1741  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 10, 2022, 05:47:37 PM
It is my expectations that the second half of next year will be very interesting in terms of
-Pre-Halving- price movement.

We have seen this before and closer to the halving event a lot of people ask "is the halving
priced in?" and usually it is because the markets start to react about 6 months before
the halving happens.

It's impossible to say just how high we can go in 2024 but in the second half we should be
leaving the sub $20k long behind.

Yea the Aussies have a high chance of beating the Irish, but into oblivion I'm not so sure.
It's only 1 round gone and yea Australia are in top spot with 20 points, Ireland in 6th with 10.

I actually saw the 7's listed on ROLLBIT last week but didn't look into it. Both Mens and
Women's competitions running together which is great. They can do that because the games
are short of course.
1743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 09, 2022, 09:34:40 PM
We are seeing this 2022 World Cup had several surprises.
Brazil's defeat against Croatia, and at the moment, I'm wrinting this post, Netherlands managed to tie the game against Argentina.

Apparently, I believe we don't have a favorite team for this cup, because anything can happen...

Will Morocco be able to beat Portugal and France will lose the game tomorrow? That's the question...

That was some surprise for Brazil to be beaten by Croatia, only managing to score 1 goal
from play and for Croatia to score one back to get to penalties.

I think a lot of bets got liquidated today with Brazil.

Netherlands v Argentina

I am just checking in on the stats so far, The Netherlands have had 2 shots on target only
and they both have registered goals, impressive.

I am hoping the Dutch go through.

These look great, thanks for organising Mopar.

The link to the plebeian listing is not working, would it be better to order direct from there
in terms of shipping being based in the E.U?

I would like to get 2, either direct or from yourself.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 09, 2022, 07:05:27 AM
If it's for betting on classic casino games, the AI won't be able to beat the HE. In other cases, like sports betting, as you say, I imagine it's going to be able to do much better than most people would.

In the poll I answered yes, but as a test, and in view of the results I would decide whether to continue using it.

So I imagine a lot of people are going to start using it.

For sports betting I suppose it would have the edge, presumably it would have access
to all the data about teams, the breakdown of each player and to be able to compile all that
info precisely and quickly to predict an outcome.

The only trouble which I can see for it is the "human element". Humans are unpredictable,
they throw off our bets so it will happen for the AI too.

But yea overall I recon using that ChatGPT would be a useful tool.
1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 08, 2022, 09:24:20 PM
Yes the Diriyah Tennis Cup just kicked off today, it's a 3 day event with a lot of Big names
in attendance.

This will be beneficial I recon for Zverev, Thiem and Wawrinka but yea Thiem has
already lost to Zverev. Wawrinka has beaten Berrettini and plays Medvedev next after
beating Rublev also and Medvedev beat Zverev.

TBH it's been a big day of action which I don't fully understand the format.
1747  Economy / Economics / Re: Share Your Best Money Advice Based on Personal Experience on: December 08, 2022, 01:28:23 PM
The best money advice I received when I was younger and just starting out was "spend less than you earn". I took it to heart and have lived it ever since.

It is easy advice to remember, but harder to put into practice. First of all, start by making a budget. Break down your income into categories to see where everything is going. Make sure to set aside some money for savings, and put that money in a separate account. Your choices will always be better if you plan ahead rather than simply reacting to every situation that comes your way.

That's good advice, it's so logical really but very hard to do. So many of us are roped into
the financial system of availing of loans to buy things, some we don't necessarily need.

For the longest time, I have been thinking about doing this. It seems like the right time is now. All of us have had good, bad, and ugly experiences with money. So now is a good time to offer your two cents worth of financial advice.

Ty question-  Based on your cumulative life experiences, can you share your best money advice with us?

I'd go first -  Stay out of debt as much as you can.
The best financial advise I got is from Robert Kiyosaki's best-selling book "Rich Dad Poor Dad". To be honest the book is a treasure trove of important financial wisdoms you must absorb and apply in your life but the one lesson that really resonated with me is when he said "Financial Education is your greatest asset". You will see people earning huge wads of cash and then blow it up the next day on things they don't even need. And there are some people who get by with a large savings from their regular 9-5. I do not need to tell you who's the more financial literate one and who'd idealistically end up with more money when they retire. That's basically the logic behind it. You need to be financially literate in order to know what to do with your money, because if you do not, you'd end up burning all the money you would earn and you'd end up not saving anything for when you can't work anymore.

