2901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC Dump - BCH Pump + 45% on: November 11, 2017, 08:23:24 AM
How come? Should i trade for Bitcoin Cash?
Didn'(t see that coming but proberly cause of X2 cancellation
Man wished i did trade it today instead of 10% loss on BTC I could off had 40% increase..
What to do??
it was the easiest speculation so far and it was the most expected also! how did you miss that?

everyone was  expecting bitcoin cash to get pumped the closer we got to SegWit2x date (mid November) and that expectation alone was enough for the first part of the pump and then as others became sure that speculation was true they jumped in and also the pumpers started their pump by then. hence the big pump you are seeing now.

Quote
Would have been great if I did these conversions the last 2 days (but didn't)
BTC > Litecoin > ETH > BCH > Fiat
Wait for BTC to dump and buy again
that is how the market is always going to be when you don't pay attention to the details. you always miss out on the rises. and your route is a big mistake too. you are choosing two useless steps in the middle (LTC and ETH) neither of these did any good. they had some little dead cat bounce and now they are going down again.

when participating in pumped altcoins you go directly from BTC to that pumped ALT and then you dump that ALT for BTC when it reaches its bottom not back to fiat!
2902  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need your opinion, guys. on: November 11, 2017, 08:13:26 AM
you should have sold when the news about SegWit2x suspension came out and you saw the dip starting. that way you could have sold on top. if you had doubts you should have waited a little longer to see if it is a trap or not and when you saw the second wave of drops you should have sold. then you should have waited for the bottom of the dip to buy back.

right now things are harder. the correction and the dump have both happened already. going lower than this may be possible but also has a lower chance and you will be taking bigger risks by both selling or holding. and at some point you have to forget about trying to make a profit out of this dip because it would be already too late. and then your only option is to hold for long term recovery.
2903  Economy / Speculation / Re: when to buy bitcoin in today on: November 11, 2017, 08:04:29 AM
there are lots of reasons for the drop, and little of it are because of bitcoin cash.
I believe most of the current drop is because of those who bought bitcoin for the 2x free coins and as they are cashing out disappointed a panic sell starts and makes the dip bigger.
there is also lots of speculation about the drop and that alone can cause the sell pressure to grow.

when to buy?
it is hard to say but it is probably best to wait a little while to see when this sell pressure is going to be lifted so that you can see where the bottom is. I am personally waiting to see how $6400-$6500 will hold and then (if it comes to that) $6200.
I may also buy something now, like investing 30% of my money now around $6500 and then wait for lower, if it happened then buy another 30% or so and if price never went lower I buy back at higher price.
2904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x continuing the fork ! on: November 11, 2017, 07:52:59 AM
My friend just sent me this and said that Sewit2x is continuing the fork.
The website has an announcement  on their page. Is this true or a scam ?
https://bitcoin2x.org/
We think you can trust some announcement about the article about Segwit2x is continuing the fork but I read some article that segwit2x is cancel. We cannot say if true or not we can wait for their announcement about segwit2x. We can assure  if the development is going to fix the problem of blockchain .

stop looking for articles on shitposting news websites and comments by random idiots on the internet and s tart looking for things that matter. such as the support which SegWit2x has, the support from miners for instance is the easiest to check out. you can do it manually or using sites like coin.dance/blocks to see how many are still supporting it and then you can see just as expected the support has dwindled and is continuing to drop. and you can not fork bitcoin without hashing power of miners no matter who you  are.
2905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i too late on: November 11, 2017, 07:44:17 AM
any new project you can use it in the begining.
i remember when bitcoin is less than 100$  Angry
but i don't think that a will be a day more than 7000$
people have been saying the same thing all along from when price reached $1 until today and they will continue saying it even when it is $10K and so on. and each time they are just making themselves miss out on further rise.

there's now many currency you choose one or more and work in it
but i don't think that it price raise like bitcoin but it's acceptable
no, there are a lot of pump and dump altcoins that you can choose and that makes a huge difference. if there were real cryptocurrencies worthy of attention and big enough that actually solved some problem and also had some real adoption then you could have been correct.
but that is not the market we have in altcoins.
2906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google results show more people searching for Bitcoin than gold on: November 11, 2017, 07:36:40 AM
this year the media has been talking about bitcoin without any stop. all year long they have been advertising bitcoin without knowing it. even when idiots like JP Morgan CEO started talking shit about bitcoin and price dropped, he was in fact advertising bitcoin and making the adoption grow. specially since a lot of those who heard him found out that later on price fell and their firm bought bitcoin and then it not only recovered but also went to a new ATH.

