Oh and here is a new Syscoin article!
thanks for the update of new Syscoin article.

+2 thanks @jdeblunt! Been getting back to coding behind the scenes, focusing on blockmarket. We're working on a standard for marketplace listings within the syscoin collective.

Another valuable development in the growth of Syscoin is we've published an AngularJS plugin that will allow developers utilizing the upcoming v2wallet / 0.1.6 daemon to easily create applications that utilize Syscoin services and integrate with the popular (and Google backed) AngularJS javascript front end framework.

This new component is still in alpha and requires a wallet built from a special branch (https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/tree/devstaging-0.1.6-v2wallet) but its a sign of things to come! Bowser component - https://github.com/syscoin/angular-syscoin this has also been published to the bower repository for developers to use @ 0.1.0.  Smiley

Then we can easily scafold angular apps to get new ui pretty quickly.
https://github.com/sidhujag/syswallet-template

Bingo!  Grin not only the wallet but we can stand up sites for alias explorers, a new block explorer, certificates and all kinds of service-based stuff using this lil kit of libraries we've been building together.

287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: December 29, 2014, 01:00:06 AM
Just a quick update to say that Kitteh won't be going to the wall, and that Dano's moving on from the Kitteh project was anticipated when he took lead of the Syscoin project some while ago. Back then, we had discussions about transitioning the services he administered, and now these plans will be actioned. To the end user, you should see minimal, if any, disruption.

I'd like to welcome on board Esotericizm, who is going to tackle the lack of Android wallet, and complete the difficulty revisions I was unable to fully implement and test myself. Cryptobum remains on board in the background, and rodux will be contributing to media as fast as his job and other life commitments permit. I also hear he's been learning new skills, and I'm sure there will be some exciting developments to come from those, as he hones those new techniques! I'm only sorry I haven't been able to progress some of the wallet issues myself, but my work and personal life have both moved to 105% and I have to share the few hours free time per week much thinner than I ever have before - you just gotta eat and sleep sometimes! I think the same could be said for rodux .. our enthusiasm and passion haven't wavered, we just simply can't devote the precious hours to implement our plans and ideas as fast as we might like!

We are still lacking some publicity and marketing expertise and effort. If anyone would like to come forward, or knows anyone with a few hours to spare, please do come find us in IRC on Freenode (channel #kittehcoin). Although it may seem quiet, there are eyes and ears, and we will get back to you as soon as one of us is able - feel free to idle there. We still see many opportunities for Kitteh, especially in Eastern markets where the Neko and Kitteh emblems have additional cultural significance. These are totally untapped markets to date.

Kitteh won't be on the moon any time soon, but equally we are gonna stick around!

Just wanted to back this up and say it is all very true- talking with veremit and majsta and co. via email about setting up a date to transfer things over, this is just moving things (with as little service interruption as possible) - not the end!

Merry Christmas

Looks like wall little dumped into and guess what, still there. Don't think it's fake, it's filling orders.

In that case Merry Christmas X2   !!!  Cheesy

Whats the word with the lawsuit ?

We are pushing forward! We are working with an official receiver and a liquidator to reclaim the assets lost under the management of Moopay LTD. We have documents clearly outlining how funds were lost- not via a bug. That's really all I can disclose right now but we're happy with how things are moving along legally and have done our very best to refocus our efforts on SYSCOIN DEVELOPMENT.

In that sense I have news! A lot is going on, wish I had something to share regarding the mobile apps but I don't just yet. I can say that progress with blockmarket AND the v2wallet is moving well now that the legal roadblocks are lifting. We are talking to numerous developers (C++) about joining the team or simply helping us with features on a bounty basis, but helping us keep things moving faster nonetheless.

As people know we have moved to Slack for most of our chat communication. The Slack <-> IRC bridge is now up and running! Anything you say in #syscoin on IRC will be sent to the #general channel in Slack, and vice versa. Unfortunately you cannot use the tipbot from Slack, you'll have to hop into IRC for that and being active through the Slack bridge does not make you active for soaks- just letting you know now! This bridge is an experiment, and there are a few wrinkles to iron out already. But the key thing is that the two main hubs of communication for Syscoin are united and IRC is still one of those hubs.