I think school falls short, or at least for me and my schoolmates, we were never taught
any financial education. That was reserved for the more academic students.

But it's true, Financial education is so important, everything we do has a financial aspect
or consequence.

The United Rugby Championship is on hold until 23rd of December to allow the "Heineken Cup"
kick into gear.

https://www.epcrugby.com/champions-cup/matches/

This is the pinnacle of European club Rugby with French, English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish,
Italian ....and South African* teams involved.

*Kind of like Australia in the EUROvision Song Contest!

I'm not up to speed with the English or French clubs so I might not do any bets this weekend
until I educate myself a little first on who's who.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Candidates for the WORLD CUP 2022 Winner on: December 07, 2022, 01:17:53 PM
~snip~
This time the semifinals will be very interesting. From the quarter finals I believe Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and France to reach the semifinals. We can't be judgemental on the semifinals easily. Every match will be that hard as the four teams are in their best position.

I think the next winners will be these teams:

Quote
Netherlands
Brazil
France
Portugal
Then the final will be Brazil vs France

And the winner will be France

I agree with that.

Brazil and Portugal have the easier draws next so Brazil should beat Croatia and Portugal
should be Morocco. Does anyone see an upset happening there?

The other two draws are tough ones England v France, I think France will come through that
one but the other is going to be close, Netherlands v Argentina, The Netherlands have a
chance to go through to the semi's.

Things are definitely hitting up in the Netherlands, they have been big under-achievers in
many tournaments when there have been big expectations on them
1751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should be my fear? on: December 07, 2022, 07:17:05 AM
Your fear should be about missing these lows. Because you'll never know how high bitcoin can go again and even if it's go lower this time, you can just buy them if it ever goes lower.
In the future, you'll see people again regretting that they've missed the train and buying when it's too low for everybody. But, you ask them what they've done during that time, they'll say nothing and reason out that they've got nothing. If they really want to have it at a low price, take action on it and don't just let it be on your mouth but just do it.

Yep, that's exactly what I would be afraid of, not getting enough Bitcoin at times like this!

Don't be worried about the price falling, just buy more when/if it does.

Be afraid of the future when Bitcoin passes $100k and looking back to >NOW< and
realising you had a golden opportunity to buy low.
People look only when the price is falling but don't look at the opportunity that it is bringing for everyone. And when this time is done, they'll be missing it again sharing how frustrated they are and regretful about not purchasing when we're telling them so.
That's really scarier when it's on the news that bitcoin has already reached 6 digits and they didn't even hold even a few satoshis of it.

That's right, there are people who have fears about buying now because the price might
go down but they fail to realise the price will go up.

There are people who need proof to counter their fears and so will buy when the price
goes close to the ATH then realise they shouldn't have been so consumed by their
fears at $17k.

As a newbie who has a little knowledge of cryptocurrency but much interest in purchasing bitcoin for a long time Hodl, since the purchasing capital is not included in my spendable budget and the price of bitcoin is not very high at the moment 16k, what should be my fear?

Pls, advise me.

1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 06, 2022, 06:29:39 PM
It looks like PSG's front three are going to dominate this World Cup. Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar have all advanced to the quarterfinals. It will be one of them who brings home the World Cup trophy. The statement was made at the start of the tournament. This is the group that will decide who will win the 2022 World Cup edition. They are the best players in the world. There will be a World Cup winner from Argentina, Brazil, or France this year. I always hope Messi's Argentina will win the FIFA World Cup.
I just think that Mbappe and Neymar will meet in the final like the previous meeting in 1998 Brazil vs France met in the final with the final result France won a landslide victory 3 - 0 without reply, it would be a great match if the two met in the final, but they have to get rid of the team others to reach the final

Yea that would be something.

After the match between Brazil and Croatia I have mixed feelings about that game.
On one hand It was impressive to see 4 different scorers for Brazil and it was all in the
First half and then they had many opportunities in the second half and couldn't
finish them.

The key match really is the France v England one coming up soon. For me if France can beat
England comprehensively, like in normal time they would appear stronger than Brazil.
1754  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling 4 original Beatles Mini-Records, Two with original signatures. on: December 06, 2022, 07:25:54 AM
Just because they are old and probably not 1st releases and are The Beatles
doesn't mean they are "valuable".

The go-to place for a valuation is discogs.com.

From me to You SOE 3 739 all releases starting at $8

https://www.discogs.com/master/352505-The-Beatles-From-Me-To-You

The only way the OP's vinyl will be worth anything substantial is if they are rare variant.

