1861  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin will always remain the best choice on: September 05, 2022, 02:39:50 PM
I agree with your chart, bitcoin offers a lot of advantages over gold and fiat money. Without a trust worthy government standing behind the fiat currencies they become worthless, and even than can it happen that a crisis will ruin the currency of a country. Politicians have too much power on the monetary policy of a country. For example, years of saving money can disappear in a few month if the government decides to print more money. The best solution for us is to diversify and invest in other assets outside of the governments reach, like crypto currencies. And Gold doesn't fit into today's world anymore, everything is about digital movement and removing of borders. Having tangible assets like gold that are hard to store don't fit into that anymore.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: September 05, 2022, 06:59:33 AM
I confess, this type of article content is something relevant and that it can help many people today...

But I keep asking myself, can a self-exclusion system really be extremely useful today?
Have some types of tests been carried out on this system? Is it really viable?

I am not sure if self-exclusion is really going to work long term. My own experiences with gambling addiction is very limited, I had nights in the past where it was hard to stop but these are very rare and don't continue for several days. What I do know from my own experience is how hard it is to stop smoking. During a day when you feel good it's no problem to control your own actions and stay away from cigarettes. Everything changes when you start drinking some alcohol and are among people who smoke. I think that this is very similar to a gambling addiction, when you are with friends who are talking about gambling or who want to gamble in front of you. Self-exclusion can help in some instances if there is no work around, where people can cheat themselves. The problem is that casinos are so easy to access and even if you try to take yourself out of the equation and press the panic button from your regular casino, so that you can't log in in the next 30 days. You could just make a new account at a different casino.
1863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some say Bitcoin is dead but Bitcoin is not dead on: September 05, 2022, 06:37:07 AM
Bitcoin is not dead and won’t be dead because Bitcoin is a very robust network. It is probably impossible to destroy Bitcoin.
People saying about Bitcoin, it would be dead are very often spreading Altcoin lies – please don’t fall for such lies.
HODL your Bitcoin.

I fully agree with you, holding our precious coins during these volatile times is the best thing we can do. The bitcoin price dropped recently again below 20,000 USD making a lot of investors nervous. We can't change the short term price and shouldn't worry so much about it. Giving into the selling pressure will only make things worth, long term bitcoins is going to rise again. I am not sure why so many people want to argue that Bitcoin is dead, the price dropped 50% since the start of they year, but so did some stocks as well. It's not like crypto currencies being the only currency that lost a lot of value this year. And there are so many strong believers in the crypto community that bitcoins will never die. As long as there are a handful of people who are willing to accept and deal in bitcoins, the network will keep on living.
1864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I not lose money in trading cryptocurrency? on: September 03, 2022, 02:13:14 PM
The easiest way to not lose money in trading is to never sell your positions. If you keep your red positions and hold out until they recover you never realise a loss. This is of course not practical or a smart way to trade crypto currencies. The main problem is that maybe a coin is a bad investment and will never recover for you to make a profit. In that case it makes sense to take the hit and reinvest into a much more promising project.  In my opinion it shouldn't be your goal to avoid losses in trading, because in many cases it can't be prevented. Look at the bear market we have this year, all coins fell in value. You would have lost money with any investment. Even switching out of cryptos and into stocks wouldn't have helped to avoid a loss. The only alternative was selling everything and stay in cash, but that is a bad idea because of the high inflation. Taking a loss from time to time is okay and doesn't even has to hurt us if we get a tax credit for it.
1865  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: September 03, 2022, 01:49:30 PM
If monopoly is added for betting then it will be interesting, but if we play for fake money then it will not spur challenge and just normal game. I have searched for the keyword Monolopy betting has been added to several casino sites but some of the games have been combined, so it doesn't look like the usual monopoly game. But the monopoly game might be worth adding to the popular casinos because the game is famous all over the world and the casino just needs to update the game concept to be more interesting and provide some challenges for the players.