We have been talking to the Stealthcoin team, I think there is a natural fit between our two teams. They provide the anon transactions, we provided the marketplaces that can never be taken down. Seems like a good fit imo! We are focusing on delivering the items in our roadmap- that hasn't changed; but we're also always looking to do bigger, better things with Syscoin. Stealthcoin and the XST team have proved themselves to be experts in crypto and dedicated not only to privacy protection but to the long-term development of Stealthcoin as we are to Syscoin. We plan on talking/working with them a LOT more as we move forward.

Back to working on blockmarket and v2wallet!
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: December 28, 2014, 01:58:22 AM
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

After several months I must now fully move on to my core project - Syscoin. That being the case many properties related to Kittehcoin (Block explorer, main website, forums, blog, etc) are going to be coming down unless a member of the community contacts me and is willing to take over this responsibility.

I am also going to be removing myself from the Kittehcoin github repository and would like the new community lead to take over that as well.

I will be ensuring the key sites continue to operate for the next 10 days, then I will let them expire naturally. Please email me dan@syscoin.org to workout a handoff- I don't want these boxes to just die but I can't keep hosting them.

To who ever takes over, don't change the consensus (algorithm, fundamentals, etc..)  Kittehcoin only needs marketing.  Anything else is just a gimmick that will offer nothing more than a short lived tiny boost in price.

Also, danosphere.  You mind sending me the MEOW you have left? KPPjzVxr2RDmmXruamcMkJQQbuaYbzNeVt
Thank You for the work you did on getting it this far and good luck on Syscoin.

At the moment I hold no Kittehcoin at all, I don't even have the wallet installed anymore to be honest. I divested myself of it while it was still in the 15 satoshi range at a great loss (on a number of levels, least of which being financial). Thanks for the well wishes with Syscoin! Learning from what others had started with Kittehcoin is what led me to be so passionate about doing something new/different aka Syscoin!

And so this shitcoin meets its natural end, as I predicted so long ago. Smiley
I wonder how many noobs have been scammed before the dump? It would be nice if some of them commented.

This coin has been here for months waiting for any dev with the desire to take it wherever they please. Running a coin "for real" is hard. Few/none came. I need to clear my dashboard of the projects of old so I can focus on my primary projects. Kittehcoin isn't the only project of mine impacted by this decision to focus intently on a single project 100%. If anyone was scammed before the dump the team that tried to revive this coin was scammed as much as anyone else. You can see the price I sold most my coins for above, long long ago. Far less than the peak when the scammers/pumpers dumped, at 120satoshi. Yes, I was a bagholder.

Is there a new community lead ?

Bold and giant text my own. This is the big question, many have suggested they would take on this role, none have actually grabbed the reigns, asked for the keys to the boxes, etc. That is why I made the post I did. I am happy to take time to move things to new boxes, transition domain names etc- this includes all social properties such as twitter, reddit, facebook etc.

Will someone(s) in the community step up to take over? Or has kitteh run out of lives? I posted to allow time for a handoff and for Kitteh to live, but if no one cares anymore than just posting lies about petco, then this may go the way of the dodo.

all happening today, bout to pass 150, get in while still dirt cheap, blockmarket and mobile apps coming any day now

Coderboo is alive and wel! He and I speak literally everyday between legal items and dev progress we must keep communication tight. My legal workload had decreased for the time being. I'm back actively working on blockmarket as my primary and also taking to new devs who want to join the team and help.

Funny how we had such a rough start, everyone was calling us a scam and saying we were dead (I think this coin died 3 times according to replies to this thread lol) yet here we are 3 months after launch, unimaginable things have happened regarding our funds and such and we haven't taken that sitting down NOR let that stop us! The mission/vision remains the same. Most altcoins are dead within 45days. I think 2015 is going to be big for SYS. Been talking with XST devs as well. Decentralized markets with anonymous payments anyone? So much is coming. Holidays were awesome and we've still got the new year to celebrate but we're already getting back to work!  Grin

