presumably you post a lot in the mining section? i'm not sure i've ever had a post there that wasn't nuked by the moderator.

what moderator? the OP here?

i post there some..but ALL my 60 posts I made and another negative 11 posts...no way....something else seems to be dorked

I went back and counted posts (elminating speculation and this thread) and ended up with 44 posts that should count....dated from

the last payout...I also show NO posts from the 22nd of Feb to the 27th of Feb ...I also know that is not correct....I see to remember this happening iike 3 years ago also on bitcointalk....anyway...

so something else is going on it seems....all I really can do is go to profile and count the posts since the last payout before

I started to get negative numbers backwards and scratch my head on how I have negative 11 posts from the last payout Sad

brad

You're getting negative numbers due to your post count being reduced from deleted post. You likely had many posts in spam megathreads (generally threads that ask a simple question, and have hundreds if not thousands of replies) that were deleted, and when a thread is sent to the Trash Can, you don't get a PM notification.

Lauda should being counting based on time period as you're getting paid for new posts, so I wouldn't worry about it. Seems like a lot of threads were trashed, I saw someone who lost 35 posts.

Edit:

I did a recount of post counts earlier today. There are several bugs which cause the post count to drift from its real value over time. The current count is the accurate one.

I looked. I’ll be dammed if I can find threads, that ceased to exist, where 71 posts got dumped.

I’ll keep looking. Befuddled.

I'm riding it down....at least the BTC hoard....I'll use what I need from the Alts, as long as possible, if it is all 'going tulips'...

but, again I expect this market to be down or sideways this year...the trustee of the mt. gox is dumping on the exchange..if he is smart

he is telling the wife, WHEN, he is doing so, to play the market...500 million down since Nov 2017 I heard, only 1.5 billion left to liguidate

again, this could go on all year long..so will ride it out for the BTC and flush my alts to live off of..if I have to...obviously, it it is this bad

scrypt-pow mining (and others) but mine will likely be wrap'd up by August 2018...w/o new equipment...

so worse comes to worse....I retire 3 years early on the Alts and Mining ...and have a BTC hoard, I can frame the paper wallets on the wall Smiley

anyway, reply to if it all goes south Sad

I have the tax man to pay...so somewhat clueless on when I'm gonna sell some LTC to cover for such...

I will inform you all here, I always sell at the low and buy at the high...so at least some of you can time your buys to match my

ugly sales...(its a gift!)

2885  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | 🔥 Coinpayments.net Signature Campaign 🔥 | 100% SegWit | on: March 10, 2018, 11:42:36 PM
A side note to anyone...I seem to be going backwards on my post count for some reason....I am pretty sure I was already over 60 posts for the next count...but my
current count is like 11 below, or some such of what the OP on this thread gave me at the last payout!

Annoying! Is it just me, or is bitcointalk or somehing dorked...I suppose I can go back and prove on my profile by showing posts AFTER the date that I got my last
payout on this thread...but if anyone else is having these problems....it is a bitcointalk bug and maybe it will be addressed

left a pm to Launda, the OP on this thread...just seeing if misery loves company and anyone else has tripped over this 'bug' or whatever the heck causes it

thanks

brad

added:

Last payout showed 6855 and as you can see my profile currently shows 6844, well, something is dorked indeed...(see my current count under my avatar)

added more:

Everything in my profile for post count from Feb 22nd to the 27th seems gone for some reason.....I am pretty sure I posted in that time frame....or I'd not have

made the last cut for posts...just another stone in the pile...

This news about the decline of Litecoin is not that bad taking it in context with the current state of the market. We have had good times and we will have bad times but Litcoin's position in the market is assured as it is an the alternative to Bitcoin.