If I want these just to play every so often, they need to be playable without damaging the stylus
of my player etc. they will only be worth ~$10 each.

If I'm a collector and want to add something valuable to the collection these are not them
provided they are not rare.

1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Candidates for the WORLD CUP 2022 Winner on: December 05, 2022, 01:00:33 PM
So far France is the biggest favorite for winning the World Cup. Brazil didn't impress at all against Switzerland and they lost against Cameroon. They also have a bunch of injured players. Maybe Brazil can reach the semifinals at least. I don't believe that England is going to achieve something big on this World Cup. The English team played against weaker opponents and won, but they fail at winning against a better opponent most of the time. I can't see how England could possibly win against France. The rest of the teams seem mediocre, even Spain and Portugal.

Based on individual attacking powers, England can eliminate France in that meeting. The attacking strength of England is more powerful than the attacking strength of France. But the attacking strength of France is more dangerous than the attacking strength of England because of Kylian Mbappe. That guy is so deadly and can put out wonders that you wouldn't expect at any time.

So the difference is "Powerful" as opposed to "Dangerous", England's attacking is Powerful
and Frances attacking is Dangerous, apologies I don't follow.

For me the World Cup is only getting interesting now when the lesser teams are eliminated.

Of course Brazil can never ignored at any world cup along with the other South American
team Argentina. Based on the Statista.com website the top 3 teams most probable to
win are Brazil, Argentina and France.

From what I gather Brazil and Argentina are relying heavily on both Neymar and Messi,
whereas France have more options, I would pick France.

Also I would love to see Netherlands at least get to the final!
1758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: December 05, 2022, 07:11:20 AM
I'm always wary of points spreads preferring to just place bets on who is going to win a match (I'm reluctantly placing two bets on soccer fixtures win+draw)

I may not get to see these matches, but I'm going for Salford Red Devils, Wiggan Warriors and Hull FC in the English Rugby League on the 18th of December.

Leigh Centurions - Salford Red Devils Money Line Salford Red Devils @ 1.65 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.165 mBTC
Hull KR - Wigan Warriors Money Line Wigan Warriors @ 1.38 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.138 mBTC
Hull FC - Castleford Tigers Money Line Hull FC @ 1.60 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.16 mBTC

plus a parlay on those three to win:

Leigh Centurions - Salford Red Devils Money Line Salford Red Devils @ 1.65 Hull KR - Wigan Warriors Money Line Wigan Warriors @ 1.38 Hull FC - Castleford Tigers Money Line Hull FC @ 1.60 Taken Amount: 0.07 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.255 mBTC

Ah the Super League, I wouldn't be clued in to that competition or the teams other
than famous names like Hull, At. Helen's and Wigan Warriors. I'm not sure I will be
getting involved with that competition. The Rugby Union side is going to get way busier
this weekend with the start up of two more competitions:

European Champions Cup (The Heineken Cup) and
The EPCR Challenge Cup

There is Irish interest in both competitions, Leinster, Munster and Ulster in the
Champions Cup and Connacht in the Challenge Cup so I will be following those as
much as I can but I will be focusing on the URC.
1759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $128,000 and it's been a week waiting for game provider verification on: December 04, 2022, 08:35:53 PM
If you win large amounts of money, the chances are quite high that they will want to reject you to a certain investigation. 128k is also a decent amount, I understand that they want to do a verification. And the KYC doesn't seem that strange to me if you win such amounts in the end. And if you eventually get the money deposited, that doesn't seem like a problem to me. I think that providers are also bound by certain laws and regulations, but there will also be gambling sites that do not feel like paying out such large amounts at all and then they could of course pull out the whole box of tricks to extend the payment as long as possible to set.

How often do Casinos have to pay out $128k ? I would say not that often. Wins like this
would surely be factored into the Casinos finances and would guess that it's a small
percentage of their takings.

Maybe they have extended payout times for these substantial payouts, maybe they
are required by law to do checks?
1760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time of owning bitcoin on: December 04, 2022, 06:10:36 PM
Before I received my first Bitcoin I had to do a lot of research and verify what I was doing.

I had to make sure I was in full control of my Bitcoin and to choose a wallet which gave
me FULL CONTROL with private keys.

Receiving the Bitcoin for the first time, I think it was $100 worth gave me mixed feelings,
on one hand it was great to see it landing in my wallet but on the other I was anxious to
get more and make the wallet balance grow!
