I find it strange that the number comes down sometimes. Some miners can't make up there mind? They seriously don't know what they want?

It is amount of blocks mined with BIP91.

If some miner that does not support BIP91 mines extra blocks, it'll lower the number. And vice versa.

I'm surprised the price of bitcoin isn't moving with bip91% I expected it to rise as we moved over 80%

Has to lock in for anything to change. It hit 80% after the lock in period already started meaning it would need to be over 80% for that same amount of time to average out. Price is holding fairly steady waiting to see if it locks in. Even if it does not, the next lock in period over the weekend should push it through.

is eating his dick actually in the contractual agreement or is that 'just' him being a showman?

It is a twitter locked in contract.
2685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 19, 2017, 08:23:41 AM
Prediction:

BIP91 will not lock in this time. It will lock in this weekend which will bring with it a weekend pump.

Price prediction: $500,000/BTC

In 3 years or I will watch John McAffee eat his own dick on TV.

BIP91 at 74% (last 144 blocks).

I cant wait untill Segwit and sidechains arrives. It will disrupt this fiat system greatly.

And the alt market...

Bitcoin ICOs.

 Cool

But I cannot take someone seriously who thinks that cars hold value? A fucking CAR?

HAHAHAHA so go find someone who sold in 2013, at $1100, bought a car, and has more value now.... Roll Eyes

There are many, many cars you could've bought back then that you might have doubled your money on or more. Any crappy old 911, BMW M3s, Lancia Integrales, the list is endless.

If you think crypto is in a bubble, then premium cars gave up on rationality a long time ago.

I had a crappy old 911. It lost value and cost a lot to repair.

Is gold even a good investment right now? I must admit it'd be pretty cool to have a 1KG gold or silver bar in a glass cabinet in your home.

If you can buy tungsten directly instead of being passed off as gold it is a lot cheaper.

Taxation isn't theft, its the cost of living in society and you definitely do have a say on your taxes because you can choose who you vote for.

So it would seem that there will be no spilt chains, and everyone is breathing and buying Bitcoin again.  Smiley

So 2500.00 by the end of the day?  Grin

What I look forward to most is Lightning Network.

So, can someone explain the blue shading and black lines under the graph on here

https://www.xbt.eu/

I am not sure for the rest, but the first bar (BIP91 LOCK-IN) I believe the black bar represent the 269 out of 336 blocks (80%).

For the one below, the black bar represents current signalling for BIP91.

Not sure about the rest of it though.

Ahh, I think the blue in the second line is the % of BIP91 for a longer period...perhaps a day or so.

Considering BIP91 is at 63% and SegWit is at 22%...all the SegWit folks need to do to get SegWit activated is to add the BIP91 bit and wait for 2 days and we will have SegWit with 85% participation. Then with BIP148 it will fill that last 10% to activate in the Core client. Done.
2696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 18, 2017, 06:30:57 AM
BIP91 now at 60%

It needs 80% to activate.

Doesn't it have to sustain over 80% for like two days?  a certain number of blocks?  or am I remembering incorrectly?

Do you guys (and gal) think that we are experiencing such bullish price pressures because of this seemingly activation thingie?

As I type, Stamp is kind of pushing much higher prices (2-4%), and everyone else is seeming more resistant to follow.. maybe afraid of getting dumped upon?  gun shy?

The price has been following activation for a while. The dump over the weekend came right after Garzick announced that the software (that was supposed to be released) was not ready.

Rebounded after the software was released and miners started using it.

Prediction:

BTC1 (Segwit2x) will be released Monday for the miners to test sending the bitcoin price back above $2300.

Predicted when the price was in the $1800s Wink

John McAfee is taking bets:

Quote
In the long term Bitcoin moves above  $500,000 within three years. Bets?

Send legal contract bet to:

I would definitely take a $500k bet knowing that in 3 years I can sell one of my bitcoins for $500k to pay off the bet happily. Or he gives me $500k. Win win.

So, have we entered full reversal mode yet? It seems to me that occasionally a wall pops up to push the price back into the *right* direction.

I'm not sure if this is a healthy correction to the huge increase we had over the past few months or what. It seems like SegWit news is keeping it alive but I'm not sure of the cause for this rally in the first place so who knows. If the big investors are still looking at bitcoin as a safe place for their money there is plenty of room upwards.