Monopoly was one of my favourite games when growing up, right after Risk it was probably the second most played game at home. My niece and nephew are now in the age to play monopoly and I will probably gift them the newest version at christmas. Having a monopoly game at casino could be cool, if there are enough players for a full game. For me it'a bit boring to only play with 1 or 2 other people. The large casinos with a high number of regulars could pull it off to get full games. Another good thing about Monopoly is that everybody knows the rules and has played it before. The casino could be the bank and take a small fee for providing the infrastructure to play and then players could buy in for their start money and cash out after the game is done. If casinos add board games to their games it could be nice to add a broader range of games like Settlers of Catan or Risk.
1866  Economy / Economics / Re: Education on: September 03, 2022, 01:14:58 PM
The typical human mind initially considers the fictitious drawbacks and rejects the possibility of another type of money. However, a growing number of individuals are visiting exchanges like Binance, Primexbt, Kraken, etc. People are afraid because they were taught to be afraid as child. This is, unfortunately, what the educational system does.

I am also a victim. Wish I had joined this forum earlier.

I don't think that it's the educational system fault to be afraid, it is more part of human nature to be afraid of the unknown. As kids we are confronted with the new things all the time, and some seem scarier than others, requiring a lot of effort to conquer the fear within us and to give it a try. We all know this little voice in our head to be cautious when it comes to trying something for the first time. The funny thing is that once we gave it a try the chances are high we are going to enjoy it and it becomes hard to imagine a time when we are afraid. The same goes for crypto currencies, people tend to be afraid without ever really giving them a chance. It's good that you are here now on the forum, don't think too much about what could have happened if you joined the crypto community earlier. There will always be situation like that in life where you wish you could change the past.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 03, 2022, 12:51:58 PM

Just look at how far NaVi and FaZe are ahead of the rest of the teams. This is an unbelievable dominance. Only two teams are owning the whole game in almost every tournament. The only tournament we saw a different champion in was IEM Dallas as far as I can remember. Cloud9 won that. To tell the truth I'm enjoying all of the series between NaVi and FaZe in finals. But after a point this can start making people bored. Because we are already seeing the same teams winning every tournament.

It's true both NaVi and FaZe are on a completely different level at the moment, the two teams work so well to together and execute their strategies without any big mistakes. Was a really big surprise for Endpoint to win 2-0 against NaVi, after losing their two previous matches. It's still group stage so these games don't count for much yet and NaVi might have been holding back. The ancient pick by Endpoint was funny to see, I didn't expected them to let NaVi only get 7, that was a very strong performance. Luckily I didn't bet on the match because I would have put my money on NaVi as always.  Today NaVi is playing against Vitality which should be a good win for NaVi. After their last loss they will try harder today to make sure the finish at the top of the group. Same for NaVi vs NiP tomorrow, should be a win for NaVi. More interesting is going to be the match between Team Spirit and Vitality tomorrow, I would probably go with Vitality for that one.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: September 03, 2022, 12:10:09 PM

🗝️🗝️ Rich people are eager to learn but the poor people are not eager to learn. Most millionaires in the United States were not born millionaires, they learnt how to build wealth. The more they learn, the more they understand the world. 🗝️🗝️

I am not so sure about this one. It is true that money can buy a better education than you will able to get from the public school and university system. Having the best teachers and support is one thing, you still need to bring in the effort and motivation to actually learn. For someone born into a rich family who already has everything it's very different to someone who has to work if he wants to get far in life. I agree with you that there is a difference in general education and learning how to invest money and how to become financially independent. There are good books like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" which help a lot to get a different perspective and a more wealth focused mindset. The important thing in my opinion is to save money each month and invest it cleverly. Like you wrote, rich people like to invest instead of consuming today. If you can delay your consumption in the future to take it out of the interest and profit you get from your investment it's much more sustainable for long term wealth growth.
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 03, 2022, 12:04:51 PM

Now, this would be something of a thread where users can give tips as to how we play online/offline without our family knowing it. Curious how you do it.

My wife suspected me for almost a year already when I was watching a UFC channel on youtube where they suggest who to bet. Of course, I said No when she asked if I was betting. From then on I just hold my phone whenever she is not around. It's a long argument when your wife suggests buying this or that on amazon yet you gambling your funds. lol

That is a though question, one side I understand your desire for gambling and think that in any relationship people need to have some personal time to take care of themselves. On the other side is the big issue of lying to your spouse over such a long time. A few white lies don't hurt anybody, but lying about gambling for more than a year is a big deal and can ruin your relationship. I have been in a similar situation where I was trying to hide my gambling activity from my sister, we are pretty close and she uses my tabled and PC regularly. The first thing I did to change the name and the icons of all the poker Apps I use. Now the only like some random games I like to play and she would never open them and don't thinks about them twice. On my phone I use a separate browser for only gambling and sports betting. Important is also to turn of the keyboard memory function so it won't autocomplete in all the betting words.
1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be worth zero? on: September 03, 2022, 08:07:38 AM
But what would happen if the oldest and most valuable asset on the market, Bitcoin, dropped to zero?

