2781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 26, 2018, 10:26:58 PM
Wow, pretty sad what is happening to LitePay, Charlie Lee and the Litecoin Foundation have apologized for failing to conduct due diligence on LTC-based payment processing startup LitePay!!! And, unfortunately, I think this could affect LTC! Here's the sad news https://www.ccn.com/we-got-too-excited-charlie-lee-litecoin-foundation-apologize-after-litepay-vanishes/ !
Many fully believed that the foundation was involved, or Charlie was involved, etc. While it is important for the foundation and the community to encourage and support innovators within the space, giving a sense of approval causes too many to accept something without doing due diligence.

yeah....they were not hands-on and got taken it seems...so what is the reason to HODL LTC for 2018 now?

Indeed, all alts are looking iffy..it also does not help that a massive dump of scrypt-pow equipment, mainly L3+'s (LTC) are dumping from bitmains forced wait from Dec 15th

to March 15th ... amazing how difficulty doubled since then.....no real equipment in that time...boy..you think maybe GASP the majority of doubling of difficulty was bitmain...

(say it ain't so, Jihan!) ...funny how that seems to be the case...

Bitmain: (found another thing to play rinse/wash/repeat with ..pre-orders for 4 months for an asic dump at that end of that point in time.....evil pays!) (tm: bitmain)

2782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 26, 2018, 10:21:38 PM

Well had to dump 10k worth of mostly LTC and BTC some....panic'd like a small child! (hey, its how I roll)...but mining is drying up and have to pay

for taxes 2017 and set aside for taxes this year (if mining dies for me by august 2018.which is looking possible) thus figured it was time to panic sell for the bills.

the good news is since I did that this am..the market seems to be pumping (I always sell on the low) if this saved you, feel free to give me merit or a tip

I have few superpowers but selling on the low for any cryptop...is my major skill...

2783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 26, 2018, 02:25:17 AM

For those running the sia backbone for storage, how it exists now, how is the interface? Is it working ok?

Anything of note coming to help you guys with this process soon?

Just lurking, not running any of this, just wondering if the interface has improved to at least

toss any comments of note to us NOT doing any of this...just seeing how this part of sia-tech's plan is working (or not so much)

Hi, i run a host for now o er a year. Works without issues.

I heard the GUI sucks (compared to storj) and other user end issues putting it behind ...also did those minerbox's ever ship from last summer or was that a dead end

we need ease of use for newbs like me to set this up for giggles..tried like 3 months ago ..threw up my hands

Ok...I'm kinda new here....this coin has been around since June 2014.....give me a run down on WHY anyone thinks this coin is going anyplace..(feel free to use unicorns and charts)

I just don't see it

especially at current price/status

https://www.worldcoinindex.com/coin/fujicoin

NOT A SLAM ...but tell me WHY I am incorrect in my assumptions...willing to listen..but damn, just can't see it...all I see is quicksand and sinkage.....Sad
2785  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 26, 2018, 02:19:00 AM
yeah

fuck Kobayashi

Seriously is bitcoin ever gonna get past Mt Gox? How can these assholes still have btc? Who the fuck let that happen?  Huh

Yeah, 1.5 billion USD in BTC to dump to get mt. gox out of liquidation ...IMHO that all has to hit this year...I can't see with permission to sell BTC to wrap this up the

liquidators are gonna be doing this into next year...the whole purpose of a liquidation on a bankruptcy is to dump get as much USD as possible and out with your fee...

but they seem to be doing it in the most KLUTZ way possible...so if they dump it all or just plain in a wrong manner ..we could easily be back to 2k btc

so yeah, everything else about mt. gox was a complete cluster why should this part be any different

as stated above, no coins moved from mt. gox recently...but if BTC dumps down to 7k say...I bet we see dumping (it is how he has rolled in the past..dumps on the lows and

makes them lower)

2786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: March 26, 2018, 02:13:58 AM
i dont believe to mining anymore. i get 2,5 month ago and i cant see no profitable for mining...i have 19,5 GH/s D3 shitting mining machine, i shut off 10 days ago

I'm letting mine (2 D3's) mine for a bit yet..but yeah..end of the month it will go from 10c kwh to 12c kwh...so at that point IF I'm losing more on electric than

30 bucks a month..will kill it...I can justify say a 30 buck a month loss ..just on the hope of DASH going up...but not much more than that....(unless price recovers)

so..maybe I can squeak by another month..but that is being generous and using a HODL mentality on price maybe increasing in say 1/2 a year...but that is pretty

much as far as I'm willing to push it at my kwh electric rate of 12c kwh starting april 2018.

