Do you think crypto will be the future for payments in space ?

How will they pay people long distance ... from planet A to planet B ?

At the moment it seems very unrealistic to have humans life on another planet. Maybe in a hundred years it will look different but even if we could fly to Mars and back, the first people going there would be astronauts and scientists. We just started with commercial space flights for the super rich. The flights are short and of course all inclusive. When it ever comes to inter planetary travel we will probably see similar setups, you have to pay all costs before on earth. And if there was a need to send money to another planet the information would be send with light signals, it's the fastest way.
2802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Initiation. on: October 17, 2021, 07:12:16 PM
I've been into crypto not for very long but most of the businesses I'm witnessing are related to gambling and what have you noticed.

Do you think uncensored gambling is better for crypto as a whole?, or it's retarded already and will mess with the image of cryptocurrencies., just like some DTs messing this forum.

You're welcome (wood and moon)

I wouldn't say so, you are right that many casinos use crypto currencies these days. But there is also a lot of other businesses who use crypto currencies as a way of payment and investors who use it as form to invest or just to store money outside of the FIAT money system. Cryptos are a fast and easy way to deposit money and withdraw it from casinos. There might be a small boost coming from the gambling industry, but saying that it is all because of gambling is wrong. If there were no online casinos and no gambling I believe that there still were a lot of people invested in cryptos. The bad image of cryptos doesn't come from gambling, it rather comes from criminals who steal cryptos or misuse them to launder money. Gambling is just a form of hobby for most of us. If you like gambling in pyhsical casinos before and switched to online gambling because of the pandemic I would say that it is normal and nothing bad about it. And if you never gambled in your life and are just here for the crypto currencies that it is good too, no reason to start gambling now just because you own some cryptos.
2803  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitage trading on: October 17, 2021, 07:40:25 AM
I saw an opportunity to make a profit by arbitrage trading. The price difference in some exchanges seems like it could make a profit. I'm just thinking, not sure. does it could really make any difference because if any transaction takes more time then any trader will lose the initial money.
I saw many youtube videos saying that anyone could make money from this type of trading. Need suggestions from professionals. Smiley

I am not a professional crypto trader, but I worked with stock trading in the past and tried myself with arbitrage trading in the past. There are 3 points that caused problems for me and ended up not being so profitable. First of all, we need to take fees into account, since we have to buy and sell at the same time we have to pay fees twice. Secondly, how fast can we react to the arbitrage opportunity? Arbitrage is an inefficiency of the market and will only be around for a very short time. There are other traders looking for the same thing and might react faster. Or it was just an error by the seller or buyer and they quickly cancel their order again. And the last issue I faced was how reliable the trade actually is. I was in a situation where I saw cheap bitcoins bought them instantly and sold them again, just to find out that the buy trade was not being fullfilled and I was left hanging with a sell order. Nonetheless there are arbitrage opportunities that can turn a profit.
2804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learn to laugh even if Bitcoin is crashing on: October 17, 2021, 07:28:29 AM
A crash in the bitcoin market would be disastrous at first because it would trigger a world wide sell off in the alt coin market as well. Investors would likely lose confidence in all crypto currencies. But we have seen this in the past and know that it is only temporary. Bitcoins like most other asset classes move in cycles and it is just a matter of time for prices to bounce back. Taking a loss with some Humor is a good idea. We shouldn't worry so much about short term losses as long as we make money in the long run. A crash also has some positive things, it gives us a good price to buy new bitcoins. A panic sell is usually when a lot of investors want to sell and don't care about the price. It's the perfect time to get cheap bitcoins.
2805  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent inflation or "just temporary" on: October 17, 2021, 07:17:54 AM
A few leaders of OCDE countries are speaking wishfully about inflation, stating that this is just "a temporary peak". However this may or may not be the case. Even the people with best information (CEOs of large companies and perhaps some ministers) are unclear about how long do we have to endure inflation.

My translation for this is "we do not know if we can effectively pass the burden of all the money we printed onto the labour or the salaries will rise paving way for sustained high inflation in two years".

Inflation is the favourite tool of countries with high debt levels. Instead of looking for ways to save money or cut down on government spending, you can just make the current money less valuable through inflation. This makes your debt also less valuable and easier to be repayed in the future. An inflation target of 2% is a good way for countries to not end up in downward spiral of excess debt. But staying above this target for too long is not good for the investors and people with some form of savings. Eventually inflation has to come down again. I don't think we will see higher inflation in the next few years. The pressure is already rising on the government to start raising interest rates again. Also commodity prices tend to move in cycles, it's just a matter of time for energy prices to stabilise again.
2806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm sure altcoins will pump if we hold long on: October 16, 2021, 08:38:34 AM
I agree with you, HODL is still the best strategy for the average investors. Sure skilled traders will make bigger profits, but if we just hold good crypto currencies than we will profit if their long term price increases. Both for alt coins and bitcoins HODL became my favourite strategy. You don't have to stay up to date to the market every day. As long as we can identify the big bear and bull markets we are fine. For me crypto currencies are like a savings account, if I have spare money I will add it to my portfolio and only if I really need the money I would consider selling some crypts again into fiat money. There is a difference between people who only look at crypto currencies as a way to make some quick money, and people who actually believe in it and think that it will be the future of money and how we send and receive money.