I don't think there is any realistic chance for bitcoin to ever reach the value of 0 USD. Right now BTC is around 20,000 USD, going down to 0  from such high levels would never happen. As soon as there would be a decline of the bitcoin price to 10,000 USD investors would start buying heavily again. Same goes for the 1,000 USD barrier. Who wouldn't sell everything he has to buy bitcoin below 1,000 USD. I am sure at such low levels investors would take out loans just to buy more coins. The only chance I see for bitcoin drop so low in price would be if there were technical errors at the exchange and they show wrong prices.
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: Germans are looking to firewood for energy as natural gas prices soar on: August 31, 2022, 06:41:01 AM
This winter is going to be very difficult in Germany. Even though the gas tanks are almost full again, things are looking very bad for the average household this year. Just this morning I read that the energy suppliers expect 15-20% of the household not be able to pay their energy bills this year. Buying firewood seems like one solution for some families, because many houses have a fireplace inside. In modern houses a fireplace is not so common anymore and usually is only built in for design and optics and not really to be used to heat homes. In older houses, especially from the 1950-80s it was very common to have a fireplace even in the smallest flats. Many of them have not been used for years, but they are fully functional as they need to be checked yearly in Germany. I know this from my friends that most of them never once used their fireplace and usually don't even have wood at home, rather put a candle inside or some fake fire lights. Firewood got very expensive now if you buy it in the store, an alternative is to buy it locally from a forrest when they cut down trees. The problem is that the wood will be wet and it needs to be stored and dried for a few months before being able to use it. But if you have space to store it then now is a good time to stock up for the winter. The only good thing this year could be if it will be a warm winter without snow.
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 31, 2022, 06:03:36 AM
The group stage of ESL Pro league season 16 started today and will go for the next 3.5 weeks, with the playoffs being in the last week of September. A lot of interesting matches are already happening this week. During the first weeks of big tournaments I am looking for more save bets to build up my bankroll again for some larger bets ahead of the finals. Today NaVi is playing against Team Spirit and tomorrow Fnatic, both of the matches should be an easy win for NaVi. Also today is playing NiP vs Fnatic, I really like NiP this year and think they will pull through easily. And then tomorrow NiP is playing against Vitality, which is going to be a very close match that could go either way. I am going to stick with NiP for the two matches. Overall FaZe Clan is a big favourite to win the tournament together with NaVi, and their upcoming games look like an easy win against some teams.
1873  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: August 30, 2022, 03:23:53 PM
Till now it still surprise me seing some gamblers not knowing their limitations and place caution for adequate moderation where applicable, how can you send a referral link of a casino to a family member or friend whom you know does not have passion for gambling, some are really to be blame of the consequences to their wrong action or moves, while for those that could not but fo this referral of a thing then they should first seek consent before sending, meanwhile i want to believe many of the referral system less function to expectations at the end, everything resulted to wasted efforts in some cases.

I agree with you that we should be more careful among family and close friends when it comes to sharing referral links. We should already have an idea before if someone is interested in gambling or not. Inviting some to gamble when they have no passion for it can have a negative impact on our relationships. There is another issue with referring family members, because it gives you insight into their gambling habits. Usually you receive a percentage of the amount your referrals gamble, so you will have a rough idea how much your family deposits and uses for their bets. In my country it's not really common to talk about gambling in detail  within the family. My family knows that I like gambling but not how much each month, only my close friends really know how regularly I gamble. To be honest it makes me a bit uncomfortable imagining that my family would know everything. It's better to make sure the people you send the referral link to are really into gambling and are looking for a new casino.
1874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dip, Dipper, Dippest on: August 30, 2022, 02:55:33 PM
There are a few reasons why the reasons why the bitcoin price is not more steady. The first reason is that we still live in very uncertain times right now. The Russia Ukraine war is still raging with no end in sight, the USA and China relations are at a lowest over the Taiwan issues, and global economic growth is not picking up again. All these issues make investors worried and losing trust in crypto currencies. Another factor is the high inflation which finally forced central banks to increase interest rates now. Now banks are starting to offer interest on saving accounts again and fixed income products become more attractive. For HODL investors nothing really changed, but for short term investors they feel like making higher returns in other asset classes.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots and Crash Game version Football. on: August 30, 2022, 07:07:50 AM
It's only a few months left till the worldcup in Qatar. Good for the casinos to profit of it and include it in their games. Football is the number followed sport in the world and all the major tournaments are huge events. So far I haven't seen these crash games focused on football and wonder now if this is only a gimmick with a new layout, or does this have some sports betting included in the games? Like will events during the game affect the multipliers and crash chances? In the past I played my fair share of crash games, but completely stopped now. It's very interactive but made me a bit angry when the game crashed way too early. Somehow I always try to look for a pattern in the crash behaviour when it's obviously completely random. Dice seems like a better game for me, unfortunately there is not much chances to combine that with the football worldcup.