Hope everyone had a great holiday!
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: December 23, 2014, 03:20:05 AM
Legal docs won tonight but Blockmarket alpha is soooo close and should be live internally and for the syscoin-collective to preview sometime tomorrow. I do apologize that its not up tonight but this legal stuff just takes a lot of time. Angry

Point of clarification- some people have asked why we don't hire someone to do this legal doc stuff, or why do we have to do it at all- isn't that what lawyers are for? Kinda. We can't hire third parties because all of this info around the case is highly confidential and sensitive as it relates to a court case, so that option is out (wish we could do that, trust me). The next thing is that lawyers handle the law part, we're are the crypto experts that can provide hard evidence based on the blockchain and other channels which they need to definitively win this case, without that, we have a boat but no engine/paddles. With just our evidence... we have an engine but no boat. We need both to get somewhere.

Even in our documents, we're having to write "Non-Technical Summary" sections to explain in plain terms what has happened, since judges don't understand inputs and outputs, change addresses and how the blockchain can be used to prove or disprove the explanation given by Moopay LTD for the loss of thousands of bitcoin in a matter of less than a month.

The good news is at this point just about all of the evidence docs are completed and the team can get back to focusing on coding. As the community should know by now we also have formed the syscoin-collective to help better manage and communicate project development and status to the community. I MUST complete this legal stuff before tomorrow, our official reciever (winding up process, liquidation of moopay assets) is waiting on these docs to do his job.

I'll make a more substantial post tomorrow updating the community on the barrage of things that have occurred in the last week. There is a lot of positive stuff coming for Syscoin! Also coderboo is with us and will post up this week, he has just been busy with legal - he and I talk daily. Being a crypto expert, he has been very involved in the legal work. The team is working with the syscoin-collective to find a C++ dev to help support development / keep development moving in a predictable way for the period of time that us core guys may be busy with legal. More news on that coming tomorrow.

Also just another reminder, if you aren't in our Slack chat- email dan@syscoin.org to be invited. We are seting up an IRC <-> slackchat bridge so being invited / in a slackchat client won't be REQUIRED, you can use normal IRC in #syscoin; but until the bridge is up, pls email me if interested!
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: December 16, 2014, 05:18:09 AM
Hey,
the sys coin wallet for mac 0.1.5.1 doesn't sync properly and it has a message up the top saying 'warning: displayed transactions may not be correct! you may need to upgrade or other nodes may need to upgrade' as far as I'm aware this is the latest wallet, and it won't sync, 5 days ago is the latest transactions, is there a newer wallet?

Not sure if this will help, but have you tried restarting the wallet? Sometimes these QT wallets just need to reconnect to continue syncing.

yeah tried that, also download new installs of the wallet and tried on 2 different mac os's, I will try deleting the block chain and re download it

before you delete the whole blockchain, try deleting your peers.dat file first. You should also put this in a syscoin.conf file:

addnode=seed.syscoin.tk

If that still doesn't work, deleting the blockchain sounds like the best option.

all sorted, thank for your help sphericon, whats your sys address and I'll chuck some your way

Its odd you needed to do this- did you need to do this on a clean install (you mentioned you tried two macs). Just asking because we would like to fix this and in the code the "old seeder" in 0.1.5 and 0.1.5.1 has been removed so trying to deduce the root cause of the problem. Seed.syscoin.tk is in the client as the first place it looks for peers, maybe something is a amiss there and we will look into it.

Just an update: we're moving Blockmarket Alpha to this weekend Dec 21 due to the Winding Up petition hearing being heard today (Monday). It went positively but due to its outcome we must focus our efforts on the legal work temporarily rather than Blockmarket. In parallel with that the community has been really growing on our Slack group and we're getting PM and PR people officially in place to help keep things moving while we ensure legal is handled properly. More updates to come just wanted to let people know there is a lot going on.

If you want to join our Slack group before we have it all bridged with IRC email dan@syscoin.org for an invite! Its troll-free chat and its improving every day!

Hi everyone,

I've added Syscoin to my Blockchain-Explorer:

https://bchain.info/SYS/

Comes with a richlist:

https://bchain.info/SYS/rich

And a mining calc:

https://bchain.info/SYS/tools/calculator

Have fun with it!

Very Nice!