The world’s fifth-largest cryptocurrency plummeted to $160.43 at 6am, its lowest price since February 13 when it was $158.50, according to CoinMarketCap.
Although it rose to $176.13 at 1.09pm, the digital token still down 5.03 percent over the last 24 hours, as of 1.32pm.
https://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/929507/Litecoin-price-drop-why-fallen-will-Litecoin-go-back-up-cryptocurrency-latest

I've seen charts *unknown how legit* where all the dumps from 18k and downward of any major note...has been from the mt. gox trustee dumping BTC to USD for the settlement...

if that is the case...LTC and other alts are gonna go sideways at best..till that clears out...assuming LTC stays connected in price to BTC price....

so far I have read that the mt. gox trustee has dumped 500 million since nov/dec and has 1.5 billion dollars to go..and has stated they are trying to get the 'highest price possible'

we could see this go on for the rest of the year of sideways or down prices for all crypto ..if they follow BTC's lead on these dumps...

i finally got round to charting stuff earlier.. in light of what we know (160,000BTC still to sell by mt gox trustee)

My chart shows our 2018 channel for BTC to be highs of $10407 with lows of $6683...
so LTC... what searing says... sideways for a while to come.

HEY...prove me wrong...I want to be 'full of sh*t' on much of what I say lately....alas, it has not been happening....I am distraught, ACK!

that's always been your problem bro... you think you must be full of shit and 99% of the time you are right on the money.

yeah...its a frigging curse..it messes up my unicorn/rainbow/fairy dust/Bambi loving view of what I want the crypto universe to be!....annoying...

With $220 off coupons I just received, ROI is still quiet far away even at $330/D3.

my coupons are $125 per unit. Even that don't work...sad...

What is happening guys?

Everyone is talking about gox??

Why are we going down?? This is hell not good..

How are you ever going to be rich if you don’t buy into the dip?  Just plan ahead so you still have firepower left if it keeps falling.

You should probably stop giving advice. It's been bad

It’s as good as free advice gets.  I’m telling people to start buying cautiously at 57% below ATH but hold back fiat to cover it going lower.   There’s nothing wrong with that.

You will recall our conversation from two days ago when I said I had FOMOed back in at $6500 and $8500.  Well here are again.   I’m done buying at $6500 and $8500 but I will definitely be buying again sub$5k if we get there.

12 hours later my advice to start cautiously buying at $8500 seems to have been ok.

Till we get to 11k again and the mt. gox trustee dumps (500 million down ...1.5 billion to go!) this could get really really old a yo/yo from say 11k to 8k rollercoaster......

2893  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: March 09, 2018, 09:33:35 PM
My understanding is if it's the overt form yes if covert no.

I think the chip is formatted with this and can't be changed. You may see a lot of used S9s on the market soon.

that would keep bitmain happy..I suspect their data hall machines can do now asicboost openly

I'm guessing Bitmain will come out with more than one new miner around March/April. There selling off everything stocked in there  warehouses to finance new R/D. That's what I would do in there place. They already know about the asicboost.

In reply to dragonmint...my guess is that bitmain will just add asic boost to their NEW miners as a perk...either NEW production after march/april or they will just wait with their

next generatioin..I mean as a monopoly...why p*ss in their own pool and mess up their asic boost data hall mining of such...

On a related question, IF asic boost is open source...does that mean bitcoin core with seg witness will allow such...or not?

They would need to join the defensive patent thing which means that they need to open source their own patents too and they will not do that.

Well, that answers that..although I was told that they got permission to use asic boost (bitmain) by spondoolies who helped with this in some manner...(rumor)

and/or they are just doing it anyway with their china data halls....thus, I"m sure bitmain can make NEW equipment that can do ASIC boost on an open patent

if they design a chip to do such.....I bet they can open source and keep the open source on their process to do so ...and keep the rest of their stuff closed firmware

(again guessing)

brad

On a related question, IF asic boost is open source...does that mean bitcoin core with seg witness will allow such...or not?

ASICBOOST impacts the way the stratum mining protocol works more than the core software. Right now, core doesn't support stratum out of the box. You'd need another piece of software, like ckpool, or another stratum proxy (slushes, BFG, etc.) to translate the API calls from core into the work format that stratum uses.

You wouldn't need to change core, in other words, because that layer stays the same. The middle tier layer that's getting work and coordinating miners in a pool is what needs to be updated.

Ok, that catches me up on all this...and if you are correct on above ...AT LEAST it would likely mean that FUTURE Bitmain sha-256 would have this..and hell Bitmain could even
use the patent argurment to NOT do anything about past units..would be a win/win....