Freut mich dass wieder mehr los ist hier im deutschen Forum.

Viel Glück an Alle.
2808  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Now the price is bullish on: October 16, 2021, 08:10:52 AM
Sounds like you really believe that the bear market is around the corner. Did you sell all your cryptos into stable coins already? In my opinion we are not close to a bear market. The opinion towards cryptos is still positive from many investors. Why should all these investors lose their confidence quickly? A big factor behind the current bear market is the rising inflation. Investors are lacking investment opportunities. Cash and bonds are a no go, the low interest rates makes them obsolete to hold. The only real alternatives are stocks, commodities and cryptos. Since stocks and commodities are close to their ATH the only real opportunities are in the crypto market right now. I am not taking any profit thus year. As long as I have fiat money I will always use that first to pay bills and other things.
2809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: October 16, 2021, 08:08:30 AM
I only played a few times crypto lotteries and never won anything. Maybe I am not a lucky guy when it comes to lotteries or I just didn't play long enough. For me normal lotteries and crypto lotteries are the same, I didn't win with either of them. We all know that the chances of winning are very small but somehow my brain keeps telling to try atleast because this time I am going to win. In the end its just day dreaming. Another thing I don't like so much about lotteries is that the winning probability is so abstract. When playing dice or roulette we instantly know what our chances of winning are. And with casino games we can easily stop when making a profit, whereas with lotteries it is just a win or lose situation.
2810  Economy / Economics / Re: Simple reason why crypto is preferred over fiats on: October 16, 2021, 08:03:25 AM
In general I agree with you on the advantages of crypto currencies, but there are still some issues which can be a big problem with cryptos compared to fiat money. The problem with volality is usually not so big for investors because like you said in general cryptos are rising and long term we make a profit from the volality. But short term this volality can be a problem. If we only get money in cryptos at fixed times, like our salary once every month. But our expenses are everyday, then big price changes can turn into a loss for us. Not all stores accept cryptos yet, for example when buying groceries we still have to convert our cryptos back to fiat money. Bigger short term price fluctuations can result in a loss for the consumer. That is why it is so important that more stores and companies will accept crypto currencies on the future.

2812  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before getting into trading on: October 12, 2021, 07:23:05 AM
When one first enters the trading game, it is most often challenging to know how to prepare for it. Even if it is an appealing approach to increase profit, it would not be as fruitful as one may imagine without a fundamental understanding of the basics and a few preparations.
How should one prepare before getting into trading?

The most important thing when it comes to trading is to know how much we can lose. Risk management is one of my main focuses in trading and investing. It is much harder to make money than to lose it again. One bad trade could potentially eat away all our previous profits. That is why I think setting budgets is so important. Using all our money in one trade is to risky in my opinion. Diversification is very good for beginners, if instead of doing 1 trade we split our money into 5 different trades we are more protected. The chances of 5 trades turning sour is smaller. The second focus should be to have reasonable goals in trading. Smaller gains in the beginning can help build a portfolio.
2813  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: October 12, 2021, 07:10:19 AM
Really hoping for a new ATH this year. It would be the perfect Christmas gift for all of us here. In my opinion the chances of seeing a new ATH are pretty good. We have seen a strong recovery over the last several weeks. Bitcoins became so mainstream this year, everybody heard of it and news are still very interested. All it takes is one big positive news to kick off a new rally. If we had some more large companies announcing to accept and move into crypto currencies then we should see a price jump. Personally I never really thought about selling my coins this year. Like me there are more and more strong believers in bitcoins. My goal for bitcoins next year is 100,000 USD. We just need to believe.

2815  Other / Off-topic / Re: BattleBots : Is This Another Form of Sports? on: October 11, 2021, 10:41:24 AM

And my questions are:-
  • Have you seen this game before?
  • Do you consider this another form of sports?
  • How would you like it if our betting/gambling sites integrate this game so we can bet on them?

Yes I have seen this before, it must have been like 15-20 years ago when a similar show was on TV. As a kid this was awesome to watch. Wasn't even aware that it got revived. It is definitely a sport, like model race cars or planes, just in a PvP. Betting could be fun on it if there is enough competition. Just by quickly googling I saw that there are a lot of people following the sports. It seems that Battlebots is the most popular robotic combat sport in the world. The only question I had is how to make appropriate odds for the matches and make sure everything is fair. The cost for a battlebot range from 100 to 10,000 USD, there can be a big gap in the bots, maybe a fixed budget would be better.
2816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think on: October 11, 2021, 09:02:09 AM
I fellas I have two questions to ask crypto experts and investors in this forum today

1. Is this a good time to build crypto portfolio?
2. Do you really think that bear market will be a dipping as 2018?

Now that crypto is gaining more investors day by day and crypto adoption is increasing massively I don't think that the next bear market will be crazily low like 2018/2019, what do you think?

