bitcoin is ALWAYS volatile. it has always been and will be for a couple of more years. that is no reason for not wanting to invest in it. in fact many traders are only involved in bitcoin because it is volatile!
additionally you seem to be missing the fact that when price falls down from an All Time High (ATH), in other words when it is in a dip, that is the best time to buy it. and now we are in a dip which means the best time to buy bitcoin and hold it.
it is pretty simple! when price has fallen 67.5% (current level is that much lower than ATH) there is not much room left to go lower. it may fall down to 70% or a little more but we are near the end of the drop for sure. and when we reach that point, there is nowhere else to go but up,.... eventually.

circle to me is one of the worst businesses that were created in bitcoin world. the owner of it is also incompetent. if I recall correctly I think it was last year that they stopped one of their main services because it wasn't generating them money and to cover it up and shut their angry customers up they started attacking bitcoin and spreading some FUD about it!!!

$6600 is not this year low. the low was $5900 this year which happened on the first major dump and panic sell that bitcoin had. the next drop came after it where price couldn't go near that level and stayed above $6400.
as for OP's subject there was a small recovery but not something worthy of creating a topic about it!

it is used but not as much as you may imagine. there are scams all around us but the pyramid scams are too obvious to be able to be pulled off these days.

such people don't have any money to invest either! this way of thinking alone assures that their finances are always terrible since they lose their money and at some point they become too scared to make any kind of investment and continue their lives without investing anything.

the main reason for any government who saw bitcoin as a threat was because they knew bitcoin is decentralized and they knew they could never control it the way they are controlling fiat and it is not surprising that all of these countries have corrupted government with a corrupted economy!
go check out each of these countries and their government and you'll see!

yeah, well two days ago it was the same thing too. market was showing some upward movement before everything changed back to dropping again. so I wouldn't just rush into any conclusions. despite me not seeing any potential for further drop but I also don't see any rises coming with this kind of buy support which can not be sustained for the time being.
we may need more time.

in any case I can see banks investing in bitcoin because of the profitability of something like that but I honestly don't see them getting involved with it for trading internationally. besides it is already prohibited in some countries like China for banks to invest in bitcoin to begin with....

yeah well it is a new technology and a new field to regulate so it is somewhat understandable to sometimes see some unreasonable regulations in effect in some places but eventually and hopefully there will be corrections in the system which makes things more reasonable and friendly.
additionally there are a lot of different countries each of which have a very different opinion towards cryptocurrencies so it is hard to expect a similar attitude towards them at the same time. some are even scared of bitcoin because it has been messing with their corrupted economy by providing people with an option to exit that economy!

FUD is not a bad thing at all if you look at it like an opportunity. or in other words How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love FUD. it can actually be a way to make a lot of profit from the manipulation that has been happening to bitcoin for a very long time now.
the only problem is knowing what is a real FUD that can cause or at least intensify a drop and also know the difference between that and pure bullshit that some users spread on bitcointalk and elsewhere thinking they are FUDing. the first one is what you want to take advantage of and the second one is what you only want to laugh at

good point but not all of them are like this. and market is not always open for shorts. in fact in most of the bitcoin's lifetime it is a bad time for shorting it. shorts mostly work best during downtrends (bear markets) and although they can be used any other time but they are most profitable then. and we know bitcoin is only 30% bear market and 70 or may more bull.
not to mention that many of these big players have been parking their money in bitcoin for some time now. they have been accumulating more bitcoin by injecting their fiat into it slowly so that they don't show it to anyone and on the charts.

the best tip for most traders (specially those that are beginning their trading journey in cryptocurrency markets) is to stay away from trading whenever there is a downtrend like this going on. they can simply sell their coins (liquidate) and go back out to fiat and wait it out until the bear market has ended.
it is always harder to make profit in a bear market and it is much harder to make profit in a crypto bear market because of the manipulations and hardness of predictions.

it doesn't have to be "either or" kind of deal. for now price is mostly stable and stuck right in the middle of these two prices. and it may stay like this for a longer time since there is a good chance that an accumulation is happening right now while the price is low and stable but with a higher volume.
but until it actually moves ahead and breaks some certain price levels we can not say for sure. that is why it is also considered an uncertain period in the market.

and it is not about hype nor volatility of cryptocurrencies. it is all about the difference that exists between cryptos and the rest of the markets. specially when they are decentralized and unregulated. otherwise hype is not the differentiating factor here.

the bad news, false news, FUD, manipulation,... and all the things like that are a part of bitcoin market and we can not do anything about them. things will always be like this, the magnitude of the effects will shrink over time though!

what we CAN do is to learn how to take advantage of the situation and make profit from it. for example when the FUD waves start and we can see the manipulation is starting up we can sell our coins but only do it if we are at the beginning of the drop not after >10% has dropped! then the drop that happens after the FUD is a very good opportunity to buy back or simply buy bitcoin with fiat to increase the amount of bitcoin we are holding for the future rallies.

if people like OP spent less time creating dumb FUD topics and started spending more time in the market gaining real experience and tried to better their trading skills, they would have made a lot of money compared to now and they would have been less desperate for it too.

I have some country names in my head but I won't name any of them because what you are asking sounds to me like centralizing things a lot to one place and to a group of people and that is now what cryptocurrency was created for.

but as long as their purposes don't go further than overseeing and preventing scams from ruining the world I am ok with it and don't care where it is located at.

I think the market is not ready for any kind of major rise for now. which is why price is struggling to rise up. there simply isn't enough buy support for a rise but there is enough buy support to prevent a further drop.
but I agree that for a real breakout and the ATH we first need to go back to $9k levels.