1877  Economy / Economics / Re: Do cash control spending more than digital or crypto currency? on: August 29, 2022, 09:44:59 AM
There are pros and cons to using cash that everybody needs to decide for himself. I don't think we can say that cash or digital currencies are better than the other. The major benefit of using cash is that you can't go into overdraft. When you always pay by card it can happen that you spend more money that you actually have and the bank will charge a lot of interest for that. The biggest disadvantages of cash is that you carry large sums of it with you and it becomes much easier for people to steal it from you. Especially in big tourist destinations pickpocketing is an issue and ruin a whole vacation. Another thing I learned myself this year that converting cash into another currency is getting much better rates than from a bank account. I could have saved atleast 100 USD if I had taken cash with me to my last vacation instead of only credit card. First there was a bank fee for every withdrawal and then there are worse conversion rates than I could have gotten with cash.
1878  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some Crazy Fun Facts About Casinos And Gambling You Might Not Know. on: August 29, 2022, 09:10:59 AM
Question:
which of this casinos and gambling facts do you find most funny, amazing or surprising?
Lets discuss...

That was a nice read through your gambling facts, even if I knew some of them before it's a funny summary. The fact that made me laugh the most is about the Earl of Sandwich, I had no idea that there was royalty in England with the name of sandwich  Cheesy and even a city with name of Sandwich. Now I wonder if sandwiches taste much different over there. And even today people like eating sandwiches while at work or doing other things. It's the perfect snack in between. In my home town casino there is a nice restaurant inside, so you can enjoy more fancy food while gambling. It's quite common to see people at the poker table to eat a nice piece of tuna or salmon.
1879  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1 - The copycat epidemic within crypto casinos. on: August 29, 2022, 08:26:19 AM
Welcome to the forum, it's nice to see a new casino being developed and will use this forum to promote it services for the crypto community. This shows again how popular our forum is for crypto users. You are right that there has been a rise of crypto casinos over the years and the market has become very competitive. There are basically two ways for a new casino to acquire marketshares. The first one is by offering something new that other casinos don't offer, this could be new games, better service or other feature. The second way is by offering better terms than existing casinos. If there are higher bonuses or higher chances of winning for the gamblers than it will attract a lot new customers. In both cases its important to run a marketing campaign to inform potential customers of the advantages of your casino. The forum can play a big role to promote a new website and new gambling games. Good luck with your casino and I hope you will keep us updated on the progress. If you need any help there are a lot of freelance workers offering their services here on the forum, with many already worked in the gambling industry before.
1880  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: August 29, 2022, 06:59:50 AM
I think the biggest problem for El Salvador was the timing when they adopted Bitcoins as their national currency. In September 2021 the world was still in order and everybody believed that Bitcoin will keep rising. Nobody expected a major war in Europe again that would send the world in an inflation spiral and crush world economic growth. The Bitcoin price dropped in the one year 60% which has a huge impact on the value of the national holdings of El Salvador. The government argues that this is only a short term correction and as long as they are not selling the will not realise any loss. The big problem in my opinion is that the government is becoming more harsh in their effort to silence opposition and trying to stop people from speaking out against bitcoins. This is wrong and contradicts the principles of crypto currencies, which try to increase financial freedom and independence, and should not be used against the own citizens. And then there is the IMF who is controlled by USD and will not help El Salvador as long as they use Bitcoin as their national currency. I hope for the Bitcoin project to succeed in El Salvador, but not at any cost. If the civil unrest keeps increasing they might need to find a compromise to give into the protests. Completely abandoning Bitcoins and selling all coins at the current price seems like the worst decision El Salvador could make, it might take another year but eventually the Bitcoin price is going to recover.