To make it easy:

1. Yes
2. No

I think it's a good time to buy crypto currencies at the moment because inflation is rising and I don't want to be stuck on fiat money without getting any return. The problem is that saving money at the bank doesn't work anymore. Inflation and Bank fees will slowly eat away all the value of our saving account. Same goes for bonds, the low interest rates doesn't make it attractive anymore to buy them.  The only option to escape inflation is to invest in stocks, funds or cryptos. I don't want to make investment managers rich, so I don't buy funds. And stocks is already part of my retirement fund. To diversify money the only real option is to keep buying crypto currencies in my opinion.
2817  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need to learn techincal Analysis? on: October 11, 2021, 08:26:27 AM
I invested in cryptocurrency in March of this year for Experimental. What I understand is that you should not invest only by reading the post or by searching Google. I should learn market analysis. Or there is another way to understand the market?

There are two ways to analyse the market and your investment. The first one is fundemental analysis. It's a foreward looking analysis that tries to look at how strong a coin is today and what opportunities there will be in the future. This is probably what you did in the past, reading news here on the forum or on Google. The second type of analysis is technical. Here people look at the past trading data and try to find a trend that will continue in the future. Both types of analysis have its pro and cons, we can't say that technical is always better. I used it myself regularly in the past and a good way to start using it is by looking at moving averages. It's the average price over a fixed period of time. So you can look at the 90 day moving average and compare it to the 10 day or 30 day average. Like this you will see a rising (short term average higher than the long term one) trend, or the opposite a falling trend.
2818  Economy / Economics / Re: How has inflation affected your savings and investing? on: October 11, 2021, 08:12:57 AM

Have you had to cut down on your expenses so as to maintain the percentage of your income you allocate to savings & investing?, Or you have adjusted the percentage for savings and investing so as to accommodate and maintain your standard of living?

For me the biggest pressure on spending came from the corona crisis. I was very scared in the beginning to lose my job and be unable to pay back my loans. The first step was to not go on vacation anymore. Both this and last year I was away less than 10 days in total and usually only visiting family for 1-2 days. The inflation just made everything worse. Inflation rates of above 2% make saving useless because interest rates are so low. At the beginning of corona I had around 50% in short term high liquidity assets to be able to cover any income losses. But now with the end of the corona crisis insight I am trying to invest 90% of my money. What I bought in the last 6 months to escape inflation was crypto currencies, stock index funds and a real estate fund.
2819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 10, 2021, 08:12:52 PM
I fell in love with poker when the whole Texas Hold'em craze started around 2003-4ish range.  I was in college at the time and man we played every single night for months on end.  Bought a chip set as well which I still have.  Unfortunately I haven't been playing as much as I'd like to lately, but plan to start getting in to playing more soon.  I'm just curious what kind of strategies you guys employ when playing?  I know there aren't a ton of tricks one can use, but there are some out there.  I guess there's also a big difference when you're playing in person ( bluffing strategies ) vs playing online.  I'd like to hear tips/tricks/strategies for both!

I started like you with poker back in the days during the first poker hype. In the beginning I only watched on TV and played offline poker. During the Full Tilt times I started to look into online poker and had a lot of fun with it. Especially during university I played a lot of cash games online. The strategy for online was completely different to my offline poker strategy. When I play with friends it is more about having fun than making money, that is why I try to bluff much more my friends. It is so much fun to get a friend off a good hand just to turn over your cards and show him 27 off suited. When playing online poker it is all about winning for me and making some money. That is why I try to bluff as little as possible, only when it is necessary and I have a good blocking hand to actually bluff. A good bluffing strategy is when holding the Ace or King of a potential flush on the turn or river. Knowing that you block the nuts makes it much easier to bluff.
2820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Idea] Cryptocurrency that rewards users for transacting - thoughts? on: October 10, 2021, 07:19:07 AM
This sounds like a good idea. Giving away perks and bonuses for consumers and users of your coin sounds like the next big step in the evolution of crypto currencies. We already have so many different alt coins out there that having a new format to distinguish yourself from the competition is needed. In traditional finance such cash back reward system have been in place for a very long time. Accumulating points and using vouchers for more points which eventually can be exchanged for prices are very popular. Banks, casinos, airlines, super markets, gas stations, restaurants, almost every sector is using it, so why not the crypto sector? Its a new form of marketing strategy than should attract many new users.