all of these brings lots of new people in. and all of these would want to know a lot of different things about bitcoin. you can see Coinbase alone is having nearly 100K sign ups every couple of days now.
2907  Economy / Speculation / Re: Greed = Bearish, Long-Term-Investment = Bullish [Segwit2x cancellation] on: November 10, 2017, 09:01:09 AM
most people, specially the newcomers didn't even know about what a fork means, or what a new chain/new coin means and how you get two coins with your bitcoins! and those who knew about these things, also knew that there are risks involved in this and the "free money" may not be that free after all.
so I'd say the number of people who invested in bitcoin because they wanted "free money" was not that many.  and that is why I chose the second option, the uncertainty of the fork is also lifter now, despite the bullshit flying around about Bitcoin2x fork still going on.
2908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: B2X is not dead yet. on: November 10, 2017, 08:52:19 AM
they are not going to do it because there is no time to change things, with the real 1.7% hashrate that this group has they need to implement some emergency difficulty adjustment before they fork and even if they really had 30% and forked with that, it means they will be giving up on about $100,000 per block they find (12.5BTC block reward + 0.5-1BTC fee * 7500) and that is assuming bitcoin price is not going to reach $8000+

oh well , say goodbye to the alt coin rally, if this is true the alts should be all red in no time

the altcoins will soon be in red with or without this fork.

that is what happens when you are talking about a pump and dump altcoins. one day you pump them and the other they get dumped.
2909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Day trade bitcoins on: November 10, 2017, 08:30:29 AM
you can day trade anything that is volatile, in other words it is possible. but remember that being possible and the fact that others are doing it  does not mean it is easy nor does it mean you will be successful if you start doing it without any prior experience. you may get lucky in a couple of trades and make some profit and lose sight of your inexperience and that is even worse because it gives you false confidence which can lead to big losses.

if you want to start day trading, it is best to start with a small amount. and preferably if you can , try doing a test run with no money at all. of course I am assuming you have not traded much before which is the case with most people who start in bitcoin trading.
2910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India may ban bitcoin in 2018 on: November 10, 2017, 08:10:37 AM
There is a news that may be India will ban bitcoin in 2018. Make your guess will India really ban it or not?

if you have a news, then post the link to it here otherwise you are talking about rumors not news.

and if I remember India was talking about banning bitcoin in the beginning of 2017 and at some point they had set some strict rules for it but people were against it and they petitioned for removal of these rules and they succeeded. and as you can see currently price of bitcoin in India is at least 60% higher than the price in USD markets.

this shows there is a lot of demand for bitcoin there and government can not just ban something with this much people invested in it.
2911  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone use YoBit anymore? on: November 07, 2017, 10:14:23 AM
Yobit is still around and people are still using it. there is volume coming out of there anyways. and I believe with bittrex closing down a lot of accounts there have been a lot of users who looked for alternatives and some of them may even switch to Yobit and many other exchanges even for testing to see which one is good.

I have used them and from time to time I use their services. it is bad and there is no proper support but it is working anyways. it is a risk I take for profit. for example I dumped some part of my bitcoin gold there. and it was easy and smooth, surprisingly!
2912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real estate for Bitcoins on: November 07, 2017, 10:07:06 AM
this has been going on for a while if I am not mistaken. and it is cool and all but I don't think it is that big, this kind of thing can not have that many people interested in it. for example people are not going to be spending nearly 400BTC all at once unless they have 1000BTC!
most people have far less than that and they are storing it for the future as a very long term investment and if they spend from it, they will spend small amounts like $500 worth of it tops. which is why I think there won't be that many deals with bitcoin to buy or sell real estate.
2913  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase in a nutshell on: November 07, 2017, 09:30:24 AM
whatever they do they are based in US, you will have to deal with everything that comes with that. the least they are going to do is reporting every single thing you do to the IRS and a couple of other 3 letter agencies. that is why they are offering a bitcoin wallet on top of an exchange service anyways. that is actually how they caught the kickass torrent owner too! they had all the reports of all the bitcoins he ever received and spent through KAT website thanks to coinbase Wink
2914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bubbled Many Times on: November 07, 2017, 09:10:26 AM
people expect bubbles and crashes to be catastrophic, to a point where they start to lose sight of what a bubble and a correction really means. you can clearly see this idiocy when they use terms such as "crypto winter is coming" an stuff like that.

meanwhile bitcoin has all these big rises and big falls which are even as big as -30% drops and all the while those drops happening all the bubble guys are silent and they are actually buying bitcoin by that time.

