Hello guys, how do you think. What is coin more private and stealth: Deeponion, XSPEC or ZCASH. What is technology between these coins more modern?
Right now Zcash is more anonymous, hands down. Zcash is based on zk-SNARKs, XSPEC uses ring signatures which are not zero knowledge but are much more efficient. Zcash is slower and requires much more space than the Spectrecoin wallet (at least 2GB of memory for Zcash). You can read more about the downsides of Zcash here: https://www.quora.com/Whats-good-and-bad-about-zcashSpectre being less anonymous comes from the fact that the anonymity set is much smaller currently because very few people use stealth transactions. But this will hopefully change in the future. Deeponion is just a joke lol. They haven't implemented transaction anonymity yet afaik, and the network is partially consisting of public IPs. They're an airdrop exit scheme essentially, large parts of the supply are still held by the devs. DeepOnion is like the little brother of Verge. Great marketing, large community but no technology to back the hype.

The real action is happening on Discord, Twitter is also pretty active again.
Whenever some coin moves the discussion from this forum to Discord, Telegram, etc, it's a sure sign of disaster. Take a look at BLOCK and other examples and don't repeat the mistakes. The Discord community is really thriving though. There are tens of channels, hundreds of users. The community is extremely active, the atmosphere is great. This kind of communication and organization simply wouldn't be possible on a single forum thread like this.

Is it really true that this is the best stealth/anonymous coin? And what advantages does it have against zencash and monero (both of them have been said to be the best at their job)?
I'm asking because price's been really stubborn past few days, honestly, people should be aware of this by now, dev team looks good, software looks good, when will this get the attention it deserves?
You can't really say something like "the best" in this context. There are different approaches that each come with their own advantages and disadvantages. Unfortunately I am not expert enough to tell the advantages/disadvantages of the ring signature implementations used in Monero vs. here. An advantage of Spectre is that all nodes run on the Tor network, so there is some advantage in network privacy (finding out which IPs are running nodes on the network).

Good luck on Wisp Project. I will be watching this project with interest. By the way how are you going to fund this project Wisp please?
We hope to get this running mainly via voluntary contributions ... we are trying to build an environment here that is very collaboration-friendly so that developers can join easily and contribute on demand, whenever they wish. Additionally we will set up a system to offer bounties. For example if you and some other investors want to see a certain feature being implemented (a new website design, binaries for a certain Linux distribution, whatever you like), you can pool your money together and make a feature request via Github. The first (voluntary) developer who creates a pull request that gets merged and fulfills that feature request, will get the bounty. This is the fairest and most decentral way to fund a project - money going directly from the people who want something specific being done, to the person who does it. There are many ways to implement this, maybe via smart contracts, a multi-signature wallet held by a committee, a single person escrow, or simply via individual payments. And thirdly we will maybe also keep the current donation system, which means that the wallet offers an option to donate your stake rewards to a certain address that belongs to a full-time developer for example, or that goes to a multisig wallet. Would you like to get listed on coinnox exchange?
It's not a decentralized exchange, so probably not.

