I’m not sure how PoW coins could help America. Most of the ideas being pitched don’t really seem to solve problems as much as force a use case. If I were the dictator of America, I would probably look into JFK’s executive order 11110 and also make politicians submitting a budget deficit illegal. These two actions I suspect would solve a majority of the world’s problems over a couple decades.

With the threat of a mtgox massive sudden dump on the market seemingly not being an issue for another year, the current threat seems to be Binance failing as a result of reduced investment. This is likely caused by wider economic issues and historically high interest rates. I suspect these problems are short term and temporary, but may create a nice dip to buy in the coming weeks.

I think most successful casinos don’t really want the additional responsibility nor regulator attention that would come with releasing a token. Their main line of business is too important and profitable for them to play games to try and get more money from their user base. That being said, if Stake offered a token where I could get a piece of their profits I would be all over it.

This should be a surprise to nobody at this point. Microstrategy is all in on Bitcoin. It is clear by this point that they will keep buying as much as they can with any profit they can get their hands on and if there is investment demand they will issue more shares to raise funds for more Bitcoin. I don’t see this changing anytime soon.

We only see a few of those kinds of altercations in the NBA, and that adds to the excitement of the game, actually. Klay vs. Booker, there's no way I will side with Booker, even though he is the better player. Basketball is a team game, not an individual one. Booker may boast about his stats, but Klay will just remind him of his 4 rings. I think Booker needs to win a championship first.
If not for CP3, the Suns wouldn't be a playoff team, that's a fact.
Too bad KD is in the Suns this season and Booker couldn't prove anything as long as KD is there except by going into the NBA championship this season. anyway, if they can go to the playoffs and win against the Denver Nuggets if ever they happen to be fighting to get to the next round, then that would be a huge improvement for them because we all know after that, it would be easy games unless they gonna go against the GSW once again but this time without CP3 and that's the best game we will ever see in the NBA playoffs this season. I don’t think the Warriors match up well against the Suns. I also don’t think the Suns match up well against the Nuggets. With all the super teams seemingly in the west this year, I believe the playoff bracket may be more important this year than in those previous. I still think there are probably only 6 teams that could win it all this year.

It seems a little like this is a plan to get a bunch of people together with gambling horror stories in order to harass casino owners into some sort of support or settlement. Maybe I’m completely wrong, but that is what I’m sniffing from reading the plan here. I guess maybe that’s what Unions are, so not a big deal. Just trying to illuminate the motivation here.

Elon doesnt matter, he is just one guy. Always was true, the Bitcoin effect is not one person and I dont think he is pivotal. Nothing to do with liking or disliking him, even when BTC was doing very well and he was helping its hype perhaps I'd still have said the same. It dont matter, we are hoping BTC is part of the world from the smallest people to the largest perhaps but its really only about the general dynamics true. If he doesnt see its of any benefit thats his own problem to handle, love to hear he has ideas and innovation but I never really read anything interesting in that respect.
That’s not really true. He isn’t just one guy. He has several multi-billion dollar companies and an army of supporters that is growing by the day. He has the power to get Tesla to accept BTC, and he and his companies could buy potentially hundreds of billions of dollars worth of BTC. That alone makes him arguably more important than a Bitcoin spot ETF approval.

Obviously Joe Biden is suffering from a severe mental and physical decline. It has gotten so bad that people are sick of it. Today at his rally he was interrupted and unable to continue because of people chanting “F*%# Joe Biden!” It’s hard to believe this is the new normal, but for people trying to buy a home or barely able to afford groceries, Joe Biden is their biggest enemy.

I can understand people saying that most cryptos will fall to zero. It’s probably true as most of them provide no value and solve no problems. However, it’s pretty ignorant to say that about Bitcoin. There are companies pouring billions of dollars into mining facilities and infrastructure. I don’t think it’s realistic to think they’d let their investments become worthless. I think we’re much closer to the bottom now than the top.

Chris Haynes is reporting that Portland is refusing to speak to Miami about a Damian Lillard trade now. Apparently they are tired of negotiations they believe are taking advantage of them and have tasked Miami with putting together a multiple team trade without any communication from them. That’s unlikely to succeed in my opinion.
The question is, who will get the trade they want? Harden to the Clippers or Dame to the Heat? Maybe both or neither?

It’s been a couple years since I’ve updated information relating to this project. I should probably do that soon. It’s pretty amazing how much of an impact having alternative energy production at home for the last 6 years has had, not just on my bills but also the environment when I look at the statistics. Hopefully bitcointalk will get their image displaying issue resolved so the information here isn’t lost.

I received the email today confirming the mtgox rumor going around that they will not be distributing any BTC until October of 2024. This is good news for people who were worried about a crash incoming as it kicks this downward pressure down the road a bit. I suspect by then we’ll have an ETF and prices will already be on the way up.
got the email too. not exactly they said - those whose payment info is good could get payouts as early as the end of this (2023) year. for those whose info could not be verified the repayment period will be stretched out to october 2024. this is at least better than holding everyone who does have good info in the system up, which is what they have been doing. but i will believe that when i have the coin in my own wallet. Ya, when it comes to mtgox I always assume that deadline=expected payout date. I do hope you’re right and we get our funds sooner, but I wouldn’t rule out another delay either. For me personally, I would consider this a sign that the ETF approval will beat the mtgox distribution but I could of course be wrong. Just a guess on my part.

I don’t understand why it is assumed that government can pay their debts. In the case of the US, even if they could make money magically appear without any added debt, inflation would cause prices to go up by like 175% overnight given the increased cash in circulation. We have reached the point where governments paying off debt is not possible.

I don’t think anybody truly retires young, they just stop having to work for people for money. Most of the “retired” people I know have replaced their jobs with other things. Sometimes relationships with people, sometimes hobbies, sometimes with a new business they run themselves for fun. I think retirement isn’t exactly a black or white thing.

Elon today tweeted that he has driven the “performance” model of the Cybertruck. I’m not sure exactly what that means but Elon described it as “kicks ass next-level” which I think is a good sign. I’m still anxiously awaiting any information about options or communication on how the purchasing process will go, but hopefully that information is revealed in the coming weeks. https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1705363066542493951

What does everybody think about Paddy vs Ferguson in Las Vegas for UFC 296? It seems to me like they’re trying to give Paddy a big name that he can actually beat given that I thought Ferguson already retired. I still think Ferguson will win though. Paddy didn’t look good in his last match and Ferguson is no easy victory.

There are levels to privacy right? So while you are correct that using change addresses isn’t going to fool the FBI into thinking you aren’t holding funds, it might fool the casual observer. There are downsides to using change addresses too when it comes to backing up funds. For most users I think the simplicity of using a single address would probably be advised.

You make a good point that man disagreements here would have been seemingly not an issue had the user read the terms and conditions beforehand. However, who reads the terms and conditions? We all know that nobody does. So there are certain accepted practices and expectations that users have, although sometimes even those are unrealistic.

Man, that’s a bummer. I wonder what went wrong. It seemed like a done deal. Those reports seem like they’re from accurate sources though. Dwight Howard seemed like a perfect fit for them. He must either still be a chaotic individual off the court, or old age has come at him fast. He was just winning a championship ring 3 years ago.
