2901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best career for women on: June 30, 2023, 10:59:59 PM
Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency, NOT a career.

What would help those with household responsibilities (regardless of gender) is remote work and flexible work hours.

- Jay -

This was my first thought when seeing this thread as well. Imagine saying something like “United States Dollars are the best career for women.” What does that even mean? I get it though, he’s probably talking about women getting into programming and building use cases for Bitcoin and more likely crypto as a whole due to a much more friendly development atmosphere.
2902  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 30, 2023, 10:58:05 PM
This situation is indeed concerning. I think any online casino is likely to run into these sort of issues and it’s why people should never keep more money than is needed on any service. It’s an extremely unfortunate situation but if everything is legit as you say, I’m sure you will eventually get your money. Jumping through hoops sucks, but I don’t think Stake needs your $6K.
2903  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could world war 3 be inevitable? on: June 30, 2023, 10:54:38 PM
War isn’t so easy to define anymore. I personally believe we are at war though. The flood of drugs killing Americans, the rise of mental illness, our food supply chain being destroyed, outright lies being told by our government. All of this doesn’t happen without major outside influence. I think you’d have to be not paying attention to not see that America is under attack.
2904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: June 30, 2023, 10:50:55 PM
Slow and steady always wins the race. No matter how many times I try to get friends to take a stack sats approach it always fails. Everyone wants to pile all their money in when Bitcoin is all over the news, which unfortunately is the worst possible time to do so. Then they lose money and hate crypto for 4 years. Then another bubble and repeat…
2905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 30, 2023, 10:48:54 PM
I’m a little surprised that stocks are seeing such a huge rise today on the news that the government is going to make people who borrowed money pay it back, but Bitcoin hasn’t really followed suit. Possibly because of the big move above $31K we saw recently, but it’s starting to feel like the market is showing the first signs of exhaustion.
2906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 30, 2023, 10:46:42 PM
^ That’s a big blow to the Nuggets. He anchored their bench and in a position where they struggle. I think if Denver really wants to repeat and get themselves in the dynasty conversation for real, they’re going to need to pick up a good shooting guard. Beal would’ve been the best prospect but he’s gone to Phoenix. Maybe they can try to get Anthony Edwards or something.
2907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 29, 2023, 10:03:48 PM
Interesting reports today saying that despite attempts there is apparently no market for James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Kyrie is seemingly still worthy of his contract, but only if he actually plays, which he spends more time destroying his own team in the locker room than other teams on the court. Harden I assume is just making too much money for the drop off he’s seeing at his age. Still, interesting.
What? I think they are still a decent players but with their performances really dropping and being like a butterfly in the league it's really not going well for both of them. I still think that there are teams that may get them or how about they pair one of them with Wemby, it may sound a bad trade but it's likely worth it imo.

Harden opted into his player option for this year. Obviously he had too as he won’t get anywhere near that salary otherwise. They’re going to try and work a sign and trade to find him a long term home but honestly any team that bites is shooting themselves in the foot.

As for Kyrie… He’s trying to get to the Suns now. As good as he is, I think the Suns are better off without him. Although I think Ayton would be better off in Dallas.
2908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will another ETF be immediately bullish for Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2023, 08:26:13 PM
Another day another large company showing their intent to create a Bitcoin ETF. the effect this is going to have on the Bitcoin market will in my opinion follow gold’s footsteps. Gold went up from around $275 per ounce to $1800 per ounce in the 8 years following its ETF’s launch. When you factor in BTC’s halvings and scarcity, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to make the statement that BTC will hit $800,000 in 2033.

(1800/275)*4*30,555.56=800K

(Get gold’s increase)*account for halvings*insert BTC price=BTC price 8 years after ETFs go live.
2909  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2023, 08:15:40 PM
Now Fidelity has filed for an ETF. This is definitely not par for the course over the years. It feels to me like the government informed large fund managers that the flood gates were about to open and Bitcoin ETFs would all be approved. That’s the only thing that makes sense given the sudden number of major players filing for these funds.
2910  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2023, 05:27:00 PM
Seems like the price is stagnating a bit. Looks to me like a big player came out and said they wanted to scoop up all the BTC they can at $30K, so that’s what has been happening. I’m not sure what profit expectations it takes for Wall Street to pour energy into developing a new asset class, but I have a feeling we’re going to find out over the next decade.

2912  Economy / Speculation / Re: Microstrategy buys again! on: June 29, 2023, 06:36:02 AM
Microstrategy has been impressive with the amount of BTC they’ve been able to acquire. They will no doubt be one of the richest companies in the world if Bitcoin does continue its meteoric rise. There are a lot of advantages to owning Microstrategy over an ETF, and I only with I would have grabbed some when it was at the lows. The future could be quite bright for them.
2913  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Octotank12 with 2 whatsminer 30s+ review. Not ready for full review. on: June 29, 2023, 06:19:33 AM
@philipma1957 any news? How are the Octotank? Loudness, Cooling?

zip no gear no part refund for the delay .

pretty much a bust.

