Would have saved a lot of wealth if they had started pouring their wealth from the rubble into Bitcoin USD a couple months ago..

FTFY.
But hey, I'll match your hindsight & schadenfreude with "You could have saved a lot of wealth by pouring your Bitcoin into USD a year ago."

What will you do one all fiats keep crashing and you are out of them to point at? consider that at that time Bitcoin will be above ATH again.
Enjoy the butthurt if you aren't loaded with BTC by then my friend.
(in before metals)

"Keeps crashing"?!  USD is doing great--it's your Bitcoin that "keeps crashing."
What's wrong with you bro?

The only thing not crashing is the USD..

A star is the brighest before it's implosion.

2763  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to Bitcoin on: December 15, 2014, 09:04:40 PM
With the difficultly leveling out... there is a potential.

There isn't. Even if there are no new miners, there will still be newer, better hardware which will push the difficulty up.

As of now there is no way of telling if that new hardware will be released tomorrow, a month, 3 years from now.

First time in 22 months the difficulty went negative.

Althought it would seem it might be soon as people are claming .2Ghs/Watt chips are hitting the market.

There is bound to be, such is the nature of chip development. The hardware companies would try to increase their profit and the race continues.

If there is not enought money coming in there will be zero $ for R&D.
2764  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Massive decrease in payouts the past 24 hours..?? on: December 15, 2014, 02:37:38 PM
bitmain or spondoolies...... hmmmmm. we all know bitmain mines with HW before selling it.

Never sell an untested product IMO.
2765  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pics of Large Bitcoin Mine Under Construction on: December 15, 2014, 12:57:16 AM
The power!! You gonna try power factor correction?  Curious to if a mine runs a capacitive power factor.

What kind of eggs?

This is a good question.

Buying a bitcoin miner that could go into a PCI-E slot would be a decent seller IMO.   PERFECT for the hobby miner.

It's hard to do this.  There have been a few to advertise PCI-e that end up selling them once launched to sit out in air.  Monarch and there was another 2 I cant remember names i'm hitting a blank right now.

With cooling being outside of computer just makes sense.  Also being able to mine on their own without computer is a nice feature.

Ya but BFL made the monarch as they were dying..

Although you are right the S1 and S3 have been awesome for me as they are a setup, forget and I don't need my comp on.
2768  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S5 Speculation on: December 13, 2014, 03:35:06 PM
Not interested in a water cooled unit TBH..  I will buy three of the S5 miners when they come out if they are the same design idea as the S1 and S3.   So easy to setup!!  Not a big purchase I know but I am just a little hobby miner Smiley.  I want my "vote" on bitcoin lol. IMO the S1 and S3 are PERFECT just perfect for the hobby miner.
2769  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 13, 2014, 03:31:30 PM
Ahh ya pumping in the Bitcoins today!!!  Two S3's & an S1 mining away Cheesy.

Shutdown 2 of my S1's at the start of the month Sad. Had 4, gave one to a friend, other one is still hasing away Cheesy, it keeps me warm lol, legit I am in Canada.

Anyone else use Bitmain miners?  I am grabbing two S5's for sure when they come out!!
2770  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 12, 2014, 10:17:44 PM
wow worst day ever at slush 1 day 4 hours after a 8 hour invalid  block on top of it ugh.... 36hrs no profits and 1 day electric bill cant do it anymore slush, cant afford to mine for free!!!!! outta here

So is it just a worst day or are we actually not mining properly...?!?!
2771  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 12, 2014, 09:28:56 PM
Is the pool still mining on the last invalid block or something?

No idea.. :S..
2772  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Massive decrease in payouts the past 24 hours..?? on: December 12, 2014, 09:17:43 PM
Anyone else noticing this?  By massive I mean zero payouts from my pool...  I have never seen that before although it is possible.
2773  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 12, 2014, 09:15:53 PM
Thanks MrTeal, I know that the 57% are 24h, but I stayed there 5 months and there never were such
long blocktimes in series. That was the question. WTF is happening in bitcoin network overall?

I switched two of my S3 to BTCGuild, but there it is nearly the same.

Starting to wonder this myself.
2774  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 12, 2014, 09:14:23 PM
0%.....

Are we being 51%ed via a solo miner...?!?!

The banks bought up all of the new 14nm gear and are going to sink BTC?!?! RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!!!
2775  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What mining companies are recommended? Re: BFL fucked us over again on: December 12, 2014, 09:07:36 PM
try rockminer, i have a couple of their rigs and they work well

I have heard that RockMiner has ceased production.

Really?!?! Sad... I liked their R-box and "new-Rbox".
2776  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What mining companies are recommended? Re: BFL fucked us over again on: December 12, 2014, 09:06:24 PM
Which mining companies are recommended now? and does others use Amazon EC2? I'm renting for m7m algo, need some opinions for others tested mining rigs.

There's only 2 worth considering:

1. Bitmain has the price advantage.
2. Spondoolies has the quality advantage.

IMO Rockminer is a great company as well.  The new-rbox is great for hobby miners, GREAT!! I bought their old R-box and liked it a lot.

2778  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Miner for beginner on: December 12, 2014, 09:02:53 PM
How about the Rockminer New R-Box?  The old ones are much smaller, about 35GH/s, but the new ones are about 100-110 GH/s and will cost you around $75.  That's enough hashrate to get noticeable payouts, unlike a GPU or small USB sticks, and should be within budget, although you'll need something for power.

This...

You can get a 35GH/s unit for ~ $40 or the 100GH/s unit for ~ $85. And they both use about 1 watt per GH/s. This is really your best hash speed relative to power consumption that you'll see in the sub-$100 price range. The S1 runs at least 1.5, probably closer to 2 watts per GH/s.

The S1 is a lot easier to get than the New-Rox for bitcoin noobs.. Sad.

It's not to make a profit.. it's to understand mining.. IMO the S1 is amazing for this, cheap, very reliable, I've had 4 running for a year zero failures and it's hashrate is still decent they'll get payouts.  400Watts so you get an idea of why making a large mining operation probably is not the best idea unless it's uber massive.
2779  Other / Off-topic / Modbus and FInning CAT EPMC4.2 on: December 12, 2014, 08:40:19 PM
Has anyone written a program to gather information from a EMCP4.2 controller via modbus?

Anyone skilled with modbus that uses Horner or GE PLC's?  I have the modbus map.

I need to test it without the actual controller I don't want to show up on site and just hope it works.

The main thing I am really looking for is a way to mimic the EMCP4.2 controller with my computer.
2780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition to steam to add bitcoins and altcoins as a payment method. on: December 12, 2014, 07:39:22 PM
Why would you want them to add altcoins as well?

Bitcoin is the safest and best option for any service, site or merchants.

Peercoins are a pretty decent choice as an alternative, IMO. Nothing wrong with Bitcoins, but why just limit the choice to one cryptocurrency only?

I love the small block chain size of bitcoin.
