2901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 27, 2023, 06:02:45 PM
I wouldn’t say I bet solely on the odds alone. However, I do take the odds into account and there have been plenty of times that my decision on which side to place my bet was changed due to the odds. Balancing risk and reward is a major step in gambling and investing and nothing displays this more simply for people than the “odds” of a bet.

Exchanges can borrow coin in order to pass an audit.  NYKNYC.

It did appear this was occurring during the FTX debacle. You saw the headlines of massive amounts of funds being moved between exchanges. Certainly there was some bad behavior going on there. Auditing of crypto companies should be dead simple, so it’s a shame that gaming audits is so easily possible and allowed. I’m sure real banks don’t do this…
2903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 27, 2023, 05:57:48 PM
^ We’ll see. The Trailblazers have been praising Dame for years and saying that they’d help him get to where he wants to go if he ever wanted to leave the franchise, so I could see them letting him go for a lot of picks instead of trying to get a star player. Dame is also starting to age, so from a business standpoint it’s probably time to part ways with him anyway.
2904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 26, 2023, 04:24:50 PM
Rumors are that Damian Lillard is not happy that the Trailblazers didn’t try and trade their pick to get him some win now help. He’s also basically stated that he wants to be in Miami with Bam and Jimmy. It seems like this is going to happen and probably going to happen this week. I still think the Beal trade is the big move so far though.
2905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 26, 2023, 02:46:16 AM
It’s crazy that sites are allowing people to bet on this fight already. As serious as they may seem about it, Elon is so rich and has such an important mission ahead of him, it would be stupid to fight. Imagine human beings never become a multi planetary species because Elon got injured in a fight with the Zuck… Any place I can bet on this fight not happening?
2906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 07:57:03 PM
The latest DeAndre Ayton rumor is that the Suns are going to trade him in a three team deal for Tobias Harris… I think this would be a huge mistake on pretty much every level. I think Ayton has a higher ceiling, I think he meets the needs of the Suns better than Harris, and I think he’s a more valuable player right now. I hope the Suns do better than that for Ayton.
2907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 25, 2023, 07:48:08 PM
Not that tennis isn’t a great sport on its own, but lately I’ve noticed a rise in tennis derivative sports. For example, I’m seeing highlights from a tennis baseball league that looks like a lot of fun. In addition, I also for the first time saw wheelchair tennis in action and I must say that it looks incredibly difficult. A ton of respect for the people doing that.
2908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: June 25, 2023, 07:46:37 PM
Since seeing this post I’ve been keeping my eye open and paying attention to the YouTube ads I’m seeing. I haven’t seen a single gambling advertisement, so I have to assume that my original assumption is correct and YouTube is not allowing the advertising of gambling to United States viewers. Is anyone seeing different?

Somewhat of a dull weekend after the crazy rally this week. I guess the market being more and more in the hands of banks will make it a little more centered around banking hours. With all the news lately I’m expecting the coming week to have some excitement. It seems like the ETF floodgates are about to break wide open.
2910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 25, 2023, 07:42:37 PM
Am I already seeing ads for a KSI vs Jake Paul fight in October? Has the promotion for the Nate Diaz fight gone so poorly that they’re already moving on to trying to build up the next fight? Feels like the influencer boxing scene is dying rather quickly. Maybe Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg will end up being the last ridiculous fight that marks the shark has been jumped.
2911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 01:50:49 PM
Pretty crazy that Green would turn down that player option to try and get a longer deal (or jump teams). I don’t think the Warriors are going to want to extend him a long term contract given his age and drop off. I’m not sure where else Draymond would be effective either. I don’t think he fits well with any other team in the league.

My advice is
Don't keep Bacon off your plate.
Enjoy it while you can.

This was almost a haiku

My sage advice is
Don't keep bacon off your plate.
Enjoy while you can.

Taking it one step further...

You freakin' woke sluts,
Take your hands off peoples' plates!
Repressed omnivores.

I pity the fool that tries to take away my bacon. I am a little worried that I might need to become a farmer at some point. Definitely enjoying bacon burgers while I can though. It seems insane to me that I entertain that as a real thought, but I really do. I had 1/2lb of bacon for breakfast this morning.
2913  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 25, 2023, 08:30:09 AM
I watched Putin’s speech this morning and am surprised with the Wagner mutiny situation. I did not see that coming. I wonder if anyone did. It seems like this war has gone far better than expected for Ukraine. More recently though it appears that this situation may end peacefully for Russia with Wagner reportedly no longer moving towards Moscow, which may swing the war back in their favor.
2914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2023, 04:36:01 PM
I think all he wants is security so giving him a longer contract should suffice to get him back to the team. An increase may not be his main goal on why he declined his option. News came out that he thinks he is worth $100m so give him 5 years of $20m.
Possibly, he wants to be there when Steph Curry retires and just get the money that he wants even though his co-main star is already resting.

