2181  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bitcoin mining and your electrical outlets on: June 03, 2015, 03:50:01 PM
Most outlets are wired in series, main wires come in to one outlet, then go back up the wall & over to the next outlet.

Sometimes as many as 4 outlets on a single line.

You need to remove the cover & look inside, unless the wires are "pushed" in the back of the outlet(you may need to pull the outlet out),to see if the line goes back out.

Also, most outlets are rated for 15 amps or less. You can upgrade your outlets to 20 amp models.

Standard 15amp outlet:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-15-Amp-Duplex-Outlet-White-R52-05320-00W/202066670

20amp outlet:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-20-Amp-Commercial-Duplex-Power-Outlet-White-R62-CBR20-00W/202066702

Not a single outlet on the planet is wired in series.... they are all wired in parallel.

OP, clean the connection between the wire and the outlet.
2182  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: KnC new toys on: June 03, 2015, 03:23:38 PM
Wondering if they will do home miner with it!? Probably not  Undecided

I think the idea of a home miner is almost gone..  Bitmain and rock miner are the only ones left that really make small miners for home miners..  Spoondlies are all pretty pricy..  Although I suppose still pretty logical for a small mining operation.

A shame.. we need home miners to keep it decentralized.
2183  Bitcoin / Hardware / "New R box" from Rock miner. on: June 03, 2015, 03:20:27 PM
I know the unit has been out for some time.  I am suprised this unit hasn't been bought a lot more.  It is PERFECT for the hobby miner.  Small enough power draw that if you have a decent powersupply in your computer all you need is the miner..

I am running mine from my comp power supply and using the comp as a controller...  It is only the cost of the miner.  While it probably won't make you any cash as mining has become a very small profit move it is great to mine as a hobby and very cost and *EDIT* low power draw, only 110 watts not very noticable on your bill.

Anyone else have the "new r-box" using their comp power supply to power it and comp to control it?

I am tempted to buy another one as back up lol.
2184  Economy / Economics / Re: What to buy.. what to buy.. on: June 03, 2015, 02:42:13 PM
# Oil, why Oil ? The price of oil has been trending down lately, some call this price manipulation, and it really is.

# Gold, why gold ? Unlike paper currency, coins or other assets, gold has maintained its value throughout the ages.
People see gold as a way to pass on and preserve their wealth from one generation to the next.

*gold has maintained its value throughout the ages. *

Hum.. because of that.

spazzdla

If you have been buying PMs and crypto, then you are in pretty good shape!  If you feel that you have "enough", then yes, it's OK to look at some alternatives.  Some ideas:

Oil & Gas LP and an ETF:

-- Tallgrass Energy Partners (TEP).  Mostly Nat Gas, they process some of it (for NGLs) and they are in a stable part of the USA (Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and Kansas).  Nice yield.

-- Alerian ETF of oil & gas (AMJ) .  Also has a good yield.  AMJ holds a number of oil & gas LPs.  (I own some AMJ)

Stocks:

I would only buy something that you do NOT already have, for diversification.  IMO, the stock market is risky (priced very high) now, so I wold only buy shares of companies that are strong with little debt.

Im in gold and BTC prettt decently.  Alas almost 80% of my wealth is just sitting as Fiat in a savings account....  Could be useful during deflation alas I am 100% positive my gov will empty my entire account "for the greater good".  Been considering just holding a couple k cash on the side but.. I dunno that is just burning money.

I have been very nervious about the stock market as it seems insanely high.

I feel gas is low right now hence wanting to get into it.  I will take a gander of these ETF's.

I've been considering gaslog a LGN shipping company.  They seem to have bottomed out currently.
2186  Economy / Economics / Re: Smoking gun of the world system? on: June 03, 2015, 01:24:03 PM
Well, I don't like all such conspiracy theories. There is no world coalition who rules the world. I would not say, that there isn't a group who tries to reach it, but the world is so complex and it needs so many actors that it is not possible.

IF 12 families own 60% of ALL OF THE STOCKS..

comment?
2187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: June 02, 2015, 08:27:45 PM
As long as there are capital controls, there will be a reason for Bitcoin. It already has it's killer app, most people just don't care. That's fine, enough do care to keep it going.

This person gets it

2189  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hillary allows men at ‘women-only’ event amid weak turnout on: June 02, 2015, 07:45:21 PM
Women have an insane advantage in the western world right now..

Mainly because the media has made it appear they do not when they actually get hired  based on the fact they are female alone.  Tons of educational programs to help them along the way, schools education system changed to help educate women and screw men..

The east will take over sooner than later as they care about skill and only skill.  Not if they have the right amount of women, blacks, etc working for them..

Women can scream FHRINP on TV no one cares a man yells it at a soccer game, FIRED, publicly shamed.

Right now the advantages of being born a women in the western world are just amazing.  Jenner changed sexes 100% because HE is vain and loves attention.  What a better way to get attention.. BECOME A WOMEN the west LOVES feminism and HATES masculinity.

What I am getting at is basically no one gives a damn you can be widly sexist towrads men in the western world sexism towards men does not exist.  It does but no one will ever accuse you of it and if you try to defend yoursel you are sexist pig.
2190  Other / Archival / Re: Ross Ulbricht sentenced to life. Good or bad news? on: June 02, 2015, 07:38:53 PM
Man our law system is wack, how does one go to life sentence when he didnt physically rape/murder someone.

As for the price comment, should have no effect. Its a shame though this fellow didnt get away with what bankers do every 5 years.

This is what happens when central bankers run your country / (the planet).
2191  Other / Archival / Re: Ross Ulbricht sentenced to life. Good or bad news? on: June 02, 2015, 07:36:49 PM
Does anyone know how on earth did the LEs get that many bitcoins out from ross? Was ross seriously such an imbecile that he used some super weak password or had his coins unencrypted?

Torture, the threat of torture, the threat of decimating his entire family.

100% this is what went down.

Having your flesh ripped off slowly while they feed you via the ass and keep you bound in insane positions is wildly effective.  Insanely barbaric but effective.  MERICA.
2192  Other / Archival / Re: Ross Ulbricht sentenced to life. Good or bad news? on: June 02, 2015, 07:34:45 PM
It's definitely bad news for him. Life and maximum security to boot.

This was a foregone conclusion from the moment he was arrested anyway.

The judge is a stooge, his own lawyer an ass and even those who were working to catch him were corrupt as fuck.

^^ This.  I think everyone expected the land of the slaves to ensure slaves are punished for disobeying.

2194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin points of massive price movement on: June 02, 2015, 03:59:54 PM
The fact I can move my entire networth any where on the planet without anyone knowing is still insanely underestimated and talked about.  This is the first time EVER.. this has been possbile...  For the entire lenght of human history this has not been possible.  Gold was the best way but still easily found on a person.

I agree on advantages of bitcoin over alternatives, but i dont see how this relates to this thread ..

This will soon be something wildly wanted by the vast majority of humans.

What can PPC do?
2196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FORK POLL - A transactions per second comparison of the top 10 cryptocurrencies on: June 02, 2015, 03:09:58 PM
Changing BTC form 7 TPS to 70 isn't much...

The fork needs a REAL solution hence why I don't like it.

When your target is 1M... going from 7 to 70 isn't a solution.   Perhaps we do need a kick the can move until someone can come up with a real one though.

I will just stay where I am.

As it has been said it was 100% because he was going to back the USD with silver.  The jews could not let this happen.