More hilarity from the Satoshi Vision conference.  Packed to the rafters with token shills.

https://twitter.com/stopanddecrypt/status/977409418739552257?s=21

gawd awful. This is why I loathe this space Roll Eyes

I'm going to start a conference called "Steve Jobs' Vision". It's going to be all about how Apple has lost it's way, and the NeXT computer was the perfect desktop computer that people should have been using all along.  I'll manufacture about 5 new NeXT computers, and take pre-orders for the rest.

I'm sure Apple enthusiasts will all trash their Macbooks and iPhones and turn out for my conference by the thousands.  Because "hur dur mah vision".  Roll Eyes

This would likely work. This is what all ASIC makers like Bitmain do now. But they take your pre-order money and mine themselves for 4 months..then MAYBE ship them...

(Dec 2017 to March 2018 all orders to regular minions from bitmain now shipping)

now you've done it....your plan above will be followed into this new realm now!...

What is the next likely thing in the crypto world to get LISK above say to above $15?

anything in the near future of note?

or is all this completely dependent on BTC prices and the ups and downs of such?

anyway, what do folk think? down? sideways? up?

thanks

selling mine for $400 now, got 8 available in nyc
People are buying at 400?? I would sell.

Someone needs to start the D3 coin (x11)...only pre-mine an amount of say less than 1% of whatever max coins (my choice 10 million only) and the 1% is escrowed with say

Philipma1957 or Longsnowsm or Maxumark or hell me (Searing) or any others of note and trust on bitcointalk..to act as an umpire..and say a group with of course the Devs

...whomever they may be...

and of course also...trustworthy for development of the coin...but not likely to go 'poof' like many pre-mined coins...with such a setup IMHO.

a fair launch with set time...gentleman start your engines.....after such above is setup correctly... that's as far as I've got...

other than that I got nothing...just a wishing while I look into the bubbles of my tea...

but man, we need a new coin to pump for x11 or it is doorstop city (wait! it is doorstop city already!)

anyway...ignore my hopeless dreams and meandering thoughts

2791  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 24, 2018, 10:24:08 PM
is crypto done??  Huh

Nah. It's just stunned and confused for a little bit. Took a shot in the nuts. Give 'ole Bitcorn a bit to recover and straighten back up.

I'd prognosticate, but the last time that happened, I promised to buy the thread drinks and suck everyone's dick, so... yeah.

this is your picture right?

(somehow I sense this is a trap!)

My money on bear trap.  But it usually is. Wink

I think well see 9.3k sometime tomorrow.

I have to sell BTC and LTC to cover my tax man bills...so yeah...it is pretty much a 'bull trap' IMHO, (I have a real skill for selling at the low...of any flavor crypto)

loading my LTC and BTC wallets on the desktop as we speak..this is usually the 'red flag' for a massive dump in price...just saying

2792  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 24, 2018, 05:23:25 PM
LITECOIN PUMP

LITECOIN PUMP

C'MON, WHO'S WITH ME?

off topic but sure!

(I plan on selling some BTC and LTC for expenses....(tax man) I always sell at the 'low' so be prepared for a pump of both!) (it is how I 'roll')
2793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GARLICOIN - Reddit's Garlic Bread Worshiping Currency on: March 24, 2018, 05:20:05 PM
. This project should undoubtedly interest both investors and ordinary consumers. Thoughtful and clear ideas make it really attractive.

Only if you GPU rig (if mining) has Nvidia cards thou.... Smiley

2794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: March 24, 2018, 05:18:14 PM
Holy crap dash price 370 usd. Bitmain, pls stop selling D3 at least.

heh....selling D3's yet Bitmain is for $550

IF I got one FREE at 12c kWh price for electric....I would not make anything on a D3 unit.

Thus, Bitmain really is (and knows it) selling 'doorstops' direct from the factory!

(don't bother to take them out of the cardboard box...they work better as doorstops if you move them around in the slippery cardboard boxes...FYI)

A repeat show of above will be able to be commented about on the X3 miners ......same doorstop end.....same Bitmain evil.....

rinse/wash/repeat

Yep, D3 is hopeless now.  X3 is in a way fair since it is a bet that monero fails to fork. I am not taking that bet but it seems others are willing.

Well, from what I understand .... the Helium Coin Launch is NOT going to be x11 based, but go with PIVX coin protocol (POS coin)

thus ... unless someone has a coin besides DASH to pump, we are sh*t out of luck now...even on Helium, as a long shot...

2795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: March 24, 2018, 05:08:58 PM
Man, I hear you!!  I have been toying with the idea of picking a few up.  Throw them on a solo pool and roll the dice.

