitcoin.
Let's face it, we all know Bitcoin is only going up in the medium to long term so what is the problem with doing NOW what many people will be regretting they did when Bitcoin hits $160k and more?