Again, I think IF the dragonmint folk can use this ...I see no reason on NEW equipment other manufacters would not be able to...but it is NOT in any manufactuer's interest to

do a fix of PAST units they have made....for asic boost..IF they are running data halls.....the will balk at that (again, IMHO)

still not convinced enough to mine it.
i even have the old neptunes on BTC, mining around 900sats per block, rather than mine this shit.

You mining in the wrong place, or mining at a low diff or both?

neptunes, aka shitty cubes. three working, two down.

repaste them (if running them worth the trouble) and get the maxumark bracket 10 bucks to replace the KNC kludge bracket. (pm maxumark on here they are 10 bucks each)...also
then you can put heatsinks on the dc/dc's also

again, you probably know this and likely not worth it..but IF you are running them anyway...

2895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: March 09, 2018, 09:28:02 PM
Hey guys I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question:
I've been mining LCC for 10 days now with one S9 miner, and got only 182 LLC.
I think as per my calcuation the ROI is less than BTC.

please correct me if I'm wrong.

also, what is the best exchange to trade LCC, and what is the point of being listed on Yobit but without the ability to trade it.

1) you are not wrong.

2) exchanges don't want it.

Hi rgsnedds, I see you are still interested in LCC. Come and join the discord, will be good to have you in the community.  Smiley

He actually joined the discord... AndronicusBass... some days ago. Smiley
I consider that he is a bit interested... but as every curmudgeon, he likes to play... isn't it?

still not convinced enough to mine it.
i even have the old neptunes on BTC, mining around 900sats per block, rather than mine this shit.

I've got an old KNC 550gh Jupiter sha-256 BTC miner laying around.....even if I wanted to mine this (hey, it heats the basement) doubt it would be worth it..

by the by, for giggles, is there an LCC calculator link about with the current ADJUSTED lower LCC rate....I'm curious if even a Neptune could make anything on this

difficulty wise...(not that I have any other sha-256 btc machines anyway)
2896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 09, 2018, 04:34:22 PM

I was wondering with ASICboost being made open source now for BTC Sha-256 miners...is that something that can eventually be adopted by LTC and/or scrypt-pow miners?

just curious

2897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: March 09, 2018, 04:31:42 PM
A little confused as to why this miner difficulty got worse?  One would think that more people mining, it would become easier.  .. or better yet, a 'fixed' mining difficulty rate.

If the price keeps declining, the difficulty will adjust, boosting profitability. If the price rebounds and begins to rise, the difficulty will continue to rise and catch up, but profitability should still rise.

The only ones losing out on this are the ones selling their machines and/or selling their coins. The winners are the ones that hodl.

One small problem is for this month anyway..is the giant bitmain dump of L3+'s like what is it 5 batches from Dec to March backlog...that is gonna throw a big wrench in

the works...if the price drops to say the $150 LTC range..

on a side note....with ASIC boost being open source now ..is that a tweak that can adopted eventually to be used on scrypt-pow miners or still only sha-256 yet?

Sigh, why sell D3 miners when current D3 owners are not profitable as it is.... That is juz bad.
Innosilicon has a stronger dash miner but are selling it at a ridiculously high price for wat it does. Dash, in general isnt worth mining.

At 12c kWh electric with 2 Bitmain D3 dash miners....I made like $229.00 USD last month...my electric cost at 2500 watts was $216.00 USD big whoop

made $13 bucks....they are going to doorstop status soon...that certainly does not fly with NEW units out the door...even with a $200 buck coupon...

Hey. mining has become quite unprofitable for a long time. if anyone can prove otherwise to me, I'd love to have a precious experience.

To all people starting out - please know this is FUD and not true. I'm mining and make lots of money doing it. Just don't listen to this and do your thing Smiley

Pls check your mining calculator. The numbers are not good now.

To  BUY new ASIC equipment, I agree. To run my equipment that has ROI ‘d Golden.

But yeah, in my case, if looking to buy equipment with miner gains it makes no sense, IF
your equipment only ROI’s with coin price pump. So if you have equipment it is better
to HODL and wait to buy equipment. IMHO.
