I see a lot of talk about the "dead cat bounce". This has never happened in the history of bitcoin. A DCB is when a STOCK that is spiraling down to dissolution finds a little support for a little while. It is still going to go to zero, but bounces up a bit before bottoming out. Bitcoin is nothing like a stock. Stocks are issued by a central authority to take in needed money. A business that is unsuccessful at selling it's stock could collapse and become valueless. Guess what. Bitcoin does not need your money, it's a computer program and works just fine no matter what the price is. That means it will not drop to zero (unless it becomes broken, of course). It can go down and up a million times but is not going to die. What many here like to call a DCB is actually just a boring market correction.

Don't buy a car, it's going to crash!
Don't buy a cymbal for your drum kit, it's going to crash!
Don't take sleeping pills or you will crash!
Good points! also cars, drums, and pills are not backed by anything. lol

Well there is some evidence of it. The world's largest Bitcoin exchanges tell CNNMoney they've seen a surge of business from Greece. Ten times as many Greeks are registering to trade bitcoins on the German marketplace Bitcoin.de than usual... http://money.cnn.com/2015/06/29/technology/greece-bitcoin/I'm skeptacle to say the least. Since when has sites like CNN prompted Bitcoin? ... They are not promoting it? They are reporting what they have been told by exchanges. The demand [for Bitcoin] in the last 4 weeks has risen by 400%. -

Looks like somebody sold at $220. Hey OP, here is a pro-tip for you. Try spreading FUD during a downtrend.

What are you NOT allowed to sell on the market place?
whatever that is illegal in the seller/buyer's country, and probably in the US too. so drugs and firearms are a no-no. also hacked accounts are not allowed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3629.0As a side note... Firearms are legal for Americans to sell in the U.S. Although if it is a handgun, machine gun, etc. You will need to go through an FFL.

How do you all know what the resistance price's are. Some say that we can shoot up above 300 dollars, 266 dollars is important.. How do you know ?
The answer to your question is that no one here has a god-damn clue what is going to happen next. Speculation is guessing. Don't become deluded into thinking someone somewhere knows the answers.

I think this will change. Kinda like the early internet. I remember when you had to type in everything to just connect. Then you had to guess domain names since there were no search engines. And even before that I used to have to war dial to find computers. It was really only for the most dedicated computer geeks. Now Grandma uses the internet.

I wish there were a global conspiracy to control the world. Frankly it would be comforting compared to the truth, which is that the no one is able to control anything anymore and our modern world is starting to fall apart.

Could it be the "stress test" that someone here is launching? Basically they are DDOSing the blockchain today.

Why would the Cato institute know anything about bitcoin? The only one of them I have met that understands bitcoin at all left them to go into bitcoin.

There are several options you may be interested in. First, getting your coins... You will need to have a "wallet" for receiving BTC. That wallet is associated with "receiving addresses" that you give to a person who wants to send you money (BTC). There are various wallet options, this may help you decide. ( https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet ) The main factor is whether or not you control the "private keys" for your wallet. You may never see them using bitcoin, and you should not show them to anyone. Hosted wallets are easy to use and great for a smart phone, however you are sharing your key and must trust the hosting website. I use an online wallet for convenience, but I keep only about $100 in it. Once you have a wallet set up and have provided a receiving address you can have your funds in mins. If you want to sell them you are going to want to set up an account at an exchange in your country. There are a great many of them now. Look for a a legally registered business that practices KYC and AML. If they don't all you know for sure is that you are dealing with criminals and it could go very wrong. Exchanges can be linked to your bank account and make it super easy to convert to fiat. However, you may find it cheaper to just spend your coins. It saves a step and saves on fees. Over 100,000 places take BTC now and I only use bitcoin online and never "sell" it. You can buy anything now and it keeps growing every day. The taxation on bitcoin is tax on "capitol gains". You pay a percentage on the appreciation in value, if any. You may also claim a loss if the price is lower than when you received them. So for example you get your bitcoin at a value of $220 but the price jumps to $260 when you go to sell them. Your then paying tax on the $40 you made. The rate varies from 0% to perhaps 15%. You will have to do your taxes to find out, but let's say it's 10%. You then have a tax burden of $4 to pay. Hope this helps!

WTF? Why am I not listed as Illuminati? I'm one also. I represent the even more secret 14th.blood line. We secretly control the other blood lines without them knowing.

I don't know guys. Someone with a 0 activity in another thread assures me that bitcoin is about to drop to sub zero values.... So....

How did a two year old get an account anyway. ...

These "stress tests" are a little dumb, and nothing more than a propaganda stunt. We all know what the limits of bitcoin are, and the core devs definitely do. ...
Agreed. The first time was a cute trick. But if this is your new hobby then you should be testing on the "test net". Perhaps you can glean it's use from the name "TEST NET".