I have no Balls.....however...I know a guy who has too many (just got them) ...unsure what he paid...but with my 'ABOVE LOGIC' (previous above post on this thread)

maybe a 'hedge' for me is to take one off his hands (see previous post calculations) and a hedge for him, in that he may have too many

We are friends...MIGHT give ONE to me, for what he got them for...IF he sees the need for this 'hedge' from his direction

other than that ..it is Bitmain (thus a trap!)

(why do I feel this convoluted logic is simply my way to 'fall off the wagon' (in a small way) back into my ASIC Addiction?

on the other hand ....he is an 'optimistic sort' and got them (unlike me) ...so probably will tell me to 'p*ss off'

hmmmm

you talking bout me Grin

 I may order a 7th

NOPE! (trying to resist temptation!)

On the other hand, the buddy I talk about above has them IN HAND and maybe I could get them more or less what he ordered
them for...I guess it depends on if he thinks he has too many (tummy hurts) and modestly wants to swap one out to me...

all very iffy....(again, I think it is me basically using 'flawed logic' to get an ASIC miner, due to my ASIC addiction...this is just a manner for someone to 'enable' my delusion....)

2796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 23, 2018, 09:28:52 PM
It’s definitely not over but the bounce off $8200 was unexpectedly strong.  I think that may have rocked some bears.

The optimism chart says we will break the downtrend in April.
And the financial downturn during the past two days will not affect this run up?

The correlation between financial markets and bitcoin has grown somewhat but it is still very weak.  Badger for the most part does its own thing.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/so-is-there-a-correlation-between-bitcoin-and-stock-market-yes-but-no

Doesn't look that way.  The SP500 is down 100 points in the last two days.  (That's massive, roughly equivalent to 1000 points on the Dow.)  BTC prices?  Almost no change, either up or down.

I wonder about this. IF the stock market tanks....won't folk have 'less' discretionary money to toss at BTC and cryptos? Would it not just be wash?

2798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: March 23, 2018, 06:46:11 PM
well fire sale on bitmain L3+'s...

I figure with shipping at the $1270....so I figure shipping and customs...call it $1,400 (is that high?)

-$200 buck coupon

$1,200 in that I'm at 50% tax rate (41% with state taxes, soc sec, etc...other 9% I set aside for health insurance..deductable as self-employed ..ie mining)

that makes it $600 in real $$$ not set aside for the tax man and above...

with 25% equip deduction off taxes I know I will pay this year (real $$$ to tax man needed for this....you don't pay in . it don't work)

so $600 -$300 equip deduction off taxes 2018 = $300 is my REAL gamble in $$$ for getting one of these.....hmmmmm

still don't see it as worthwhile..using crypto to purchase...but maybe if I sold some crapy stuff I may die with, that is in the attic, for fiat...it COULD be worth it on a price pump of LTC

because I'm bored and want equipment...

hmmmm..... pondering.....sleeping with the devil (bimain again)

naw...unless I sell some crap maybe..that I likely will die with anyway..from the attic....for those that are getting these...holding crypto (LTC) or not....we need a price pump to keep these

beasties going

past units or future units.....that's the hope anyway...price pump or doorstops by August 2018 is what I figure....hmmmmm

of course being bitmain..and having a 'fire sale' and 'coupons' they likely know something we don't.....(its a trap!)

Bitmain: It is always a trap! (tm bitmain)

hmmmmm

2799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: March 23, 2018, 03:54:39 AM
Just so you all are aware and can have a voice there is a debate on the Slack channel on whether to move to PIVX or follow the DASH codebase. Currently, just about everyone has voted for PIVX. If you feel strongly either way then head over there and voice your opinion.

and i think PIVX codebase is the choice from the community right now,,
also everyone can read the last updates from helium in the link below
https://www.heliumlabs.org/blog/mar-20th-ledgercodeteam
regards

yes, HLM will be based on PIVX and will be POS not POW which means no mining. If you need the 1000 HLM to run a masternode and missed the airdrop (like me) you'll have to pick some up on cryptopia.co.nz when they launch.

Not likely now. Getting a Helium Masternode now,  IMHO, they would have done better as a dash version and POW miners for a bit...just for the cheerleader effect...a LOT (ALL) Bitmain or other x11 units would have mined it...no no hype...etc ..just another POS coin ...

now it is just another PIVX POS coin clone...w/o any fanfare

anyway, just my viewpoint......if I want a masternode I will probably look for the next up and coming coin instead....

anyway, I often wonder what will happen when home miners of any flavor asic/gpu etc goes away....no more cheerleaders....only traders and Hodl'ers ...seems like will be more guiet

indeed on new adoption and promotion

Tried that...they just smile..and pat your hand and ask if you want a nap...it is discouraging