Should we then be concerned about the bubble or the fact that we failed to buy Bitcoin when it was still cheaper?

the bubble talk will stop, either after their bubble (illusion) burst and they realize how wrong they were or when price comes down and starts having slow rise again.
2915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we not change the name of the original Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2017, 09:03:53 AM
why should "we" do anything at all? they are the ones creating altcoins left and right from bitcoin. and it is no confusion in my opinion, their names are clear enough for anyone to understand that is not bitcoin. it is like those Chinese products that use the same name as the original ones but they are clearly crap.

and lets say for a moment that we changed the name from bitcoin to bitcoin original, what will you do when they forked this and created "bitcoin very original" or "bitcoin original 2.0"!
2916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Surviving segwit2x hardfork on: November 07, 2017, 08:58:13 AM
What are you going to do when the Day comes?

1) HOLD bitcoins
2) Temporarly switch to altcoins (Ether, Lite, ...)
3) Sell BTC for USD, than buy back after the fork.
4) Swtch to Bicoin Cash hoping it can go 3-10x
5) Other option.

1) option 1 is what I always choose but it is only because I have invested what I can afford to lose nothing more and nothing less so I am not worried about what might happen. and I believe that I am good enough with risk management to know what I am doing, at least I have been successful so far.

2) this is not an option at all. if bitcoin falls altcoins will fall harder. besides alts are pump and dumps anyways so it is not worth even thinking about them as investments.

3) this is for those who want to risk it. they may miss out on the rise because the drop may not last long enough for them to come back and buy.

4) I wouldn't say "switch" but investing something in it is not a bad idea only if you are a trader. BCH is getting pumped hard these days and it is a good profit.

5) there are other altcoins like BCH which are getting pumped these days Wink
2917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I lose Segwit2 fork coins due to not holding enough bitcoin? on: November 06, 2017, 09:43:27 AM
the only loss is loss due to fees.

for example imagine you had 0.02BTC and wanted to get your bitcoin gold tokens.
1. you will have to make a deposit on an exchange before the fork to receive the coins as soon as they are released. you pay a transaction fee here. about 0.0002BTC
2. when you get your BTG you have to sell it for bitcoin and pay 0.2% trading fee. lets say price was 0.04 on average and you sold your equal 0.02 BTG that gives you 0.0008BTC - 0.00000160BTC fee
3. you need to withdraw your bitcoin now so you pay a withdrawal fee to the exchange and that is 0.0008BTC on yobit for example which had BTG at the time.

the total means you lost money instead if you had 0.02BTC.
2918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are you all holding your Bitcoin for the fork? on: November 06, 2017, 09:37:23 AM
the funds I have for trading, or practically my hot wallet is going to be on an exchange of my choice which I have not yet decided which one. but I will keep it there so that I can receive the coins fastest way possible then sell before the drop begins. I might buy back what I sell though. I will wait a little to see how the market is reacting and wait for a bottom to buy back and keep the difference as profit.

the rest I will keep in my cold storage for safe keeping and will split my coins after some time has passed and as soon as I find a secure way of doing so. I have to consider risks, the replay protection and the safety of what I am going to download.
2919  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i withdraw btc for cash on: November 06, 2017, 09:31:02 AM
4.  spectrocoin

I have never used this site before so I don't have any personal experience with it but I have seen enough complaints from other users about their services that I would think twice before wanting to use them while there are other better similar services around that do the same thing.
in other words it is best if you use other exchanges unless spectrocoin is the only thing that offers what you want.
2920  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet big bug on: November 04, 2017, 03:50:00 AM
(in case this has not yet been fixed here is my same experience)
it is the wallet file issue (the file blockchain.info stores on their servers) I have had this issue with a testing wallet (old one before they switch to this new interface) it was legacy wallet and I had imported some addresses with huge number of transactions and double spends. it was for testing and stuff anyways.

being big and full of these transactions prevented me from upgrading it to the new version from legacy and I had the exact same issue as you had, meaning every time I logged in, I was dropped out to log in page right after I saw the wallet main page.

if it is important to you, as in if you hold any bitcoin there, then contact support and ask them for help. you may even have to get the wallet file itself and decrypt it yourself using some other wallet (don't know which one works now though, before it was multibit classic).