Wisp Project [WISP] LinksOverviewThe Wisp Project is an initiative of Spectrecoin (XSPEC) users who disagree with certain developments happening in the official Spectrecoin client. With the return of the original founder Mandica to Spectrecoin, the development process has turned into a top-down development style directed by Mandica, and different ways of enforcing development fees from Spectrecoin users in order to fund development have been discussed. At the Wisp Project, we believe that a cryptocurrency should be controlled by its users and not by a central authority. For that reason, we have dedicated ourselves to providing an alternative Spectrecoin wallet that features an open decision process and does not force its users to provide funding for development, even though we encourage every user to do so in his or her own interest! We figured that going this path is the most straightforward way to turn our vision of Spectrecoin into reality. There have also been discussions about a possible blockchain fork. If the Spectrecoin team decides to implement a hardfork to enforce development fees via the protocol, the Wisp Project will NOT support that fork, meaning that Wisp and Spectrecoin would split into two independent projects, where Wisp will maintain the original protocol. The ticker for our side of the fork will be [WISP] then. More information will be added as things progress. Since this forum is about altcoins, this thread will remain a "PRE-ANN" until a blockchain fork happens. Update: The Spectrecoin hardfork is scheduled for 21/08/2018, 22:00 GMT! Update: The XSPEC hardfork has happened smoothly. Now Wisp is running on the old Spectrecoin chain, every user who uses a Spectrecoin wallet before version 2.0 (1.4 and older) uses the chain that will be branded as WISP. An official announcement for this coin will follow after a independent Wisp wallet has been created by our volunteer community members. Update: Here is the new ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5039051.0 This thread will be locked, please continue on the new thread. About SpectreCoinPlease refer to the official SpectreCoin ANN for more information about SpectreCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4434053.0Simply put, SpectreCoin is based on the ShadowCash (SDC) codebase. It was started in 2016 with the goal of continuing and extending the idea of (now defunct) ShadowCash. SpectreCoin is a general-purpose privacy-focused cryptocurrency that uses a relatively simple yet sophisticated technique for achieving anonymity, by combining stealth addresses and ring signatures. SpectreCoin was an ICO but raised only a small amount of money, so nowadays other ways of achieving continuous development have to be found. About WispWisp has basically the same goals as SpectreCoin, the main difference is that SpectreCoin has a development fee included (16.6% of all block rewards going to the founder of SpectreCoin), while the Wisp users refuse to pay such a fee. At Wisp we are following the core ideals of Bitcoin and decentralized currencies, which also means rejecting centralized authorities and centralized development processes. We want SpectreCoin to be a top-notch privacy-supporting currency that brings the necessary social, cultural and economic changes to our society. We are advocating diversity and federation, which is one of the reasons why we are making an alternative XSPEC wallet. We're an open community, everybody is welcome to join and start contributing right away. Please check out our Discord (invite link above). RoadmapSince Wisp is not lead by a dedicated team but is a joint effort between community members, there is no fixed roadmap and any suggestion will be considered. Here are some of the points that have been discussed: - Make the Wisp wallet visually different from Spectrecoin (Qt developers welcome!)
- Develop a more robust wallet for Spectrecoin
- Mobile wallet (Android developers welcome!)
- Improvements to the core protocol
- Making a nice website for Wisp
Please ask if there are any further questions, and welcome to the Wisp community!

Hi, do anybody know what "Generated but not accepted" means when Stake transaction is marked by such text? Of course I didn't get staked XSPECs. It happened twice to me so far. I'm running the client on a computer connected by wifi, couldn't it play some role (network latency)? I'm just not happy of this happening.
Thanks.
It's a general phenomenon of Proof-of-Stake. See the last paragraph here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/crypto-intro-guide/wiki/Proof-of-Stake#why-is-my-stake-conflicted-or-not-acceptedIt doesn't have anything to do with your computer or network, there is nothing you can do about it. It just happens.

If I understand correctly, the new wallet (WISP) is under construct by jbg. Is there any other dev except jbg for WISP project?
Yes there are some other people interested in coding, for example "shaybix". But there isn't much to do for them yet. Ok Gandalf. I've got one more question. Why do not you create a separate topic for the wisp project? When will you create a separate BCT topic for wisp and will there inform people about the wisp project? Talking about the wisp project and about the scammer Jbg here makes a bad reputation for the project spectrecoin.
As someone said before, because Wisp doesn't exist yet. There is no own wallet, no own blockchain yet. But we will discuss about making a PRE-ANN, thanks for the suggestion.

Not exactly sure. And interesting observation o the https thing, we've never had that problem running similar software but https everywhere was not tested. Thanks for the heads up! Ok great. I figured that the address above is probably the cold storage wallet of Cryptopia. Btw. please read your DMs! Yobit said that they disabled deposits/withdrawals because the wallet on Github uses outdated code and is insecure. Are you planning to migrate to a recent Bitcoin codebase, or some other codebase? This would be greatly appreciated since some people still have TIT stuck on Yobit And also maintaining the node software is absolutely necessary for a coin to be secure. So sooner or later this would be necessary anyway What are your plans for Titcoin development so far?

gandalf and others from Wisp can only lie or run away from direct questions and not answer
Gandalf I can repeat the question: Why when did Mandica offer assistance in creating wallet 1.4, then Jbg refused the help of another programmer? Although he delayed the release of this wallet for four months and this assistance was needed.
and I suggest that Gandalf answer my question.
Why did Jbg refuse from help other devs that could speed up the release of wallet 1.4, since Jbg made a delay of 4 months?
I am happy to answer your question. To my knowledge, jbg did not refuse any help. So asking for a "why" doesn't make sense. The code for 1.4 was not pushed to Github yet, because it was mixed with stealth staking additions locally and wasn't ready to be pushed at that time. Later it wasn't released because Mandica appeared on the scene and various disagreements happened. Hope that helps. Hi Gandalf86, Is there a forum on Bitcointalk regarding WISP please? or any other info like Web site, discord. I would like to follow this project Thanks,
There will be a Bitcointalk ANN with a wallet download when the fork has been implemented and tested, which is also the time when we can announce the actual fork date. The Discord is linked here: https://github.com/wispproject/doc/wiki

