2821  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Kuba on: October 09, 2021, 06:36:58 PM

Wann warst du etwa in Kuba?
2822  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: October 09, 2021, 06:31:31 AM
I also read that the rise in fuel prices is coming from the producers being unwilling to increase their production output. For oil producers in the middle east it would be easy to just ramp up production but of course they are not interested. We shouldn't forget that fuel was very cheap over the last 10 years and especially with the pandemic we saw a big drop in demand. The lockdown prevented people from travelling and industrial production also dropped because companies were laying off workers. In the end the oil companies now are very happy with higher prices and will likely not trying to produce more to lower them any time soon. Its all about making more money for them.
2823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which alt coin is best investment for long term? on: October 08, 2021, 10:32:47 AM
It is hard to choose the best alt coin today to invest in, because we don't know which new coins are coming to the market over the next months and years. The best coin today could become unattractive if there is a better coin coming out next year. We also need to decide what does it mean for us to be the best coin. Are we looking for a stable coin to protect our value for the future, or are we looking for a coin with a big upside potential? For me it is more important to have a coin which being used regularly. That is why I choose coins to invest in long term that are already established today. The best two coins in my opinion are ETH and Litecoin, both of them are accepted by many stores around the world, so the chances of losing some money is not so big. Long term these two coins should remain attractive for investors and traders.
2824  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 08, 2021, 09:26:50 AM
So far crypto currencies and other national currencies couldn't reduce the dominance of USD. I remember when the Euro was created many people said that it would be a new counterweight against the USD. Then when China was lowering the control of the Yuan investors again said it would be the new opposition to the USD. Both of these currencies are important but are no real threat to the USD. After the recent crypto boom investors might believe that the world could rely on them to take offer the role as world currency. In my opinion this not rely possible at the moment. USA is still the largest economy in the world and all mayor commodities and currencies are quoted in USD. For this link to be weakened we would need to sse the American economy to shrink and be surpassed by other countries like Japan and China. But this doesn't seem very realistic at the moment.
2825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Losses in trading are nothing but Business expenses on: October 08, 2021, 06:42:07 AM
I agree with you that we should look at trading losses more openly. While they hurt our bankroll, losses are not always bad. First of all we should learn from our losses. When we trade and make a profit we usually don't think about our trade and if it was the right call or we just got lucky. But when we are losing we should take a more close look at the trade. Why did we buy that coin in the first place? Maybe our rational to buy a certain coin was coming from sound fundamentals and the drop in price has nothing to do with the coin itself. There is a lot of correlation between bitcoins and altcoins. So if bitcoins drop so will most of the other coins. And a loss in our crypto portfolio doesn't mean we should instantly sell, there is always the possibility to just hold our coins until the prices recover. Only when we are convinced that it doesn't make sense anymore to hold the coin we should be selling.

2827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice for fun or profits on: October 07, 2021, 08:24:12 AM
Different people with divergent motives for gambling and Dice is the most go to gambling game for fun seekers and passive gamblers, and this has raised some cases in the casino House where you play against a player with different motives to yours. I only visit casino houses just to cash fun and spend my free time, but you will find other players who are always at the casino at all times and always ready to play a game against anyone ready this makes me believe this guy is not an addict but have gambled as they mean of making money and dice being an easy game which relies on luck as the top choice.