Yeah, I've also heard rumors that Green naively thinks he deserves another $100 million contract and that the Warriors want him back. However, I still don't believe in this outcome. I mean, it makes no sense for the Warriors' management to offer him such a big, long contract because Green is 33 years old and already performing pretty mediocrely. Just imagine how bad he'll be when he turns 38.

I’m surprised Green hasn’t been traded already. I don’t think he can play at a championship level anymore. His shooting has been terrible. He is no longer able to be a stretch 4 and his bullying style of defense isn’t going to age well. I think he’s got about 2 or 3 years left in the league before he can’t start on any team. No way would I want to offer him a deal longer than 3 years and at nowhere near his current salary.
2915  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S17 Pro - 0.02 BTC obo on: June 24, 2023, 04:32:14 PM
I’m still accepting offers for this piece of hardware. Feel free to contact me with any questions or offers. I am hoping to find a buyer willing to pay in bitcoins and avoid the typical auctions and marketplaces, but it’s starting to feel like I might need to go that route. If you are looking for an s17 then hit me up.

I've had great success via eBay auctions for this type of unit. With the normal protections in terms of serial recording / tracking etc.
For some reason normal sales are stagnant, but auctions people go crazy.
Good luck selling it.

I avoid eBay sales for this sort of thing just because I don’t trust PayPal and am not familiar enough with their new way of paying through bank accounts for me to feel comfortable doing it. Plus, this is being sold on behalf of NastyMining so I would much prefer to have the sale done in BTC to keep things simple. It is probably time for me to explore other avenues though, so I appreciate your suggestion.

........
Let's enjoy the "spoils" of a much appreciated strong bull run.

Agreed!.. Lets enjoy the spoils!

While this run off the bottom has indeed been impressive, I'm not yet counting my eggs.  It feels like the newcomers in the market don't really understand the problems that Bitcoin faces and are instead looking to pump themselves to riches and bonuses.  This will ultimately lead to the failure of Bitcoin.  However, that is a long ways from where we are currently, so for now all you can really do is enjoy the ride and wait until a proper exit point when BTC has reached new all time highs.  That's when I'll enjoy the spoils.  Right now we are still less than half of the way to the recent high, so I'm not excited yet.  I'll start becoming excited when we pass $50K and the FOMO begins anew.
2917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 07:22:33 PM
I see the news reporting that Monty Williams is selling his Scottsdale home now that he's been fired as the Phoenix Suns head coach.  I think he's the single reason that DeAndre Ayton has underperformed in the NBA.  With him gone now, that opens the door up to keep Ayton and develop him into the player he should become, but who knows what sort of bad blood there is between him and the organization or if the firing of Monty Williams was enough to get Ayton back on board.  I still think the Suns dump Ayton for a more experienced player that can help them win now, but if I were in charge I certainly wouldn't do that.
2918  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: June 23, 2023, 07:20:25 PM
It would appear that pre-production of the Cybertruck has begun.  I wonder what the vaporware crowd has to say now?  Still think these will never be produced?  The pre-production stage is usually where they clean up their processes and get models to reviewers and testers as they plot out ramping up to full scale production.  I think there's still probably another month or two before that happens, but it indeed appears that the Cybertruck in on pace to make a Q3 2023 debut.  Sure, it could slip into the end of the year and it will likely be another year before I can get my hands on one, but they're coming and it appears nothing will stop that now.

Sure feels like we’re back to up only. With leveraged funds entering the mix now I expect a ton of volatility and there are lots of investors who will have reason to pump Bitcoin now. I wish we’d seen a spot ETF first and things like this a year from now, so we’ll have to see how it goes. It seems early for the market to be pumping BTC into a bubble.
2920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 23, 2023, 04:50:22 PM
I just don’t understand Musk’s confidence. Zuck has been actively training for MMA and Elon looks like he couldn’t run a mile to save his fortune. I think Elon’s walrus technique would land him in quite a bit of trouble with any sort of trained fighter and his age makes this to me nothing more than a troll move. If he is truly 180 pounds, Zuck would easily kick his ass, and I’m a Musk fan who hates Zuck.