It is a good clarification. Not only Mandica, but also a lot of investors didn't like the progress of the development by jbg. In my opinion, jbg is more like a community manager than a code developer. Which side are you in?
Yes I understand, but quite some work has happened under the hood, and the release notes have been very clear about this. Many people who complained just don't understand programming, or the work effort required for these tasks. On the other hand, not making the work in progress of refactoring the GUI public has been a mistake on jbg's side. And he is clearly not a community manager, haha. He's a developer and has always delivered high quality results so far. I personally don't see jbg being guilty of anything and I don't like the way the project is managed under Mandica, so I'm mainly supporting the Wisp fork. But I'm also available to help people or give general advice on the Spectrecoin Discord (just @mention me if necessary).

Hey I like the Wiki with links to both projects....seems a step in the direction of 'let bygones be bygones' stop whingeing and get on with whatever it is that we all value ... in this case (y)our favourite coin
time for positive inputs and team building
Interesting, which Wiki are you referring to? Can you give a link? Did the developer of Wisp get the money upfront? If yes, why? That's irresponsible and there should have been security measures in place. If the guy is known can't he be sued for running off?
You guys are still mixing things up here ... jbg did not run away, he's still here and is continuing his work under the brand of Wisp. First Mandica paid jbg as a contractor, then later he was donated money by the community so he could continue working on it, which he did. Some people, including Mandica when she came back in February, didn't like the apparently slow progress (which is not the entire truth since many things have been improved under the hood by jbg), so she kicked him out. The community of people who are still supporting jbg are now continuing to work on Wisp, which will be a fork of Spectrecoin. Btw. the previously announced fork date May 1st will probably not happen as this date was rushed without taking into account all things that need to be taken care of. A new date will be announced in time.

Yes, Xlcus Jbg first did the work and he did several updates. But for the last six months he promised to rewrite wallet on another code and implement stealth staking. He received money for these six months, but later refused to provide this job and also did not return this money, which he received for writing wallet v1.4 and stealth staking.
We donated money to jbg so that he could work full-time on it and would not have to have another job in parallel. Overhauling the wallet interface was part of the roadmap, but he didn't finish it before Mandica came back on the scene. Then a lot of fights happened and he is now continuing his work under a different project name. Nobody "paid" him for anything, we donated money to him for his past and current work ... that's a big difference that people seem to get wrong. Ok but there is probably given information about it somewhere or what is the point of announcing it and creating some excitement?
Wisp will be announced when we have the rebranded wallet, repositories and everything set up. In the meantime you can find a short overview here: https://github.com/wispproject/doc/wiki

i have a question
i have download the xspec wallet but where can i get a private key??
The wallet creates a private key for you automatically! Each address listed under Wallet -> Receive has its own private key attached to it internally. Read more about public and private keys here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/crypto-intro-guide/wiki/Bitcoin-basics

Who is holding this address? https://explorer.coinpayments.net/address.php?chain=22&addr=12YBNYmQZNUJCJ8wStZdjWToraKJQHDVZCThat address is holding 13.7 Mio. TIT, which is 27% of the current supply. That is worrying to say the least. In the best case it is exchange cold storage, which would still be problematic. If that address is held by a single person, that's a huge problem. Thanks! I'm getting the following errors: http://imgur.com/rx9o8Zbl.pnghttp://imgur.com/pKZJCXnl.pngApparently the problem is caused by Https Everywhere, which redirects to the HTTPS version of your site. Supporting https should be mandatory nowadays, and it is the only protection against third parties (Tor Exit nodes, proxies, VPNs) inserting malicious Javascript code. So please fix this.

I have written a short overview over Wisp here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/wisp/wikiNone of the two projects are dead. Both are continuing into different directions. Spectre is rather professionally managed, Wisp is community managed. The price went down, but not only for Spectre but for many other coins as well. It's quite common for this time of the year. Don't panic, don't sell. HODL. You are only making losses when you sell at a low price.

The roadmap contains a zero-knowledge proof which is called "Proof of Bryce" (PoB) though, that will allow to see proof of his work (Stealth staking) without actually knowing Bryce. (For those who didn't get it yet, this thread is meant to be satire)