Making money from Dice games consistently is not possible in my opinion. I played Dice regularly myself and never saw a strategy that can make us money every time we play. The luck factor is big in dice games and with an negative expected value for the gambler we should be losing money in the long run. So relying on Dice games to make a living is not a good idea. Which doesn't mean that we can't make money of it. But in my opinion it is better to look at Dice games, Roulette or Slot machines as a potential addition to our bankroll, there is no certrain money involved. That is why we should never gamble with money that we actually need in the future. If we manage to win money in a session than it is great and we buy something for ourselves from the profits, but this is not reliable income.
2828  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: October 07, 2021, 07:25:15 AM
In my opinion the pandemic was very good for the bitcoin market. We have seen a big rally in bitcoins and most of the a alt coins over the last 12 months. There are a few factors during the pandemic which helped the crypto market a lot. First of all, the goverments all around the world started to inject a lot of money into the economy in an effort to try and stabilize the economy. The reduced tax income for the state was being offset by giving out free money and cheap loans in an effort to try and increase spending and investments. But since not everybody wants to spend their money and we don't get any interest on our savings account many investors looked for new opportunities and found them in the crypto world. Together with the rising inflation this created a huge demand for crypto currencies. And secondly, the multiple lockdowns forced all of us to stay at home and many people had more time on their hand due to lower working hours or losing their jobs. In search of finding new ways to make money some people turned towards crypto currencies. Everybody with a PC and internet access can start trading cryptos from home with low fees.
2829  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Kuba on: October 06, 2021, 07:38:57 PM
2830  Economy / Economics / Re: Is budgeting still effective in tackling the need to constantly withdraw money? on: October 06, 2021, 07:11:41 PM
I know you feeling very well, had a similar problem when I played poker more regularly. Every time I had a big win in poker I wanted to withdraw money instantly. Having a fixed budget is a good start, but when you see your wallet growing every week the mind likes to play tricks on us. It was very difficult to not give into the pressure to withdraw money and spend it, because if I lost money I had to deposit again. Saving fees and not transfer money so often was much better for my bankroll. With crypto currencies I am trying to get around such withdrawal pressure by using multiple wallets. I have one wallet for long term storage, in that wallet I only add funds and never want to withdraw money for short term buys. A second wallet is for smaller purchases I like to do online with bitcoins, and a third online wallet is for micro transactions from faucets and from signature campaigns. For me having multiple wallets for different purposes makes it easier to control my spending habits.
2831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you want to quit trading ? on: October 06, 2021, 06:27:55 PM
Yes, I have similar thoughts myself and actually quit trading a few times in the past because of too high risks . The first time I was involved in trading was back at university where I went into stocks and futures trading with some friends. Initially we were doing well but lost all our profits in a week of bad trading, after that I stopped trading completely for some year. Only after getting my first paychecks in my job after university I started looking at trading again, that was the first time I heard about crypto currencies. So I tried my luck with Bitcoins, Litecoin and Dogecoin. But again my profits were not as high as I opened for, for all the time I invested, so I quit trading again. And after a few years I want to try my luck again, that is why I am back into crypto currencies since last year. While risk is still a big factor for me, it makes it easier to deal with when the prices are so high as this year. The risk of making a loss with my coins is not so high this year.
2832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shitcoins as collectables in the future on: October 06, 2021, 05:29:44 PM
It is a good way of looking at shitcoins as a form of rare currency collectables in the future. Like this we feel less bad about making a bad investment. Probably most of us here on the forum have at least one or two old crypto coins which are close to being worthless at the moment. Selling these coins seems not attractive so we just keep on holding them and hoping for a rise in price eventually. Personally I gave up on believing in shitcoins, buying them in the first place was a bad call and I wouldn't do it again but now I am stuck with some coins. We don't know what is going to happen and maybe collecting crypto coins becomes attractive in a few years. Just like with people wanting to own all kinds of old currencies which don't have any value anymore. This would create a lot of demand again for coins which are not being traded anymore.

2835  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Society with no law on: August 31, 2021, 07:18:04 AM
Imagine a society without laws, without rules and agreements: it would be a real chaos. To coexist in an environment, we all require rules. Without them, each person would do what they wanted, would think of themselves, without thinking about the consequences that their actions could cause to others. Nor would we have sanctions, much less rights, it would be a society where there is no justice and few people would care about the welfare of the other. Each person would assume justice and human rights, at their convenience.

I fully agree with you, it will be complete chaos on the streets again. People need rules to coexist because there will always be disputes and we need civilised ways to deal with them. Lawyers and courts are important, without them in the end life will be like in the wild west days where everybody carries a revolver.
2836  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of life do you think is perfect? on: August 30, 2021, 06:48:27 PM
For me the best life is if my family, friends and me are healthy and happy. Money is important but not everything. If I had to choose I would always go for a healthy and happy life instead of money. So if I can provide good food, take my family twice per year on vacation, and life in a decent apartment, then life is good. I think we should be reasonable.
2837  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Taliban are highly unlikely to change on: August 30, 2021, 06:42:06 PM
It's crazy to see all the Taliban on social media now how they try to be open for Western country. In my opinion this is all show, they are mit trying to really change. The only thing they are trying to achieve at the moment is to project some kind of stability. Only if there is some kind of stability they will be able to keep getting international support and help. Especially the NGOs and health agencies are going a lot of work in Afghanistan.
2838  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Japan discovers "magnetic" substance in Pfizer covid vaccines; journalists... on: August 30, 2021, 06:28:44 PM
I don't understand why so many people are afraid of the corona vaccines. Every week there are new articles against the vaccine. But my friends and family all gut vaccinated and nobody died. I am glad to have done it because now I can meet my grand mother again without being afraid to infect her. In my country the corona cases are rising again but the mortality rate remains very low thanks to the vaccines.
2839  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you watch MMA? on: August 30, 2021, 06:20:15 PM
I prefer boxing to MMA but I also watch some games. When I was younger was a big fan of Anderson Silva,he was such an excellent fighter. During his younger days he was unbeatable, his technique was ahead of time, a real super star. Unfortunately he didn't end his career when he was at the top. His last few fights where not good anymore,he was just too old.
2840  Other / Off-topic / Re: My love for music on: August 30, 2021, 11:18:55 AM
I love music. I play the violin and the piano, sing and listen all the time, write songs and compose melodies. This is my form of meditation

Oh that's so cool, I love hearing violins and wish I learned it myself when I was younger, but it's so difficult. Music is a big part of my life, every time I feel down or sad I listen to music to make me feel better.