Man, that’s sucks to hear. This is the sort of solution I’d love to see become a reality. It would really be great if there was a way I could mine in up to 115 degree heat using some sort of device. That way I would feel comfortable leaving it outside in the desert to take advantage of our sweet sweet cheap nuclear energy.

So many awesome videos coming out showing this vehicle now that it’s being produced by the factory. Here’s a clip showing the inside of the vehicle. It’s probably the best one yet that I’ve seen showing the transparent roof. Reminds me of the vehicles they used in Jurassic Park. No T-Rex is gonna catch this beast though.

Edit: There’s now a configurator so you can see lots of different colors!!

2915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 29, 2023, 06:11:10 AM
Now that CP3 is on the Warriors, I think so too that he will be in the starting line-up but that won't be long as they cannot afford to lose CP3 via injury and will just let him rest in-between or where the Warriors needed him the most.
He'll surely be in the starting line up, the Warriors won't spend millions on him on this trade if he won't be on the starting five. We'll get to see those days if it happens as he's an injury prone player.

But at least on this matter, GSW got someone who would take care of the job and will have the assist for open shots for Klay and Steph.

He's the one to take care of it.

I thought they were getting him as a backup so I’m surprised that they’re planning to have him alongside Steph and Klay. That’s a pretty small and not very athletic 3 players. Not to mention Green is undersized and aging. I’m not sure what kind of basketball they’ll be playing, but they won’t be getting very many rebounds while doing it.
2916  Other / Politics & Society / Re: TrumpCoin - Making Crypto Great Again! on: June 29, 2023, 02:43:00 AM
Last I checked, Trump never stated any plans of issuing any memecoins.
This is common in the crypto space, anything that can be copied based on its popularity, they'll take it part of the project's name. Thus with the upcoming presidential election again coming to the US, they think it will be Trump back in the office as the POTUS. We have those inu name of meme coins and etc. And at the same time, this has nothing to do with politics and society so this shouldn't be here but in the altcoin discussion.

Ya, I’m sure there are hundreds of trump coins out there. These can be fun little projects to mess around with and see what you can turn them into, but they should be marketed as such. That was what was great about dogecoin. If it had been marketed as a serious currency then I doubt anyone would have wanted to be involved since it obviously was not.

It’s nice to see an example of some unique wraps that these trucks will be sporting.

Feel free to post your own examples. I really like the camo one that’s going around but no doubt there will some great ones. I like the rusted looking ones I’ve seen that give this tank the apocalyptic feel it deserves. I can’t believe there are people who thought Tesla was going to make a vaporware product. LOL. Won’t be much longer now!  Grin

Here’s another. I love how angry these pictures make stupid people so I can’t resist bringing a smile to myself so easily.

2918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 28, 2023, 08:32:07 PM
It is a shame too. The Blazers were on their way to a dynasty but Greg Oden’s injury devastated them. Brandon Roy also could have been great, not to mention they had LaMarcus Aldridge and even Zach Randolph. It was just a series of unfortunate incidents that kept Dame from getting a ring, so I think everyone is fine with him ring chasing now. Poor Portland. What could have been.

In fact, Oden had potential, but he didn't even have time to prove himself due to constant injuries. Just imagine how good the Blazers could have been if Lillard, Roy, Aldridge, and Oden had been healthy and played at the same time in their prime. They probably would have been able to win a couple of titles at the time.
As for Randolph, he was really good in the Blazers early in his career. However, I personally associate him more with a Grizzlies uniform than a Blazers uniform.

Statistically speaking if you look at Oden’s stats for the amount of time he played, he was one of the most dominant players the NBA has ever seen. He would have been a hall of famer if he could have stayed healthy in my opinion. He just didn’t have the time. Most people have no idea that bad luck kept Portland from one of the most dominant teams of all time.

In addition to the camouflage cybertruck we’ve seen driving around TeslaCarsOnly posted this image of a wrapped cybertruck in red and black. It’s nice to see an example of some unique wraps that these trucks will be sporting. It’s been called the easiest automobile to wrap ever made so I think there are going to be an endless number of unique trucks on the road.

Does the pool accept nicehash solo mining rentals?

I don’t believe that would be a good idea currently. NastyPool hasn’t been operating for some time. The splitting and takeover of the p2pool project soured my personal taste for it a bit and there’s been no development on that front that I’m aware of for some time. I actually think a majority of the tabs on nastyfans.org should be removed as they don’t display current information and confuse more people than they help.