My Husband finished the Chinese translation of the Website so will send it soon in email as well.. Smiley
your Husband  is so nice, and what about his btt account?

Just got the translation and thank you! We're looking at proper website internationalization/localization plugins so that we can do the different versions of the website right. We are looking for another native chinese speaking person to verify the translation. Its available here for verification: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rShApN0EY8UxnV54oMC1aCgtLUobSGtuaPQKHflghbA/edit?usp=sharing

It's broken down by page (look at the top). Once verified we can release the bounty Cheesy

Been working on Blockmarket Alpha trying our best to get it ready so we can release it tomorrow night at least in alpha form. Additionally we are waiting for feedback from the developer on the Android wallet (still) will have a hard date within 24hrs I'm told.

In addition to those items we're working on consolidating our chat channels and are giving Slack a try. We'll setup a bot to make sure it talks with IRC but now that there are so many community members looking to help we have a rather fragmented chat system between IRC, Skype and Google Hangouts so Slack should help there. Also we are putting TWO proper PMs in place to help keep things moving and people informed- the PMs are opposite-each-other timezone wise which should give us good coverage 24/7. More to come!

Did the android wallet ever get released? I wanna put some sys on my phone.

from what i have been hearing, it is complete but they are waiting for ios certfication so that both can be released at the same time.

Hey sorry I've been a bit MIA the past few days we've been busy with some internal stuff and at the same time we've had a wave of new people coming on board to help out which is awesome! We want to make sure that communication and work being done by this larger communal team (The Syscoin Foundation as we've been callin it) is clear to all involved and also is still being communicated to the outside world.

We're still working on Blockmarket Beta and Syscoin wallet V2 as well- I still have to update the roadmap page and the version number on the SYS homepage. I need to talk to a teammate re: mobile wallets for a more concrete update there.

I'll post up with more news this weekend its just been a busy week. Also there was a rumor that coderboo is no longer working on Syscoin? That's false. I work with him actually daily on Syscoin related topics he just hasn't been posting as much because unfortunately legal work does take up time and energy and is one of those things we "can't talk about"; that aside he is still very active, and like me would like to get back to focusing on Syscoin code-level work.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: December 07, 2014, 10:17:20 PM
Thanks for the continued support we will update with the progress that's been made over the past week and the testing of new features. Sundays are always an 'update' day for the syscoin team, as for the comments in relation to ' don't give up ' etc they won't be addressed as we have stated a thousand times within this thread, no one is giving up.

Thanks all, speak soon.

Excellent statement Michael. We just released Syscoin 0.1.5.1 last week- what on earth makes people think we are giving up? We're growing, we're getting more community involved, no one is giving up. Core dev members have been stuck doing things required for our legal battle and to that end we appreciate the community devs who've stepped up to help.

The team will be publishing the results of that work this week- we created a purpose-built tool to analyze the Syscoin Escrow ledger transactions and "follow the coin" to determine if the fund loss was truly due to a "bug which allowed users to double withdrawal their actual balance" or not. I feel the community will find the results of this analysis very "telling". We will wait until a third part expert has verified the analysis before making it public. It has taken a lot of work, but it is a critical piece of evidence supporting our claim that the funds were not lost due to a bug.

The Android app is due to be released today- remember this is an app that was rewritten from the ground up by a professional Android dev and not just a reused version of the same template you see everywhere else. This should be ready to go today, we are getting in touch with the dev to verify its ready, test all the functionality ourselves and then release it to the public here and via the Google Play store. If there are any issues with that we'll let you know!

Winding up hearing is tomorrow too (in court)! We are busy as hell! Also I'm lovin the discussion going on re: ratings system using SYS data service! Keep the evolution going! I'll join the fray soon as my forensic report is completed  Grin

Anyone know why the Syscoin wallet is disabled on Bittrex?

I was ass-u-me'ing it was because they are updating their wallet. Maybe not though, someone else prlly knows more.

This is true, they were on an old wallet (0.1.4c I believe) and have now updated, but they're having issues with their client not fully syncing. I'm working with Richie on this in IRC it will be resolved shortly. I was unable to recreate any syncing problems but we'll still make sure Bittrex is able to get up and running right ASAP.
